Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan’s solid-gold toilet, titled America, is due to debut in the Guggenheim Museum’s Upper East Side bathroom on September 16.
The Fifth Avenue museum describes the piece as “a bold, irreverent work”.
The lavatory replaced one of the Guggenheim’s porcelain toilets in a one-person, unisex restroom.

Visitors who pay museum admission will be able to use it as they wish.
The Guggenheim said the piece is “ultimately reminding us of the inescapable physical realities of our shared humanity”.
According to the museum, the exhibit is aimed at “making available to the public an extravagant luxury product seemingly intended for the 1 percent”.
“Its participatory nature, in which viewers are invited to make use of the fixture individually and privately, allows for an experience of unprecedented intimacy with a work of art,” said the Guggenheim.
Maurizio Cattelan, a 55-year-old Milan-based artist and a truck driver’s son, hinted earlier this year that his creation had been inspired by economic inequality.
The exhibit has also drawn comparisons with Marcel Duchamp’s avant-garde Fountain, the porcelain urinal he exhibited in New York in 1917, causing a sensation in the art world.
Maurizio Cattelan is known for his provocative sculptures, including La Nona Ora (The Ninth Hour), which depicted Pope John Paul II floored by a meteorite.
A Donald Trump anti-Clinton speech has been cut short by the pastor of a Michigan black church.
Rev. Faith Green Timmons interrupted Donald Trump as he attacked his Democratic rival’s support for global trade deals.
The Bethel United Methodist Church pastor said: “Mr. Trump, I invited you here to thank us for what we’ve done in Flint, not give a political speech.”
“Oh, oh, OK, that’s good,” Donald Trump responded, shuffling papers on his podium.
Donald Trump went on to make a few remarks about fixing Flint’s drinking water problems, but some in the crowd began to heckle.
One woman shouted out that Donald Trump had used discriminatory housing practices in his buildings.
The Republican nominee responded: “Never, you’re wrong. Never would.”
Rev. Faith Green Timmons interrupted again, this time to reproach Donald Trump’s hecklers, saying: “He is a guest in my church and you will respect him.”
Donald Trump abruptly ended his speech, which had lasted six minutes.
Hillary Clinton’s personal doctor, Lisa Bardack, says the Democratic nominee is “healthy and fit to serve” as US president as her campaign released updated medical information.
The statement said Hillary Clinton “continues to improve” after a pneumonia diagnosis.
The disclosure came as Donald Trump released health data of his own on The Dr Oz Show.
Hillary Clinton aides say she will return to the campaign trail on September 15 after falling ill in public at the weekend.
Both candidates, among the oldest ever to run for the White House, have been under intense pressure to share more medical information.
Health issues have dominated the race for November’s election since a dizzy spell forced Hillary Clinton, 68, to leave a 9/11 ceremony in New York on September 11.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign said on September 14 that her physician found her complete physical examination was “normal” and she is in “excellent mental condition”.
Dr. Lisa Bardack said Hillary Clinton was “recovering well with antibiotics and rest”.
The campaign said Hillary Clinton had a chest scan on September 9 that showed a “mild, non-contagious bacterial pneumonia”.
Hillary Clinton – who has been recuperating at her suburban New York home – was treated with an antibiotic called Levaquin, which she was prescribed for 10 days.
Dr. Lisa Bardack said: “She continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as President of the United States.”
The physician said Hillary Clinton was up to date on all vaccines, including two given to help prevent pneumonia, Prevnar and Pneumovax.
The letter did not state when she received those vaccines.
Hillary Clinton’s blood pressure (of 100 over 70) and total cholesterol (189) were all within healthy levels, according to the letter.
The former Secretary of State also had a normal mammogram and breast ultrasound, said the doctor.
Hillary Clinton takes thyroid and allergy medicines and the blood thinner Coumadin, prescribed after she suffered a blood clot resulting from a 2012 concussion.
The blood clot was said to have been in a vein in the space between the brain and the skull behind the right ear.
The complication led Hillary Clinton to spend a few days in hospital and take a month off from her job at the State Department.
Donald Trump, meanwhile, has said he is planning to release details this week of a recent physical.
The Republican White House nominee handed over a one-page summary of that examination while appearing on The Dr Oz Show.
Donald Trump told Dr. Oz he is 236lb and 6ft 3in tall, which would make him clinically overweight.
The Dr Oz Show will not be broadcast until September 15 and the campaign declined to immediately disclose the results.
Donald Trump told a rally in Canton, Ohio, on September 14 that he doubted Hilalry Clinton would have the stamina to lead one of his events.
The Republican asked the crowd: “You think Hillary would be able to stand up here for an hour and do this? I don’t think so, I don’t think so.”
Donald Trump later said she was “lying in bed, getting better”.
The 2016 U.S. Presidential election is just over two months away and there are four main candidates running, Donald Trump, Gary Johnson, Hillary Clinton and Jill Stein. Clinton is currently holding a lead over Trump, but just a 5% edge. Clinton’s lead increased to 10 percentage points and has a 45% to 35% edge against her competitors.
Consequently, there’s a high probability that Clinton could be the next U.S. President. Therefore, a lot of her statements have pull. Now, we’ve seen this in the biotech market most recently. According to binary options broker, Stern Options, this can have major implications as the elections near.
For example, Hillary Clinton has been voicing her opinion and is largely against price gouging in the biotechnology and pharmaceuticals industry. Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s tweets have caused biotech and pharmaceuticals to fall and those invested in these industries should proceed with caution.
Clinton Wants Lower Drug Prices in 2016
As we saw in 2015, Clinton’s tweets carry a substantial amount of power. This is still the case in 2016. Clinton added to the pressure of pharmaceuticals and biotech industries, which have been underperforming the S&P 500 Index as of September 9, 2016.
The S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index is down 12.90% YTD and the Nasdaq Biotechnology Index is down 17.62% YTD. Now, one could argue that some investors are selling their shares because Clinton becoming the next president could be a reality. Therefore, she may move to change legislation, which could hurt these industries.

Any statements that Hillary Clinton makes about the pharmaceuticals and biotech industry should send stocks in those industries into a frenzy. For example, Clinton most recently tweeted and issued statements about Mylan’s significant price hike of the EpiPen, an allergy treatment used widely around the world.
Clinton tweeted on August 24, 2016 at 2:02 PM ET and wrote, “EpiPens can be the difference between life and death. There’s no justification for these price hikes.” Clinton’s comments solidified her stance on the pharmaceuticals industry, noting that she may move to change legislature if she is elected in the upcoming U.S. Presidential election. Clinton’s plan to address price gouging in the drug industry has shaken the industries.
This caused leading biotech and pharmaceuticals stocks to suffer losses, in turn, this caused a substantial drop in the Nasdaq Biotech Index. The index fell from 3098.47 at the close of August 23, 2016 to a low of 2,986.97 on August 24, 2016, over a 3% drop. Consequently, IBB fell from $296.18 to $286.23, a 3.35% in just one day. As of September 9, 2016, IBB is down 17.54% YTD and 18.95% over the past year.
Mylan N.V. (NASDAQ: MYL), the company that raised the price of EpiPens, suffered a major one day drop due to Clinton’s tweet. The stock lost 5.41% of its market value in just one day. In just seven trading days, as of September 1, 2016, Mylan lost 8.05% of its market capitalization.
Mylan’s stock price is still getting hammered in early September 2016. The stock is down 26.23% YTD and may continue to succumb to the selling pressure that was caused by Hillary Clinton’s tweet.
Clinton’s Strengthening Campaign
Clinton’s campaign has been gaining traction and more people are donating to her efforts. Clinton raised $143 million in August, for her campaign, the DNC and state parties. Consequently, this should increase her lead in the polls leading up to the election. The campaign donations will allow Clinton to reach millions of voters across the U.S. and, perhaps, convince many Americans to vote for her.
According to Stern Options Analyst, Anthony Di Maggio, he believes U.S. Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton will increase her lead over Donald Trump, Gary Johnson and Jill Stein in September. Di Maggio also noted that investors should be gearing up and consider taking off some positions in the biotech and pharmaceuticals industry because there is a high probability that Clinton may become U.S. President. Therefore, she may move to increase regulations in those industries, causing them to lose value.
Prince’s first wife, Myate Garcia, has announced she is writting an “intimate memoir” about her life with the musician.
The Most Beautiful will chronicle her relationship and marriage with Prince and the painful loss of their son in 1996.
Publisher Hachette said the book was due for release in April 2017, marking the first anniversary of Prince’s death.
Mayte Garcia said: “Ours was a rare, almost otherworldly connection.
“I want to share our love story, and with it the highs and lows – always coming from a loving place, as this man is still part of my family and always will be.”
Mayte Garcia and Prince were introduced backstage at one of the singer’s concerts in 1990, when Garcia was just 16.
An accomplished dancer, Mayte Garcia had caught Prince’s attention after her mother sent a video of her belly dancing to the singer in the hope he might hire her.
Mayte Garcia and Prince stayed in touch and two years later she joined his touring band. After falling in love, they married on Valentine’s Day, 1996. White doves were released as they exchanged vows.
She became pregnant almost at once, but their son Ahmir Gregory died just a week after birth due to Pfeiffer syndrome, a rare defect of the skull.
That loss, followed by a miscarriage not long afterwards, tore the grieving couple apart and they divorced in1999.
In 2001, Prince married Manuela Testolini in a private ceremony; she filed for divorce in May 2006.
In a statement announcing the memoir, Mayte Garcia said: “Prince was loved the world over but few knew him intimately.”
The book’s title refers to Prince’s song, The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, which she inspired.
Prince was also in the process of writing a memoir before his death. It is not known if the book was finished, or whether it will see the light of day.
Prince died on April 21 following an accidental overdose of the painkiller Fentanyl. He was 57.
A tribute concert is planned in Prince’s home town of Minneapolis for next month.
Puerto Rico beauty queen Kristhielee Caride has lost her bid to reclaim her tiara taken from her for poor behavior.
Kristhielee Caride had violated the terms of her contract as Puerto Rico’s representative for Miss Universe, a judge ruled.
She had refused to attend a designated hair salon, and failed to appear on a TV program because she said the traffic was too bad.
Kristhielee Caride was seeking $3 million in damages from the organizers.
The week-long court case has gripped Puerto Rico. TV stations interrupted regular programming to show proceedings in court and Kristhielee Caride’s testimony.
The ruling by Puerto Rican Supreme Court Judge Eduardo Rebollo dismissed the lawsuit filed by Kristhielee Caride.
The judge said Kristhielee Caride had given terse answers to questions during a newspaper interview and that she did not love cameras.
Desiree Lowry, the national director of Miss Universe Puerto Rico, told the court that Kristhielee Caride had refused to apologize to the newspaper reporter after the interview.
She also said Kristhielee Caride had used her own stylist instead of a hair salon hired for her.
The beauty queen defended her decision and accused salon employees of disrespecting her.
Kristhielee Caride lost the Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2016 title in March and was replaced by another candidate.
Donald Trump’s foundation is under investigation over suspected “impropriety”, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said.
The attorney-general’s office wanted to ensure the foundation is “complying with the laws that govern charities in New York”, he added.
The Trump Foundation has been hit by a number of damaging media stories.
Donald Trump’s team has dismissed Eric Schneiderman, a Democrat, as “a partisan hack.”
The attorney-general has endorsed Donald Trump’s chief opponent, Hillary Clinton, for president.
Donald Trump’s campaign spokesman Jason Miller said Eric Schneiderman had “turned a blind eye to the Clinton Foundation for years”, and called the inquiry “another left-wing hit job designed to distract from Crooked Hillary Clinton’s disastrous week”.
“We have been concerned that the Trump Foundation may have engaged in some impropriety from that point of view,” Eric Schneiderman told CNN.
“And we’ve inquired into it, and we’ve had correspondence with them. I didn’t make a big deal out of it or hold a press conference, but we have been looking into the Trump Foundation to make sure it’s complying with the laws that govern charities in New York.”
According to recent reports, Eric Schneiderman’s office has been investigating the Donald J. Trump Foundation since at least June when it formally questioned a donation made to a group backing Republican Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi in 2013.
The $25,000 payment was made at a time when Pam Bondi’s office was reportedly considering whether to open a fraud investigation into Trump University.
The fraud investigation never happened, although Pam Bondi denies the decision was influenced by the donation she received.
Donald Trump’s aides have already admitted the donation was a mistake resulting from clerical errors, according to reports.
The DoJ has been asked by Democrats in the House of Representatives to investigate the $25,000 donation to Pam Bondi.
Other newspaper investigations allege the Trump Foundation reported donations that the supposed recipients say they never received, and also spent money on the candidate himself.
Japan’s Sakurajima volcano – one of the country’s most active volcanoes – is due for a major eruption within the next 30 years, say scientists who have studied a build-up of magma there.
The Sakurajima volcano on Kyushu Island poses a “growing threat”, researchers at the University of Bristol say.
The volcano, located 30 miles from the Sendai nuclear plant, is also close to Kagoshima, a city of 600,000.
Sakurajima’s last deadly eruption was in 1914, when 58 people died.
The Japanese archipelago, which sits on the Pacific “Ring of fire”, has more than 100 volcanoes.
The Sakurajima volcano regularly spews ash and there are many small explosions there each year, with the latest eruption being in February.
The volcano is closely monitored by Japanese authorities and one of two volcanoes at Level 3 out of 5 levels in Japan’s volcanic warning system, which means that people are warned not to approach the volcano.
“The 1914 eruption measured about 1.5km cubed in volume,” said the study’s lead author Dr James Hickey, who has now joined the University of Exeter’s Camborne School of Mines.
“From our data we think it would take around 130 years for the volcano to store the same amount of magma for another eruption of a similar size- meaning we are around 25 years away.”
A report on the activity of the volcano was published on September 13 and teams from Bristol University and the Sakurajima Volcano Research Centre took part.
Their research showed that 14 million cubic meters of magma is accumulating each year, enough to fill London’s Wembley Stadium 3.5 times over.
Researchers added that the rate at which the magma is accumulating is faster than it can be expelled in its regular smaller eruptions, which led them to infer that a major eruption is likely in the next 30 years.
They made these assessments based on new ways of studying and modeling the volcano’s magma reservoir. Scientists say they hope these findings can help authorities plan for major eruptions.
New evacuation plans have already been prepared, according to an associate professor at Kyoto University.
“It is already passed by 100 years since the 1914 eruption, less than 30 years is left until a next expected big eruption,” said Dr. Haruhisa Nakamichi, Associate Professor at the Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University.
“Kagoshima city office has prepared a new evacuation plan from Sakurajima.”
WikiLeaks leaker Chelsea Manning announces she has ended a hunger strike because the Army has agreed to provide her with gender transition surgery.
The US Army soldier was convicted by court-martial in July 2013 of violations of the Espionage Act and other offenses, after disclosing to WikiLeaks nearly three-quarters of a million classified or unclassified but sensitive military and diplomatic documents.
Psychologists recommended in April that Chelsea Manning should receive the treatment.
The move comes after the US military in July lifted a ban on transgender people in the armed forces.
“I am unendingly relieved that the military is finally doing the right thing. I applaud them for that. This is all that I wanted – for them to let me be me,” Chelsea Manning, 28, said in a statement.
The US Army has so far declined to comment.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which represented Chelsea Manning, confirmed that she would be provided with medical treatment.
ACLU lawyer Chase Strangio, said: “This is a monumental day for Chelsea, who can now enjoy some peace knowing that critically needed medical care is forthcoming.
“Thankfully the government has recognized its constitutional obligation to provide Chelsea with the medical care that she needs.”
Chelsea Manning began her hunger strike on September 9, saying she was being bullied by the US government and denied treatment for gender dysphoria.
In July, Chelsea Manning attempted suicide over the lack of treatment.
She will now be treated under the US military’s new transgender policy, which also allows troops to transition gender while serving and aims to set standards for medical care.
However Chelsea Manning’s campaign team said she could still face being put in solitary confinement as punishment for having tried to commit suicide.
Chelsea Manning, who was arrested as Bradley Manning, is serving a 35-year sentence at the all-male Fort Leavenworth military facility in Kansas.
She was convicted in a military court of leaking more than 700,000 secret files to WikiLeaks after having worked as an intelligence analyst in Iraq.
Shortly afterwards she announced Chelsea Manning would start living as a woman.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has confirmed that a Russian cyber espionage group operator by the name of Tsar Team (APT28), also known as Fancy Bear, illegally gained access to its Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS) database via an International Olympic Committee (IOC)-created account for the Rio 2016 Games.
The hacker group leaked confidential medical files of star US Olympic athletes, including tennis players Venus and Serena Williams and teenage gymnast Simone Biles.
Fancy Bears claimed responsibility for the hack of a WADA database.
After the leak, Simone Biles said she had long been taking medicine for ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
The hacker group had accused her of taking an “illicit psycho-stimulant”, but Simone Biles said she had “always followed the rules”.
The Rio Olympics quadruple gold medalist had obtained the necessary permission to take prescription medicine on the WADA banned drugs list, USA Gymnastics said in a statement.
In a statement on the agency’s official website, WADA Director General Olivier Niggli said: “WADA deeply regrets this situation and is very conscious of the threat that it represents to athletes whose confidential information has been divulged through this criminal act.”
“We are reaching out to stakeholders, such as the IOC, IFs and NADOs, regarding the specific athletes impacted,” he continued.
WADA said that the cyber attacks were an attempt to undermine the global anti-doping system.
Russian government spokesman Dmitry Peskov said it was “out of the question” that the Kremlin or secret services were involved in the hacking, Russian news agencies reported.
The hackers accessed records detailing “Therapeutic Use Exemptions” (TUEs), which allow the use of banned substances due to athletes’ verified medical needs.
“By virtue of the TUE, Biles has not broken any drug-testing regulations, including at the Olympic Games in Rio,” USA Gymnastics said.
Fancy Bears said TUEs amount to “licenses for doping”.
The leaked documents allege that Serena Williams was granted permission to use drugs commonly used to treat muscle injuries, such as anti-inflammatories, while Simone Biles is said to use Ritalin – a treatment for her ADHD.
Former – Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority head Richard Ings said: “Nothing I see here gives me cause for alarm,” adding it looked “totally normal”.
“The issue here is privacy breach.”
Russia’s track and field team were banned from the Rio Olympics over an alleged state-backed doping program. All Russian athletes are barred from the ongoing Paralympics.
“Let it be known that these criminal acts are greatly compromising the effort by the global anti-doping community to re-establish trust in Russia,” Olivier Niggli said.
US Anti-Doping Agency chief Travis Tygart called the hack “cowardly and despicable”.
“In each of the situations, the athlete has done everything right in adhering to the global rules for obtaining permission to use a needed medication,” he said.
The US Olympic Committee has had “zero adverse findings from the Rio Olympic Games that weren’t 100% within the medical guidelines set forth by anti-doping authorities,” spokesman Patrick Sandusky said.
Earlier this month, Olivier Niggli said WADA was experiencing almost daily cyber attacks originating from Russia.
Fancy Bears has pledged to release confidential records from other national Olympic teams.
Israel ex-President Shimon Peres has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke.
The 93-year-old has been rushed to a hospital outside Tel Aviv. He has been sedated and is breathing with the help of a respirator, his office said. He is now expected to undergo a CT scan.
Shimon Peres had been described as conscious and stable when he arrived at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer.
In January, the former president underwent successful minor surgery at the same hospital after suffering a small heart attack.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted: “Shimon, we love you and the entire nation is wishing for your recovery.”
Shimon Peres has held almost every major political office since Israel was founded in 1948, and was the architect of Israel’s secret nuclear program.
He twice served as prime minister and was president from 2007 to 2014.
Shimon Peres won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 for his role negotiating the Oslo peace accords with the Palestinians a year earlier, a prize he shared with PM Yitzhak Rabin, who was later assassinated, and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.
Despite his age, Shimon Peres has maintained an active public schedule, mostly through his non-governmental Peres Centre for Peace, which promotes closer ties between Israel and the Palestinians.
We love sports here, but lately, we’ve been wondering, how safe are they. After all, it seems that we can’t get through one week without seeing a report of another injury in the sporting world. Whether that’s a head-on collision in a football match or an F1 crash. It is possible that these sports are actually far more dangerous than we assume? Or, are there special protective measures in place to keep the athletes we love safe on the field?
American Football
American football is the big one after Concussion was released last year. A film that documented the dangers of head on collisions in American football. Specifically, that it could lead to brain damage. However, the good news is that a head-on collision is incredibly rare in American football and rules on the field keep the players safe.
Horse Riding
Do you ever think about how much danger a rider is in when he chooses to get on that horse? Probably not but we can tell you it takes a lot of courage. Especially if you know, that horseriding has been shown to be more dangerous than taking ecstasy!
Boxing
Boxing may seem like a vicious sport with two guys hammering at one another till one is down. Although, you might be surprised to know that boxing is more like dancing. Each hit the boxer takes, is often coordinated and aimed to precision. As well as this, they do have foam padding in their gloves and often in headgear. This is designed to keep them safe from serious injuries. Certainly, it’s a lot safer than bare-knuckle boxing, as you can see in the infographic below.
A Harmony of the Seas crew member has died and four others have been injured after a lifeboat fell off the world’s biggest cruise ship.
Five crew members were onboard the lifeboat when it “became detached” from the fifth deck during a safety drill.
The lifeboat fell 33 feet into the water. Two crew members are in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The accident happened during a stopover in Marseille.
A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean , which operates the Harmony of the Seas, has confirmed the death of the 42-year-old Filipino crew member in a statement: “We are sorry to share the sad news that a crew member aboard Harmony of the Seas has died of injuries suffered during a lifeboat drill conducted while docked at the port of Marseille, France.
“Four other crew members received medical treatment in the same incident. We are keeping our colleagues and their families in our thoughts and prayers.”
The injured crew members included three other Filipinos and an Indian man, AFP reports.
The Royal Caribbean Cruise also confirmed the death on its Twitter account: “We’re keeping our colleagues and their families in our thoughts and prayers.”
Harmony of the Seas is the world’s largest cruise liner at 362 metres long, and can hold more than 8,000 passengers and crew.
The liner is higher than a 25-storey building, and longer than the height of the Eiffel Tower.
Among its luxurious facilities are 20 restaurants, 23 swimming pools, a theater and a casino.
Harmony of the Seas only had its maiden voyage on May 29.
According to new reports, Hillary Clinton kept her pneumonia diagnosis from most of her staff, choosing to tell only family and close aides.
The Democratic presidential candidate was reportedly concerned that news of the illness would be exploited by her opponents.
Hillary Clinton was diagnosed with walking pneumonia on September 9 and advised to rest, but continued campaigning.
The candidate’s team was forced to go public with the diagnosis on September 11 when she left a 9/11 memorial early, appearing weak.
Speaking to CNN on September 12, Hillary Clinton said she was feeling “so much better”.
Hillary Clinton also told the broadcaster that she had not disclosed her pneumonia diagnosis, saying: “I just didn’t think it was going to be that big a deal.”
She said she had ignored a doctor’s “wise” advice to rest for five days. Hillary Clinton said she hoped to be back on the trail in “the next couple of days”.
She acknowledged she had lost her balance during 9/11 memorial, but said she did not faint.
Hillary Clinton said: “I felt dizzy and I did lose my balance for a minute, but once I got in [the van], once I could sit down, once I could cool off, once I had some water, I immediately started feeling better.”
Some critics questioned why this had only been revealed after 9/11 memorial incident and Hillary Clinton’s communications director conceded the incident had been poorly managed.
Hillary Clinton will be releasing new medical records to help ease concerns about her health, a campaign spokesman said.
Don Fowler, a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), urged the party on September 12 to immediately come up with a process to choose a potential successor for Hillary Clinton, in case she is forced to retire with ill health.
He said he expected Hillary Clinton to fully recover but said taking precautions was necessary.
It capped a difficult weekend for Hillary Clinton, who came under attack from rival Republican Donald Trump for calling half of his supporters “deplorable” people on September 9.
On September 12, Donald Trump wished Hillary Clinton a speedy recovery. He also pledged to release the results of a medical examination he took over the past week.
Donald Trump has repeatedly suggested Hillary Clinton is unfit, telling supporters last month she “lacks the mental and physical stamina” to serve as president.
North Korea is facing a humanitarian disaster after tens of thousands of people were displaced by flooding, the UN and the International Red Cross have warned.
According to the aid agencies, the North Korean government has reported 133 deaths with nearly 400 people missing and homes and crops destroyed.
Rescue teams have been unable to reach some of the worst-hit areas.
North Korea already has chronic food shortages and is heavily dependent on foreign aid to feed its population.
The United Nations has allocated $8 million in 2016 for humanitarian aid in North Korea.
The flooding, triggered by the recent Typhoon Lionrock, comes as North Korea faces global anger for conducting its fifth nuclear test last week.
September 9 detonation, believed to be the North’s biggest test so far, is expected to lead to a tightening of sanctions.
According to the UN, the worst flooding is along the Tumen River, which borders China. Many areas in Musan and Yonsa counties are entirely cut off.
The UN’s Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has said 140,000 people are “in urgent need of assistance”.
Murat Sahin, a UN official in North Korea, said the scale was of the disaster was “beyond anything experienced by local officials”.
According to North Korean state media, people are experiencing “great suffering” in the region.
Brazil’s Congress has expelled ex-Speaker Eduardo Cunha after he denied having millions of dollars hidden in Swiss bank accounts.
Information from Swiss authorities proved the existence of the accounts.
Eduardo Cunha – seen as the architect of former President Dilma Rousseff’s impeachment – could now face arrest.
Dilma Rousseff was removed last month for moving funds between government budgets, which is illegal under Brazilian law.
During a bitter debate on September 12, Eduardo Cunha accused her supporters of seeking revenge against him.
Eduardo Cunha is also known as the “keeper of secrets” in Congress, where dozens of other politicians are also accused of fraud and has suggested he may cooperate with investigators into a wide ranging corruption scandal.
He is also being investigated by the Supreme Court for allegedly taking millions of dollars in bribes to secure contracts with state oil giant, Petrobras.
Petrobras is at the centre of a massive kickbacks scandal which cost the company $2 billion and has led to the arrest of dozens of lawmakers and top businessmen.
At least three businessmen have said under interrogation that they paid bribes to Eduardo Cunha, which they deposited in his overseas accounts.
Along with his seat, Eduardo Cunha has lost the partial immunity from prosecution that comes with being an elected representative.
In March 2015, Eduardo Cunha stated that he did not have “any type of account anywhere that is not declared on my income tax”.
However, the Swiss authorities later gave information to a corruption inquiry in Brazil stating that Eduardo Cunha and his wife, Claudia Cruz, were beneficiaries of secret accounts worth about $5 million.
Every four years, it’s time for the American public to vote on their next president. But in the months before the November election, presidential candidates do their best to both distinguish themselves and highlight their opponent’s weaknesses. To say the least, the campaign trail is nothing short of being grueling, competitive and inspirational (at times). It is on the campaign trail that we often learn a candidate’s stances on things like the economy, foreign policy, human rights, education and many other topics. In the early months of the campaign, it’s great to see who decides to run for president. But, as time passes, we also get to see the selection process work and narrow down to the last two candidates.
Today, in the race for the upcoming presidency, either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump will become the next President of the United States. Their campaigns are drastically different—you couldn’t get two different people on opposite political spectrums. So come this November, it’ll be interesting to see whom the general public will vote for. Who do you personally stand besides? What changes do you hope to see? These questions are important and will help determine the future of the United States.
Regardless of who wins, keep in mind that history is filled with surprises and startling revelations. This infographic explores many facts that are both not commonly know and are enlightening. Our former leaders were an interesting bunch—full of everyday struggles like everybody else. And while it takes a certain type of person to become president, it’s neat to know who they really are as individuals.
Samsung shares dropped more than 6% on September 12 after the South Korean company urged users not to use its flagship Galaxy Note 7 phone and exchange the device due to fears it might catch fire.
The company hit a two-month low after recalling 2.5 million phones last week following reports of the Galaxy Note 7 exploding during or after charging.

Airline passengers were warned by the FAA not to use or charge the phones while on board.
Aviation authorities in several other countries and individual airlines have since then also banned the use of the devices on their flights.
Samsung had already said it would replace all devices that customers would hand in.
According to the company, battery problems were behind the phones catching fire, but Samsung said it was difficult to work out which phones were affected among those sold.
The Galaxy Note 7 was launched last month and has been otherwise generally well-received by consumers and critics.
Several NFL players have joined Colin Kaepernick in protesting about racial inequality on the NFL’s opening weekend, which also marked the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
San Francisco 49er Colin Kaepernick’s refusal to stand for the national anthem at the start of each game in pre-season has divided opinion.
While many have backed Colin Kaepernick, others say he is disrespecting the American flag.
However, several players raised fists or knelt to support Colin Kaepernick’s aim to highlight oppression of black people.

Kansas City Chiefs players also locked arms to show unity while the player at the end of their line, Marcus Peters, raised a black-gloved fist – a gesture reminiscent of US sprinters Tommie Smith and John Carlos as they stood on the podium following their 200m final at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City.
“It was our goal to be unified as a team and to be respectful of everyone’s opinions, and the remembrance of 9/11.
“It’s our job as professional athletes to make a positive impact on our communities and to be proactive when change is needed,” a statement from the Chiefs players after the game said.
Miami Dolphins player Jelani Jenkins said: “I chose to get involved to see if I could create change, raise awareness.
“I want to make it clear that there is no disrespect to the military or to police officers – I’m not about that.
“I would like to keep moving forward in the right direction with everybody: equal rights, equal opportunity. From my position, it doesn’t seem that it’s happening. That’s why I took a stand.”
Seattle Seahawks players and staff had been in talks before their game to discuss how best to show support, and wide receiver Doug Baldwin said they wanted to meet with the mayor of Seattle and local law enforcement.
“We know that there has to be change and progress, but you got to apply direction to change,” he said.
In the late game, New England Patriots’ Martellus Bennett and Devin McCourty both held up their right arms, while team-mate Danny Amendola was seen to grab the unfurled American flag on the field during the anthem.
In September 8 season-opener between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers, Denver linebacker Brandon Marshall knelt during the national anthem.

Hillary Clinton has decided to cancel her campaign trip to California after being diagnosed with pneumonia.
The Democratic presidential nominee was taken ill yesterday at a 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York City and was seen stumbling as she left the event early.
Hillary Clinton’s team initially said she was “overheated”, later revealing she had been diagnosed on September 9 with pneumonia.
Her doctor said she was now re-hydrated and “recovering nicely”.
Hillary Clinton was due to leave for California on September 12 for a two-day trip that included fundraisers, a speech on the economy, and an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Dr. Lisa Bardack, Hillary Clinton’s personal physician, said: “Secretary Clinton has been experiencing a cough related to allergies. On Friday, during follow-up evaluation of her prolonged cough, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She was put on antibiotics, and advised to rest and modify her schedule.”
On September 11, video showed Hillary Clinton being supported by aides as she entered a van to leave the 9/11 ceremony after an hour and 30 minutes.
Hillary Clinton was taken to her daughter’s flat in New York’s Flatiron building and re-emerged later in the day, telling reporters: “I’m feeling great. It’s a beautiful day in New York.”
She then left for her home in Chappaqua, New York.
Hilalry Clinton’s Republican opponents have queried her physical fitness. She suffered coughing fit last week at a campaign event in Cleveland, Ohio which fuelled speculation about her condition.
Last month, Dr. Lisa Bardack said in a letter that Hillary Clinton was “in excellent health and fit to serve as president of the United States”. She made a full recovery from surgery she underwent in 2012 for a blood clot, the doctor added.
However, Republican rival Donald Trump has repeatedly suggested Hillary Clinton is unfit, telling supporters last month she “lacks the mental and physical stamina” to serve as president.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign has accused opponents of pushing a “deranged conspiracy about Clinton’s health”.
The Democratic candidate is 68 while her Republican opponent is 70.
Donald Trump has not published his medical records. Instead the New York businessman released a note, in which his doctor declared that he would be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency”.
Donald Trump’s team has not yet made any comment on Hillary Clinton’s pneumonia diagnosis.
According to South Korean officials, North Korea could be ready to conduct another nuclear test at any time.
North Korea conducted its fifth underground nuclear test on September 9, thought to be its most powerful yet.
A South Korean defense ministry spokesman said there was still an unused tunnel at the Punggye-ri test site which could be used for a sixth explosion at any time.
Last week’s widely condemned test has ratcheted up tension and led to fierce rhetoric from South Korea.
On September 11, one South Korean military source told the Yonhap news agency that Pyongyang could be annihilated if it showed any signs of mounting a nuclear attack.

While doubts remain over North Korea’s claim that it can now mount nuclear warheads on ballistic rockets – meaning it can carry out a nuclear attack – experts say the recent progress is worrying.
On September 12, Yonhap cited an unnamed government source as saying reports indicated the North had finished preparations for a further test, in previously unused tunnel at the Punggye-ri site deep underneath mountains in the north-east.
“Intelligence authorities in Seoul and Washington are keeping close tabs,” the unnamed government official was quoted as saying.
Defense ministry spokesperson Moon Sang-gyun later gave a similar statement to reporters. He would not give further details citing security reasons.
The UN Security Council has already agreed to start drawing up new sanctions against North Korea, something the North called “laughable”.
Pyongyang has carried out two nuclear tests in 2016, as well as several tests of powerful missiles. Both are banned by existing sanctions.
On September 12, Japan’s Kyodo news agency reported that North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho had arrived in Beijing.
China is North Korea’s main ally and trading partner, but has grown increasingly intolerant of its military actions and Kim Jong-un’s aggressive rhetoric.
China’s support for toughened sanctions is crucial if they are to have any impact.
The Profs is a London-based tuition company that started up a couple of years back. They targeted the university market and immediately got a lot of interest from students. What was strange about the Prof’s experience was that getting the students wasn’t the problem. The problem was getting the tutors.
University tutors didn’t want to be associated with a startup that didn’t have an office. And so, in the beginning, it was hard. After a while, the company grew and could finally afford to rent offices in the middle of London. Recently, it was a runner-up in the Guardian’s startup of the year competition.
The experience of the Profs mirrors that of so many other startup businesses. It’s hard to get traction in an industry with so many entrenched players. It is also difficult to get around the problem that startups often look amateurish to customers. They’re not, of course. But they don’t have the marketing clout to convince people otherwise. So what can startups do to make themselves appear bigger and badder than they actually are?
Your startup doesn’t necessarily have to enter the Guardian’s startup competition if it doesn’t want to. But it’s a good idea to apply for awards if you get the chance. Industry and professional awards help to build credibility with your customers. And some awards bring significant cachet to your emerging brand.
Remember, in the beginning; your company needs as many endorsements as it can get. And so the praise of a professional body should be at the top of your marketing priority list.
Not every startup can afford a swanky office in the middle of London. Most can barely afford to move out of their bedrooms. But customers don’t need to know that. After all, where precisely companies do their work doesn’t affect the quality of their product. It does, however, change customer perceptions, as the example above highlights. As a result, savvy companies use a mail forwarding service provider.
These services work on a simple principle. Startups advertise as having a particular address, usually in a desirable location. And then the mail is forwarded from that site to their home office or another place of work. This way, they end up looking much bigger than they actually are.
Be Hard To Get
Many people imagine that people working on startups are rushed off their feet with all the things they have to do. But the truth is that they’re rarely inundated. Most of the time their calendar is rather empty. Letting on that this is the case, however, is rarely a good idea. It says to the client that your services are not in high demand.
Instead of advertising that you have loads of free time, tell the customer that you’ll try to fit them into your hectic schedule. If you want to speak to them on the same day, say that you have an “opening” this afternoon. Otherwise, book them in for the day after tomorrow.
Even the savviest of entrepreneurs can’t do it all themselves. We all know that. But do we all know that sometimes it isn’t the smartest option to rely on your staff to do it, either? Employees are a big cost in any business. A lot of the time, it can be economically smarter, as well as safer, to go outside the business. To get someone else to do it. Here, we’ll consider when you should think about outsourcing.
Very few people have the skills necessary to create a great looking brand or a cohesive, effective website. Naturally, outsourcing should be used primarily to make use of skills you don’t have. It’s also a sure-fire way to find those who are well known for the quality of their work. A good portion of web designers and graphic designers are freelancers. It’s easier to find that quality work in outsourcing than trying to directly employ them.
Expert tasks
It’s not just the artistic types that you want to ensure you get the best quality of work from. When it comes to certain expert tasks, the kind that require years of training, a wrong hire can be disastrous. Sometimes you don’t want to take the risk of entrusting important parts of the business to untested individuals. That’s why so many businesses begin by outsourcing their IT management services.
Temporary tasks
It’s not always about how vital a task or how skilled the hire needs to be, either. Sometimes, it just doesn’t make as much sense to pay a full paycheck for someone who’s only doing a task you need for a short period of time. For example, if you want to start training and expanding the skills of your workers. It can be a lot easier to simply hire someone in to train them then be on their merry way again.
Time-consuming tasks
There are tasks on the other side of the spectrum entirely, of course. There are those tasks that need to get done but take up a considerably long amount of time. Those are man-hours that your skilled team could better use on the tasks that actually make you money. For example, we all know how social media marketing is important. But a lot of us who have dipped into that water know it can be a big drain on time. That’s why it’s another of the more commonly outsourced tasks.
Accounting
If you want a specific example of when you should definitely rely on outsourced expertise, then your accounts are where you need to start. Money is the lifeblood of the business and it’s harder to manage than many recognise. But accountants do more than that. They can also help you spot opportunities you’ve never considered and avoid risks. A long-term accountant can be a valuable ally indeed.
Spend less time on tasks that don’t make you money. Make sure you get experts. Don’t hire for short-term jobs. These are some of the biggest reasons you should let someone else take the wheel.

Hillary Clinton later left for her home in Chappaqua, New York, according to her campaign.
A video posted on Twitter purports to show Hillary Clinton being supported by aides at the 9/11 ceremony before being helped into her van.
The statement from the Clinton campaign said: “Secretary Clinton attended the September 11th Commemoration Ceremony for just an hour and thirty minutes this morning to pay her respects and greet some of the families of the fallen.
“During the ceremony, she felt overheated so departed to go to her daughter’s apartment, and is feeling much better.”
The weather was warm and humid in New York on September 11, and there was a breeze during the ceremony, the Associated Press reports.
Hillary Clinton came to the ceremony fresh from a political storm over comments she made about Donald Trump’s supporters at a fundraiser on September 9.
On September 10, she had apologized for suggesting half of the Republican’s supporters were “deplorables”.
Hillary Clinton is next due to appear on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on September 14 and attend a rally in Las Vegas on the same day.
Services marking the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks have taken place in New York and around the world.
Passions are high just over two weeks before the first election debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on September 26.
