If you find yourself counting down the minutes to bedtime as soon as you wake, yawning your way through the working day and struggling to stay awake on the journey home, you are not alone. As many as one in five of us feel unusually tired at any one time.
If you feel constantly fatigued, you will know that carrying out even the simplest of tasks can be difficult. Your quality of life is diminished as you struggle to enjoy your usual activities, such as playing sports, reading a good book or spending time with loved ones. To resolve your problem, you first need to determine its cause. To help you, here are five energy-sappers that may be to blame:
1. Lack of sleep
It may seem obvious but lack of sleep can have a disastrous effect on your energy levels. The amount of sleep you require varies depending on age, lifestyle and health. Just because six hours of sleep has sufficed for you in the past doesn’t mean it will be all you need forever. If you suspect you are not getting enough sleep, try to change your routine by winding down and going to bed earlier or setting your morning alarm later. It may be useful to stop watching television, using computers, phones and tablet devices and finish any work you’ve taken home well in advance of bedtime to improve the quality of your sleep.
Five reasons you’re tired all the time
2. Poor diet
Not eating a balanced diet can lead to many problems, including tiredness. It is important to get the right quantities of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals if you are to feel at your best. Try to get at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day and eat starches, such as potatoes, pasta and bread, for slow-release energy. Avoid quick fixes like caffeine and sugar as once the temporary energy boost has subsided, you will end up feeling even more tired. If you think you are not getting enough of a particular vitamin or mineral, you may want to visit your GP to arrange a blood test to find out if you are suffering from any deficiencies.
3. Exercising too much or too little
Excessive exercise can cause you to feel drained but so too can getting too little exercise. Assessing your activity levels relative to your diet can help you to determine if you are overdoing it or need to move about more. If you are just starting to exercise after a long period of time, build up your activity levels gradually to avoid exhaustion. It is recommended that healthy adults get 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise per week.
4. Drinking too much
Too much alcohol can leave you feeling sluggish and struggling to focus the following day. If you regularly binge drink and often exceed 2-3 units per day if you’re a woman or 3-4 units a day if you’re a man, consider reducing your alcohol intake. Not only will this help you to boost your energy levels, but it will also improve your overall health. If you are concerned about how much you are drinking or are finding it difficult to cut down, you should seek the advice of your GP.
5. Health conditions
There are a number of health conditions that can leave you feeling worn out. If you find yourself tired, gaining weight, being sensitive to the cold, and depressed for no apparent reason, you may have an underactive thyroid. If you are lethargic, short of breath, pale and experiencing heart palpitations, you may be suffering from iron-deficiency anemia. The symptoms of type 2 diabetes also includes extreme tiredness, as well as needing to pass urine more frequently and losing weight unexpectedly. These conditions need to be diagnosed and treated by a GP, so if you are experiencing any of these symptoms you should book an appointment.
If you are experiencing pain from an illness or long-term condition, such as sciatica, joint pain or arthritis, you may find that your sleep is interrupted more regularly. To make life easier, you might want to consider investing in a orthopedic bed. Adjustable Beds provide a range of adjustable beds which utilize cutting-edge cyclo-therapy systems which can help to relieve a range of health conditions that can spoil your sleep and interfere with your energy levels.

Like millions of other Americans, food was Jackson Galaxy’s first addiction, something he continues to battle today.

The tipping point for the 48-year-old came when he tipped the scales at 400 pounds and almost died.
According to catwisdom101.com website, gastric-bypass surgery saved Jackson Galaxy as did A.A.
Jackson Galaxy now tries to eat healthier, exercises, stopped smoking.
The cat behaviorist never talked about his weight loss.

Dr. Mehmet Oz offered to help “drain the swamp” of unscrupulous marketers using his name to peddle so-called miracle pills and cure-alls to millions of Americans desperate to lose weight.
He appeared before the Senate’s consumer protection panel and was scolded by Chairman Claire McCaskill for claims he made about weight-loss aids on his TV show, The Dr. Oz Show.
Dr. Oz, a cardiothoracic surgeon, acknowledged that his language about green coffee and other supplements has been “flowery” and promised to publish a list of specific products he thinks can help America shed pounds and get healthy – beyond eating less and moving more. On his show, Dr. Oz never endorsed specific companies or brands but more generally praised some supplements as fat busters.
Dr. Oz has no association with the green coffee company and received no money from sales
Claire McCaskill took Dr. Oz to task for a 2012 show in which he proclaimed that green coffee extract was a “magic weight loss cure for every body type”.
Dr. Oz insisted he believes in the supplements he talks about on his show as short-term crutches, and even has his family try them. But there’s no long-term miracle pill out there without diet and exercise, he said.
Within weeks of Dr. Oz’s comments about green coffee – which refers to the unroasted seeds or beans of coffee – a Florida-based operation began marketing a dietary supplement called Pure Green Coffee, with claims that the chlorogenic acid found in the coffee beans could help people lose 17 pounds and cut body fat by 16% in 22 weeks.
The company, according to federal regulators, featured footage from The Dr. Oz Show, to sell its supplement.
Dr. Oz has no association with the company and received no money from sales.
Last month, the Federal Trade Commission sued the sellers behind Pure Green Coffee and accused them of making bogus claims and deceiving consumers.

The restaurateur posted a photo of himself from the event to his Instagram account on Monday, captioning the shot: “Celebrating the premier of #MasterChef by running my first #10K.”
The new season of the FOX show kicked off on the same day.
Graham Elliot went on to recognize his MasterChef co-hosts, Gordon Ramsay and Joe Bastianich, writing: “Thx @gordanramsay @jbastianich for the support and encourage!”
The slimmed-down star, who completed his 10K in a reported time of 1 hour and 16 minutes, peaked at close to 400 pounds, before undergoing weight loss surgery.
In 2013, Graham Elliot chose to receive a sleeve gastrectomy, which aided in his weight loss.
According to US researchers, a defective gene linked to obesity appears to affect impulse control and food choices.
This could explain why people with the gene have so much trouble maintaining a healthy weight as they age.
Middle-aged and older people with obesity-associated variants of the FTO gene tend to gain weight, according to researchers from the National Institutes of Health. Moreover, scans detected reduced function in brain regions that govern impulsivity and perception of food texture and taste, the researchers found.
“Sure enough, people who carry one or two copies of the FTO variant show increased intake of high-calorie or fatty food as they age,” said senior author Dr. Madhav Thambisetty, chief of clinical and translational neuroscience at the National Institute on Aging’s Laboratory of Behavioral Neuroscience.
“There may be a common biological factor underlying both the risk for obesity during aging as well as obesity-related behavior like your ability to resist impulse eating,” Madhav Thambisetty said.
Many studies have tied certain versions of the FTO gene to chronic obesity, but doctors have struggled to determine why the gene affects a person’s risk of obesity, said Ruth Loos, director of the genetics of obesity and related metabolic traits program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
Middle-aged and older people with obesity-associated variants of the FTO gene tend to gain weight
“These types of studies are important to disentangle the mechanism of why FTO is associated with obesity, but it’s only one piece of a huge puzzle,” Ruth Loos said.
In the US, more than one-third of adults aged 65 and over are obese, according to background information in the study.
About 45% of people in this study had at least one copy of the pro-obesity FTO variant, Dr. Madhav Thambisetty said, which tracks with the white population in the US. About 16% of people had two copies of the gene, which confers an even greater risk of obesity.
The study focused on nearly 700 participants, including 69 people who agreed to annual PET scans to gather additional information regarding their brain structure and function. At the start of the study, average age was 46. All were participating in the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging, one of the longest running studies of human aging in North America.
They first confirmed that body mass index increased in those with one or two copies of the FTO gene variant. They then compared brain PET scans of patients with the FTO variant with scans of non-carriers, looking for differences in brain function over time.
They found people with the gene variant had reduced function in their medial prefrontal cortex, a region thought to be important in controlling impulses and response to the taste and texture of food.
In a final step, the team reviewed data gathered on participants’ personality and diet. The group at increased genetic risk for obesity showed a greater tendency to impulsivity as well as a greater intake of fatty foods during aging.
The effect appears to increase with the number of copies.
“We see a dose effect, where these changes in impulsivity or a preference for fatty foods increase with multiple copies of the gene,” Dr. Madhav Thambisetty said.
The findings are published May 27 in the journal Molecular Psychiatry.
If these results pan out in additional studies, they mean that people who have a greater genetic risk of obesity face an uphill battle to maintain a healthy weight.
However, a genetic predisposition to obesity does not mean one is doomed to obesity.
“You may be genetically susceptible, but by living a healthy lifestyle you can overcome your genetics,” Ruth Loos said.
“You are not destined to be obese.”
Dr. Madhav Thambisetty agreed, noting that previous studies have shown that people can overcome the obesity risk posed by the FTO gene through regular exercise.
According to a new study, only eating breakfast and lunch may be more effective at managing type 2 diabetes than eating smaller, more regular meals.
Researchers in Prague fed two groups of 27 people the same calorie diet spread over two or six meals a day.
They found volunteers who ate two meals a day lost more weight than those who ate six, and their blood sugar dropped.
Experts said the study supported “existing evidence” that fewer, larger meals were the way forward.
Only eating breakfast and lunch may be more effective at managing type 2 diabetes than eating smaller, more regular meals
Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body does not produce enough of the hormone insulin, which controls the amount of sugar in the blood, meaning blood sugar levels become too high.
If untreated, it can lead to heart disease and stroke, nerve damage, light-sensitive eyes and kidney disease.
Scientists at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Prague divided a group of 54 volunteers aged 30 to 70 with type 2 diabetes into two groups of 27 people.
Volunteers were then given either a six-meal-a-day diet (A6) for 12 weeks followed by a two-meal day diet (B2), or vice versa.
The study compared two meals with six meals – as the latter accorded with current practice advice in the Czech Republic, researchers said.
Each diet contained on average 1,700 calories a day.
The B2 group ate between 06:00 and 10:00 and then between 12:00 and 16:00, and the A6 group ate their food throughout the day.
Weight loss for the B2 group averaged 1.4 kg (3lb) more than A6, and they lost about 4 cm (1.5 in) more from their waistlines.
Lead scientist Dr. Hana Kahleova, at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine, said the results were “very pleasing”.
She said: “The patients were really afraid they would get hungry in the evening but feelings of hunger were lower as the patients ate until they were satisfied.
“But when they ate six times a day the meals were not leaving them feeling satisfied. It was quite surprising.”
Dr. Hana Kahleova said the study could apply to people without diabetes who were trying to lose weight.

According to a study published in the European Journal of Obesity, most people weigh the most on Monday mornings and the least by Friday.
The new study found that you are more likely to gain weight during the weekend and lose it throughout the week.
Eighty men and women recorded their weight every morning before breakfast for nearly a year. When researchers examined the numbers, they identified a distinct trend for weight gain on weekends and weight loss during the weeks.
However, researchers found that what sets people who ultimately lose weight throughout the year apart from those who gain is that losers shed more pounds during the weekdays. They are also more likely to adhere to this pattern than those who gain – losers hit their lowest weight around Friday 74% of the time.
Jessica Simpson has debuted her official post-baby beach body via Twitter.
Jessica Simpson, 33, retweeted a picture of herself wearing a one-piece white bathing suit while gearing up to shoot ads for her Jessica Simpson Collection on Friday, November 15.
“Guess which mama I get to play dress up with today?” Jessica Simpson’s stylist Nicole Chavez wrote. Shortly after, Simpson retweeted the photo and added: “;) @JSCollection.”

In the hazy photo, Jessica Simpson shows off her svelte physique while sitting outside poolside in a cleavage-baring suit. She’s also seen arching her back while placing her right hand on top of concrete surrounding the water, with her blonde locks down and swept to the right side concealing her face.
The mother of daughter Maxwell, 19 months and son Ace, 5 months, has been working out since giving birth to her baby boy in June.
One week earlier, Jessica Simpson shared a picture of herself while working with Weight Watchers.
Weight Watchers previously helped Jessica Simpson drop 70 pounds after giving birth to Maxwell in May 2012.
Jessica Simpson has showed off her post-baby body once again in a new picture while working with Weight Watchers on November 8.
“Couldn’t stop smiling on set for my new @weightwatchers campaign today! #happy,” she wrote.

After being bullied and called fat throughout her pregnancy with baby North West, newly svelte Kim Kardashian was proudly flaunting her famous curves during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
Speaking with Jay Leno about the fat-shaming she endured while pregnant, Kim Kardashian, 33, said she took the criticism to heart.
“It really hurt my soul,” she confessed.
“It changed how I am in public. I’ve tried to live more of a private life.”
Kim Kardashian and her fiancé Kanye West kept a low profile after the June birth of their baby daughter. But now that the new mom has shed 50 lbs via the Atkins diet she’s feeling more confident.
Last week, on her 33rd birthday, Kanye West surprised her with an elaborate marriage proposal and a huge cushion-cut diamond ring.
“I’m very happy right now,” Kim Kardashian told Jay Leno.

“[The proposal] was the most magical night of my life.”
“I want [Kanye West] to have whatever he wants,” Kim Kardashian told Jay Leno of her fiancé, noting that “someplace Parisian” might be nice for their wedding.
The couple are “hoping for next summer,” the reality star added, but they “haven’t had time to sit down and talk about it.”
One thing they have talked about is whether she will change her famous name. As Kanye West revealed earlier this week, Kim Kardashian plans to take her husband’s last name though she’ll keep Kardashian as her middle name.
“It’ll definitely be West,” Kim Kardashian said of the name change.
“My daughter’s name is West, and we’re a family.”
Speaking of little North, nicknamed “Nori,” Kim Kardashian couldn’t help but gush.
“She’s the sweetest little girl. She never cries,” the proud mom bragged of her 4-month-old daughter.
“She’s a perfect little angel. I hope she grows up to be smart and opinionated like her dad,” Kim Kardashian added.
Christina Aguilera has revealed her weight loss plan after shedding 30 lbs off her small frame.
In addition to limiting alcohol, Christina Aguilera, 32, now avoids unhealthy favorites like Nate ‘n Al’s restaurant, a place with everything from chocolate chip pancakes to corned beef.

Chaz Bono looked half his former size as he stepped out in West Hollywood, California, on Wednesday.
Chaz Bono, 44, started his weight loss journey in 2011 after starring on Dancing With The Stars.
At the time, Chaz Bono weighed a staggering 253 lbs despite being only 5 ft 5.
It was not until November the following year, however that Chaz Bono really committed to losing weight in and just nine months later had dropped over 70 lbs – ten more pounds than his goal weight.
Now it appears Chaz Bono may have lost even more weight showing off his defined arms and much flatter stomach as he arrived for class at Anthony Meindl’s actors workshop.
Chaz Bono did reveal one of his secrets to weight loss as he went to feed his meter – a bottle of water made to taste better with, no doubt low calorie, orange flavoring.
His other secret has been dedicating himself to diet and exercise as well as using recently FDA approved obesity drug Qsymia under the supervision of a doctor.
Chaz Bono sought medical help as he required doctors to work out a way for him to lose weight while continuing to take male hormones following his gender reassignment surgery.
He was already over the moon with his weight loss back in May, when he had dropped 60 lbs.
Chaz Bono told Peoplelosing the weight had changed his life and his health.
“I just have a lot more confidence, and that feels really cool. I really like what I see in the mirror.
“Physically, my body feels just so much better I’m in a lot less discomfort when I exercise and am doing physical stuff. All of my numbers are all normal now, which is great – my blood pressure, my cholesterol.”
Jessica Simpson famously struggled to shed her baby weight after piling on 60 lbs while pregnant with her first child, baby Maxwell.
And despite gaining half that amount the second time around, Jessica Simpson is apparently having just as much of a battle with the bulge.
According to reports, Jessica Simpson “feels really, really frustrated” with her weight loss post-pregnancy.
A source told OK! Magazine that slimming down “has been really difficult this time around” and added that the singer turned Fashion Star mentor “would just rather play with her kids than work out”.
“She feels really guilty whenever she leaves them,” the insider explained.
Jessica Simpson famously struggled to shed her baby weight after piling on 60 lbs while pregnant with her first child
Jessica Simpson, 33, gave birth to son Ace Knute on June 30, just 14 months after welcoming her daughter Maxwell Drew into the world.
And her fiancé Eric Johnson has apparently been very supportive about her taking a slower approach than many celebrity mothers, who result to drastic measures to lose the weight quickly.
“He tells her to stop putting so much pressure on herself,” the source said.
“He says that they can work out together, cook together, and the weight will drop right off.”
The insider added that the retired NFL tight end “is so happy with his family” and “doesn’t care about the weight as much as Jessica does”.
Jessica Simpson also has support in the form of her trainer Harley Pasternak, who according to reports is encouraging her to shed the excess pounds slowly but surely.
Harley Pasternak “reminds her it took her a long time to put on the weight – she had two back-to-back pregnancies,” the source said.
Kim Kardashian claimed that she was unable to attend little sister Kendall Jenner’s sweet sixteen over the weekend because she couldn’t find a babysitter for her baby daughter North West.
However, a new report inUs Weekly suggests that Kim Kardashian, whose famous figure has helped build her a multi-million dollar empire, is still too self conscious to reveal her post-pregnancy figure.
Sources close to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West say the 32-year-old, who is already said to have lost 30 lbs, is still attempting to lose another 30 off her frame.
And until she reaches that goal, fans of buxom beauty will not be seeing Kim Kardashian anytime soon.
The new mother has reportedly refused to step out in public until she looks “hot”.
“She’s extremely self-conscious about her current body,” a source told Us Weekly.
“She said when she comes out and gets photographed for the first time, she wants to look hot, hot, hot.”
While Kim Kardashian has already shed an impressive 30 lbs from her post-pregnancy frame, it is said that her weight loss has now slowed down and she is now “obsessed” to get to the final stretch.
Kim Kardashian refuses to go back into the spotlight until she reaches 115 lbs goal weight
“The weight is not coming off as quickly. She plateaued. This is the hard part now,” another Kardashian source told Us Weekly.
“She’s always complaining about her size. She says she hates looking this way and won’t go out again until she is skinnier,” a pal of Kanye West added to the magazine.
In order to get camera ready, Kim Kardashian has reportedly enlisted the aid of a trainer who visits her at her mother Kris Jenner’s home five times a week.
She is also said to be on an extremely strict diet.
While she cooks “homemade fried chicken and mac ‘n’ cheese” for Kanye West, a chef is apparently cooking Kim Kardashian low-calorie dishes such as grilled lemon chicken.
One source told the magazine that Kim Kardashian believes it will be several more weeks before she reaches her goal weight of 115 lbs and it is only then when she will make her big reveal to the world.
“She thinks it will take her at least another month and a half to get to where she wants to be,” a source told the magazine.
“Only when she’s there will she start thinking about showing her body to the world.”
In the interim, one of her biggest supporters, rapper Kanye West, continues to try and boost her body confidence by heaping praise on the reality star.
“Kanye tells her she’s beautiful. He wants to boost her confidence and goes out of his way so she doesn’t have to ask. But it wears Kanye out to hear her being down on herself.’”
One thing that is keeping her mind off her post-pregnancy figure is her precious baby North West.
Kim Kardashian, who friends and family say has taken to motherhood like a duck to water, is relishing in her new role.
According to Us Weekly, Kim Kardashian is already having a ball dressing her little girl up in designer clothing.
“[North] already had an incredible wardrobe,” a Kardashian insider told the magazine.
“She wears Roberto Cavalli and also has such beautiful jewelry – rubies, pearls, diamonds, everything.”
Snooki has lost a dramatic 50 lbs since giving birth to her first child Lorenzo Dominic LaValle in August last year.
It seems Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is finally feeling beach body confident, as she took to the shores of New Jersey on Monday to show off the results of her incredible hard work.
Walking hand in hand with her fiance Jionni LaValle who held their baby son Lorenzo close to him, Snooki looked completely at ease as she flaunted her slimline figure in a high-waisted bikini on the public beach in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
Snooki has lost a dramatic 50 lbs since giving birth to her first child Lorenzo Dominic LaValle in August last year
In March this year, Snooki commented on her weight loss, saying: “If I can lose 42 lbs. after giving birth six months [ago], I mean, anybody could do it.”
“You just need the dedication, and you need to want to have your body back.”
Now it seems that the 4ft 8in frame star is loving the end result, enjoying the sun in her two-piece bathing suit.
She arrived at the beach with her family wearing a pretty white dress, but as the heat intensified Snooki, 25, had no qualms about getting her bikini body out on display.
After losing a dramatic amount of weight over the past year, Snooki has of course received criticism from people who feel she has taken her weight loss too far.
In response, Snooki took to Twitter last month to tell people she was happy and that was what is important.
She tweeted: “Everyone’s saying the <<new fit me>> isn’t what I’m suppose to look what. I wasn’t always a fata** kids. Get used to my fitlife, cause I love IT.”
Snooki gave birth to her son in August last year, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey.
Honey Boo Boo’s mom, June Shannon, has opened up about putting weight back on after losing 100 lbs, why her family will never diet and her thoughts on getting Botox.
Mama June, 33, has also revealed that her daughter Alana Thompson (aka Honey Boo Boo), 7, is losing her “baby fat”.
The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo matriarch told InTouch: “I gain a couple of pounds back and then I lose them. But even if I gained the whole 100 pounds back, I’d be play with it.”
“A lot of larger people beat themselves up when they gain, but I’m really happy with myself.”
Mama June also revealed that her children, Anna, 18, Jessica, 16, Lauryn, 13, and Honey Boo Boo have lost weight too.
“They’ve all lost some weight too, but it’s just because we’ve been so busy. And Alana’s growing up and losing her baby fat!”
However, June Shannon – who grabbed attention for her signature dish of “sketti” – refuses to put her family on a diet.
“We eat what we like. I’m not trying to cook whatever’s cool. I cook what my family wants me to cook!”
June Shannon admits weight gain after losing 100 lbs
Earlier this year, June Shannon said that she had tipped the scales at 365 lbs before she started filming her TLC series and at the beginning of this year she weighed a lighter 263lbs.
Mama June said at the time: “With the show I’ve been more active. They have me running around and going different places… I guess it’s paying off.”
“I haven’t done any surgeries… no diet pills… never went to the gym,” she insisted.
In a recent interview June Shannon said: “Hell no!” when she was asked if she was a fan of Botox.
On Here Comes Honey Boo Boo reality series June Shannon is regularly seen tucking into giant plates of food, with her favorite family dish being Sketti – a saucy combination of spaghetti, ketchup and butter.
A recent episode also showed how Mama June’s Thanksgiving menu featuring 15 cans of vegetables, 12 cans of cranberry sauce and a large turkey coated with a gallon of butter.
“Just like all my other recipes, butter and sugar makes everything taste better,” she exclaimed as she prepared the gut-busting feast.
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo – which is due to return to network TLC this summer – recently gained a new fan in Hollywood movie star Johnny Depp.
“Here Comes Honey Boo Boo… I could be called a fan,” Johnny Depp revealed this month.
Here Comes Honey BooBoo Season 2 premieres with a double on Tuesday 23rd July 2013, 9 PM on TLC.
Chaz Bono’s recent effort to lose weight and tone up has paid off as he’s been showing off a slimmer figure over the last couple of months.
Wearing a pair of bright red sports shorts, Chaz Bono, 44, looked like he was enjoying a casual day which involved a spot of shopping.
Chaz Bono’s recent effort to lose weight and tone up has paid off as he’s been showing off a slimmer figure over the last couple of months
As he retrieved a number of shopping bags from his car without his top on, his tattooed torso could be seen as well as the scars on his chest.
The only child of music legends Sonny and Cher, Chaz Bono was spotted earlier this year looking slightly worse for wear after suffering injuries whilst shedding 60 lbs of weight.
However, with the injuries behind him the Dancing With The Stars contestant certainly has managed to keep off the weight.
This has no doubt been helped by him starring in a 30 minute musical adaptation of Independence Day alongside Brooke Seguin, that certainly keeps him on his toes.
Vanessa Lachey has revealed that she put on 65 lbs whilst pregnant with her son Camden.
In the nine months since he was born, Vanessa Lachey has since shed the weight.
Vanessa Lachey, 32, says she did not do it with the help of a fad diet or crazed exercise regime.
She says she simply just “let it happen” and that happiness is the key to her healthy lifestyle.
“I gained, I think, 65 pounds when I was pregnant,” Vanessa Lachey said in an interview with HuffPo Live.
“And I will say to moms out there, <<Don’t stress about losing it. It will happen when it happens>>.
Vanessa Lachey has revealed that she put on 65 lbs whilst pregnant with her son Camden
“Cam’s 9 months, so it’s been a minute, and we’re working, and we’re traveling, and it’s just about maintaining a happy, healthy lifestyle, not obsessing about it.”
Vanessa Lachey stresses that the “get thin quick” tactic is a waste of time and new mothers should more be concentrating on and spending time with their newborns.
“I think that’s one thing I would like to convey to moms everywhere,” she continued.
“It’s not about this <<get skinny quick>> diet or these fads. Just enjoy time being a mom. You’ve just had this wonderful, magical moment, and you shouldn’t be stressing about that kind of stuff.”
But Vanessa Lachey does rave about the slimming effects of Spanx, praising the individual who created them in the process.
“If you’re really worried, Spanx are amazing,” she joked.
“Thank you to the inventor of that.”
Vanessa also took time out in the interview to praise her husband 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey.
“He was born to be a daddy,” she said.
Vanessa Lachey has been in the audience several times when her husband has performed with his boy band 98 Degrees, who are currently on tour with Boyz II Men and New Kids on the Block for The Package Tour.
Christina Aguilera showed off her thin frame in a tight skirt and cropped top for her spirited performance of Feel This Moment with rapper Pitbull during The Voice Season 4 finale on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
Christina Aguilera, 32, looked incredible in a skintight bandage black skirt and a sparkly silver top that revealed her hot pink bra underneath.
The singer added a boost of height to her 5ft 2in frame with sky high black peep-toe heels and accessorized with giant diamond earrings.
Christina Aguilera wore her platinum blonde hair in glamorous curls over her one shoulder and opted for a smokey eye and nude lips.
She made quite a grand entrance: Pitbull stood onstage and started his rap, until Christina Aguilera appeared on a raised platform to hysterical screams from the crowd.
The set turned into a disco scene with multi-colored lights and a lit-up stage.
Christina Aguilera appeared to hit a few flat notes and the star was seen touching her earpiece periodically.
The pair’s lively performance ended with colorful confetti and ribbons raining down onto the stage.
Christina Aguilera’s super-slim appearance was a far cry from what she looked like back in November at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles.
Sources told Us Weekly that critics motivated her to lose more than 20 lbs in weight.

“A lot of people were on her about her weight and it depressed her,” a friend said.
“She went through a bad time because of the criticism.”
Christina Aguilera reportedly signed up for the 1,600-calorie-a-day Fresh Diet program, which offers users a variety of nutritious food options.
“She did it all on her own,” said the source.
“She goes online and picks out her food.”
Christina Aguilera was always a slender entertainer but after her 2010 divorce from Jordan Bratman she apparently gained 40 lbs by gorging on pizza and living a life of excess.
The singer was also seen enjoying the nightlife with boyfriend Matthew Rutler – her steady man since late 2010 – which no doubt put pounds on her tiny frame.
Prior to her weight loss, in an interview with Lucky magazine, Christina Aguilera said she was totally unrepentant about the way her clothes advertise her assets.
“Actually, the challenge I’ve always had is being too thin, so I love that now I have a booty, and obviously I love showing my cleavage,” she told the magazine.
“Hey, if you can work it and you can own it, that confidence is going to shine through.”
Meanwhile, country singer Danielle Bradbery, 16, was crowned the Season 4 winner of The Voice on Tuesday night.
Michelle Chamuel, 26, finished second and the Swon Brothers, Colton, 24, and Zach, 27 came third.
Danielle Bradberry’s victory marks the third triumph in four seasons for one of judge Blake Shelton’s proteges.
Lady Gaga has shed 30 lbs and displayed her new bikini body while on holiday in Mexico earlier this week.
Lady Gaga, 27, displayed her toned figure in a floral two-piece while soaking up the sunshine with her friends.
Looking back to her confident best, Lady Gaga smiled widely as she was photographed.
Clearly conscious of the strong sun, Lady Gaga teamed the bikini with a wide-brimmed white hat and sunglasses to protect her pale complexion.
Later, Lady Gaga was seen wearing a pair of wide-legged cream trousers over the bikini as she made her way back to her hotel.
Her footwear choice could have been slightly more sensible, however, as the singer was seen wearing a pair of black heeled court shoes, which she them removed to walk along the sands.
The heels were even more inappropriate considering Lady Gaga’s recent operation on her hip back in February for a labral tear.
Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her Born This Way Ball tour and doctors told her to take six months off.

She revealed on Twitter that she dealt with chronic pain for several months prior to seeking medical help, but chose to ignore its effects rather than disappoint her fans.
Lady Gaga’s impressive bikini body comes after some unflattering pictures of her on stage in Amsterdam last September led to the singer revealing she had gained 30 lbs.
Following the shots, Lady Gaga admitted in an interview that she had put on weight, telling Stylist magazine: “I don’t really care if people think I’m fat, because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds.”
Lady Gaga later blamed the weight gain on her restaurant owner father’s cooking.
The singer told radio host Elvis Duran: “I love eating pasta and pizza. I’m a New York Italian girl. That’s why I have been staying out of New York. My father opened a restaurant. It’s so amazing.
“It’s so freaking delicious, but I’m telling you I gain five pounds every time I go in there. So my dad wants me to eat at the restaurant, and I’m, like, I’ve got to go where I can drink green juice.”
Lady Gaga added: “I really don’t feel bad about it, not even for a second. I have to be on such a strict diet constantly. It’s hard because it’s a quite vigorous show, so I tend to bulk up, get muscular, and I really don’t like that. So I’m trying to find a new balance.”
