Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s ex-girlfriend Josie Harris sued him for lying in his interview with Katie Couric prior to his fight with Manny Pacquiao.
Josie Harris is asking for over $20 million in damages for Floyd Mayweather repeatedly knowingly making false statements, TMZ Sports reported.
In his interview with Katie Couric, Floyd Mayweather was asked about the 2010 incident with Josie Harris in which he was accused of viciously attacking her.
Floyd Mayweather later pleaded guilty to reduced misdemeanor charges, leading to a 90-day jail sentence.
He told a much different tale from what the arrest report states.
“Did I kick, stomp and beat someone? No, that didn’t happen,” Floyd Mayweather told Katie Couric.
“I look in your face and say, <<No, that didn’t happen>>. Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did. So if they say that’s domestic violence, then, you know what? I’m guilty. I’m guilty of restraining someone.”
Josie Harris’ lawyer says in the suit that Floyd Mayweather knowingly lied in his interview with Katie Couric to protect his image and help promote his fight with Manny Pacquiao.
Floyd Mayweather accused Josie Harris of being on drugs and claims to have just restrained her, when that is not at all what Harris says happened.
The real story, according to Josie Harris, is that Floyd Mayweather was jealous she was having a relationship with a new man, NBA player C.J. Watson.
He took away Josie Harris’ cellphone, and later attacked her inside her home. Floyd Mayweather paid for the home and had Josie Harris and their three children living there.
“Did he beat me to a pulp? No, but I had bruises on my body and contusions and [a] concussion because the hits were to the back of my head. I believe it was planned to do that … because the bruises don’t show,” Josie Harris said in a 2013 interview with Yahoo.
Floyd Mayweather’s own son, who helped save his mother, even called his father a “coward” for beating up Josie Harris.
This wasn’t the first domestic violence incident between them; Josie Harris accused Floyd Mayweather of beating her up in 2005, but she later dropped the charges and admitted she was lying.
As recently in 2013, Josie Harris posted photo evidence suggesting she and Floyd Mayweather were still sleeping together. As of last year she was still supporting Floyd Mayweather and even got in a fight with one of his other ex-girlfriends.
Meanwhile, Josie Harris has distanced herself from Floyd Mayweather and his controlling ways, and she even is publishing a book about their dysfunctional relationship history.
Josie Harris even appeared to comment on the lawsuit with an Instagram post of a heart and the words, “I’m not sorry” written inside them.

Katie Couric’s documentary Fed Up premiered Sunday at Sundance Film Festival.
Katie Couric linked up with An Inconvenient Truth producer producer Laurie David to make a film that explores the epidemic of childhood obesity and its not-so-obvious causes.
The 57-year-old TV anchor produced and narrates the film.
Katie Couric said she pitched Laurie David her idea over email, “and it took her about 10 seconds to say, <<I’m in>>.”
She said documentaries “are replacing journalism in some cases” because budget cuts and a taste for quick news bites means “nobody invests the time to really investigate some of the biggest social issues”.
“It’s great to have the time and … to know that you don’t have to turn it around in a day, a week or even a month,” she said.
Katie Couric’s documentary Fed Up premiered Sunday at Sundance Film Festival
“You have 93 minutes to really flesh out an issue that deserves that and then some. That is so liberating.”
Fed Up, directed by Stephanie Soechtig, uses historical footage and news events to show the causes and costs of obesity in the US.
“This generation of children is the first to live a shorter life span than their parents, and it has ramifications in every aspect of our lives,” Katie Couric said.
“Talk about skyrocketing health care costs: the obesity epidemic is behind these health care costs. And national security: these people are too heavy to join the military…. It affects so many aspects of our country’s health that we really need to start paying attention.”
Katie Couric said she hopes the film informs people and incites them to action so the food industry might become as accountable for its harmful products as the tobacco industry has.
“We really hope this is going to be a wakeup call,” she said.
Katie Couric also plans to dig into social issues and talk with newsmakers and cultural leaders in her new gig at Yahoo, and she’s not afraid to leave television behind.
Katie Couric and producer The Walt Disney Co. announced Thursday the Katie show will wrap after this season.
They say shuttering the show after its second season was a mutual decision.

Katie Couric announced last month she’s joining Yahoo to anchor an expansion of its video news initiative. She’ll serve as the Sunnyvale, California-based company’s global anchor.
Katie Couric announced at the time she was leaving ABC News, which she joined in 2011.
Katie Couric has admitted a disproportionate reporting on HPV vaccine controversy during an episode of her show.
She said some of the criticism that the episode was too anti-vaccine and anti-science “was valid”.
“We simply spent too much time on the serious adverse events that have been reported in very rare cases following the vaccine,” Katie Couric wrote in a blog post published Huffington Post.
“More emphasis should have been given to the safety and efficacy of the HPV vaccines.”
The December 4 episode of Katie show had been criticized for promoting arguments from moms who said their daughters were harmed by the vaccines, including one whose child died. Katie Couric also interviewed HPV researcher Dr. Diane Harper, chair of family medicine at the University of Louisville. Harper had researched the vaccine and said its protection would wear off after five years.
Experts were quick to point out that scientific evidence didn’t jive with the opinions from Katie Couric’s guests.
Katie Couric has admitted a disproportionate reporting on HPV vaccine controversy
For the 57 million doses of the vaccine given out from June 2006 through March 2013, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) has received at least 22,000 reports of adverse events in girls and women. About 92 percent of which were classified as non-serious. The other almost 8% of serious side effects included headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, fainting and generalized weakness.
Katie Couric’s blog post devoted more space to the science. She highlighted the risk between HPV and cancer, citing estimates that each year about 26,000 Americans are diagnosed with a cancer caused by HPV.
She noted that while the vast majority of side effects to the HPV vaccine are not serious, she said she still felt the need to share the two patient stories on her show.
“As a journalist, I felt that we couldn’t simply ignore these reports. That’s why we had two mothers on the show who reported adverse reactions after their daughters had been vaccinated for HPV,” she wrote.
“One could hardly get out of bed for three years, and the other tragically died. There is no definitive proof that these two situations were related to the vaccine. Every life is important. However, the time spent telling these stories was disproportionate to the statistical risk attendant to the vaccines and greater perspective is needed.”
She added that as a cancer-prevention advocate, one of her goals was to affirm the importance of getting Pap tests and that people should not skip gynecological visits just because they got an HPV vaccine.
Katie Couric also expressed support for the vaccine, adding her own two daughters had been vaccinated.
Katie Couric is leaving ABC News and she is reportedly looking toward a new role with Yahoo.
“Katie is an incredible journalist and this was an opportunity that she couldn’t pass up,” said an ABC executive with knowledge of the situation.
“Thanks to the powerful association between ABC News and Yahoo we know that Katie will continue to work closely with us and welcome her on our air anytime.”
It has been widely speculated that Katie Couric might one day reunite with her former Today executive producer Jeff Zucker at CNN. Jeff Zucker took over leadership of CNN in January.
Katie Couric joined ABC News in June 2011 as part of a multi-year deal
Katie Couric joined ABC News in June 2011 as part of a multi-year deal that also included her hosting the talk show, which is now suffering in the ratings. Jeff Zucker initially executive produced the show, but left to head CNN.
The exit from ABC News will be the second time Katie Couric has parted ways with the network.
Katie Couric started her career there as a desk assistant in 1979.
As part of ABC News, Katie Couric anchored specials, conducted interviews, hosted on Good Morning America and took part in special events coverage.
Between her stints on Today and joining ABC News, she spent five years anchoring The CBS Evening News.
Katie Couric got engaged to her financier boyfriend of nearly two years, John Molner, on Labor Day weekend.
John Molner popped the question on a beach in East Hampton, New York, as the sun went down, with a “spectacular diamond ring”.
A widow since her husband, Jay Monahan died from colon cancer in 1998, mother-of-two Katie Couric, 56, has had several suitors over the years, but never seemed to find the right match.
Katie Couric told People magazine in 2011 that she always imagined herself as a “modern-day” version of the twice married TV character, Carol Brady.
Finally, though, she decided to stop worrying about finding a suitor.
“I used to worry a lot about the future. [But] who knows what it will bring?” Katie Couric said.
“Hopefully it will bring good things.”
Katie Couric has had several suitors over the years, but never seemed to find the right match
However, Katie Couric met 50-year-old John Molner, a partner at the investment firm Brown Brothers Harriman, in early 2012 and soon hit it off.
Katie Couric and John Molner first went public with their relationship in April 2012 and she said later that year: “He’s great. He’s from Chicago. I love Midwesterners!”
She also made it clear that she was looking to take things to the next level, telling Parade that she liked the “idea of having a life partner”.
Before John Molner, Katie Couric was dating entrepreneur, Brooks Perlin, who is 17 years her junior.
Katie Couric and Brooks Perlin met at a charity event held to raise money for cancer research in 2006 and remained together for five years.
There was speculation at the time that her new relationship with John Molner came too soon after the split.
However, mutual friends of the couple reportedly said that they had been trying to set them up for years.
John Molner is said to have been a fan of Katie Couric’s for some time.
Speaking to People magazine about dating, Katie Couric once said: “I thought, it’s important for me to go out. I’m always excited to meet new people and have a social life.
“I think dating is fun actually. I enjoy that part of my life.”
John Molner will become a step-father to Katie Couric’s two daughters with Jay Monahan, Ellie, 21, and Carrie, 17.
Making her engagement public today, Katie Couric tweeted: “Yes it’s true! So touched by all the kind Tweets & warm wishes-thank you! A great end to the summer & looking fwd to seeing you all Monday!!”
Her talk show, Katie returns for a second season on September 9.
Katie Couric has apologized for hurting Kim Kardashian’s feelings after questioning her family’s massive fame in a recent interview with In Touch magazine.
Katie Couric, 56, released a statement following Kim Kardashian’s furious Instagram post accusing the TV presenter of being a “fake media friend”.
“I’ve met Kim before and I think she’s a really sweet person,” Katie Couric told E! News.
“I was responding to a reporter’s question, and explaining how I’m intrigued by the public’s fascination with her family. I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine, and I’m happy for Kim and Kanye.”

Kim Kardashian, 32, had posted a picture of baby clothes and a note sent by Katie Couric and asked her not to “talk s**t” if she’s going to pretend to be nice.
The reality star also included the hashtags: “I Hate Fake Media Friends” and “May I Humbly Suggest You Not Send Gifts Then Talk Sh*t”.
The offending comments were made by the former Today Show anchor in anIn Touch article published Wednesday.
“I don’t understand – why are they so famous? I think it’s mostly teenage girls that are interested,” Katie Couric told the magazine.

Katie Couric has admitted to dating talk show legend Larry King during Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
Katie Couric and Larry King went for dinner at an Italian restaurant in Washington, D.C. about 25 years ago and afterwards King drove them back to his apartment where he tried to put the moves on her.
“So we sat there and what can I say, he lunged,” Katie Couric said, as Jimmy Kimmel cracked up and interjected: “Incredible.”
Katie Couric, now 56, said their one and only date took place when she was about 30-years-old and during a time when she decided to be more adventurous in her love life.
“I was going through this period of my life that I was going, <<I’m going to go out with anyone who asks me because you learn something every time>>.”
After Larry King, who has famously been married eight times, met her at a restaurant and later called her to ask her out.
“And I thought well that would be really interesting,” Katie Couric said of her reason for saying yes.
She said Larry King, now 79-years-old, came to her apartment to pick her up driving a Lincoln Town Car and then they went to dinner.
“They put us right next to each other like they do with all the men and their <<nieces>>.”
“He had ordered the veal poached in chicken stock because he had just had quadruple bypass, which was hot,” Katie Couric joked.
The rest of the meal went “nice enough” Katie Couric said, but she was soon thrown for a shock when she realized he wasn’t taking her back to her apartment.
“I go, <<Larry, where are we going>> and he goes, <<My place>>.
“I was like, <<Oh mother of god>>. I was like <<Dear, Cosmo what do i do?>> I was only 30, I could not figure out how to extricate myself from it.”
“So we go to his apartment in Roslyn [Virginia] and we walk in and its covered in proclamations for <<Larry King Day>> and keys to every city in the country. That was sexy!”
Katie Couric has admitted to dating talk show legend Larry King during Jimmy Kimmel Live
Soon after they got there, Larry King made his advance towards her, which she quickly rebuffed, she said.
“I started laughing a little because the whole situation was like out of a bad Lifetime movie.
“So I said <<Larry, you’re such an interesting, nice man but I would like to meet someone a little closer to my age>>.
“He said, <<That’s okay cause when I like, I really like>>.”
Larry King, who has been married to Shawn Southwick since 1997, has a totally different recollection of getting shot down.
“We went out to dinner, a nice Italian restaurant, we drove home, thought we were kind of romantic, we get to her door, in the apartment house and she said, <<Oh, I have a roommate>>,” he said in 2009.
“Then I kissed her goodnight and that was that. And we became friends ever since,” Larry King said.
Katie Couric also revealed last night how Michael Jackson once bizarrely asked her on a date after he rejected her request for an interview.
“Can you imagine going home to my daughters who were then about 8 and 4, saying, <<Honey, Girls. I’m going out on a date with Michael Jackson>>,” she said.
“I just thought it would be too weird. The tabloids would go crazy and I didn’t need that.”
Jennifer Lopez admits she is still struggling to deal with the collapse of her marriage to Marc Anthony after two years on Katie Couric show.
J-Lo opened up to Katie Couric on Friday, revealing she found it hard to get out of bed when her relationship broke down.
Despite having moved on since her split – Jennifer Lopez is dating her 25-year-old back up dancer Casper Smart – the 43-year-old said having her two twins, Max and Emme, ask questions about the divorce continues to make it difficult.
“I actually just wrote a song about it and just recorded it funnily enough, because I wanted to explain to them without out explaining it to them. It is a beautiful song.
“But there something inside of me that was struggling with that part of things.”
When asked what she says to her children, Jennifer Lopez said: “I feel like God gives me the words every time because every time they do it I get a rush of panic through my body and I’m like <<Oh my god, what do I say?>>
“Again it is learning process, like with Marc, and I said maybe we should do some things together.”
Jennifer Lopez admits she is still struggling to deal with the collapse of her marriage to Marc Anthony after two years on Katie Couric show
J-Lo was on the Katie Show to promote her new film Parker in which she plays a newly divorced woman. Filming as she went through her own divorce was cathartic, the singer said.
“It was kind of perfect to be honest, because I was very in touch with all the emotions,” Jennifer Lopez said.
“I play a character who is really literally at the worst point of her life. She’s divorced, she’s pushing forty and her work isn’t doing well and she is living with her mum.
“So she’s at the worst point of her life and at that moment when I was doing the movie, I felt the same way.
“It was the worst time of my life going through the divorce with the kids, so it was kind of a blessing – as these can be sometimes – to be able to use all those emotions and all those feelings and put them somewhere.
“As when you have kids and you have to get up every day – and it’s hard to get up when you feel that bad – and you have to hide it all day at work and hide in front of the kids, so to be able to use it in the scenes and really look how I felt was great.”
J-Lo, who was joined by her co-star Jason Statham, also revealed that she was terrified to do a scene where she had to strip down in front of Jason’s character Parker.
“It’s nerve racking you know it’s coming, it’s nerve racking and you just have to suck it up,” Jennifer Lopez said.
In order to look her best, J-Lo starved herself for “a few days” before the scene but had a bag of McDonald’s waiting for her.
“I saw you running down the stairs with a bag and I was like <<What’s in the bag?>> and you’re like <<Go away, go away>>,” Jason Statham said, realizing what his co-star was up to.
Despite talking about how hard she has found it since getting divorced, J-Lo did reveal that her boyfriend Casper Smart and her have taken the next step in their relationship – buying a dog together.
After repeatedly clashing with co-anchors and overseeing plummeting ratings, the Today show’s Matt Lauer is reportedly being given the boot.
Matt Lauer, a long-time host, who earns a staggering $21.5 million a year, is being blamed for the NBC morning show’s dismal performance over the past three months and sources claim ratings will only improve if he is replaced.
According to The National Enquirer, weatherman Al Roker is plotting to push the 54-year-old TV veteran out of his anchor chair and is lobbying a newly appointed Today producer for help.
ABC rival Good Morning America leap-frogged the Today show after Ann Curry was controversially dumped as co-host in the summer and replaced with Savannah Guthrie.
“It’s just desserts. Matt is finally getting what he deserves!” a Studio 1-A set insider told The Enquirer.
“His years-long feuds with former co-hosts Katie Couric, Meredith Vieira and Ann Curry have taken their toll. Everyone has turned against him, and Matt is going to be ousted because he’s being blamed for the show’s collapse.”
A high profile former NBC News executive recently said the show needed a new frontman to turn its ratings around.
“This problem is not going to go away until Matt Lauer does,” the source said.
“He’s great, but fairly or unfairly, his brand is damaged.”
After repeatedly clashing with co-anchors and overseeing plummeting ratings, the Today show’s Matt Lauer is reportedly being given the boot
Al Roker, a loyal friend of Ann Curry, has been secretly working towards Matt Lauer’s demise for sometime, according to The Enquirer.
“Matt and Al used to be good buddies – until Al found out Matt had been instrumental in Ann’s ouster,” a Today source told the paper.
“They come across as friends on the air, but that’s all an act.”
The weatherman is reportedly campaigning for Today‘s 9 a.m. house co-host Willie Geist, 37, to take Matt Lauer’s sought-after seat.
“Adding a fresh new guy like Willie to the mix is just what Al feels <<Today>> needs to help pull the show out of the ratings doldrums and compete with <<GMA>>,” the source said.
RadarOnline.com recently reported that Alexandra Wallace was set to replace Jim Bell as the executive overseeing the NBC morning show and an insider told the website that she wasn’t afraid to ruffle “Lauer’s feathers”, to boost ratings.
Jessica Simpson showed off little Maxwell’s first swimsuit yesterday as she shared a photo of the adorable four-month-old on Katie Couric’s new chatshow.
Jessica Simpson herself kept her clothes firmly on as she made her much-hyped appearance as the very first guest on Katie.
The 32-year-old singer wore a slimming black peplum Roland Mouret dress as she revealed she had lost 40 lbs since Maxwell’s birth on May 1.
Talking to Katie Couric in her first big TV interview since becoming a mother, Jessica Simpson admitted she didn’t realize how hard it would be to lose her baby weight.
“During pregnancy, I didn’t really think about it,” she said about her weight gain.
“I thought my doctors were telling me that it was just a lot of water and whenever my water broke my whole entire stomach would go down but that did not happen.
“All the weight did not come out with the baby.”
Jessica Simpson showed off little Maxwell's first swimsuit yesterday as she shared a photo of the adorable four-month-old on Katie Couric's new chatshow
Now Jessica Simpson says she is 10 lbs away from her goal weight, and she’s using her daughter to get there.
“I basically take her with me, whether it’s strapping her on me or strolling around the neighborhood,” she said.
“My new goal is 14,000 steps a day.”
Jessica Simpson is breast feeding Maxwell, and said that sugar cravings had been an obstacle in her weight loss.
“I feel like what made me eat more is my hormones and breastfeeding,” she confided in Katie Couric.
“I’ve never wanted chocolate more in my life. I’ve had to really stay focused and focus on my diet and concentrate on what I’m putting in my body.”
Jessica Simpson says she is 10 lbs away from her goal weight
But unlike most new mothers Jessica Simpson is been paid a heady amount to shed her weight.
Jessica Simpson, who tipped the scales at more than 170 lbs during her pregnancy, is following Weight Watchers after signing a deal rumored to be worth $4 million.
She said the programme was working for her.
“You have to track every bit, and you can’t get away with the bites because they add up,” she said.
“You have to be completely honest with yourself, and I think just creating that relationship of honesty with yourself is so good.”
And she said appearing on the show had been driving her weight loss.
“I’ve just had a lot of pressure on me and today was actually one of my goals,” she said.
“Getting here in a comfortable and beautiful dress.”
With the eyes of the world on her, Jessica Simpson also said her weight loss had been somewhat stressful.
“I’ve been pregnant for three years,” she joked.
“I definitely don’t Google my name.
“I try to avoid it completely. But I still subconsciously know that the talk is going on so I think that every day that is a struggle for me.”
“I understand that it sells magazines and stuff. But I wish I could get a cut,” she said.
And she added: “There is a lot of pressure to lose weight. But I want to be healthy for my daughter.”
Talking about her fiancé, Eric Johnson, Jessica Simpson admitted that the couple had yet to set a date to walk down the aisle.
But she said of the American football player: “He’s the best dad. Even my dad says that. He changes every diaper.”
Both Eric and Maxwell Johnson accompanied her to New York from their LA home for the interview.
“She had her first flight yesterday,” Jessica Simpson said of Maxwell.
“She did not sleep. She slept the last hour but she didn’t cry.”
Jessica Simpson said that having her daughter had transformed her life.
“Motherhood is a dream it really is absolutely amazing,” she said.
“My life is very different now.”
Despite her weight loss, Jessica Simpson admitted she was worried about her appearance.
“I almost peed my pants, I’m very nervous,” she told Katie Couric.
She wasn’t the only one.
Katie Couric herself told her audience: “I feel like it’s the first day of school. It’s so nice to be here. I am so thrilled today to finally be here.”
She had plenty of support – her daughters, aged 16 and 21, were in the audience.
Jessica Simpson is being paid a reported $4 million to act as the new face of Weight Watchers.
And now Jessica Simpson has starred in her first advert for the diet programme, filmed back in July as she got stuck into her weight loss regime.
Yet the footage has failed to capture her full figure, presumably the one thing that viewers want to see so that they can make a comparison between her before and after figure.
“I’m Jessica Simpson and yes I’m doing Weight Watchers,” she tells the camera, smiling.
“There is a lot of pressure to lose weight but I’m not a supermodel. I’m just Jessica trying to eat real food in the real world and I really just wanna be healthy for my daughter.
“So I knew Weight Watchers was the only way to go. It’s working.
‘I’m on my way and it feels amazing. Really I just wanna be a better version of myself.”

The advert focuses on Jessica Simpson’s upper body, with close-ups of her face.
Talking on Katie Couric’s new chat show yesterday, the singer and actress admitted that at the time she wasn’t comfortable revealing her whole frame.
Since the clip was filmed Jessica Simpson, 32, has continued on her healthy eating plan – taking her total weight loss to an impressive 40 lbs.
But she still isn’t at her goal, after her weight hit more than 170 lbs while she was pregnant.
Talking on the debut episode of Katie Couric yesterday Jessica Simpson explained why the Weight Watchers programme is working for her.
“You have to track every bit, and you can’t get away with the bites because they add up,” she said.
“You have to be completely honest with yourself, and I think just creating that relationship of honesty with yourself is so good.”
Along with tracking her food Jessica Simpson is also working out.
And now she is 10 lbs away from her goal weight, she’s using her daughter to get there.
“I basically take her with me, whether it’s strapping her on me or strolling around the neighborhood,” she said.
Heidi Klum has spoken publicly for the first time during an interview for the new Katie Couric TV show to deny she had an affair with her bodyguard while married to Seal claiming she never looked at another man when they were together.
Heidi Klum, 39, broke her silence to tell Katie Couric that she had been completely faithful to Seal during their seven-year marriage and has been left devastated by claims she cheated on him.
Seal had suggested his estranged wife was sleeping with bodyguard Martin Kristen after they were photographed together in Italy.
He said: “I would have preferred Heidi to have shown a little bit more class and at least waited until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help.”
Heidi Klum broke her silence to tell Katie Couric that she had been completely faithful to Seal during their seven-year marriage
A spokesman for Heidi Klum denied the claim, and Seal later retracted his statement and said he had not meant to suggest she had cheated on him during their marriage.
In her sit-down interview with Katie Couric, Heidi Klum insisted she had been faithful.
According to the New York Post, the German born model said of Seal’s comments: “It was a unique choice of words. I’m used to it. Other people aren’t. When we were together, I never looked at a another man.”
The full interview will be shown on Wednesday, two days after Katie Couric’s chat show makes its anticipated debut.
The revelation came a day after Heidi Klum was pictured looking relaxed in Los Angeles after returning from New York Fashion Week.
The supermodel landed back in California after strutting down the catwalk at New York Fashion Week last night, modelling an incredible and revealing gown at the Project Runway 2013 Spring Collection.
Following the success of last night’s shenanigans, Heidi Klum tweeted: “We shot the @ProjectRunway Season 10 finale today! Was a great show…but, you have to wait till Oct 18th to see it!”
