David Bowie has announced his new album, Blackstar, will be released on his 69th birthday on January 8, 2016.
David Bowie made the announcement on his official website and Facebook page, adding that Blackstar will also be the title of his forthcoming single.
The singer said the single, released on November 20, will not be part of his theatre piece Lazarus.
Blackstar will follow-up 2013’s The Next Day.

The Next Day was David Bowie’s first album release for a decade, and was announced on the singer’s 66th birthday.
David Bowie is yet to release details regarding the sound and content of the album, stating on Facebook that there had been inaccurate reporting on the subjects.
The singer has co-written Lazarus with Irish playwright Enda Walsh, the award-winning writer of the musical Once.
Lazarus is based on the 1976 sci-fi film starring David Bowie – The Man Who Fell to Earth – and is set to premiere at the New York Theatre Workshop in December.
David Bowie has confirmed he will not be appearing on stage in the play.
Steve Jobs biopic has failed to impress at the North American box office, taking just $7.3 million in its first general week of release.
Danny Boyle’s movie, for which Michael Fassbender has been tipped for a best actor Oscar, entered the chart at number seven.
Ridley Scott’s The Martian reclaimed the top spot taking $15.9 million.
Elsewhere, Jem and the Holograms made one of the worst debuts of all time for a major studio release opening in over 2,000 locations with $1.3 million.
The adaptation of the 1980s cartoon about the quest of a group of aspiring musicians to become global superstars, entered the chart in 15th place.
The Steve Jobs biopic cost around $30 million to make and has taken $9.98 million to date, after two limited release weeks and one week on full release.
Co-starring Kate Winslet and Seth Rogen, the movie is the most high-profile of half-a-dozen documentaries and films about the Apple founder since his death in 2011 and has generally received strong reviews.
Vin Diesel’s The Last Witch Hunter also failed to meet expectations, earning $10.8 million, while Bill Murray’s Rock the Kasbah pulled in just $1.5 million.
Rock the Kasbah, which features Bill Murray as a rock promoter in Afghanistan, cost $15 million to make.
Goosebumps, based on the popular children’s book series and starring Jack Black, fell a place to number two on the chart, earning $15.5 million.
Toyota has overtaken VW in global vehicle sales after releasing figures for the first nine months of 2015.
The Japanese automaker sold 7.5 million in the first three quarters of 2015, beating VW’s 7.43 million and General Motors’ 7.2 million.
After six months of 2015, VW was ahead of Toyota, in pole position for the first time.
VW’s emissions scandal emerged towards the end of September.
The discovery of software that was able to mislead emissions tests on diesel cars may have more effect on VW’s sales in the remainder of the year.
Toyota’s sales for the first nine months were 1.5% below the level at the same stage last year.
Toyota first overtook GM to take the top slot in 2008 and has kept it every year since, except 2011 when GM was the top seller after a tsunami in north-eastern Japan disrupted Toyota’s production.
Separately, there was relief for General Motors on October 25 when it reached an agreement with the United Auto Workers union, averting a threatened strike.
Details of the four-year labor deal were not released. It will now go to a vote of UAW leaders and then the union’s 52,700 workers at GM.
“We believe that this agreement will present stable long-term significant wage gains and job security commitments to UAW members now and in the future,” said UAW president Dennis Williams.
The union had threatened that it would terminate its existing contract at midnight Eastern time on October 25, meaning there could have been a strike.
The World Health Organization (WHO) is to reveal whether some meats should be classed as carcinogens.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer, which is part of the WHO, has been reviewing evidence on whether red and processed meats increase the risk of bowel and other cancers.
According to experts, eating a lot of red and processed meat probably increases the risk of bowel cancer.
However, red meat can be part of a healthy diet.
Red meat includes beef, lamb, and pork. It looks darker in color than white meat, like poultry, because of higher levels of hemoglobin and myoglobin, the iron and oxygen-binding proteins you find in blood and muscle.
Processed meat is not fresh meat, in other words something has been done to it to extend its shelf life or change its taste such as smoking, curing or adding salt or preservatives.
Processed meat includes bacon, sausages, salami and ham. Simply putting fresh meat through a mincer does not make it processed
Meat is a good source of protein, B vitamins and minerals such as iron and zinc.
Expert scientists’ advice is to consume healthier meat or meat products, such as lean cuts and lean mince, and cut down on processed meat.
Since 1971, more than 900 agents, including lifestyle factors and chemicals, have been evaluated by expert scientists for the International Agency for Research on Cancer.
More than 400 have been identified as carcinogenic, probably carcinogenic, or possibly carcinogenic to humans.
Bacon, ham and sausages are set to be classed alongside cigarettes, arsenic and asbestos as cancer-causing by global health experts.
Adacia Chambers, who drove into a crowd of spectators at the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade, killing four people, has been charged with second-degree murder.
However, the woman’s lawyer said the 25-year-old was not drunk at the wheel of her car, as police suspected, when she hit the people in Stillwater.
“I absolutely can rule out alcohol,” said attorney Tony Coleman, adding his client might have mental problems.
Adacia Chambers is due in court on October 26.
Witnesses described dozens of bodies being flung into the air, after Adacia Chambers’ car hit a parked police motorbike before plunging into spectators at the OSU homecoming parade.
Three adults and a two-year-old boy died, with nine children among about 50 people injured. Five people remain in critical condition.
Adacia Chambers was detained on suspicion of DUI. Police are still awaiting the results of blood tests.
Tony Coleman said she was not intoxicated but added: “I have deep concerns about her competency at this point. I’m not a psychologist or psychiatrist, but I can tell you she’s suffering from mental illness.
“She doesn’t remember a whole lot about what happened. There was a period where I think… she could have even blacked out,” the attorney said.
The four counts of second-degree murder each carry a possible penalty of 10 years to life imprisonment.
Adacia Chambers lives in Stillwater, a town 65 miles north-east of Oklahoma City, but is not believed to be an OSU student.
Her father, Floyds Chambers, told The Oklahoman newspaper his daughter was timid and not an alcoholic.
A vigil to remember the victims was held at the OSU campus on October 25.
North Korea has returned the remains of an American soldier missing since the Korean War to his family in California.
Army Cpl. Robert V. Witt of Bellflower was believed captured when his unit was attacked by Chinese forces in late November 1950, the Long Beach Press-Telegram reports.
Fellow troops later repatriated to the US said Robert Witt died from malnutrition in January 1951.
The US lists more than 8,000 soldiers as missing in the Korean War.
Robert Witt’s remains were found, along with those of other soldiers, in a joint US-North Korea excavation in North Korea in 2000.
Photo Tumblr
However, it took many years since for them to be conclusively identified.
They have now been returned to his sister, 82-year-old Laverne Minnick.
Laverne Minnick told the local newspaper: “I am so happy. He’s going to be home, where he belongs, with his family.”
Robert Witt, 20-years-old when he went missing, will be buried with full military honors in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Los Angeles on October 30.
The Battle of Chosin Reservoir, during which he went missing, was part of a Chinese offensive early in the Korean War that succeeded in driving US and other UN forces out of north eastern Korea.
The Korean War lasted from June 1950 until July 1953 and pitted the US and its allies against the USSR, North Korea and communist China.
At least two million Korean civilians, up to 1.5 million communist forces, and around 30,000 American, 400,000 South Korean and 1,000 UK troops are believed to have died.
A peace treaty has never been signed and the two Koreas would remain technically at war.
Jimmy Morales has been elected as Guatemala’s president after winning the runoff vote in the country’s presidential election.
The former comedian has no experience in government.
Jimmy Morales polled 72% against former Guatemala first lady Sandra Torres, who is seen by many as part of the country’s unpopular political elite.
Sandra Torres admitted defeat before all the votes were counted, as the margin of Jimmy Morales’ lead became clear.
The vote took place a month after the resignation and arrest of President Otto Perez Molina.
Otto Perez Molina is accused of leading a corrupt network of politicians and customs officials.
Photo TeleSUR
The former president denies involvement in a scheme which saw businessmen pay bribes to evade customs charges.
Many voters see Jimmy Morales as a fresh start following nationwide protests that ousted Otto Perez Molina.
“As president I received a mandate, and the mandate of the people of Guatemala is to fight against the corruption that is consuming us. God bless and thank you,” said Jimmy Morales after the count.
However, turnout was low, despite calls for voters to help Guatemala overcome a serious political crisis.
Sandra Torres ran government social programs when her ex-husband Alvaro Colom was president between 2008 and 2012.
Jimmy Morales has regaled voters with stories about his humble origins and jokes from a 14-year period on a TV comedy show.
He has been criticized for some of his more far-fetched policies which include the tagging of teachers with a GPS device to ensure they attend classes and giving each Guatemalan child an iPhone.
Jimmy Morales’ manifesto is only six pages – giving few indications as to how he might run the country – but he is known to favor low taxes and limited government.
One of his most famous comedy roles was that of a useless cowboy who becomes president by accident.
Jimmy Morales faces a difficult task as his National Convergence Front (FCN) will have just 11 out of 158 seats in the next Congress.
Critics accuse Jimmy Morales of having no program and no team, just the ability to exploit voter grievances.
His rise in the polls has been attributed to his targeting of public sector corruption which has engulfed the government.
One investigation found that former President Otto Perez Molina and his vice president were at the center of the customs scam. Both deny any involvement.
Otto Perez Molina was impeached, deprived of his presidential immunity and arrested in September. He is now in jail awaiting trial.
Pop star Justin Bieber was the big winner at MTV’s European Music Awards (EMAs) scooping five awards.
Justin Bieber won best male, best North American act, best collaboration for Where Are You Now?, with Skrillex and Diplo, biggest fans and best look.
Accepting his best male award, Justin Bieber said: “It’s been a long couple of years, um, I just feel like this is pretty awesome to be recognized for my music.”
He has had a number of legal run-ins, including being arrested last year on suspicion of driving under the influence.
One Direction won the prize for best pop, Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood won best song and Rihanna was named best female.
Ed Sheeran hosted the ceremony at Mediolanum Forum in Milan on October 25 – and took home the prize for best live act.
He also won the best world stage award for his performance at last year’s V Festival.
Duran Duran members were honored with the inaugural MTV Video Visionary Award.
“When we started there was us and MTV and we blazed a trail and we were there for each other,” said Simon Le Bon as he collected the award.
A surprise winner in the best video category was hip-hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
“I had no idea we were going to win an award,” said Macklemore.
“We’re not on a major label; we don’t have a big budget. What you guys give to us, we give back to you in the art we make.”
Poland’s Law and Justice party has secured a decisive win in the country’s parliamentary elections.
According to exit polls, the conservative opposition party has enough seats to govern alone, with an anticipated 39% of the vote.
Law and Justice’s eurosceptic leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski has claimed victory, and the outgoing PM Ewa Kopacz of the centrist Civic Platform party, has admitted defeat.
Law and Justice party has strong support in Poland’s rural areas.
If the numbers suggested by the exit poll are confirmed, it will be the first time since democracy was restored in Poland in 1989 that a single party has won enough seats to govern alone.

“We will exert law but there will be no taking of revenge. There will be no squaring of personal accounts,” said Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
“There will be no kicking of those who have fallen through their own fault and very rightly so.”
Europe’s refugee crisis also proved to be a key topic of debate before the election. While the government has agreed to take in 7,000 refugees, opposition parties have spoken out against the move.
Last week, Jaroslaw Kaczynski was criticized for suggesting refugees could bring diseases and parasites to Poland.
The 66-year-old is not running as prime minister and has instead nominated Beata Szydlo, a relative unknown, as the party’s choice for the post.
However, some observers said Jaroslaw Kaczynski could take on the top job himself in the months to come.
The Law and Justice party is close to Poland’s powerful Roman Catholic Church and has promised increased benefits and tax breaks.
Civic Platform for its part sought closer ties with the EU.
Despite overseeing eight years of impressive economic growth it was beaten into second place and will become the main opposition party.
Only three other parties are projected to win enough votes to get seats in parliament: the Polish Peasants’ Party, and two new groups, a right-wing party led by rock star Pawel Kukiz and Modern Poland, a pro-business party.
Daniel Scioli is leading exit polls in Argentina’s election, but it is not clear if the vote will go into a runoff.
The center-left candidate was handpicked by two-term President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, who is constitutionally barred from seeking a third term.
The head of the campaign led by Daniel Scioli’s main challenger, center-right Buenos Aires Mayor Mauricio Macri, says the election is heading for a second round.
A run-off would be held on November 22.
Argentina’s C5N television network said Daniel Scioli had won by “a large margin”.
To win outright, a candidate needs 45% of the vote or a minimum of 40% as well as a 10-point lead over the nearest rival.
Daniel Scioli, the governor of Buenos Aires province, is a former world power boating champion who lost his right arm in a race in 1989.

Last week, he pledged tax cuts for workers earning under a certain income, a move expected to affect half a million people.
Daniel Scioli has also vowed to bring down Argentina’s inflation to single digits in less than four years and promises to introduce policy changes to invigorate the economy.
Another candidate, Sergio Massa, a former ally of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, is polling behind Mauricio Macri. There are three other names on the ballot paper, with 32 million people eligible to vote.
Long queues formed outside polling stations from the early hours on October 25.
Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, who stands down after eight years in power, says she leaves Argentines a better country.
“We are voting today in a completely normal country,” she said after casting her vote in the Patagonian town of Rio Gallegos.
In previous decades, Argentines always went to the polls “in the middle of a serious crisis,” Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner added.
She said achieving stability and leaving Argentines “a normal country” was the promise made by her late husband, Neston Kirchner, when he took office in 2003.
Nestor Kirchner died in 2010, three years after handing over the presidency to his wife.
While Argentina gained strength after a financial crisis in 2002, its economy, the third-largest in Latin America, has slowed in recent years, with GDP growing by only 0.5% in 2014.
Tanzanians are expected to polls in the country’s most tightly contested general elections, as a new opposition coalition tries to end the governing party’s 54-year grip on power.
There has been a high turnout at voting stations, reports say.
Opinion polls have put the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party ahead, but the result is expected to be close.
Four opposition groups are backing one candidate, a former prime minister, in the presidential race.
Some of the major issues for the almost 23 million registered voters include access to clean water, improved health care and better education.
President Jakaya Kikwete, who is standing down after two terms, has called for peace ahead of the election, adding that “anyone who tries to cause trouble will be dealt with”.
The CCM was formed in 1977 from a merger of two post-colonial parties and has effectively been in power since independence in 1961.
Tanzania’s works minister, John Magufuli, 55, has promised change and to improve on the pace of progress laid down by the previous CCM government.
John Magufuli has promised to end the country’s power shortages and exploit Tanzania’s natural gas discoveries.
“My government will put emphasis on fighting corruption, job creation and industrialization,” he said on October 24.
John Magufuli is nicknamed The Bulldozer for driving a program to build roads across Tanzania.
Ukawa coalition’s candidate Edward Lowassa, 62, decided to leave the CCM when it did not pick him as its presidential candidate earlier this year. Four opposition parties rallied behind Edward Lowassa as a coalition candidate.
“We must stop being a nation of beggars,” he told a rally on October 24.
“It is a shame for Tanzania to still be poor after 54 years of independence.”
Edward Lowassa has already served as prime minister, but had to resign over a corruption scandal in the energy sector. He continues to deny involvement in the scandal.
Voters in Congo-Brazzaville are expected to polls in a referendum on constitutional changes that would allow President Denis Sassou Nguesso to stand for a third term.
Opposition leaders have called for a boycott after a number of protesters died in clashes with security forces.
Under the country’s current constitution, Denis Sassou Nguesso cannot seek re-election because he is over the age of 70 and has already served two terms.
Denis Sassou Nguesso first came to power in 1979.
He is now coming to the end of his second seven-year term.
Denis Sassou Nguesso won the last election 2009 with nearly 79% of the vote in a poll boycotted by half the opposition candidates.

Tens of thousands of people took part in a peaceful demonstration against the referendum in September.
Four people died on October 20, when security forces dispersed further protests in the capital Brazzaville and the economic capital Pointe-Noire.
Several activists and opposition leaders reported arrests and intimidation.
The outcome of today’s vote and the Congolese people’s response to it will be watched closely in the region, as presidents in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda are also expected to try to run for third terms in forthcoming elections.
There have been months of unrest in Burundi, where President Pierre Nkurunziza was re-elected for a controversial third term in July.
Among the changes being voted on are scrapping the presidential age and two-term limits.
Texting and internet services were cut and public meetings banned ahead of the referendum, residents said.
Congo-Brazzaville opposition has been campaigning under the slogan “Sassoufit”, a pun on the French expression for “that’s enough” (Ca suffit).
Poles are voting in the country’s parliamentary elections, with the conservatives hoping to return to power after eight years in opposition.
Opinion polls in run-up to the election put the Law and Justice party, led by Jaroslaw Kaczynski well ahead of Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz’s Civic Platform party.
Law and Justice party regained the presidency in May when Andrzej Duda won the poll.
The party is most strongly supported in rural areas and by those who close to Poland’s powerful Roman Catholic Church.
Civic Platform has been hit by disrepute, with a number of ministers caught up in an eavesdropping scandal last year.
On October 23, Deputy Justice Minister Monika Zbrojewska was fired after being charged with DUI.
Europe’s refugee crisis also proved to be a key topic of debate before the election. While the government has agreed to take in 7,000 refugees, opposition parties have spoken out against the move.
Last week, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, 66, was criticized for suggesting refugees could bring diseases and parasites to Poland.
He is not running as prime minister, and has instead nominated Beata Szydlo, a relative unknown, as the party’s choice for the post.
However, some observers think Jaroslaw Kaczynski will take on the top job himself, if Law and Justice scores a convincing victory.
The result of the election is likely to be closely followed among Eurosceptic nations.
While Civic Platform sought close ties with the EU, one Law and Justice party member told Reuters they were keen for “a less bureaucratic, more cost-effective EU that does not seek deeper political integration”.
Argentina is voting to choose the country’s next president in a general election that ends 12 years of rule under the Kirchners.
President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has served two consecutive terms and, under Argentina’s constitution, cannot run again.
Cristina Fernandez’s hand-picked successor, left-winger Daniel Scioli, is leading polls.
However, Daniel Scioli he is expected to face stiff competition from Mauricio Macri, the centre-right mayor of Buenos Aires.
Another candidate, Sergio Massa, a former Kirchner ally, is polling behind Mauricio Macri, while there are three other names on the ballot paper.
Today is the first round of voting – if no candidate gets more than 45% of the vote, or gets a minimum of 40% as well as a 10-point lead, there will be a run-off on November 22.
Whoever wins the presidency faces significant economic challenges.

While Argentina gained strength after a financial crisis in 2002, its economy, the third largest in Latin America, has slowed down in recent years, with GDP growing by only 0.5% in 2014.
The government is also locked in a battle against American hedge funds who disagree with how is wants to restructure $100 billion of debt on which it defaulted in 2001.
While the companies successfully sued Argentina for repayment, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner refused to pay.
She succeeded her husband Nestor Kirchner as president. He died in 2010, three years after handing over the presidency to his wife.
Daniel Scioli, the governor of Buenos Aires province, is a former world powerboating champion who lost his right arm in a boat race in 1989.
Last week, he pledged tax cuts for middle-class workers earning under a certain income, a move expected to affect half a million people.
Daniel Scioli has also vowed to bring down Argentina’s inflation to single digits in less than four years and promises to introduce policy changes to invigorate the economy.
Like Daniel Scioli, Mauricio Macri is married to a former model. He is a former president of Boca Juniors, Argentina’s most successful soccer club.
While Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has sought to press Argentina’s claims for the disputed UK territory of the Falkland Islands, Daniel Scioli says he would not appoint a Falklands minister, and would seek closer ties with London.
Montenegro police fired tear gas to disperse thousands of protesters demanding the resignation of PM Milo Djukanovic.
Demonstrators in the country’s capital, Podgorica, chanted “Milo, thief!” and demanded fair elections organized by a transitional government.
Some threw flares and fireworks at police guarding parliament.
Fifteen policemen were injured and 24 protesters sought treatment after being tear gassed, the interior minister said.

A leader of the Democratic Front opposition group, Andrija Mandic, was been questioned by police after the rally, along with another protest leader, Slaven Radunovic.
Milo Djukanovic has been in power for much of the past two decades, after holding prominent positions in the republic from the early 1990s when it was part of the former Yugoslavia.
In 2012, he won elections and became prime minister for the third time since Montenegro became independent after splitting from neighboring Serbia in 2006.
Montenegro’s government hopes to be invited to join the NATO in December, but many Montenegrins with historic ties to Russia are opposed to this.
The country’s general elections are scheduled for early 2016.
Four people have been killed and other 44 injured after a car crashed into a crowd of spectators during a university parade in Oklahoma, police say.
A local woman, 25, has been arrested on suspicion of DUI after her car hit the crowd in Stillwater.
Witnesses described dozens of bodies being flung into the air.
Police said it was one of the worst accidents they had seen in 30 years.
The initial death toll was three, but a two-year-old boy died later from his injuries.

Five children and three adults remain in hospital, some in critical condition, officials say.
The car crash happened as the crowds were watching a homecoming parade – a traditional event welcoming back Oklahoma State University (OSU) alumni.
The vehicle is reported to have hit a stationary police motorbike – which had no rider at the time – before plunging into spectators at the homecoming parade.
Stillwater Mayor Gina Noble said that the incident had left people in the town heartbroken, while OSU President Burns Hargis said that what was supposed to be “a wholesome, happy event” had been besmirched by “a terrible tragedy”.
Secretary of State John Kerry has announced that Israel and Jordan have agreed on moves aimed at reducing tensions surrounding Jerusalem Jerusalem’s Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif holy site.
Issues relating to the complex have been at the center of violence between Israelis and Palestinians in recent weeks.
John Kerry was speaking after talks in Jordan, the formal custodian of what is known to Jews as the Temple Mount and as Haram al-Sharif to Muslims.
He said Israel had renewed a pledge to maintain existing rules there.
In the latest upsurge of violence, at least 8 Israelis have been killed and dozens wounded in knife or gun attacks by Palestinians, following rumors that Israel was planning to change the rules.
About 50 Palestinians, including several of the attackers, have been killed in recent weeks.
John Kerry, who is on a tour of the region, met Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and King Abdullah of Jordan in Amman on October 24.
“All the violence and the incitement to violence must stop. Leaders must lead,” John Kerry told reporters.
The steps he announced include round-the-clock video monitoring and Israel’s agreement to reaffirm Jordan’s historic role as custodian of the religious complex.
Israel says it has not challenged the status quo on the Temple Mount and has no intention of doing so.
John Kerry met Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu on October 22, and said the talks had raised ideas that were worth exploring.
On October 24, John Kerry will travel to Saudi Arabia for talks with regional leaders.
In the latest violence, Israeli police said they shot dead a Palestinian attacker in the northern West Bank on Saturday, October 24.
Hollywood icon Maureen O’Hara has died aged 95, her manager announced.
The Irish-American actress, one of the last living stars from the golden age of Hollywood, died in her sleep at her home in Boise, Idaho, Johnny Nicoletti said.
Maureen O’Hara starred in the 1941 multi-Oscar winning drama, How Green Was My Valley, set in a Welsh mining village.

The actress also regularly featured alongside John Wayne, in movies such as TheQuiet Man.
Born in Dublin, Maureen O’Hara moved to Hollywood in 1939 and later became a US citizen.
“Her characters were feisty and fearless, just as she was in real life,” her family said in a statement.
“She was also proudly Irish and spent her entire lifetime sharing her heritage and the wonderful culture of the Emerald Isle with the world.”
The artwork for the upcoming play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been released.
Published on J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter website Pottermore, the images show a young boy in a nest with wings.
The play, split over two parts, is designed to be seen either on the same night, or over consecutive evenings.
Producers have also announced it is going to be a sequel to J.K. Rowling’s books, focusing on Harry Potter’s son, Albus Severus.
“While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted,” a synopsis reads.
“As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”
Previews will start in June 2016, at the Palace Theatre in London.
Early performances will have some cheap tickets on sale for just £10 per part, rising to £15 for the official run.
Harry Potter fans have suggested the nest and wings in the picture are reminiscent of a Golden Snitch, the smallest ball used in a game of Quidditch.
The final Harry Potter book ends with an epilogue – set 19 years after the main plot concludes – featuring Harry and his now-wife Ginny seeing their son off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Previously J.K. Rowling has refused to give away many details about the plot of the play, saying she did not “want to say too much more, because I don’t want to spoil what I know will be a real treat for fans”.
A new Harry Potter movie starring Eddie Redmayne – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – based on a screenplay written by J.K. Rowling, is expected in 2016.
The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, that inspired Stephen King to write his novel The Shining, has announced plans to build a horror museum and movie center.
Last week, the landmark hotel near the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park released plans to create a building that would house a horror-themed museum, film production studio and film archive.
Simon Pegg and Elijah Wood are among those backing the project, which is seeking $11.5 million in state funds for a “year-round horror destination”.
Elijah Wood said there was “no better place for… a permanent home for the celebration of horror”.
Photo Wikipedia
The Stanley was the inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King’s 1977 novel.
When Stanley Kubrick filmed the book in 1980, though, the ghost-ridden hotel was “played” by Timberline Lodge in Oregon.
If built, the $24 million facility will include a 500-seat auditorium, a museum and a 3,000 square foot soundstage.
Hotel owner John Cullen said the centre was “my chance to give back to the millions of horror fans around the world who have supported… the hotel for so many years.”
Other names on the center’s founding board include director George A. Romero, famed for Night of the Living Dead and other classic zombie movies.
Stephen King, now 68, wrote a sequel to The Shining, called Doctor Sleep, in 2013.
President Barack Obama has hit out at his Republican rivals likening them to “Grumpy Cat”, the notoriously unhappy feline.
As he addressed the DNC Women’s Leadership Forum on October 23, Barack Obama accused the Republicans of being “so down on America” and always suggesting that “everything is terrible”.
Photo ABC News
“I mean, they are…They are gloomy. They are like Grumpy Cat,” Barack Obama added, referencing the feline internet sensation.
The comparison was accompanied by an imitation of the Grumpy Cat frown – an image familiar to fans of the Internet meme that ultimately spawned a product line and a Christmas movie.
“I mean, I know it’s political season, but you listen to [the Republicans] and they’ve constructed this entire separate reality. It’s like the Twilight Zone,” Barack Obama continued.
Several times during his 23-minute speech, Barack Obama referred to Republicans’ statements as “crazy”.
