According to the family’s statement, Leonard Cohen died on November 7- three days before an announcement was made to the public.
The Canadian-born singer and songwriter was buried in Montreal on November 10.
Leonard Cohen’s son, Adam, wrote last week: “With only immediate family and a few lifelong friends present, he was lowered into the ground in an unadorned pine box, next to his mother and father.”
The singer’ representatives say a memorial in Los Angeles is being planned.
