The python died on April 10 after laying eggs.
According to Guinness World Record, the current record for longest snake ever caught is 7.67m.

The Malaysian snake, also thought to be a reticulated python, has not been officially measured by record keepers.
It weighed 551lbs and took 30 minutes to rescue.
