David Letterman Hosts Final Late Show

David Letterman’s late night comedy career comes to an end after more than 30 years and 6,000 shows as he leaves CBS’s Late Show.

Goofy and bespectacled, David Letterman could hardly be described as telegenic, but he’s become one of America’s most dominant ever TV personalities.

David Letterman first made his mark on NBC’s Late Show, airing after Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show.

The Late Show with David Letterman, which has aired on the CBS network since 1993, will broadcast its final show on May 20.

Later in the year, comedian Stephen Colbert will take over behind the hosting desk.
