Sochi Winter Games 2014: More than 80% of Olympic tickets sold

More than 80% of tickets to Sochi Olympic events have been sold, the organizers say.

Russian spectators, who were allocated 70% of the total available, have faced lengthy lines in Sochi to collect their tickets.

More than 80 percent of tickets to Sochi Olympic events have been sold

Ticket collection points are operating at the airport, at railway stations in downtown Sochi and at the Olympic Park in the borough of Adler. Tickets can also be collected in Moscow.

A ticket for this evening opening ceremony costs 20,000 rubles ($578).
