Former supermodel Christie Brinkley has posed in a swimsuit at 59 – for the first time in over 30 years.

Christie Brinkley rolled back the years to her glory days as one of the most sought after models as she was photographed for Social Life, a new society magazine for The Hamptons.

She last appeared in a magazine in a swimsuit when she graced the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine.

The ex-wife of singer Billy Joel posed in a black two piece swimsuit at her home in the Hamptons for the photo shoot.

Christie Brinkley is also featured in other poses taken around her $30 million home for the launch issue of the magazine.

The former supermodel, who was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine in 1979, 1980 and 1981, tells the magazine she has become addicted to Instagram.

“I find when I walk with a camera in my hand, I am extra alert and attuned to all the extraordinary beauty that abounds, from the smallest detail of a powdery pistil in a flower to the texture of the sky,” she said.

“Taking pictures intensifies my appreciation and awe,” she added.

Christie Brinkley, who is worth more than $80 million and has been married four times, is lives full time in The Hamptons.

Her most recent marriage ended in a bitter acrimony after her husband Peter Cook cheated on her with a 17 year old girl

Christie Brinkley fought a protracted court battle with Peter Cook where he accused her of only being interested in her fame.

The couple had divorced in 2008 but continued to fight publicly over small amounts of money and accusations of sending rude emails and trading nasty swipes in the press.

The pair reached an out of court settlement last year with Christie Brinkley taking to her Facebook page to express her relief the dispute was settled.

Christie Brinkley wrote: “Once and for all, this is my last word on the subject. Let it be known, that I <<moved on>> from my marriage to Peter Cook the moment a police offer tapped me on the shoulder and informed me that <<my husband had been cheating on me in a two year affair with his 17 year-old-daughter>>. Since that moment, it has been an odyssey of frustration as I have navigated the court system with one goal to find peace and protection for my family from the various forms of abuse at the hands of a narcissist.”
