Chelsea Clinton, 33, an NBC News special correspondent and activist, has made it no secret that she wants children with her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, 35, saying: “Hopefully…God willing.”
Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky have just splashed out $10.5 million on a sprawling four-bedroom apartment in Manhattan’s Flatiron district, with more than enough room for a family.
A source has revealed that the former first daughter had also been absent from her daily spinning sessions at New York’s Soul Cycle, saying: “I haven’t seen her for about the past six weeks.
“It’s odd because she is usually a near daily fixture there, but she’s been scarce lately.”
Last year, her mother, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 65, confessed to Harper’s Bazaar that she was desperate to become a grandmother, saying: “Well, no pressure, because I don’t want to be one of those kinds of mothers, But obviously, someday, I’d love it.”
In 2011, when former US President Bill Clinton was asked what he wanted to accomplish in the next decade while at high-flyers retreat Davos in Switzerland, he said: “I would like to have a happy wife, and she won’t be unless she’s a grandmother. It’s something she wants more than she wanted to be president.”
When interviewed by Vogue last year, Chelsea Clinton said she wanted to start a family in a “couple of years”, admitting: “It’s certainly something that Marc and I talk a lot about. I always knew I was the center of my parents’ lives when I was growing up. And I am determined that our children feel the same way.
“Marc and I are both working really hard right now, but I think in a couple of years, hopefully… literally, God willing.
“And I hope my mom can wait that long.”
Even though their marriage was previously rumored to be in trouble, Marc Mezvinsky – who married Chelsea Clinton in July 2010 in front of 400 friends in Rhinebeck, New York – called her the “ying to (his) yang”.
The National Enquirer today reported that Chelsea Clinton – who is described as having “a heart of gold” – and Marc Mezvinsky have even been thinking of adopting a baby from Africa.
