Alex Rawlings speaks 11 languages fluently

Alex Rawlings has won a national competition to find the UK’s most multi-lingual student.

The 22-year-old Oxford University undergraduate can currently speak 11 languages:

1. English
2. Greek
3. German
4. Spanish
5. Russian
6. Dutch
7. Afrikaans
8. French
9. Hebrew
10. Catalan
11. Italian

Entrants in the competition run by the publishers Collins had to be aged between 16 and 22 and conversant in multiple languages.
