Britney Spears proposed by Jason Trawick on his birthday

Hollywood agent Jason Trawick is understood to have asked for Britney Spears’ hand in marriage yesterday on his 40th birthday.

Britney Spears, 30, who has just wrapped her Femme Fatale tour, hinted at the news this morning on her Twitter page.

She tweeted: “OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for.”

Britney Spears then teased: “Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited! Xxo.”

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick will put a pre-nup into effect before they tie the knot, according to sources.

The pop star first met Jason Trawick in early 2009 following her tumultuous relationship with paparazzo Adnan Ghalib.

Britney Spears says she “made the first move” on Jason Trawick, who was her then her agent. He stepped down from that role in May this year.

Jason Trawick was widely credited with helping to steer her in a positive direction following her 2008 breakdown.

“We’re really normal,” Britney Spears said of their relationship in March.

“We just like to watch movies. We work out a lot. We love to work out. We do stuff together like that. We take walks.”

Jason Trawick is also a father figure to Britney Spears’ two sons, Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5.

“Jason is just amazing with the boys,” Britney Spears has said.

“They look up to him so much – they adore him. He’s their hero.”

This will be Britney Spears’ third marriage.

Britney Spears wed childhood friend Jason Alexander, a childhood pal from her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, in January 2004.

The pop star, who wore a baseball cap and torn denim hot pants, said “I do” at Little White Wedding Chapel on the Las Vegas Strip at about 5:30 a.m.

Britney Spears, who was 22 at the time, filed annulment papers just 55 hours later.

Six months later she became engaged to her backup dancer, Kevin Federline.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline wed in a surprise ceremony at a private home in Studio City, California.

The ceremony was initially is planned for October 16, 2004, but as press attention mounted, the couple moved the nuptials forward.

They invited 27 friends and family members to what they said would be an engagement party before surprising guests by exchanging vows.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline went on to have two children together before officially divorcing in 2008.

Her love life has always been colourful – as a teenager she famously dated fellow former Mouseketeer and ‘N Sync band member Justin Timberlake.

They split in March 2002 after a three-year romance that had fans and tabloids in a frenzy.

After they parted ways, Timberlake made reference to Britney Spears in the video clip to his hit, Cry Me a River.

The clip featured a Britney Spears look-alike and the storyline fuelled rumours that she had cheated on him.
