Speaking for the first time about the photos which became an internet sensation Scarlett Johansson said she wasn’t ashamed to have taken the shots.
Scarlett Johansson even joked: “I know my best angles.”
The actress said she had taken the two self portraits on her cell phone and sent them to her then husband, Ryan Reynolds.
Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds split up after two years of marriage in December 2010.
Scarlett Johansson said the photos – which showed her reflected in a mirror – were taken three years ago when she was dating Ryan Reynolds.
“They were sent to my husband. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not like I was shooting a p***o – although there’s nothing wrong with that either,” Scarlett Johansson told Vanity Fair magazine.
The actress called the FBI after the photos hacked from her phone were leaked to the internet.
It was thought the two photos were fake until lawyers for the actress said she owned the copyright to prevent them from being further published.
FBI agents from “Operation Hackerazzi” spoke to Scarlett Johansson along with as many as 50 other celebrity victims.
He admitted offering the stolen photos to celebrity websites but denied blackmailing any of the estimated 50 victims.
Christopher Chaney was due in court in Los Angeles on Tuesday to face 26 charges of unauthorized access to a computer and wiretapping. If convicted, Christopher Chaney faces up to 121 years in prison.
Christopher Chaney, from Jacksonville, Florida, said in a TV interview he became obsessed with the stars and used his computer skills to hack into phones and email.
