Whitney Houston, 48, was nearly ejected from the Delta Airlines flight in Atlanta after refusing to fasten her seatbelt despite being asked by a steward, celebrity website TMZ reported.
According to the celebrity website, another crew member came over and warned the famous singer that if she did not buckle up she would have to be kicked off.
Sources close to Whitney Houston, who has previously been voted the greatest diva of all time, told TMZ that she “overreacted a little bit after missing an earlier flight but she’s still 100% sober and was on the way to Detroit for her first day of shooting a new movie”.
Whitney Houston has been struggling since 2009 to make a comeback after years away from the spotlight due to drug addiction.
According to some critics, the quality of her voice has been affected by the drug use.
In an interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Whitney Houston admitted she used to take cocaine with marijuana.
The singer also admitted her drug use became “heavy” after the 1992 film The Bodyguard.
Whitney Houston said: “You put your marijuana, you lace it, you roll it up and you smoke it… it’s like heroin and cocaine speedballing, but you level it off, with marijuana.”
She finally stopped drug use in 2006, when she checked into rehab with the support of her mother Cissy Houston and Clive.
After that moment, she has struggled to thrill fans during her comeback Nothing But Love tour, and last year many fans demanded refunds after seeing her shows, claiming she was “wheezing” her way through songs.
