Madonna: “I absolutely loathe hydrangeas”. Venice Film Festival press conference.

Madonna’s Wallis Simpson movie: world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

During a press conference at Venice Film Festival one eager audience member presented Madonna with a hydrangea.

After this touching gesture, Madonna, 53, was caught voicing her disgust at the gift because the press conference microphone was left on.

While Madonna smiled and said thank you to the fan she quickly put the flower under the table before shooting a glaring look at her friend.

Madonna, the famous singer and actress, then proceeded to turn to the person sitting to her right and remarked: “I absolutely loathe hydrangeas.”

“I absolutely loathe hydrangeas”, said Madonna during WE film press conference at Venice Film Festival

But Madonna added: “He obviously doesn’t know that.”

The ungracious gesture Madonna made has happened at the Venice Film Festival during the press conference for her new film W.E.

It is likely that Madonna, who is the W.E. film director, was unaware that cameras were already rolling as she ungraciously accepted the floral gift.

At the press conference, Madonna has also revealed that she is working on a new album which is set to be released early next year.

Madonna, who released Hard Candy three years ago told SVT that she is heading to New York to work on the music and said:

“I’ve started a little bit of work in the studio.”

Madonna’s movie, W.E. is a drama loosely based on divorcee Wallis Simpson, whose relationship with Britain’s King Edward VIII led to his abdication in 1936.

The movie’s Royal Family storyline runs parallel with a modern day equivalent following an unhappily married New Yorker named Wally Winthrop.

Madonna herself recently clarified that the film is about a woman’s journey and not about the Duchess’ life, but the Duchess would act as the woman’s spiritual guide.

Madonna said also the success of the Oscar-winning The King’s Speech gives audiences a point of reference for her new film, W.E.

“I view the success off that film as laying the ground work for my film,” Madonna said in her press conference for the project.

“There’s a little bit of history, and a little bit of knowledge. We are not starting from a blank slate.”

The famous pop singer also said she had the support of her ex-husbands Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie when working on the project.
