“Due to the US National Hurricane Center’s forecast that hurricane-level storms may occur in New England on Sunday, August 28, local officials, promoters, Kenny Chesney, and his team have decided for safety reasons to push Chesney’s Sunday, August 28 concert at Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium to Friday, August 26.”

Kenny Chesney's Foxboro Show was rescheduled for Friday, August 26.

“Our first and foremost priority is the fans’ safety, so, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the show.”

“All tickets for Sunday’s show will be honored on the new date, and the line-up and set-times will remain the same. There will be no show on Sunday, August 28th.”

“I want the last weekend of the ‘Goin’ Coastal’ Tour to be a great expierence for everybody. But I also want it to be the safest experience for everyone,” said Kenny Chesney.

“I’ve always said Foxboro is a highlight of our tour, because the fans are ready for a great night of music and fun no matter what night it is!”

James Nolan, Gillette Stadium Senior Vice President of Finance, Administration and Operations said:

“I think it was a combination of safety as well as fan enjoyment, if we do have hurricane type weather, we don’t want people on the roads, we don’t want people in the parking lot, we don’t want them in the building, but more so with the rain we’re projected to get it makes for a really bad experience for people, so moving it seemed like the right decision.”

Crews were already constructing the stage for Kenny Chesney’s show on the field Wednesday afternoon.

James Nolan added:

“Logistically it’s a pretty big deal, on easier side is the stage behind us, we were scheduled to be done on Friday anyways, but really shifting staffing from all the public safety officials, all the support teams and then all the stadium staff and security – from parking to food and beverage, that’s kind of the difficult piece of the equation.”

As crews continue their work inside Gillette Stadium, officials are asking Kenny Chesney’s concert goers to plan accordingly now that the first concert will be on a weekday.

“We ask people to come early, our parking lots open at two o’clock, to avoid rush hour traffic, our stadium gates open at four pm, and the show is scheduled to start at five,” Nolan said.

For fans, who are not able to make Kenny Chesney’s Friday show, refunds will be offered at point of purchase.
