Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed her secrets to looking so great and maintaining her lean figure.
Writing for The Telegraph, Gwyneth Paltrow said that the key to staying in shape is a consistent exercise regime, regular detoxes and the occasional weekend treat.
Gwyneth Paltrow, 40, is an avid fan of Tracy Anderson – author and multi-platform wellness entrepreneur whose clients also include Madonna and Shakira.
Tracy Anderson and Gwyneth Paltrow are now business partners. Together they’ve produced four exercise DVDs and a book, Tracy Anderson’s 30-Day Method.
Gwyneth Paltrow also reveals that working with Tracy Anderson has completely changed her body.
The actress said: “Still, when I first started working with Tracy, finding motivation was hard. She advised me to think of exercise as an automatic routine, no different from brushing your teeth, to avoid getting distracted. Now it is part of my life.”
Gwyneth Paltrow explains how important routine is and that she exercises Monday to Friday at 10 a.m. and always sticks with it.
She advises people to create muscle tone and boost their metabolism by moving more and says we sit around for too much of the day.

In terms of her diet, Gwyneth Paltrow – who famously follows a super healthy macrobiotic diet – says that scheduling in a detox is very important.
After a gruelling schedule and lapse of overindulgence two years ago, Gwyneth Paltrow was left feeling fatigued and faint and a trip to the doctor later revealed that she was anaemic, vitamin D deficient, and that her stress levels were sky high.
Her doctor prescribed an elimination diet banning coffee, alcohol, sugar, eggs, wheat, meat and processed food to clear out her system and help her body heal – and she thinks everyone else should get on board.
Gwyneth Paltrow did, however, warn of the dangers: “I’ve done juice cleanses in the past, and in my twenties I did the Master Cleanse, which left me hallucinating after 10 days.
“Be aware: a juice detox can crash your metabolism and lead to future weight gain.”
To avoid getting distracted from your healthy eating plan, she says you should always keep healthy snacks nearby.
Gwyneth Paltrow loves healthy salad dressings (her favorite being her homemade Mexican green goddess dressing – goat’s yogurt, jalapeño, coriander and honey), which she stores in the fridge for the rest of the week and then drizzles over salads and chicken.
When it comes to monitoring weight, Gwyneth Paltrow believes it’s more important to measure in inches with a measuring tape because weighing yourself can lead to shame and guilt.
Although she maintains that following a healthy, balanced diet is key, Gwyneth Paltrow admits you should always allow yourself programmed treats.
“I often have a glass of red wine in the evening and smoke a cigarette on a Saturday. I love those moments because they are just the right amount of naughty.
“That balance keeps you vibrant. You have to live your life, after all.”
Scientists have developed a 7-minute exercise regime to provide as many health benefits as going for a long run and doing a session of weight training.
The workout requires no more than a wall, a chair and 7 minutes of your time.
However, the experts say that you must be in pain when performing the regime in order to benefit.
The article, entitled High-intensity circuit training using body Weight: Maximum Results With Minimal Investment, is published in the American College of Sports Medicine Health & Fitness.
The program includes 12 exercises that use the body’s own weight to get the same amount of exercise as doing a long run and session of weight-training in just seven minutes.
Scientists have developed a 7-minute exercise regime to provide as many health benefits as going for a long run and doing a session of weight training
“There’s very good evidence that high-intensity interval training provides many of the fitness benefits of prolonged endurance training but in much less time,” Chris Jordan, director of exercise physiology at the Human Performance Institute in Orlando, and co-author of the new article, told the New York Times.
Previous research has found that just a few minutes of training at an intensity approaching your maximum capacity produces molecular changes within muscles comparable to those of several hours of running or bike riding.
Interval training, though, requires intervals. The scientists who devised this new workout say that to get the maximum benefits the extremely intense activity must be intermingled with brief periods of recovery.
In the program outlined by Chris Jordan and his colleagues, this recovery is provided in part by a 10-second rest between exercises. This rest is extended by alternating the muscles used in each exercise.
During eat set of exercises, the unexercised muscles have a moment to “catch their breath”, which makes the order of the exercises important.
The exercises should be performed in rapid succession, allowing 30 seconds for each.
But to get maximum benefits the intensity must hover at around 8 on what they term as the discomfort scale of 1 to 10.
Chris Jordan says that the 7 minutes should be unpleasant.

The only child of star Cher still takes dance classes and has added martial arts training to his exercise regime.
He has transformed his diet too, saying: “I’ve just changed the way I eat. Diets don’t work. You just have to change what you eat, and I have.”
Chaz Bono initially used Freshology delivered-meal but now prepares food himself, saying: “I cook a lot of different stuff.
“I really avoid grains and starches, so meats and vegetables and fruits are my diet. I make them all different ways to keep it interesting.”
Chaz Bono is thought to be still single after calling off his engagement with fiancée, Jennifer Elia, after 12 years together in December 2011.

Lisa Rennison, a mother who shrunk from a size 18 to a size 6 in just six months by dramatically changing her lifestyle, has developed such a passion for keep-fit that she has become a fitness instructor.
Lisa Rennison, 40, from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, has kept 6 stone (84 lbs) off for 12 years by dedicating herself to a strict diet and gruelling exercise regime.
She now teaches ab-toning, spin, body combat, circuit training and body conditioning classes at three different gyms near her home.
Lisa Rennison cycles to and from work (a total of one hour every day, 70 miles per week) and runs two back-to-back hour-long classes at the gym, five or six days a week.

Her fab ab exercises:
- Cycle crunches: Lie on your back with your legs in the air and spin them around while you roll side to side. It works on your obliques and your legs
- Sit-up crunches: Lie on your back and lift your legs and your upper body – if you use weights too it’s even better
- Full sit-ups: Lie down, bend your legs and keep them on the floor, and lift your whole upper body.
- Jack Knife: Lying down and pulling your legs and arms up simultaneously.
- V-Sit: Raise your legs straight in front of you and lift your upper body to meet them.
- Russian Twists: Sit down, hold a ball, and turn your upper body from side to side with your feet on the ground
- The Plank: Hold your body up, flat, in the air, on your elbows
- Scissors: Lie on your back with your legs off the floor and scissor them.
Her current diet:
Breakfast: I always eat the same breakfast, a bowl of oats mixed with water and chopped fruit like strawberries, blueberries and bananas, plus two tablespoons of fat-free yoghurt and decaff tea
Snack: I drink lots of water, and if I have to snack I eat fruit, especially bananas which are good for energy, or apples celery and carrots which make you feel full
Lunch: A wholemeal pitta or roll with Quorn – I don’t eat a lot of meat – plus spices like chillies which speed up metabolism. I always eat loads of salad, vegetables and fruit, especially beetroot and chickpeas, plus a tiny bit of extra extra light mayonnaise or yoghurt
Dinner: Quorn meatballs with my own tomato sauce and vegetables. I also have wholewheat pasta – I don’t eat any white food. For dessert I’ll eat fruit.
Special treat: If I’m in the mood for something sweet I mix cocoa powder with yoghurt to make it really chocolatey and delicious.
Gregg Blanchard, who was once house-bound due to his crippling 804 lbs weight, has lost 330 lbs in a single year.
Gregg Blanchard, from Manchester, New Hampshire, was so morbidly obese, he could not move without crutches, or even take a shower, completely dependant on the help of wife Ann.
Now, though, he has lost almost half of his former body weight, thanks to a new diet and exercise regime.
Gregg Blanchard told local news channel WMUR 9: “I’m now 474 pounds. That’s 330 pounds gone.”
His weight-loss journey first began in September 2011 after he appeared on the TV station for the first time.
“I looked at myself on TV, and I could not believe I was that big,” he said.
“You look at yourself, but when I watched it, it was like, <<How did I get that size?>>”

The process has been a struggle though. Gregg Blanchard has suffered a series of infections over the past year that have kept him in hospital for months at a time.
“What happened was I wasn’t getting that fuel my body needed,” he explained.
“I felt lethargic and didn’t feel like working out.”
Regardless, Gregg Blanchard was determined, and his impressive weight-loss is proof of that.
Speaking to WMUR 9 in October 2011, he said of his early progress: “It’s not just pounds, it’s walking without crutches. Now, I use a cane sparingly.
“The little things make much more of a difference than the number on the scale.”
Gregg Blanchard’s weight-loss so far has also been thanks in part to personal trainer Mary Wiseman, who has helped him go from virtually bed-bound to walking down the street.
Mary Wiseman said: “We had to take that first step again. When he did, we were on a roll, down the steps and <<let’s go for a walk>>.”
They reached a new milestone recently, when Gregg Blanchard was finally able to fit in a car, and took a trip to Mary Wiseman’s gym.
Gregg Blanchard is now attending sessions with her there regularly. His new goal is to accompany his wife on a trip to North Carolina next year.
“I used to be the 804-pound man,” he said.
“I don’t want to be referred to like that. That was the old me.”

Moustafa Ismail, an Egyptian-born bodybuilder, has just had his 31 inch biceps crowned the biggest in the world.
Moustafa Ismail, 24, has spent ten years pumping iron twice a day and his upper arms now have the same circumference as a grown man’s waist.
But despite his cartoon proportions he hates spinach.
Instead “Big Mo” eats as much as 3 lbs of chicken, 1lbs of steak or fish and four cups of almonds washed down with two gallons of water and three litres of protein shakes.
The bodybuilder was so dedicated to bulking up his arms he moved his whole family to America to gain access to better workout equipment.

The muscle man said: “People always say you remind me of Popeye the sailor man.
“This makes me laugh as the truth is I don’t have any spinach in my diet – I can’t stand the stuff.
“Actually I think my arms are now bigger than the cartoon character.”
Moustafa Ismail, who lives with his wife Carolina, started bodybuilding ten years ago in a bid to keep fit.
But after hitting the gym he received hundreds of compliments on his bulging biceps and decided to concentrate all of his efforts on making them even bigger.
Five years ago, when he failed to win a place in the Egyptian bodybuilding team he swapped his home country for the USA.
He now trains at least twice a day and can lift an incredible 500 lbs.
The gym fanatic admits to taking protein shakes to help with his bodybuilding but puts his bulging body down to genetics – his father was an Egyptian wrestler.
He has a daily exercise regime of 5:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. during which he concentrates on cardio, strength-training and body sculpting, using heavy and light isolated weights.
When Moustafa Ismail is not pumping iron he’s pumping gas at the two petrol station he owns near his home in Massachusetts.
“Working out makes my mood better. You’re just focusing.
“And I like that in this type of sport you can see your improvement in your shape,” he says.
“I know they are growing, my chest, my shoulders, my arms. I love weights.”
Moustafa Ismail’s biceps have now been confirmed as a record and he will appear in the Guinness Book of World Records 2013, which is launched in London today.

She has been keeping her fans updated with her diet and exercise regime on her Twitter page.
And earlier this week Kim Kardashian tweeted that she was keen to tone up, writing: “Back on my workout grind!”
Kim Kardashian’s bikini pictures came after she was subjected to abuse on Twitter over her weight.
After she received comments surrounding her figure, and the size of her derriere on the micro-blogging site, sister Khloe Kardashian came forward to defend her sibling.
Khloe Kardashian wrote on Twitter: “Still get disgusted by how people judge others by weight. Either <<fat>> or <<skinny>>. Nothing is ever good enough…
“Throwing stones behind a screen. If you must judge a person. Try judging their soul. My brick walls are getting higher and higher.

Jessica Simpson was spotted leaving the gym again yesterday and her sessions are clearly paying off.
As she approached her car, Jessica Simpson, 31, showed off her entire body for the first time since giving birth last month and she definitely looked slimmer.
The singer has quietly been working up a sweat, sticking religiously to her workout regime in a bid to shift her post-pregnancy pounds.
Wearing an all black gym outfit that consisted of leggings, a tracksuit top and trainers, she seemed eager to get into her waiting car and head home to her child.
It’s not the first time that Jessica Simpson has been seen leaving a private gym in Los Angeles as earlier this week she was spotted finishing another workout.
Jessica Simpson gave birth to her first child with her fiancé, former NFL star Eric Johnson, on May 1.

Beaming after the birth of the couple’s daughter, Maxwell Drew, Jessica Simpson looked radiant in the passenger seat of a Range Rover as a female friend took the wheel.
She paired black stretch workout wear with a leopard scarf, her wavy blonde locks falling around her shoulders.
Jessica Simpson was spotted publicly for the first time since giving birth last Wednesday as she arrived to Harley Pasternak’s gym in West Hollywood, where she has been undergoing her workout sessions.
The singer was also seen arriving to the fitness centre on Friday.
It was announced last week that Jessica Simpson, who reportedly gained 80 lbs while pregnant, would front the latest Weight Watchers campaign.
However, the singer was unable to start working out for several weeks on doctor’s orders due to having a C-section.
Appearing to have been given the all-clear, Jessica Simpson is now combining a new exercise regime with a healthy eating plan she had already kicked off.
Jessica Simpson spoke to People, in which she appeared in a photoshoot with daughter Maxwell and Eric, revealing she is eating protein-packed means and drinking home-mixed juices to help shed pounds.
Her dietary restrictions come after she was forced to deny on several occasions that she was having twins because of the size of her baby bump, which appeared to grow larger than average.
However, Jessica Simpson said in March doctors put her blooming figure down to the fact that she had excess amniotic fluid.
Now, the singer says she is anxious to shed her baby weight.
Jessica Simpson told People: “After you have your baby it’s like, <<Oh my God, what happened to my body… this is not me>>.”
The singer also revealed she planned to join Weight Watchers before she learned she was pregnant, having dealt with years of yo-yo dieting.
Jessica Simpson said she simply wants to feel comfortable in her skin again.
