Pope Francis left Seoul airport in a compact black Kia that many South Koreans would consider too humble a conveyance for a globally powerful figure.
In a live television broadcast, Pope Francis climbed into the backseat of the boxy Kia Soul, rolled down the window and waved.
Pope Francis‘ frugality and humble demeanor have received wide coverage in South Korea, a fiercely competitive country that celebrates ostentatious displays of status and wealth. This national trait can be seen in booming industries such as private tutoring and plastic surgery.

The images of the smiling pope in his little car struck a chord online, with many playing on the car’s name.
For the man called “The People’s Pope” the choice makes sense. Pope Francis has eschewed the bulletproof “popemobiles” that his predecessors used on foreign trips and urged priests around the world to travel in low-key cars.
Inside the Vatican City, Pope Francis prefers a blue Ford Focus, or when he’s out in St. Peter’s Square, a white open-topped vehicle that allows him to literally reach out and touch the masses.
South Korean media widely reported that the pope requested the smallest South Korean car during his visit. The Soul is Kia’s second-smallest model and reportedly provides more leg room than other compact cars.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has upheld Luis Suarez’s four-month ban, but the Uruguay striker can now train with new club Barcelona.
A full explanation of the ruling will not be published until a later date.
Luis Suarez’s lawyers argued world governing body FIFA’s decision to suspend him from all “football-related activity” for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup was excessive.
Luis Suarez, 27, will be available from El Clasico at Real Madrid on October 26.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has upheld Luis Suarez’s four-month ban, but the Uruguay striker can now train with new club Barcelona
The Uruguay striker will continue to serve a nine-match international ban but, having previously been banned from all “football-related activity”, he can now train and attend matches.
“The sanctions imposed on the player by FIFA have been generally confirmed,” the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said in a statement.
CAS described the ban imposed by FIFA on Luis Suarez from taking part in any football activity as “excessive”.
The panel ruled banning Luis Suarez from training would have meant the ban would still have an impact on the player after the end of the suspension.
Luis Suarez’s legal team said the appeal was a success after they argued FIFA had “misapplied its own rules when considering the case and the sanction it imposed was disproportionate”.
Although the team confirmed the possibility of appealing the CAS decision to the Swiss Supreme Court, the grounds for appeal are “very restricted”.
Luis Suarez was a Liverpool player at the time of his clash with Giorgio Chiellini but has since left to join Barcelona in a $120 million deal.
Kevin Ward’s father spoke publicly for the first time about the death of his son, and blamed Tony Stewart for striking and killing the 20-year-old sprint driver during a race at Canandaigua Motorsports Park on Saturday night.
Kevin Ward Jr. and Tony Stewart had contact during an Empire Super Sprints Series race in the upstate New York half-mile dirt track. Afterward, Kevin Ward got out of his car, ran onto the track and angrily gestured at Tony Stewart. Seconds later, Tony Stewart’s right-rear tire struck Kevin Ward Jr. and threw him an estimated 20 to 30 feet, fatally injuring him.
Kevin Ward Sr. placed the blame for his son’s death on Tony Stewart, who has not spoken publicly since the accident.
“The reason he [Kevin Ward Jr.] probably got out of that car is who put him into the wall. He was definitely put into the wall,” Kevin Ward Sr. told Syracuse.com.
“Tony Stewart was the best damn driver by far on the track that night. Why he had to go up as high as he did and hog my son, there’s no reason for it.
Tony Stewart’s right-rear tire struck Kevin Ward Jr. and threw him an estimated 20 to 30 feet, fatally injuring him
“Apparently, Tony Stewart was the only one driving out there who didn’t see him,” Kevin Ward Sr. told the website, noting that several other drivers on track avoided his son.
” … The one person that knows what happened that night is possibly facing 10 years in prison. Is he going to say what he done?”
Sunday afternoon, Tony Stewart issued the following statement: “There aren’t words to describe the sadness I feel about the accident that took the life of Kevin Ward Jr. It’s a very emotional time for all involved, and it is the reason I’ve decided not to participate in today’s race at Watkins Glen. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and everyone affected by this tragedy.”
The visitation for Kevin Ward Jr. was scheduled for August 13 from at Trainor Funeral Home in Boonville, N.Y.
The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. on August 14 at South Lewis High School.
Ontario County Sheriff Philip Povero said he expects the investigation of the accident and Ward’s death to take at least two more weeks.
Broadway’s lights were dimmed on August 13 in memory of Robin Williams following the actor’s death earlier this week.
Charlotte St Martin of New York’s Broadway League called Robin Williams “a comedic genius with limitless talent” who had “left this world far too early”.
Robin Williams, who took his own life at the age of 63, will also be remembered at the Primetime Emmy Awards on August 25.
Plans are under way for a “proper and meaningful remembrance”, said executive producer Don Mischer.

Robin Williams made an appearance at last year’s ceremony during an In Memoriam segment to his comic mentor, Jonathan Winters.
Simon Pegg has become the latest celebrity to pay tribute to Robin Williams, who will be heard voicing a dog in Pegg’s upcoming comedy Absolutely Anything.
Robin Williams, said Simon Pegg at the premiere of his new movie Hector and the Search for Happiness, was “an extraordinary man and performer” who had “absolutely” been one of his comedy heroes.
Sinead O’Connor also paid tribute to Robin Williams by dedicating a concert in London to him on Tuesday.
The Irish performer went on to say “the choice that Robin made” was “a very bad idea” and urged anyone “contemplating that choice” to reconsider.
Robin Williams, a dedicated fan of computer games, is also to be memorialized by Blizzard Entertainment, the company behind the popular World of Warcraft series.
“You gave us so much joy in our lives and we hope you enjoyed your time in our world,” its makers tweeted.
“We’ll see you in-game.”
The cast of Broadway show Aladdin also paid tribute to Robin Williams with an impromptu curtain call sing-along of Friend Like Me.
Zelda Williams has announced that she is leaving Twitter because of social media abuse after her father Robin Williams’ death.
The 25-year-old actress posted that she was deleting Twitter account from her devices “maybe forever”.
It appears at least two people sent her “photoshopped” images claiming to show Robin Williams’ body.
Robin Williams was found dead at his California home on Monday after taking his own life at the age of 63.

Police said Robin Williams had been treated for depression and killed himself by hanging.
Zelda Williams initially posted a tribute to her father on Twitter saying: “I love you. I miss you. I’ll try to keep looking up.”
Later, she asked for two Twitter users to be reported for abuse, before deleting her message.
Zelda Williams said on Tuesday she had now decided to leave the site.
Earlier she posted a statement on Tumbl thanking people for support but also sending a message to “those sending negativity”.
“Know that some small, giggling part of him is sending a flock of pigeons to your house to poop on your car. Right after you’ve had it washed,” Zelda Williams said.
Lenovo has reported a 23% jump in net profit for Q2 2014 as laptop sales outperformed industry average.
For the three months to June, net profit rose to $214 million. Revenue in the same quarter jumped 18% from the previous year to $10.4 billion.
Lenovo’s core business lies in personal computers and accounts for 49% of total revenue in the quarter to June.
Laptop sales rose 12% in that period, when the industry was in a downturn.
The world’s biggest maker of personal computers said the PC industry saw a 3.7% decline in laptop shipments for the three months to June, when compared to the same period last year.
The latest figures indicate Lenovo has maintained its status as market leader for PCs, with a higher global market share of nearly 20% when compared to last year.
Lenovo has reported a 23 percent jump in net profit for Q2 2014 as laptop sales outperformed industry average
In a statement which accompanied the earnings release, Lenovo Chairman Yang Yuanqing said: “This has been a quarter of milestones for Lenovo – record PC share, a number three ranking in worldwide tablets for the first time and an even stronger number four global smartphone position.”
Lenovo has been making moves to diversify away from the shrinking global PC market. Its “Mobile Device Business” includes smartphones and tablets.
For the first time ever, Lenovo said it had sold more smartphones than PCs, with a record volume of 15.8 million units. That is a 39% gain from the previous year.
Yang Yuanqing also said: “As the PC industry recovers, the smartphone market continues its shift from premium to mainstream, and our acquisitions of Motorola Mobility and IBM x86 proceed toward completion, we see even more opportunity to keep growing rapidly.
“Lenovo continues to outperform the market and meet our commitments to improve profitability in our core businesses, while building strong pillars for future growth across our entire portfolio.”
The company has been on an acquisition spree. Earlier this year it struck a deal to acquire IBM’s low-end server unit.
Lenovo is also in the process of acquiring Motorola’s handset business from Google.
Both deals are awaiting regulatory approval, which analysts say could come as early as the third quarter of this year.
Chris Brown appeared in a Los Angeles court on August 13 for a progress report.
Judge James Brandlin reduced Chris Brown’s drug test requirement from three times to twice a week and said he’s been in compliance with his probation officer and cooperating with his therapist.

The probation department asked that Chris Brown’s community labor requirement be bumped from three days a week to four, but Judge James Brandlin denied the request.
The 25-year-old rapper was jailed from mid-March until early June for violating his probation by getting into an altercation outside a Washington, D.C., hotel last year.

News of the reinstated specialty menu item hit on Monday, August 11, when Burger King’s official account tweeted: “Yes, this is real life. #Chickenfriesareback,” causing widespread celebration.
Scott Disick’s hashtag indicates he is a paid partner of the fast food chain. In total he spent $205.28 on the chicken fries, paying the lofty bill in cash.
Protesters and police have clashed again in Ferguson, Missouri, during a fourth night of unrest since black teenager Michael Brown was shot dead by police.
Crowds gathered in the St Louis suburb on Wednesday night despite a police order to leave by the end of the day. Tear gas was fired at angry protesters.
Eyewitnesses have said Michael Brown, 18, had his arms raised when he was shot dead by an officer on Saturday.
Police say there was a struggle and the officer suffered facial injuries.
Earlier on Wednesday, the St Louis County Police Department asked protesters to gather only in the daylight hours and to disperse “well before the evening hours” for safety reasons.
The plea came after three nights of tense, sometimes violent protests that resulted in dozens of arrests, looting and the burning of a shop.

Despite this appeal to stay away, and an earlier call for calm from President Barack Obama, the anger seemed as palpable as ever on the streets of Ferguson on Wednesday night.
Heavily armored vehicles blocked off streets and protesters linked arms defiantly as they were told through loudspeakers to leave the area or face arrest.
Molotov cocktails were thrown at lines of police and they launched smoke bombs and fired tear gas.
Two journalists were briefly detained by police earlier on Wednesday while working inside a McDonald’s restaurant.
One of them, Wesley Lowery of the Washington Post, later tweeted: “Apparently, in America, in 2014, police can manhandle you, take you into custody, put you in cell & then open the door like it didn’t happen.”
Civil rights activists and Michael Brown’s family and friends have called for an end to violent clashes with the police, while also demanding the Ferguson police department release the name of the officer who shot and killed the teen.
Police say the officer has not been named because his life would be in danger.
President Barack Obama has promised a full investigation by the US Department of Justice into Michael Brown’s death, and the FBI has launched its own inquiry.
Pope Francis has arrived in South Korea, beginning his first visit to Asia since he took over the papacy in March 2013.
During his trip, Pope Francis will beatify Korean Catholics who died for their faith and attend a Catholic youth festival.
The South Korean Catholic Church is one of the fastest growing in the world, with just over 5.4 million members, some 10.4% of the population.
North Korea fired short-range rockets off its east coast around the time of the Pope’s arrival.
It fired three rockets on Thursday morning as the pope’s plane approached South Korean airspace, and another two in the afternoon, according to news agencies.
Pyongyang has engaged in several such launches in recent months in what it says is a response to US and South Korean provocations – in the latest case, a military drill due to start on Monday.
South Korea’s President Park Geun-hye was at the airport to greet the pontiff.
The pontiff is expected to pay tribute to some of South Korea’s first Catholics when he beatifies 124 Koreans who died in the 18th and 19th Centuries.
After an individual is beatified, he or she is given the title “blessed”.
Pope Francis has arrived in South Korea, beginning his first visit to Asia since he took over the papacy in March 2013
The beatification ceremony will be held on Saturday at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul, with up to one million people expected to attend.
Pope Francis is also attending Asian Youth Day, a festival for young Catholics from across the region.
He is also scheduled to meet students who survived the Sewol ferry disaster that claimed more than 300 lives.
A Mass for Peace and Reconciliation will be held in the Myeong-dong cathedral in Seoul on Monday, on the final day of his trip.
There Pope Francis will deliver a message of peace for the divided Koreas and East Asia, according to Yonhap News Agency.
North Korea rejected an invitation by the Archdiocese of Seoul for 10 North Korean Catholics to attend the final mass, South Korean officials say.
It is not clear how many Catholics there are in North Korea.
According to a UN Human Rights Council report released in February 2014, apart from the few organized state-controlled churches, Christians were prohibited from practicing their religion and were persecuted.
The trip is the first visit by a pope to Asia in almost 20 years. Pope Francis is due to visit again in January when he travels to Sri Lanka and the Philippines, one of only two Asian countries with a Catholic majority – the other being East Timor.
Pope John Paul II was the last pope to visit South Korea in 1989, where he prayed for reunification between the North and the South.
Meanwhile, on his way to South Korea Pope Francis also sent a telegram to China’s leaders, a tradition when the pontiff flies over a country.
“I extend my best wishes to your excellency and your fellow citizens, and I invoke divine blessings of peace and well being upon the nation,” the telegram said.
The Vatican has no ties with Beijing, which does not recognize the Vatican’s authority and runs its own Catholic Church.
The last time a pope visited the region, he had to avoid Chinese air space.
In what a Church spokesman has called “a sign of detente”, the papal plane was given permission to use Chinese air space.
More than 100 Chinese people were due to attend Asian Youth Day, but about half were unable to attend due to “a complicated situation inside China”, said a spokesman for a committee organizing the Pope’s visit.

Gwyneth Paltrow is dating Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk, four months after announcing her split from husband Chris Martin
An insider told Us Weekly “things started off professionally” between the pair. That relationship evolved, however, and Gwyneth Paltrow recently stepped out with the 43-year-old executive producer for a dinner date at East Borough in L.A.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, 37, announced their “conscious uncoupling” after more than 10 years of marriage four months ago in a joint statement. The parents of daughter Apple, 10, and son Moses, 8, have remained amicable and have been spotted out together since the news.
Brad Falchuk also recently got out of a marriage. His wife of 10 years, Suzanne, filed for divorce in March 2013. The exes share a daughter and son.
Justin Bieber pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of careless driving and resisting arrest seven months after his arrest in Miami Beach following what police initially called an illegal street drag race.
The singer’s plea deal with prosecutors, detailed at a court hearing, includes a 12-hour anger management course, a $50,000 charitable contribution and fines.
The deal allows Justin Bieber, 20, to avoid a DUI conviction.

Justin Bieber was not present at the hearing before Miami-Dade County Judge William Altfield. Defense attorney Mark Shapiro said Justin Bieber had already given the $50,000 to a local children’s charity.
The singer was arrested early January 23 in Miami Beach after what police described as an illegal street race between Justin Bieber’s rented Lamborghini and a Ferrari driven by R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff. Neither was charged with drag racing and there was little evidence they were even exceeding posted speed limits. Alcohol breath tests found Justin Bieber’s level below the 0.02 limit for underage drivers, but urine tests showed the presence of marijuana and the anti-anxiety drug Xanax in his system.
Justin Bieber was also charged with resisting arrest after a profanity-laced tirade against police officers, as well as driving on an expired license.
A second senior doctor in Sierra Leone, Modupeh Cole, was confirmed dead from Ebola on Wednesday as West Africa anxiously awaited the arrival of experimental drugs to tackle the deadliest-ever outbreak of the virus.
Sierre Leone‘s chief medical officer Brima Kargbo said Modupeh Cole, a senior physician in the capital Freetown, had been “instrumental in the fight against the Ebola virus”.
Modupeh Cole’s death came only a fortnight after the country’s only virologist and leading Ebola expert, Umar Khan, succumbed to the tropical disease.

Another of the worst-hit countries, Liberia, is scrambling to save two of its own infected doctors and hopes an experimental serum from the US will arrive in time.
The presidency said Tuesday it had received approval from the FDA for the use of a barely-tested ZMapp treatment that has shown positive early results.
The two infected doctors have given their written consent to try the drug, which will be delivered to the country within 48 hours. A third doctor has already died from the virus.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared Tuesday it was ethical to try largely untested treatments “in the special circumstances of this Ebola outbreak”.
The company behind ZMapp said it had sent all its available supplies to the region following an outcry over the fact it had so far only been used on Westerners, but supplies are extremely limited.
At least some of Russian aid convoy’s 280 trucks are stalled in the Voronezh area, some 300 miles from Moscow after Ukrainian officials said they would not let it in.
Other trucks are said to be heading further south.
There have been fears Russia could use the convoy as a pretext for military action in Ukraine.
The UN says the conflict’s death toll has doubled in the past two weeks.
Altogether, at least 2,086 people have been killed since mid-April, when Ukraine sent troops against pro-Russia rebels in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The fighting has displaced almost 300,000 people, many of whom have fled to Russia.
The Russian convoy spent Tuesday night in Voronezh after leaving a military base near Moscow on Tuesday amid fanfare.

A spokesman for President Vladimir Putin said the mission was proceeding in co-operation with the International Committee Red Cross.
The convoy was on the move inside Russia, Dmitry Peskov said, but did not comment on the route.
A Red Cross spokesman told a news conference he did not know the final route for the aid.
“I tried to get information where exactly this convoy is right now before coming here, but I don’t know the exact location still,” said Andre Loersch.
He said the ICRC had received a general description of what is in the trucks. Once it had received a more accurate list, it would be able to start work on how the aid could be transferred and distributed.
Russian TV showed the cargo, including grain, baby food and medicine, bound for civilians trapped by fighting in the area held by pro-Russia rebels.
Ukrainian officials insist that aid should pass through a government-controlled border post and be accompanied by Red Cross officials.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday that Moscow had agreed to these conditions.
“Provocation by a cynical aggressor is not permissible on our territory,” Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said on his Facebook page.
Ukraine’s PM Arseny Yatsenyuk described the Russian move as “boundless cynicism”.
“First they deliver tanks, Grad [rocket launchers], terrorists and bandits…, and then they deliver water and salt,” Arseny Yatsenyuk said.
Celine Dion has announced she is putting her career on hold “indefinitely” for health and family reasons.
Celine Dion, 46, announced on her website she was cancelling all performances to focus on her health, her husband’s health and their children.
The singer’s Las Vegas shows up until March have all been cancelled, as well as her planned tour of Asia this autumn.
Celine Dion’s manager-husband, Rene Angelil, had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in December.
The singer is also still recovering from an illness that inflamed her throat muscles and has not been able to perform any of her scheduled Las Vegas shows since July 19.

A statement on Celine Dion’s website said she had made the decision “in order to focus 100% of her attention” on her husband and family.
It added it had been a “very difficult and stressful time for the couple as they deal with the day-to-day challenges of fighting this disease while trying to juggle a very active showbusiness schedule, and raise their three young children”.
Celine Dion said: “I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children.”
“I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support.”
Fans who bought tickets for future shows will be eligible for refunds.
Celine Dion previously took a two-year hiatus from 2000 to 2002 to help care for her husband when he was diagnosed with throat cancer. Soon after, she gave birth to her first child.
She has been a regular performer at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, which began with a near five-year residency from 2003 to 2007.
Celine Dion’s current residency began in 2011 and, although it was originally billed as a three-year event, was last year extended through to 2019.

Global oil prices have reached their lowest level in nine months, despite fears that conflicts in Ukraine and Iraq would inflate prices.
Brent crude oil has fallen to $103.70 a barrel, its lowest rate since November 2013.
In July 2014, oil hit its highest level in nine months, valued at $115.71 per barrel. Violence in Iraq was cited as the reason for the rise.
The current dip in price has led to an increase in demand from wealthy states.
Global oil prices have reached their lowest level in nine months, despite fears that conflicts in Ukraine and Iraq would inflate prices
Iraq has scheduled to export about 2.4 million barrels per day of Basra Light crude in September, up from 2.2 million in the previous month.
In a report on Tuesday, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said: “Oil prices seem almost eerily calm in the face of mounting geopolitical risks spanning an unusually large swathe of the oil-producing world.”
The IEA said that while tensions in Iraq and fighting in Ukraine continued, other oil resources were available, such as those of the US, Libya and Saudi Arabia.
The agency said: “The Atlantic market is currently so well supplied that incremental Libyan barrels are reportedly having a hard time finding buyers.”
It had been thought that sanctions imposed by the US and EU on Russia over its support for Ukrainian rebels might affect oil distribution.
However, the IEA said: “The consensus in the industry seems to be that neither set of sanctions will have any tangible near-term impact on supplies.”
Brazil’s presidential candidate Eduardo Campos has died in a plane crash, party members and local officials say.
The Brazilian Air Force reported the plane was a Cessna 560XL.
The plane carrying Eduardo Campos came down in bad weather in a residential area of the port city of Santos, in Sao Paulo state.
Local reports say four other passengers and the two pilots were also killed.
President Dilma Rousseff has declared three days of national mourning and cancelled campaign events.
The plane carrying Eduardo Campos came down in bad weather in a residential area of the port city of Santos
Dilma Rousseff’s Vice President, Michel Temer, also expressed his regret over the death of Eduardo Campos, who had been running third in the polls for October’s election.
Eduardo Campos’ family had actively opposed Brazil’s military rule between 1964 and1985.
A married father of five children, Eduardo Campos, 49, served two terms as governor of the north-eastern Pernambuco state.
His vice-presidential candidate, Marina Silva, a popular politician and a former government minister, was reportedly meant to have been on the plane with him but decided not to travel.
Eduardo Campos was flying from Rio de Janeiro to Guaruja airport, outside Sao Paulo, when it hit bad weather, aviation authority spokesman Pedro Luis Farcic said.
According to air force officials, air traffic control lost contact with the plane after it was unable to land at Guaruja due to bad weather.
It plunged into several houses in a densely-populated neighborhood, sending plumes of smoke into the air.
Local residents said the sky was cloudy and it was raining at the time of the crash.
All seven people aboard the plane, including a campaign photographer and cameraman, a press adviser, as well as two pilots, died in the crash, City Hall press officer Patricia Fagueiro told the Associated Press news agency.
Susan Schneider was the third wife and now widow of late actor Robin Williams.
Graphic designer Susan Schneider and Robin Williams tied the knot October 23, 2011, after two years of dating, at the luxurious Meadowood Resort in the Napa Valley town of St. Helena, California. The couple honeymooned in Paris.
Robin Williams said at the time, of Susan Schneider: “I’m the luckiest man in the world… Being with a comedian, living with a comedian, is like keeping a chimp for a pet. You know we’re kind of cute but after a little a while, (you get thrown out). So if you find someone who goes, <<OK I really like you>>, You go, <<You like me?>> She’s gorgeous and so sweet. Oh, she’s beautiful.”
Robin Williams was previously married to Valerie Velardi, with whom he has son Zak, and to Marsha Garces, with whom he has two children, daughter Zelda and son Cody.
Susan Schneider, now 51, met Robin Williams shortly before he had heart surgery in mid-2009 when she nursed him back to health at his California home.

She was trained professionally as a graphic designer and for the past two decades she has been passionate about painting and her works of art sell for a lot of cash.
She said she is mostly captivated by nature, emotions and the beauty of people.
Susan Schneider went on to pursue studies in graphic design during her college years. After a few years in the design program at UCLA she was eager to return to her native Marin County. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from California College of the Arts in 1989. She had the fortunate opportunity to work beside several prestigious Bay Area designers and ultimately began her own company.
Susan Schneider has not only served local schools with her design talents, but she has also helped raise funds by donating her paintings at school auctions. She developed and designed the fundraising brand “Can Do!” for the Dixie School District education foundation.
She completed the new design for the Miller Creek Middle School logo. She is a member of the Marin Catholic Patrons of the Arts wherein she assists with graphic design and with raising funds for the school’s arts program.
Through her business, Critical Eye Design, Susan Schneider continues doing design projects, primarily creating logos and identities. She is works on painting commissions, as well as developing her own work for exhibits.
Susan Schneider and Robin Williams’ residence was the actor’s house in Sea Cliff, a neighborhood in San Francisco, California.
Robin Williams took his own life after telling friends he had “serious money troubles”, it has emerged.
The actor had sought treatment for depression in the weeks before his death at the age of 63.
Robin Williams, who was once reputed to be worth $120 million, had complained of losing a large chunk of his fortune in alimony payments to his two ex-wives, and had been trying to sell his 600-acre ranch in California to raise much-needed funds.
Police said Robin Williams had been found dead in a bedroom at his home by his personal assistant.
Although Robin Williams was famous for his hyperactive comedy brain, he had spent much of his life battling alcoholism, drug abuse and depression.
The actor’s final bout of depression, which several weeks in a rehabilitation clinic had failed to lift, may have been triggered in part by the cancellation of his latest television show The Crazy Ones in May, after just one series.
According to a family friend quoted by Radar Online: “All he could talk about were serious money troubles…Robin was known for being so generous to his friends and family during the height of his success, and would help anyone out that needed it.
“There was also frustration that Robin expressed at having to take television and movie roles he didn’t want to take, but had to for the pay cheque.”

For the past two years Robin Williams had been trying to sell his ranch in the Napa Valley near San Francisco, saying: “I just can’t afford it anymore.”
Despite dropping the asking price from $34 million to $28.5 million, there had been no takers. Robin Williams had even resorted to selling some of his collection of 50 bicycles to raise cash.
One neighbor who saw the actor in the days before his death said he had become “a shell of himself” and looked “drawn and thin”.
A friend of 30 years who saw Robin Williams at dinner this week said “something did not seem right”, though he added that the actor was known to suffer from mood swings.
Last September, Robin Williams, who had moved into a relatively modest bungalow in Tiburon, near San Francisco, which he inherited from his mother in 2001, spoke about having to “downsize” his life and take roles to “pay the bills” following his divorces from Valerie Velardi in 1988 and Marsha Garces in 2008.
Robin Williams said he was faced with the choice of a stand-up comedy tour, returning to television after 31 years, or taking roles in low-budget films for very low pay.
“The movies are good, but a lot of times they don’t even have distribution,” he said.
“There are bills to pay.”
He went on: “Divorce is expensive. I used to joke they were going to call it <<all the money>> but they changed it to <<alimony>>. It’s ripping your heart out through your wallet.”

Marin County assistant deputy chief coroner Lt. Keith Boyd said Robin Williams was last seen alive at 10.30 PM local time on Sunday, when his wife Susan Schneider went to bed.
Susan Schneider left the house at 10.30 AM on Monday assuming Robin Williams was still asleep in another bedroom, and he was found dead by his personal assistant at 11.55 AM when there was no response to knocks on his bedroom door.
Lt. Keith Boyd said Robin Williams was found “clothed” with a bloodied pocket knife near him and with “several acute superficial transverse cuts” on the inside of his left wrist. He appeared to have been dead for some time.
Despite reports that no suicide note was found, Keith Boyd hinted that there may have been one, saying he was not prepared to discuss “the note, or a note”.
Toxicology reports, which will determine whether Robin Williams had drugs or alcohol in his body at the time of his death, will take at least two weeks to prepare.

“When the investigation is completed, we will meet with members of the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office and discuss with them all aspects of the investigation into the crash that occurred on August 9, 2014 at the Canandaigua Speedway. After Saturday night’s incident at Canandaigua Motorsports Park, Tony Stewart decided to sit out the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International.
According to an update provided by Sheriff Povero, no evidence supports charges against Tony Stewart.
“As we speak, at this time, there are no facts that exist that support any criminal behavior or conduct or probable cause of a criminal act in this investigation,” he said.
Tony Stewart remains undecided on whether he will compete in this weekend’s Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway.
However, all of his “extra-curricular racing plans” have been canceled for the weekend and “won’t resume until further notice”.
Although the fatality occurred in a local-short track race and not a NASCAR event, a senior NASCAR official who spoke on background said the sanctioning body is studying the incident, as it does with accidents and events in other series and even other sports.
The official said that if NASCAR decides to make any changes as a result of the Stewart-Ward accident, they will not be announced until Friday, out of respect for Kevin Ward’s family. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon and evening, with the funeral Thursday.
