Students and College for a Weekend (CFAW) guests enjoyed a performance by the band Crowder and a message of encouragement from Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson during Liberty University’s Convocation.

Willie Robertson, 41, is the CEO of Duck Commander, a leading duck call manufacturer, and the executive producer of Duck Dynasty. As the only member of the family with a business degree, Willie Robertson took the company from a living room operation to a premier destination for all things outdoors.

Before Willie Robertson took the stage, Crowder gave the crowd a preview of its upcoming concert with Colton Dixon. The band performed, This I Know, a song about Christ’s love for people.

Vice President for Communications Johnnie Moore also took a few minutes to greet CFAW guests and let them know how much Liberty appreciates them.

“We want you to know that as members in the body of Christ you are our honored guests and we are really glad you are here today,” he told the crowd.

President Jerry Falwell, Jr. introduced Robertson as “the star and driving force of the biggest reality television show in the history of cable television.”

“In addition to his business savvy, Willie and his entire family are known for their faith in Jesus Christ,” Jerry Falwell said.

“They are not just some of the top celebrities of our time, but are some our nation’s most famous Christians.”

Willie Robertson shared how his father Phil came to know Christ when he was 28 years old and decided to make duck calls, a tool hunters use to lure fowl.

“Without my father making the decision to come to Christ, there would not be a show called <<Duck Dynasty>>,” he said.

“When you are moving toward God, you are moving in the right direction.”

Willie Robertson then told the story of John the Baptist pointing people to Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew and how the book of Isaiah calls John the “highway for God.”

“My challenge to you is to not let the world’s measuring stick show you what is successful,” he said.

“Our family views success (as being) able to go around the country and share the message of the Lord and to talk about our faith.”

As he finished, Willie Robertson reminded students that even though they may believe in God, Satan will always try to prevent them from spreading the Gospel.

“A base like this [Liberty University] of young people can move mountains. Thank you for watching our show – you are making a difference,” Willie Robertson said.

Duck Dynasty stars Willie and Korie Robertson opened up about their family’s fame, faith, and facial hair in a recent interview with Us Weekly.

With the exception of new addition Alan Robertson, the men of Duck Dynasty – Phil Robertson, his brother Si Robertson, and his sons Willie, Jase, and Jep Robertson – are as famous for their beards as for their duck-call business
“Phil has the classic, mature beard,” Willie Robertson said of his father.

“Jase’s is kind of red – it’s weird, like him! Jep grooms his the most: He’s got all these special lotions and perfumes that he puts on.”

In fact, Jep Robertson has been known to shampoo, condition, and even blow-dry his impressive facial hair. In that way, he’s the opposite of his uncle.

“Si’s beard is really awkward,” Willie Robertson reveals.

“One side is longer than the other, and it’s about three different colors. I don’t think he washes it. It’s nasty.”

Willie Robertson says the best beard of the bunch is his own.

“Willie was clean-shaven and actually a bit preppy when we got married,” Korie Robertson told Us Weekly.

“Now I absolutely love his beard and don’t want him to go back!”

This week’s episode of Duck Dynasty showed Si Robertson feeling neglected by his family.

Uncle Si Robertson decided to draw some attention to himself by accidentally-on-purpose forcing his nephew Willie to bump into the front his truck in the Duck Commander parking lot.

“Hey, are you going to pay for this?” asked Si Robertson, pointing to the non-existent damage to his bumper.

Willie Robertson looked at dent-free bumper and shrugged: “Pay for what?”

“Look,” declared Si Robertson, wagging his finger.

“You’re going to pay for this. It’s probably going to run you $3,500.”

After a brief debate, Willie Robertson dismissed his uncle and got into his truck: “Yeah, whatever, Si.”

“You’ll be hearing from my lawyer,” warned Uncle Si.

The next day, John Godwin, Justin Martin, Jase Robertson and his brother Jep are inside Duck Commander HQ, debating the potential reproductive capabilities of mermaids. Willie Robertson arrived and learned that Si was at the doctor’s office.

“For what,” Willie asked dubiously.

“Is he sick?”

“Nah,” said Jase Robertson.

“After y’all had your wreck.”

Willie Robertson’s wife Korie came in the warehouse to announce that there was “a man outside and he said he’s here to deliver Si”.

“What is he, a pizza,” Willie cracked.

The crew went outside to see Si Robertson grandly exit out of a minivan and down a motorized ramp in his brand-new, bright blue mobility scooter.

“Si, get off that thing,” said Willie Robertson.

“I can’t,” replied Uncle Si.

“I got back damage – I’ve got residual nerve damage in my back. It compressed two or three vertebra back there – I likely broke my neck.”

Willie Robertson was not especially convinced of Si’s injuries.

“About once a year, Si comes up with some stupid excuse to miss work,” he explained.

“Last year, he was on crutches for two weeks before I finally broke down and made him employee of the month.”

The Duck Dynasty stars offered a stage show Sunday that brought their audience of several thousand to their feet at Lexington’s Rupp Arena.

For much of the two-hour show, the Robertsons in attendance – Miss Kay, Alan, Korie, John Luke, Sadie and Willie – seemed to be having as much fun as the crowd.

Willie Robertson snapped pictures of his mom, Miss Kay; Korie beamed when her children John Luke and Sadie spoke; Alan belly-laughed until he cried as John Luke, his nephew, explained his lack of sporting prowess.

“I was the catcher on my T-ball team,” said John Luke Robertson, 17, pausing just a beat.

“Think about it.”

The faith that keeps the family together, portrayed with a family prayer over dinner as each episode closes, was more deeply on display than it is on television. Each family member, sitting onstage on high stools, seemed completely engaged as dark family secrets were told again in hopes that other families could see that God could, and would, work in their lives.

“We have not always been the happy close family you see on the show,” said Alan Robertson.

The Robertsons, who have used their fame to help charitable groups, were in Lexington for a fundraiser for Frankfort Christian Academy so it can put heat and air-conditioning in the school gym.

Miss Kay Robertson, dressed with a little sass in a red shirt under a black lace tunic, somehow managed to make folks laugh as she told how family patriarch Phil drank and partied too much for too long. On Duck Dynasty, Miss Kay often gets her way with a gentle nudge and heap of something delicious and homemade on a platter, but she showed some of the steel under her soft voice and sweet smile as she talked about the early years of her marriage.

“It just got worse and worse,” she said.

At one point, Phil ran a bar and required his non-drinking wife to be the barmaid.

But, Miss Kay said, she tried to follow her grandmother’s advice to fight for her marriage no matter what. That is until Phil told her to “take her kids” and leave because they were “ruining his good time.” But, she said: “How was I supposed to be fighting when he put us out?”

Soon enough, Phil Robertson, a wreck when left on his own, found his way to the church. Forty years later, Miss Kay’s voice catches as she remembers the day Phil came to the Lord and was baptized as she stood there with her three boys, all of them crying.

Alan Robertson, the oldest brother, has the most vivid memories of his father’s dark days but still found himself at 14 secretly drinking and causing trouble while piously going to church. The veil fell at 17 when he and his buddies trashed the neighborhood. Miss Kay asked him, the one she had always depended on to do right, if he had been drinking.

“Yes, ma’am,” he said.

“I was respectful as I broke her heart,” Alan Robertson recalled.

Like the Prodigal Son, Alan Robertson returned home after an ill-conceived attempt to find himself in New Orleans and went on to become a pastor.

After the family’s trials, Alan Robertson said: “We understand God’s grace.”

Family challenges help them do the right thing in the spotlight, said John Luke. Portrayed on the show as rather quiet except when gassed up to get a tooth pulled, he told, with the timing of a comedian, how he failed at every team endeavor from basketball to chess. But, John Luke said, his struggles led him more to church, and there he found his voice.

God was preparing him, he said, when he didn’t know what he was being prepared for. He also told the audience God “is preparing you for something right now.”

Willie Robertson got one of the biggest reactions from the crowd when he repeated a performance he used to do on the school bus for quarters. As “the human juke box” he spat out a beat box rap to a Foreigner tune.

The enthusiasm for that was matched when the Duck Commander CEO had a bit of a prayer-warrior moment. Willie Robertson told the crowd that by watching Duck Dynasty, they were part of a powerful movement to change entertainment.

“You are supporting positive, pro-family entertainment where there is prayer,” he said.

Willie Robertson said families around the world are seeing their pray.

Each family member, from Willie’s elegant wife, Korie, to his earnestly adorable daughter, Sadie, made the point in her own way that the credit for much of what they have can be traced to what they believe.

And that faith in action was shown in a moment near the end of the show that probably was missed by most. While the Robertsons took a final bow, with a string of members of the military onstage behind them, Willie Robertson took the trademark stars and stripes bandanna from his head and gave it without fanfare to a veteran in a wheelchair.

One of Willie Robertson’s favorite recipes is Beans and Rice.

Excerpts from the book The Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson.

The Duck Commander CEO and Duck Dynasty star said: “A short time after Phil’s family moved to Dixie, [his father] Pa fell eighteen feet from the floor of a drilling rig and landed on his head. He broke two vertebrae in his back and ruptured his stomach. The accident nearly killed him. Doctors fused the vertebrae in his back with bone from his hip and repaired his stomach. But Pa was forced to wear a heavy Plaster-of-Paris cast from neck to hip for nearly two years and obviously couldn’t work. Making matters worse, Granny was confined to a mental hospital at the time, so Pa was left to care for five of his children while he was immobilized.

“Phil’s older brothers, Jimmy Frank and Harold, were enrolled in classes at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Both of them volunteered to come home and work to help the family make ends meet. But Pa insisted they stay in school and finish their education. The family somehow survived on Pa’s disability checks of thirty-five dollars a week. Phil’s older sister, Judy, did most of the cooking and cared for her younger siblings, Silas and Jan. Tommy and Phil gathered pecans and sold them to local markets. The family subsided on rice and beans, cornbread, and whatever fish and game the boys could catch. Rice and beans was a staple dish at the Robertson dinner table. A hundred-pound bag of rice and several cans of beans would last for weeks. There are dozens of ways to prepare rice and beans, and the recipes could be altered by adding a simple gravy or squirrels, quail, or fish so it was a perfect meal for the struggling Robertson family.

“You can be creative with this. Don’t worry about doing it exactly the way it is written, try stuff, if you don’t have an ingredient make it anyway. I make beans every time we make or buy a ham — the ham bone is the key. You will find hunks of that ham when it cooks off the bone that you never knew existed and they are delicious. NEVER throw ham bone away!”

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound dry kidney Pinto beans
  • 1/3 cup olive oil

  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 6 cups water
  • a couple of slices of bacon, cut up
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (less if you are feeding kids)
  • 2 bay leaves (if you don’t have it in your cabinet don’t worry about it)
  • a pinch of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Phil Robertson’s Cajun Style Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon parsley flakes (again, don’t sweat it if you don’t have it)
  • 1 pound Andouille sausage, sliced (Add more if you like sausage, or a different kind if this is too spicy.)
  • Ham bone with as much ham left on it as you want (I buy one that is honey glazed, take the ham off for sandwiches, then use what’s left for beans)
  • 4 cups water

  3. Stir cooked vegetables into beans.
  4. Season with bay leaves, cayenne pepper, parsley, and Cajun Style Seasoning.
  5. Bring mixture to a boil and then reduce heat to medium and cook 4 to 6 hours, or until beans are soft and done. Simmer for 2 1/2 hours.

One of Willie Robertson’s favorite recipes is Garlic Frog Legs.

Excerpts from the book The Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson.

The Duck Commander CEO and Duck Dynasty star said: “Many things in life – whether it’s food, business, or even someone’s personality – slowly evolve over time. They don’t necessarily get better overnight, but if you keep working at them and stay focused, chances are they’re going to end up being better than when you started. Take for instance my recipe for frog legs. When I was growing up, Kay’s frog legs were one of my favorite meals. But as I got older, I started experimenting with ways to cook frog legs and added my own personal touch to her recipe. Kay has probably never heard of garlic-infused grape seed oil (she’s never used anything but butter or Crisco), but that’s what I like to use to fry my frog legs. And for the record there are many infused olive oils I like using nowadays. Kay still doesn’t understand how they “infuse” oil, but I tell her, <<Don’t question, just enjoy>>.

“I had some frogs and garlic and dreamed this up one night. It is so good. For the few hundred who will actually go get frogs, try it. The rest, well… use chicken instead. Good luck.”

Ingredients:

  • Fresh mushrooms
  • Bunch of frog legs
  • Butter
  • Garlic-infused grape seed oil
  • Flour
  • Can of beer
  • White wine
  • Phil Robertson’s Zesty Cajun Style Seasoning
  • Bulb of garlic

Directions:

  1. Soak frog legs in beer for an hour or so.
  2. Season frog legs with Zesty Cajun Style Seasoning.
  3. Roll frog legs in flour and set aside.
  4. In a large black skillet bring butter and grape seed oil up to high (don’t burn the butter, it will brown when burning). It doesn’t take much oil and butter, just about a half-inch or so.
  5. When oil and butter starts sizzling, put frog legs in and brown on each side. It should be about halfway up on frogs, just enough to brown.
  6. If butter gets low, throw another half stick in. Set browned frog legs aside.
  7. With what’s left in the pan, add white wine, garlic (whole pods, peeled), mushrooms, and cook for three to four minutes.
  8. Add frog legs to white wine mix. Cover and cook at 300 degrees F for thirty minutes until meat is falling off bone. (You will know it’s done, believe me!)

One of Willie Robertson’s favorite recipes is Duck Wraps.

Excerpts from the book The Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson.

The Duck Commander CEO and Duck Dynasty star said: “I like to say Duck Commander is a lot like duck wraps. Huh? No, really it is. It’s a bunch of things that may not seem like they belong together, but when they all come together they make something spectacular. Everyone at Duck Commander brings something special to the table, and rather than fighting against one another, we complement each other. Do we have our disagreements? Of course! But we don’t take away from the unique flavors each one brings. We are all held together by a common love for family and for ducks, but more importantly we are fortunate to share a common faith. Our faith is the toothpick that holds the entire wrap together. If it wasn’t for our faith in God, I can assure you, we would fall apart.

“Simply the best way for my taste buds to eat a duck. I wrap many things but duck has such a good flavor. Play with it and add different types of “sweets” for topping. Honey is great but there are others. If you bite into the first one and don’t think it’s done, don’t panic, put them all in a pot and let them steam on low fire.”

One of Willie Robertson’s favorite recipes is Duck Wraps

One of Willie Robertson’s favorite recipes is Duck Wraps

Ingredients:

  • 8 to 12 duck breasts
  • 1 pound thin-sliced bacon
  • 8 to 12 jalapeno slices
  • 1 package cream cheese
  • 1 package Duck Commander Rub
  • 1 jar of honey

Directions:

  1. Soak duck breasts in salt water overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Cut an incision down the length of each breast and stuff with cream cheese and one jalapeno slice.
  3. Coat each stuffed duck breast with Duck Commander Rub and wrap each with one slice of bacon, securing the wrap with a toothpick.
  4. Cook wraps on an open grill until bacon is crisp and cream cheese starts to ooze out (it’s okay for the wrap to be medium-rare; don’t overcook or it will dry out).
  5. Drizzle wraps with honey and cook for an additional two minutes.

Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson and his wife Korie are the proud parents of five children, both biological and adopted.

In a touching video footage, Willie Robertson talked about the adoption of their biracial son Lil Will.

Korie and Willie Robertson’s adopted son, Lil Will, has appeared in some episodes of Duck Dynasty. The couple, who have known each other since they were young children, are also raising daughter Rebecca as a foster child, after having hosted her initially as an exchange student. Willie and Korie Robertson’s biological children are John Luke, Sadie, and Bella.

In Korie Robertson’s Twitter bio she calls herself the “proud wife” of Willie, and touches on their unique family situation: “Mom to four awesome kids plus a sweet exchange student who became ours. Love my big family. Thankful. God is good.”

Though not originally from a hunting family, Korie fit in with the Robertsons right away.

As Willie Robertson’s wife and business partner, she helped him grow the company into an ever-expanding enterprise. She serves as the Duck Commander office manager and has to make her presence known in order to keep the workshop from turning into a funhouse.

Korie met Willie Robertson in third grade when he asked her to go on a moonlit hike at summer camp.

ABC’s Last Man Standing Season 3 premiered last week-end by welcoming Duck Dynasty’s Willie and Si Robertson in the first episode, Back to School.

Willie and Si Robertson are visiting the sporting goods store in preparation for a man-versus-nature challenge.

“We don’t want nature to have a chance,” as Uncle Si Robertson puts it.

There are also oddly juxtaposed jokes about wearing camouflage to church and studying philosophy.
Max Baxter (Tim Allen) and his family welcomed the Robertsons who were quipping about deer hunting and whatnot.

Willie and Si Robertson are also a little concerned about “Lady-beard”, aka Kyle (Christoph Sanders). It seems that Mandy broke his brain with all of her intellectual college talk.

Willie Robertson knows what to do though. Si Robertson, however, seems to be advocating murder as a more permanent solution to the problem.

Duck Dynasty’s Willie, Jase and Si Robertson were in Detroit on Sunday for a sold-out performance at MotorCity Casino, and the Tigers wisely took advantage of the opportunity.

Uncle Si, Willie and Jase Robertson were invited to Comerica Park to throw out the first pitch at Chicago White Sox vs. Detroit Tigers.

Fox Sports Detroit’s Steve Kornacki wrote about the event: “The sellout crowd at Comerica recognized them as they walked onto the field because their long beards quickly catch your attention. They also were wearing Tigers home uniform tops and baseball caps. Willie, of course, wore his standard stars-and-stripes bandana. Many of the fans gave them a standing ovation as they strode to the mound.”

“That was some great welcome we got,” said Jase Robertson.

“The crowd was awesome.”

Last night’s Duck Dynasty showed Korie and Willie Robertson in the dentist’s operating room while their teens, John Luke and Sadie, were having wisdom teeth removed.

It also seemed out of character for a man like Phil Robertson, so grounded in Christian values, to consider discarding rotten meat in his church’s dumpster without first asking permission.

It felt contrived that Jase and Jep Robertson couldn’t get to the manager of the Mexican restaurant without first being seated, served salsa and chips and drinks, and being serenaded by a mariachi band, while Phil was waiting in the truck with a load of rotten seafood and meat.

Last night’s episode of Duck Dynasty focused on wisdom teeth removal for John Luke and Sadie, Willie and Korie Robertson's teenagers

Last night’s episode of Duck Dynasty focused on wisdom teeth removal for John Luke and Sadie, Willie and Korie Robertson’s teenagers

Si Robertson was absent from much of last night’s show, away on a Virginia trip to see his grandchild’s birth. Uncle Si departed in the first minute or two, with one of the truest Si-isms to date: “A man can never have too many snacks.”

Korie and Willie Robertson’s son John Luke, under the influence of gas in the dentist’s chair, appeared to be a fill-in for Si Robertson this week. He discussed his “eagle powers,” suggested “hungry fella” to his mother, repeatedly sang the praises of “Bumble Bee tuna,” thought something fit “like a glove” and wondered: “Where’s the Chapstik?”

Regardless, much of this week’s show focused on the efforts of Jase and Jep Robertson, with their father Phil driving the truck, to find some place to dispose of the garbage. In order, they considered their church’s dumpster, where they didn’t have permission; a Mexican restaurant’s dumpster, where an employee shouting “muerto” (dead) chased them off: and the community dumpster in the neighborhood of their pastor, who suggested they use the church dumpster.

The rest of the show focused on wisdom teeth removal for John Luke and Sadie, Willie and Korie Robertson’s teenagers. The blood and pulled teeth had Willie Robertson nearly fainting.

Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson said the secret to his family’s success is keeping priorities in line regarding faith, family and in their case, ducks, Sunday morning at Odessa’s Crossroads Fellowship.

“We don’t measure success by how much money we have,” Willie Robertson said.

“We judge our success really through our family…we measure success by having the platform now of being able to go all over the country and talk about things that are important to us.”

Willie Robertson spoke to more than 5,000 people during three services Sunday, Crossroads Fellowship Lead Pastor Griffin Jones said.

“You might think it’s weird for a church to host one of the stars of a backwoods reality show,” Griffin Jones said.

“But we’re thrilled to do that because you probably know <<Duck Dynasty>> is the most watched show on cable of all time. It’s a cultural phenomenon now.”

Willie Robertson said one of the main reasons the show is so popular is because it appeals to all ages and lacks profanity, making it parent-approved.

“You guys who watch it and support it are so important to the show,” he said.

“It’s not to make us famous or richer than we are, it’s to make a difference in the entertainment we watch and the kind of entertainment our children are watching. Isn’t it nice to be able to sit down and watch a show with the whole family and not have to worry?”

At a makeshift court in the company warehouse, Si Robertson failed to make a single basket, despite using a trick shot called “the crane.”

Employee Justin Martin, meanwhile, was bonked by a basketball in a sensitive area and had to take a few minutes to recover. And despite having a new pair of shoes that looked like a cross between vintage Air Jordans and a pair of pogo sticks, Jep Robertson could not manage to sink a single shot.

“These shoes are for training, not for actual dunking in,” Jep Robertson explained after his humiliating display.

But the boys had bigger problems than their basketball skills: They discovered that the warehouse was infested with termites.

Wasting no time, the Robertsons called an exterminator, who promptly covered the entire Duck Commander warehouse with an enormous red and yellow striped tent.

“All of this for some little termites?” asked Jase Robertson.

“I ain’t takin’ no chances,” explained Willie Robertson.

“Anything living or crawling in there, I want to kill. Kill ‘em all.”

Since the boys were unable to work in the warehouse while the exterminator fogged the building, Willie Robertson sent the crew off to John Godwin’s house to work.

Not wanting to miss an opportunity to show off her “successful, good-looking, charming” son, Miss Kay instructs Willie Robertson to take the afternoon off so that he speak at her social club, the Golden ‘60s.

“When you’re the CEO, people look up to you,” Willie Robertson explained.

Duck Dynasty airs Wednesday nights on A&E

“They want to know the secrets to you your success.”

Dressed in a sharp white jacket, Willie arrived at the social club where he met his mother and half a dozen senior ladies.

Looking very uncomfortable, Willie asked Miss Kay if he should begin speaking to the group. Instead, he is ordered to “go get the lunch.”

“Go get the what?” asked Willie, confused.

“I’m not going to get the lunch. I’m speaking.”

Meanwhile, the Duck Commander crew were busy eating popsicles at John Godwin’s house – and occasionally assembling duck calls.

“Let me tell you about my crew,” explained Jase Robertson.

“We will work anywhere, anytime. But we are at our best when we have snacks and air conditioning, and no Willie.”

After finishing their popsicles, Uncle Si Robertson unwraps a package with John Godwin’s “inheritance” from his Uncle Ruben, a stuffed jackalope, which is allegedly “part rabbit and part deer.”

“Godwin, I’m telling you that’s worth some money,” Uncle Si said of the dead creature.

“Let’s go find us a taxidermist,” declared Jase Robertson.

With that, the boys head out to McGough’s Taxidermy get the furry figure appraised.

The dead animal emporium failed to impress Jase Robertson.

“Who gets excited about a building filled with stuffed animals?” he asked rhetorically.

“I certainly don’t. Animals should be eaten, not stuffed. The only animal I stuff is a turkey on Thanksgiving, sometimes Christmas.”

Sadly, John Godwin’s jackalope was appraised at only $50.

Eventually, John Godwin decided to keep his animal as-is and name him “Benjamin Bunny.”

In the latest episode of Duck Dynasty, Jase Robertson and his wife Missy are renovating their kitchen, so their own house is temporarily uninhabitable and have to move to his brother Willie’s home.

“I got no electricity, I got no water, I got no food,” complained Jase Robertson.

His sister-in-law Korie Robertson graciously offered her hospitality to Jase and his family – which didn’t leave Willie particularly thrilled.

“Hey, y’all remember that time I said I was excited to have Jase over?” Willie Robertson asked rhetorically.

“Yeah. Me, neither.”

After a long day at work, Willie Robertson comes home to find his kids and niece building a fort in his living room.

“That’s not a fort – that’s a teepee,” Willie Robertson groused to Missy.

“A fort is like a square structure. I used to build them. There’s a big difference in a fort and a teepee.”

Despite Willie Robertson’s initial bad mood, he tried to remain optimistic about spending some quality time with brother.

“I know I tend to complain a lot about Jase, but the kids seem to be enjoying each other,” Willie Robertson reasoned.

“It’s one weekend with him. How bad can it be?”

Willie Robertson discovered his brother Jase sitting in his favorite chair, watching the end of a game that Willie had recorded to watch later. To make matters worse, Willie Robertson sat down on a mysteriously damp cushion.

“So far, I’ve been living with Jase and his kids for a total of five minutes and already the house looks like crap,” Willie Robertson complained.

“The game is ruined and my butt is wet.”

The weekend went downhill from there.

At 4 o’clock in the morning, Willie Robertson was awoken by Jase, who was in the kitchen, noisily frying a piece of Willie’s prized waygu steak, which cost him $100.

“That was mine,” lamented Willie Robertson.

“It’s a steak,” Jase Robertson replied casually.

“I’ll get you another one.”

“It won’t be waygu.”

He looked confused: “I don’t even know what that is.”

Jase Robertson rationalized his before-dawn meal by explaining: “When you grow up with three brothers, if you don’t eat early–you don’t eat.”

Eating was definitely on Jase Robertson weekend agenda. The next day, he was cleaning a cooler filled with slimy fish in Willie’s gourmet kitchen. Willie returned from the supermarket to discover his brother with a sharp knife in one hand and a bloody fish in the other.

“What are you doing,” Willie Robertson asked his brother Jase.

“The whole house stinks.”

Willie looked past the mess of fish guts to his sink: “What is that? What’s in the sink? It looks like a beaver, but I know it’s not a beaver.”

“It’s a beaver,” confirmed Jase.

“That’s what’s stinkin”

“Are we going to eat the beaver?” Jase Robertson’s daughter Mia asked innocently.

The bloody, dead beaver sitting in the sink wasn’t the worst of it. Korie Robertson, not particularly happy to come home to find that her kitchen had been turned into a rodent butchery, almost lost her patience when her daughter, Sadie, discovered a crawfish scurrying across the floor.

“How did the crawfish get in the house,” Korie Robertson asked Jase cooly.

“Look, I got some crawfish in the tub – I’m purgin’ ‘em,” Jase explained.

It turned out that Jase Robertson was purging about 100 lbs of crawfish in Willie and Korie’s jacuzzi tub in their master bathroom.

“I’m sick of this, I’m sick of beaver, I’m sick of all of it – he is gone,” Willie Robertson vowed.

Meanwhile, Uncle Si Robertson had been busy making “gentlemen’s bets” of one dollar with everyone at the Duck Commander warehouse. Si Robertson lost in every wager imaginable, including a wooden woodpecker chase, pitching baseballs at a pyramid of red Solo cups, hitting baseballs at the local batting cage and an aborted attempt at Indian leg wrestling.

To make up for his loses, Uncle Si had a plan. His brother Phil Robertson needed to remove a fishing boat that had been stuck in a tree since Hurricane Gustav in 2008.

“This is the bet I have been waiting for,” said Si Robertson.

“It’s not Indian leg wrestling, but hey–it’s a sure thing.”

Using some self-professed “redneck” ingenuity, Si Robertson managed to get the boat out of the tree with some help from the Duck Commander crew and win $1 from Phil.

“It was the best dollar I ever spent,” declared Phil Robertson.

Back at Willie and Korie Robertson’s house, Jase redeemed himself by preparing a crawfish feast for the entire clan.

“No matter what happens, there’s nothing better than spending time with your family,” Willie Robertson reflected.

“Except being able to go home afterwards – to your OWN home.”

Duck Dynasty’s bearded faces are everywhere since the A&E reality hit has turned into mega-million Robertson mania.

The Robertsons feature from best-sellers to beach towels, T-shirts to iced tea glasses, beer koozies to bobbleheads.

Duck Dynasty follows patriarch Phil Robertson and his family, who have made millions with their duck call and decoy manufacturing “dynasty,” Duck Commander, in West Monroe.

The show, which is in its fourth season, is a ratings hit, with a record 11.8 million viewers last week, thanks to its colorful characters, down-home humor and family values. Son Willie Robertson is so popular he’s been asked to run for Congress, matriarch Miss Kay Robertson has her own cookbook, Miss Kay’s Duck Commander Kitchen; and granddaughter Sadie Robertson is helping design her own line of prom dresses for 2014, the Sadie Robertson Live Original collection.

Back-to-school time has added another layer of merchandise, including notebooks, backpacks and calendars. Meanwhile, fall landscapes can now feature garden gnomes in mini-versions of Willie and Si Robertson.

Si Robertson, who hasn’t met an English word he couldn’t entertainingly butcher, has released his book, Si-cology 1: Tales and Wisdom from Duck Dynasty’s Favorite Uncle, on September 3. Uncle Si has some selling to do if he expects to catch up to brother Phil Robertson’s Happy, Happy, Happy: My Life and Legacy as the Duck Commander and The Duck Commander Family by Willie Robertson and his wife, Korie. These books have been on The New York Times’ best-seller book list for 14 and 19 weeks, respectively.

The variety of Duck Dynasty-related items doesn’t stop here, however. There are license plates, hats, wall signs, window decals, air fresheners, action figures, pajamas, run shoes, dog treats, waders, welcome mats, marshmallow guns, bandages and a board game, the Duck Dynasty Redneck Wisdom Family Party Game. There’s even a Chia Willie.

And the usually camouflaged-wearing Robertsons are still cranking out duck calls and decoys.

All those decoys, all that merchandise, all those books have put estimates of the family’s worth at more than $80 million.

When asked in December 2012 about the show and his family’s popularity, son Alan Robertson told The Advocate: “A couple of things I think really caught the attention of the country. I think it’s a very family-oriented, positive message opposed to a negative message, which, unfortunately, a lot of reality shows are based on people fighting, and not getting along, a lot of bleeping out and stuff like that, and it’s totally different, and I think that’s one of the things.”

“And of course, our faith is a part of it as well, since they close every episode with a prayer. Our family motto has always been <<God, Family and Ducks>>. I think that really resonates culturally, where the country is. The other thing that’s just nuts and bolts, is that the show is just really funny. It’s authentic.”

Alan Robertson and his wife Lisa have joined Duck Dynasty show on Season 4 for the first time. The eldest of the Phil and Kay Robertson’s four sons, Alan’s a minister, and, unlike his brothers, is clean-shaven. Rounding out the main cast of characters are his other brothers, Jase and Jep, and their wives, Missy and Jessica.

Speaking of the Duck Dynasty’s beards, there is an app for that. Go to appfinder.lisisoft.com/app/duck-dynasty-beard-booth.html on your smartphone and see what you or others would look like with lots of facial hair.

This week’s episode of Duck Dynasty was all about helping each other out.

“One of the many perks of being in the Robertson clan is that if you need help–all you gotta do is ask for it,” Jase Robertson explained of his brothers, Uncle Si and coworker John Godwin pitching in to assist in building a new fishing dock.

“It’s a great system, but like any other system – there can be people who will abuse it.”

Jase Robertson was not-so-subtly referring to Uncle Si, who preferred to “supervise” the boys from dry land during the dock installation – all while sipping on his ever-present sweet tea.

“What’s the point of having family and friends if you can’t ask them for help every once in a while?” asked Si Robertson, somewhat rhetorically.

“You’re always asking for favors, but you never help out with any favors,” groused Willie Robertson.

“I never ask for no favors,” declared John Godwin.

“Yes, you have,” protested Willie Robertson.

“I absolutely never ask for a favor,” returned John Godwin.

Back at Duck Commander Headquarters, John Godwin made a random announcement: “I’m gonna get me a hot tub.”

“A hot tub,” Jase Robertson said, with obvious disgust.

“No self-respecting man would have a hot tub.”

“I would,” said his brother Willie with a slight smile.

“That’s my point,” returned Jase Robertson.

“The man wants a hot tub, he should get a hot tub,” reasoned Willie Robertson.

Since it was clear that John Godwin had his heart set on a hot tub, Willie Robertson fired up his laptop and started to search for one online.

“There’s some cool ones – about six grand,” Willie Robertson tells John Godwin.

“What’s your budget?”

This week's episode of Duck Dynasty was all about helping each other out

This week’s episode of Duck Dynasty was all about helping each other out

“All’s I can spend is two hundred bucks,” said John Godwin, flatly.

With such a limited budget, Willie Robertson suggested that John Godwin purchase a used hot tub. John Godwin was fine with that, as long as it had speakers.

One of the Robertson brothers did not approve of John Godwin getting any kind of hot tub – with or without speakers.

“I just want to say something on the record,” said Jase Robertson.

“I am in protest of this. This whole thing is a bad idea. You’re going to get the measles from it. Blisters, skin rashes or hepatitis.”

“When it comes to germs, Jase is a walking contradiction,” noted Willie Robertson.

“He has no problem crawling through swamps and other disgusting, stagnant bodies of water. But just the mention of a manmade place with clean, animal-free water is enough to send him on a rant for a week.”

After much discussion, Si Robertson suggested that only place that might have a hot tub within John Godwin’s budget would be a place called Squirrel’s–yes, Squirrel’s–Junkyard.

“That’s actually not a bad idea, because all he has is crap,” laughed Willie Robertson.

Meanwhile, Phil and Miss Kay Robertson have a few of the grandkids over for the afternoon, who arrive to the Robertson property “fresh from the subdivision.”

Phil Robertson is determined to teach his grandchildren “patience and resourcefulness” by gathering mayhaw berries and turning them into jelly.

“Food,” lectured Phil Robertson.

“What if everything goes south, there are no chicken nuggets, there’s no big, tall Coca-Colas and fries – what then?”

“We would survive like the walking dead,” answered Willie Robertson’s grandson, John Luke.

That did not satisfy Phil Robertson, and he set out to teach the kids the finer points of mayhaw harvesting.

Back at Squirrel’s Junkyard, the boys have found a budget-appropriate – if disgusting – hot tub for John Godwin. They tow it back to John Godwin’s house, where he insisted that it be installed in the front yard so that he can “watch the cars go by.”

“What are you, a dog?” asked Willie Robertson.

John Godwin stands firm, determined that they install the hot tub in the front yard. The boys struggle to unload the hot tub off the truck, and it crashes to the ground with a thud.

“This board broke,” said John Godwin.

“That’s just cosmetic,” reassured Willie Robertson.

“That’s right,” conceded John Godwin.

“I’ll get the wood glue.”

After the “cosmetic” damage is fixed, John Godwin climbs into the hot tub.

“In all the years I’ve known Godwin, I’ve never seen him this happy,” observed Willie Robertson.

“He’s happier than a pig in mud – which is actually a fitting comparison when you consider how disgusting that water probably is.”

At the family dinner, the Robertsons gave thanks, and Willie Robertson noted: “Sometimes doing a favor a friend can be quick and easy, other times it means you’ll be spending all day at a stinkin’ junkyard. The point is, you can’t pick and choose how you help somebody. You just help them because they’ve been there to help you.”

Sarah Palin revealed she loves the Duck Dynasty fever sweeping America, suggesting that Republicans turn to the famous family to find their way through the political wilderness.

“[I]t’s time our politicians wake up and hear some Duck calls from far outside the beltway,” the former Alaska governor explained on Facebook, praising the show’s record ratings on cable.

“The self-made, hugely successful businessmen (and women) of Duck Dynasty made history this week with the ‘most watched non-fiction series’ in TV history.”

Sarah Palin also praised a video showing Phil Robertson delivering a speech against abortion rights that has gone viral on the internet.

“To our GOP leaders in Washington, especially – this is what Americans desire and deserve; we’re not rooting for your social truces. As Phil so rightly asks, <<What in the world has happened to us?>>” she added.

Sarah Palin posted a photo of herself and her husband Todd with Willie Robertson at the 2013 NRA convention.

“Kudos to these Duck dudes for speaking their minds, and for their boldness in living the American dream of LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness – reminding us all that it’s only with freedom that anything is possible,” Sarah Palin concluded.

A recent Louisiana poll shows that 41% of the state’s voters don’t think Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson should run for Congress, a week after news emerged that party officials were trying to woo him into the race.

Moreover, Louisianans ranked Willie Robertson’s Uncle Si as their most favorite family member.

The poll conducted by Conservative Intelligence Briefing mainly included questions about state politicians Bobby Jindal, David Vitter and Mary Landrieu.

But the company inquired if voters would actually consider Willie Robertson, 41, for the open seat left by retiring Rep. Rodney Alexander.

It appears they would not.

Even more surprising though is that Willie Robertson, the self-described “Boss Hog” of the West Monroe clan, isn’t even the show favorite.

Willie Robertson lost out to his tea-drinking Uncle Si.

Twenty five percent of responders listed Uncle Si as the most lovable Robertson while only 24% rooted for Willie.

Though the Washington Examiner floated Willie Robertson as a possible candidate, the CEO of Duck Commander told Fox News he was pretty busy managing his business and starring in his family’s hit show.

Duck Dynasty Season 4 premiere on A&E TV attracted a mind-blowing 11.8 million viewers last week – a record for the cable network.

Meghan Cook, a Pennsylvania camouflage-clad bride, and her groom, Charlie Miller, got a little advice from a bewhiskered witness on their wedding day: Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson.

WTAE-TV reports Willie Robertson told the couple to always love and forgive one another as they were wed Saturday morning at a Field & Stream store near Pittsburgh.

Willie Robertson popped in for the nuptials of Mehgan Cook, who sported a camouflage sash on her dress, and Charlie Miller, who was completely clad in camo gear.

The two hadn’t planned on marrying at the store but Mehgan Cook said they were eager to meet Willie Robertson.

“I was going to cancel the wedding ’cause I heard Willie was coming,” Mehgan Cook told KDKA-TV.

Instead, Mehgan Cook said, her mother came up with the idea of a wedding at the store – and they got a surprise when Willie Robertson appeared during the ceremony.

“That’s a first for me, it’s good to be a part of that,” Willie Robertson said.

“They look like my kind of folks with the camouflage. That was cool.”

On the Duck Dynasty Season 4 premiere, which aired last week, family members threw a surprise wedding for patriarch Phil Robertson, wearing a black jacket over camouflage garb, and his wife, Miss Kay. They could only afford a justice of the peace when they married 48 years ago.

The show drew 11.8 million viewers on the A&E channel, making it the No. 1 non-fiction series telecast in U.S. cable television history in total viewers as well as all key demographic groups.

Mehgan Cook said she had been engaged to another man, but he died in a car crash four years ago. But she met Charlie Miller at the scene and eventually the two started dating.

“I never thought it would happen again,” Mehgan Cook said, tearing up.

Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson revealed he does not have any plans to run for Congress from Louisiana.

While promoting Duck Dynasty Season 4 on Fox News’ The Five, Willie Robertson was asked to weigh in on reports that he might run to replace Republican Rep. Rodney Alexander, who is set to resign in September to join the cabinet of Gov. Bobby Jindal.

“I heard I was doing that,” Willie Robertson said regarding the Twitter buzz his own political leanings have sparked, but “that’s news to me.”

“I’m kinda busy right now,” he added.

“I gotta lot of stuff going on.”

Duck Dynasty remains one of the most popular shows on cable and in recent months, WillieRobertson has taken to the road, hitting up the Christian lecture circuit with the likes of megachurch pastor Rick Warren, conservative New England Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow and the ever-present former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Willie Robertson, who has referred to his Christian faith, values and support of Second Amendment rights on his show, is said to have been wooed by some top GOP leaders for a run for Congress.

Dismissing the suggestions that he should make an entrance into politics, Willie Robertson instead offered his endorsement when asked whom he “liked for 2016 on the Republican side.” He picked Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.

“I’m curious to know about Jindal,” Willie Robertson said.

“That’s my guy.”

Duck Dynasty stars Willie and Korie Robertson have five children: John Luke, Will, Rebecca, Sadie and Bella.

Willie and Korie Robertson have three biological children: John Luke, Sadie and Bella.

This is no surprise as they look almost identical, especially John Luke and Sadie.

Willie and Korie Robertson have three biological children and two adopted

Willie and Korie Robertson have three biological children and two adopted

However, their other two adopted children, Rebecca and Will, were less known publicly, even though one has been on their show Duck Dynasty.

The oldest of the kids and also newest member of the Robertson family is Rebecca. She is a foreign exchange student from Taiwan who came to stay with the Robertsons and the family fell in love. Eventually Willie and Korie Robertson became Rebecca’s foster parents. Rebecca hasn’t been shown on the show yet.

John Luke Robertson is the oldest boy in the family and has seen the most air time of the children on the show. He frequently hunts with the guys and gets dating advice from Uncle Si.

Sadie Robertson has also appeared several times with memorable scenes of her learning to drive and picking out dresses for a dance.

Will was the first adopted child to the family and has been with the Robertsons since birth. He has been seen on the show, but haven’t heard too much about him or his background yet.

A month after deciding to adopt Will, Korie Robertson found out she was pregnant with Bella, so it was a very eventful time for the family. Bella has been on a show in a few shots with all of the granddaughters about Phil and Miss Kay Robertson.

This comes as no surprise to people who watch the show and can tell that the Robertson family really has big hearts and great values. Even though, they argue like all brothers do on the show, you can tell that Phil and Miss Kay Robertson have raised great morals and values into their children and family.
