Jeb Bush has launched his bid to become the Republican nominee for president.
In a video released hours ahead of his official launch in Miami, the former Florida governor has pledged to fix America.
Jeb Bush, 62, declared: “I’m ready to lead.”
The brother of ex-President George W. Bush and son of ex-President George H.W. Bush also promised to protect America’s most vulnerable and remove the barriers to social mobility.
However, doubts persist among conservatives in his party.
Early polling suggests that Jeb Bush has yet to dominate a wide field of Republican candidates.
In his latest video, entitled The Greatest Century, Jeb Bush strikes a very optimistic note, saying: “I see a great country on the verge of its greatest century, and I’m ready to lead.”
Although his campaign becomes official on June 15, it’s been no secret for many months and his team is well on the way to raising a $100 million war chest.
During a tour of Europe last week, Jeb Bush warned he would not waver from his core beliefs, even if some are unpopular in his party.
He said: “I’m not going to change who I am.
“I respect people who may not agree with me, but I’m not going to change my views because today someone has a view that’s different.”
In a separate video, called Making A Difference, Jeb Bush champions the rights of women, ethnic minorities and the disabled.
He says: “My core beliefs start with the premise that the most vulnerable in our society should be in the front of the line and not the back.
“What we need is new leadership that takes conservative principles and applies them so that people can rise up.”
Jeb Bush becomes the 11th Republican to declare, with Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Florida Senator Marco Rubio among his biggest rivals.

Public anger over that deal is said to have contributed to a 2011 vote ousting the former Miami-Dade County mayor from office.
Beckham Miami United has agreed to finance a $250 million stadium – expected to seat an estimated 20,000 spectators – and pay rent on the publicly owned land.

With their hair flying around, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are seen engaging in what can only be described as a cat fight.
The trailer promises more of the winning formula which has made the sisters such a hit with fans – with scenes featuring Kim and Kourtney Kardashian sunning themselves in bikinis, Khloe in the bath with husband Lamar Odom, and of course an explosive fight.
The trailer also shows the reality stars water skiing and drinking with pals.

Filming on the series has now wrapped, with the sisters heading back to Los Angeles for Christmas.
Kim Kardashian tweeted: “I am so glad to be home for the holidays!!
“I loved spending time in Miami but LA is my home and I am really looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.”
And she promised: “Our time in Miami has come to an end and I can’t wait to show you all what we got up to while we were down in Miami when the show premiers in January.”
Luckily for fans they don’t have long to wait – the new show is set to air on the U.S. in early January.
Meanwhile Kourtney Kardashian has been sharing her plans for the holidays.
She attends a huge family Christmas party thrown by her mother Kris Jenner every year, but she is keen to start her own traditions with boyfriend Scott Disick and their children Mason, three, and Penelope, five months, away from her wider family.
She said: “I think it’s important to continue some of the family traditions, like the Christmas party, but to make it my own with Scott and the kids as well.
“Last Christmas Eve, we all had our own friends over and decorated gingerbread men, I want to do that again this year.”
However, Kourtney Kardashian, 33, will still be heading to Kris Jenner’s party because of all the tasty treats which will be on offer.
She added: “At my mum’s party, she has so many different things to try. I eat a little bit of everything, but not so much that I feel guilty. Everything in moderation.”
When Kim Kardashian plotted a move to Miami it seemed a given that she’d be settling into the exclusive South Beach area of the city.
But Kim Kardashian and her sisters have instead been forced to find a home in the unfashionable area of North Beach, after residents blocked their application to move to South Beach.
When the sisters tried to rent beach homes on Sunset Islands, De Lido Islands and on North Beach Road, their efforts were blocked by neighbors, Radaronline.com is reporting.
A local rule meant the Kardashians needed to get signatures from neighbors living within 500 feet of the three homes they wished to lease with a 90% approval rate.
South Beach residents refused to bend to Kardashian sisters’ wishes, undoubtedly fearing their placid streets being overrun by television crews and photographers and turning into a virtual circus.
So, while they are filming their show in South Beach, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe have had to settle for a 51,000-square-foot property within a gated community in North Miami Beach, which is nearly 14 miles away from their filming locations.
“The area is known for its hourly hotels, strip clubs and high crime rate,” a source told Radaronline.com.
“It’s a far-cry from their usual posh digs, with just a 7-Eleven and an abandoned old bank close by.”

Miami Police are not sure whether the father, who has not been named, fell from a ladder or died as a result of bee stings after he was found in the upstairs bedroom of the home.
The woman said her father was renovating the house – which had been in the family since 1924 – so that she could move in.
When he couldn’t be reached his daughter went to the home and found his body.
“We’re not sure if he fell, had a medical condition or if it was bee stings,” Miami Fire Rescue Lt. Ignatius Carroll told Local 10.com.
“But you can imagine how devastating this was for her to find him.”

Willie Sklaroff, who runs a bee eradication company, said at least 60,000 bees were living in the walls of the home and were disturbed during the renovation process.
Willie Sklaroff said: “He probably opened up the hole and was gonna fog it and what happened is that the bees probably came out, scared him and he fell off the chair.“
He said he will return at another time to remove all of the bees.
Willie Sklaroff said by the sounds and the number of holes in the wall there are probably more than 60,000 there.
Neighbours described the victim as a “really nice person and a kind soul”.
Marc Anthony seemed to crack under the emotion when he ended up weeping live on stage in Miami and cried when his fans sang him happy birthday.
Marc Anthony, who turned 43 on September 16, soon composed himself, and gave a trademark blisteringly passionate performance for his fans.

Visibly touched, Marc Anthony has thanked the crowd for “all your love and support, especially this year; it means a lot to me.”
Later in the evening, his teenage daughter Ariana presented him with a three-tier, black and white birthday cake, while the crowd serenaded him once again.
Marc Anthony said: “Who in the world could say they’re spending their birthday like this? I’m a very lucky man.”
But Marc Anthony did not stop there, as around midnight he went to a private birthday party at Club 50 inside Miami’s Viceroy Hotel with around 150 close friends.

When Marc Anthony was asked what he wished for as he was blowing out the candles, he cryptically replied that he “already had his wish.”
However, Marc turned out to be a bit of a party lightweight as after telling chums he was issuing an “executive order to stay, drink as much as you can and party all night,” he slunk off to get some rest before the rest of his weekend concerts.
But before he left Marc Anthony added: “I feel like I am home, thanks for showing up. It’s mind-boggling.”
