Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez are to perform at the inauguration ceremony for President Joe Biden.
It is well-known that Lady Gaga campaigned for Joe Biden during the election, appearing with him on the eve of the presidential election last November.
Lady Gaga will sing the national anthem at the ceremony on January 20. Jennifer Lopez, who also endorsed Joe Biden last year, will give a separate musical performance.
After the ceremony, Tom Hanks will host a star-studded TV special.
Titled Celebrating America, the 90-minute prime-time program will also feature musicians Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons, and will be broadcast live by ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC.
Joe Biden’s inaugural committee said it would “celebrate the beginning of a new national journey toward an America united” and “showcase the American people’s resilience, heroism, and unified commitment to coming together as a nation to heal and rebuild”.
When Joe Biden is inaugurated, Washington DC will still be under a state of emergency after a mob stormed the Capitol on January 6. More than 10,000 National Guard troops will be in the city, with about 5,000 more on standby.
Otherwise, the ceremony’s attendance will be “extremely limited” in line with social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Biden team, which has urged Americans to avoid travelling to the capital.
Donald Trump announced last week that he will avoid the ceremony after disputing the election result, becoming the first president to skip the inauguration of his successor since 1869.
When President Donald Trump was inaugurated four years ago, 16-year-old former American Idol contestant Jackie Evancho sang the national anthem, while country stars Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood, and rock band 3 Doors Down were among the attractions at a special concert the night before.
Lady Gaga, 31, wrote: “I’m so devastated I don’t know how to describe it.
“All I know is that if I don’t do this, I am not standing by the words or meaning of my music.”
The announcement comes after the Grammy-winner started the UK leg of her tour at Birmingham Arena.
The European leg of Lady Gaga’s Joanne World Tour had already been rescheduled due to her condition and followed a decision to pull out of a performance at Rock In Rio in Brazil in September, after she was hospitalized with “severe physical pain.”
Lady Gaga was due to perform in Zurich, Cologne, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Paris and Berlin in the coming weeks.
At the end of 2017, Lady Gaga announced a two-year residency in Las Vegas, starting late in 2018.
All of us are already familiar with the life of certain celebrities who decided to skip college and commit to a career that eventually made them famous. Some of these examples are Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Lady Gaga, Al Pacino, etc. This, of course, does not mean that after reading this text you should rush to leave your university. On the contrary, these are just tips that can be helpful in whatever life cycle you currently are.
Follow your dream
You got into a certain college because that move was expected of you or you simply thought that you can find happiness in doing a certain profession. If you happen to realize that this college and future job are not for you, you can always take a step back. This is the time to clearly analyze the situation as well as your own wishes and preferences. Focus on something that fulfils you. By doing so, you can find a completely new career that would suit you the best and change colleges. In case you’re still not ready to choose and accept that you need and deserve some more time, it’s perfectly fine to dedicate yourself to a hobby and redirect your talents to whatever feels comfortable even if it doesn’t seem profitable in the beginning.
Listen to your inner voice
Be persistent even when your immediate surroundings aren’t. Nobody got rich overnight. Work hard to achieve the goal you want. This clearly defined goal can be your secret strength and power when your enthusiasm fails you or when negative thoughts such as finding no perspective in what you do occupy your mind. If you feel it right in your gut, you’ve definitely made a right choice.
Believe in yourself
Be aware of your strengths and weaknesses and use them both to your advantage. Believing in yourself doesn’t mean that you have to negate your whole personality to make room for positive traits only. Actually, if you’re aware of your weaknesses you can make an effort to overcome them and be wary of them. Also, don’t be modest with your personal virtues. Use everything you’ve got as an advantage over the competition.
Improve yourself constantly
No one is born with the entire world’s knowledge. Just because you’ve decided that sitting in the university lectures is not for you doesn’t mean that you should give up studying. Quite the opposite. Take up a course in the area of your personal interest. That way you can meet like-minded people who can help and direct you. Also, this is a much faster way to obtain a certificate which can serve as a springboard for your future career advancement.
Do not waste time on insignificant details
You must have noticed that Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg always dress the same. They decided that spending time picking clothes is only going to waste when they can use this time wisely and do something constructive at their job. If you have your own small business do both of you a favor – wear branded promotional T-shirts that you use as a promotional gift. That way you won’t have to worry about your outfit and will do some smart advertising at the same time. Be practical and don’t let little things distract you from the desired goal.
Learn to listen to your needs. If you feel constrained and stressed dare to take a step out of the comfort zone. No one knows better than you what you need at any given time. Be brave and bold. If you don’t try to move, you increase the risk of depression. Do what it takes to get up in the morning with a big smile and in good spirits. Change yourself and your environment in a positive way and be an example to others that anything is possible.

Ricky Gervais will return to host the ceremony on January 10, 2016 – his third time fronting the awards.

The scam involved Meceo McEaddy and 48-year-old Sylvester Vincent Carroll, of New Jersey, promising event producers a performance by a major recording artist, pocketing large deposits and not delivering a show after being paid.
Sylvester Vincent Carroll, who also pleaded guilty, was sentenced this month to three to nine years in prison.
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. said the two stole around $3.7 million from party planners around the world.
The scheme started in 2010 when the duo took $825,000 from a Brazilian company that believed it had booked Rihanna for concerts in Rio de Janeiro.

She performed some tracks from her recent album, ARTPOP, which has struggled to match the success of her other releases. But onstage, she showed no signs of slowing down.
The New York-born singer closed with the new single, G.U.Y., now wearing an all-white ensemble (her sixth costume change for the night).
Lady Gaga will perform six more shows at the Roseland Ballroom, helping close the famed venue that opened eight decades ago. Her final show at the Roseland Ballroom will be on April 7.

Eminem won Artist of the Year, while Taylor Swift’s I Knew You Were Trouble took the YouTube Phenomenon award.
The ceremony was streamed live online.
The inaugural YouTube awards reflect an increasing trend for people to turn to the internet, rather than television and radio, for music and video
Nominees were chosen by taking into account the YouTube views, likes, comments and subscription figures for different artists.
Indie actress Greta Gerwig kicked off proceedings at the sprawling Pier 36 venue, performing in a live video for Arcade Fire and their new song Afterlife.
Lady Gaga was up next, tears rolling down her cheeks as she performed her single Dope for the first time wearing a baseball cap and flannel shirt.
The coveted Video of the Year award went to South Korean group Girls’ Generation for their song I Got A Boy, while Innovation of the Year went to DeStorm Power, the YouTube user whose 250 videos on the website have been watched more than 200 million times.

Around 200 viewers have complained about Lady Gaga’s performance on The X Factor UK on Sunday, according to British regulator Ofcom.
The people contacted the broadcasting watchdog about Lady Gaga’s outfit of shells and flesh-colored underwear.
“We will assess all the complaints received on this issue before deciding whether to investigate,” said a spokesman.

Another 60 viewers have complained directly to ITV about Lady Gaga’s appearance, before the 9 p.m. watershed.
An ITV spokeswoman said: “We do not believe Lady Gaga’s performance was inappropriate for the family audience of the X Factor Results show, which has an established tradition of featuring performances from the biggest music stars.
“Lady Gaga is well known for her highly individual performance style.”
In 2010, The X Factor final featured Christina Aguilera in a routine which was described as being “at the very margin of acceptability” by Ofcom.
After a very public Twitter fight on Sunday, Kelly Osbourne is ready to bury the hatchet with Lady Gaga.
“@ladygaga I acted like a child last night. Just not into publicity stunts call me & we will end this like adults I don’t want 2 fight anymore,” Kelly Osbourne tweeted on October 28
Their latest feud started after Lady Gaga visited the X Factor UK set and posed with Kelly Osbourne’s mother holding a birthday cake for Kelly.
Then Kelly Osbourne took to Twitter to share her frustrations saying: “Not to be ungrateful but why would you send me a birthday cake via my MOTHER in a country half the would away? #JustSendItToME #LoveNotWar.”
She also posted a picture of the cake with the caption: “#EatMySh – #Hypocrisy.”
Kelly Osbourne is ready to bury the hatchet with Lady Gaga
The post has since been taken down.
The feud originated long before bakers got involved. In 2009, Kelly Osbourne called Lady Gaga a “butterface,” causing the iconic crooner’s band of loyal fans to launch into a series of threats against the Brit.
Lady Gaga later penned an open letter to Kelly Osbourne, criticizing her career choice saying: “Your work on E! with the <<Fashion Police>> is rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people’s beauty against one another.”
But it was Sharon Osbourne who criticized Lady Gaga’s note, saying the eccentric star was bullying her daughter.
Sharon Osbourne and Lady Gaga have made up. After Lady Gaga performed on The X Factor UK, Sharone tweeted: “Blown away by Lady Gaga’s performance and graciousness.”
For the world premiere of her new album – ARTPOP – in Berlin, Lady Gaga has so far donned a furry chicken/moldy cheese mask, bared her unicorn-tattooed thigh, dressed like a sexy Salvador Dali (moustache included), and gone barefoot in a fluffy ghost-like sheath earlier Friday morning.
Lady Gagashowed off yet another unusual fashion accessory this week as she left her hotel in Berlin where she is promoting her upcoming album ARTPOP, donning a fake Salvador Dali-style moustache.
Lady Gaga, 27, felt her facial hair needed a dramatic outfit to match, which she teamed with a black bra, knickers, suspender, fur coat and her customary platform boots.

The singer recently revealed that she would be releasing a new track from her latest LP for every country she visits during her three week promotional tour.
Announcing the exciting news, Lady Gaga tweeted this week: “I’ll be debuting a new song in every territory I travel to over the next 3 weeks! An exclusive for each country! Any guesses for Berlin?”
After deciding which track she will premiere, Lady Gaga later revealed: “2day at AMPYA ARTPOP listening party in Germany I’ll perform the world premiere of <<Gypsy>> at the piano! Stream it tonight around the world!”
Adam Levine called out Lady Gaga on Twitter for being unoriginal.
Adam Levine, 34, took to Twitter on Friday to air his grievances with the state of pop music, and slyly called out Lady Gaga for contributing to the problem.
To begin his diatribe, The Voice star and Maroon 5 frontman lamented the conventional process of recycling old ideas for new generations, and continued by explaining what he believes to be the premise of good pop music.
While it wasn’t completely clear Adam Levine was taking a shot at Lady Gaga, the 27-year-old singer felt the heat and opted to offer her own response.
If Adam Levine was going after Lady Gaga, he’ll certainly face a firestorm from her army of fans, known as the Little Monsters, some of whom have already responded.
Adam Levine called out Lady Gaga on Twitter for being unoriginal
Lady Gaga certainly tweeted a reply to one fan: “@madelinemonster thats us, changing the world. twisting the panties of one popstar at a time.”
She is not the first female pop star Adam Levine seems at odds with, more like the latest.
He’s also got an alleged beef with his Voice co-star Christina Aguilera.
Their on-screen bickering led many to believe the two disliked each other, however Christina Aguilera recently spoke out to dispel the rumor.
In an interview with Fox News, Christina Aguilera said: “We’re both very passionate, but it isn’t personal with Adam. It never has been. We’re just very strong personalities.”
Before gearing up for the new season of The Voice, Adam Levine has been going hard on social media, sharing intimate moments with his fiancée Behati Prinsloo, and reportedly joining his bandmates in the studio to work on their fifth studio album.
According to Deadline, Adam Levine also has joined forces with his pal, Community writer Gene Hong, to create a semi-autobiographical comedy about his life for NBC.
In a landmark legal case, Lady Gaga is set to redraw the rules of employment, after a ferocious spat with best friend Jennifer O’Neill, who became her personal assistant.
In testimony prepared for a forthcoming trial, Lady Gaga tells in her own words how she reigns as “Queen of the Universe every day” – and why no one should be paid overtime.
The court papers, obtained by The Mail on Sunday, show how Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, argues a 9-to-5 job may last 24 hours a day but in return, staff get to sleep between Egyptian cotton sheets, eat caviar, relax on luxury yachts and “party all night”.
Lady Gaga, 27, has submitted the expletive-filled 200-page witness statement that explains in her own words why her entourage get perks instead of cash for extra hours worked.
Lady Gaga is set to redraw the rules of employment, after a ferocious spat with personal assistant Jennifer O’Neill
The singer says: “It’s actually based on a bubbly, good heart. I am quite wonderful to everyone that works for me. I am going to tell you exactly what ******* happened, so that the judge can read on this transcript exactly what’s going on, which is my ex-best friend is a ******* hood rat who is suing me for money that she didn’t earn. The job was essentially a favor, and Jennifer was majorly unqualified for it.”
Jennifer O’Neill, 42, is claiming she worked 7,168 hours of unpaid overtime while being employed by the star for 13 months and is demanding $370,000, plus damages. She claims she was at Lady Gaga’s “beck and call”, responsible for her “grunt work” as the singer’s career took off in 2010.
Jennifer O’Neill, who was paid $1,500 a week, said she often had to share a bed with the star who hated sleeping alone, had to rub the corns on her feet and was woken up because the star could not be bothered to get up to change a DVD.
If Lady Gaga loses the case, due in court in New York on November 4, the verdict will have huge ramifications for entertainment-industry employees because, as Gaga herself says, “overtime payments are not usual in my line of work”.
A source close to the case said: “She thinks nothing of splashing out huge chunks of money on selfish things but when it comes to looking after her staff and paying a fair wage for their time, she is neglectful. It’s double standards. Her selfishness can be breathtaking at times.”
After the release of Applause, the first single from her upcoming album Artpop, Lady Gaga gave fans a sneak peek of new track Swine.
In a new video tweeted by Lady Gaga, she offered a sneak preview of snippets of brand-new track Swine.
Lady Gaga shows off her multi-tasking ability in the clip as she sings, plays the piano and slams on some electronic drums.
The video also shows off some lyrics from her song: “I know, I know, I know / I know you want me / You’re just a pig in a human’s body.”
And the energy climbs as Lady Gaga hits the next ham-fisted line – “Squealer, squealer, squeal OUT! / You’re so disgusting / You’re just a pig inside… SWINE!”
The song soon transitions into a hard rock breakdown reminiscent of a Trent Reznor B-side, and Lady Gaga looks possessed as she smashes a cymbal to the beat.
Lady Gaga gave fans a sneak peek of new track Swine
In any case, Lady Gaga seems thoroughly proud of her song, even dubbing her performance SwineFest and giving her fans a cheeky dress code.
“I will be providing a list of acceptable attire for #SwineFest throughout the week,” Lady Gaga tweeted on Wednesday.
That list apparently includes seashells, seahorses, starfish and “Botticelli-Punk accessories”, which would optimally be secured on “paint colored dreadlocks”.
She seems to love referencing the Early Renaissance painter Botticelli, even tweeting an image of his seminal painting The Birth Of Venus.
Which is fine, except the image comes with a cringe-worthy tweet: “#SomeOfUsJustLikeToRead Botticelli Punk, Seashell Girl ArtFunk!”
Lady Gaga’s new obsession apparently focuses on all things sea-related, and she even posted an animated GIF of Ariel from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
But other suggested fashion pieces for her upcoming show strayed from the nautical theme.
Lady Gaga will perform a headlining gig on Sunday at the iTunes Festival, a month-long music fest held in London, England.
“Acceptable attire for #SwineFest CONTINUED: 5: BEDAZZLED PIG NOSE 6: BOWIE MAGICIAN GARB 7: TRASHBAG or ARTCLOTHES (THERE IS A PAINT ZONE),” she wrote.
ARTCLOTHES, Lady Gaga clarified in another tweet, are “clothes you don’t mind getting covered in live art!”.
Lady Gaga strutted out of the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday looking like Morticia from the Addams Family before promptly served her fans some cool drinks.
Lady Gaga, 27, seems determined to boost the sales of her new single Applause after Katy Perry’s single Roar outsold it by nearly double this week and what better way than to call an impromptu photo call for some extra publicity.
The singer strutted out of her hotel wearing a grey and white top that sported a crackle effect, which she paired with black trousers.
In an unsurprising move for the bold singer, Lady Gaga donned a pair of mismatched heels for the appearance.
With her hair dyed black and straight and wearing pale make-up with rouge lipstick Lady Gaga made a bee-line to her army of fans waiting outside the hotel to catch a glimpse of their idol.
Lady Gaga strutted out of the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles to meet her funs
And she did not disappoint them, posing for photographs and signing autographs before hotel staff came out and served up her own brand of “Pop Water” soft drinks in the sweltering heat.
Lady Gaga also accepted some red roses from her fans and chatted patiently with them as the assembled photographers took some fun shots of the superstar alongside her Little Monsters.
Ironically, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga were not planning to release their new singles in the same week but Gaga’s single was leaked online last Saturday before its official August 19 release date.
Lady Gaga then officially released that Monday.
Roar also leaked on Saturday, though that didn’t shift Katy Perry’s August 12 release.
“Due to hackers an abundance of low/high quality leaks… We issue this pop music emergency… Monsters spread the word,” Lady Gaga tweeted on Monday.
Lady Gaga decided to release her new lyric video Applause on Wednesday.
Lady Gaga, 27, only shot the video on Monday at nightclub Micky’s in West Hollywood, California.
She rushed it out to keep up with the early release of the Applause single after it was leaked online.
Lady Gaga was both video star and creator as she held a handheld camera during the filming to provide her own scenes.
The video by Haus Of Gaga featured a series of quick cuts and opens with an image of Lady Gaga getting touched up as she wore rainbow-coloured, kabuki-like face paint.
It’s the same edgy make-up look that Lady Gaga wore on the cover of her upcoming album ARTPOP.
Lyrics to the catchy tune run along the bottom of the video as Lady Gaga gives the viewer a front-row seat at a raucous drag queen runway show.
“I stand here waiting for you to bang the gong!” she sang at the beginning of the song.
Lady Gaga released a lyric video for her new single Applause after filming it earlier this week
Lady Gaga cavorted around with others who also wore the multi-coloured face paint along with flowing white robes and black skull caps.
“I live for the applause, applause, applause,” Lady Gaga belted out as performers in the video clapped in unison.
The singer also wrapped an arm around a performer dressed up as Peter Pan.
Lady Gaga had urged her legion of fans to dress up and join her for the video shoot.
“I will definitely NOT be at Micky’s tonight, and I will definitely NOT expect you there to be in my lyric video,” Lady Gaga tweeted on Monday.
“I’M SERIOUS LA MONSTERS, ITS NOT LIKE I WILL BE HOPING YOU ARE THERE WITH YOUR APPLAUSE MAKEUP READY TO DANCE FOR ME AND WATCH DRAG.”
Lady Gaga released the Applause lyric video early after the song leaked online on Monday ahead of its scheduled release next week.
She is set to make her own big-screen debut as La Chameleon in Robert Rodriguez’s sequel Machete Kills, due out October 4.
Her fourth studio album ARTPOP is due out in November.
Lady Gaga will sing her new track Applause at the MTV Music Awards – airing live August 25 – which will be her first performance since having hip surgery in February.
Once again Lady Gaga was out to shock as she stepped out wearing almost identical face paint to what she wears on the cover of her new album ARTPOP.
With a white background splashed with several different colors, Lady Gaga, 27, cut a rather ghostly figure with the aid of her make-up.
Once again Lady Gaga was out to shock as she stepped out wearing almost identical face paint to what she wears on the cover of her new album ARTPOP
The look was further accentuated by Lady Gaga’s very dark brown hair and Gothic all-black attire consisting of a black pleated skirt, matching blouse, blazer and sky high lace-up ankle boots.
The shock tactic was for an appearance on E! as Ryan Seacrest tweeted a picture of himself with Lady Gaga, also wearing similar face paint.
Oddly strolling along sans-entourage, she was no doubt heading back to the Chateau Marmont where she was seen leaving earlier in the day.
For the cover of ARTPOP, Lady Gaga appears as a work of art in the image, taken by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, with her face painted white with splashes of color smeared around her eyes and mouth and her hair covered in a black wrap, as she emerges through a white billowing coat by designer Gareth Pugh.
