The Kardashian sisters could be left with an expensive legal bill after they were sued for allegedly stealing the name for Khroma Beauty, for which they are guaranteed to make up to $6.2 million.
Make-up artist Lee Tillett is seeking $10 million in damages from the sisters and Boldface Group Inc, which markets their line.
Lee Tillett claims it infringes on her Kroma Make-up line, which she founded back in 2004.
Florida native Lee Tillett told the Orlando Sentinel: “I developed the Kroma line myself, built my business through my own hard work, and took the legal steps necessary to protect it.
“And yet I have now been forced into legal battle with the Kardashians simply because they have decided to take something that doesn’t belong to them.”
It is the latest move in a legal tussle that began when she sent a cease and desist letter last July urging them to stop using the name.
In response Boldface petition a California federal court to get a judgement the name Kroma “consists solely of a descriptive term and lacks any inherent distinctive meaning to the relevant consuming public and therefore is conceptually weak”.
On the Kroma website it states the word means color in Greek, but adds how Lee Tillett used her 22 years (experience) of “creating looks for thousands of women” and “personally selected all of the shades and has personally made all of the formulas”.
And in her formal federal court response she claims the promotion of Khroma was likely to mislead customers into thinking her line is associated with the Kardashian sisters.
She added: “The false association is damaging … and threatens to destroy its business.”

According to the counter-claims, Boldface has paid the Kardashians an upfront advance of $1 million for licensing rights, with guaranteed minimum royalty payments of $4.6 million to $5.2 million, depending on launch dates of various products.
As part of the deal, they allegedly have some power over the product line and that Kim Kardashian “proposed” it be called Khroma.
Lee Tillett’s attorney Elliot Gipson claims the 32-year-old should have known better.
He pointed to discussions by representatives for himself and TLK Fusion, which allegedly acted as Kardashian’s product-placement agent for a show that was being produced by Kim.
He said: “On or about May 2010, representatives for Tillett and TLK Fusion were engaged in discussions regarding the possible product placement of the KROMA cosmetics line on the television reality show special The SPINdustry that was scheduled to air on E! Entertainment Television following an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
No deal was ever reached, but if this is true she could have advance knowledge the name was already in use.
Kardashians spokesman Todd Wilson claims the sisters “have acted properly at all times”.
This is not the only lawsuit the product line is engulfed in at the moment.
Los Angeles-based Chroma Makeup Studio is also suing for alleged trademark infringement.

The news website reports the soon to be parents are now the proud owners of a 10,000-square-foot home in a private gated community in California’s exclusive Bel Air suburb.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will join A-list neighbor Jennifer Aniston, Los Angeles Clippers basketball player Chris Paul, and founder of the Girls Gone Wild entertainment franchise Joe Francis as the famous names in the neighborhood.
Kanye West, 35, is well known for his love of interior design and will no doubt be keen to put his stamp on their first home together.

The website report that the couple have already gutted the interior and are planning to add an extra 4,000 feet to complete their dream home.

The reality star recently left the Florida city after completing filming her reality show, but returned over the weekend for a bikini photoshoot on the beach.

A source close to Kim Kardashian told gossip website TMZ.com that she and Kanye West have been flooded with lucrative offers for their child’s first pictures and were offered $3 million from one publication outside the US.
Kim Kardashian has already been offered $250,000 to host a pregnancy website after being approached by David Dginguerian, an Armenian filmmaker, about working with a planned membership-only website called MyPregnancy.com.
It is unclear if Kim Kardashian will sign up as it was recently revealed that she and Kanye West are reportedly planning to share the pregnancy and their adjustment to parenthood with their fans through a show on E!.

Next on the travel agenda for Kim Kardashian is a trip to the volatile Ivory Coast city of Abidjan for a series of paid events.
“I will be in Abidjan on Jan 19 for two special events. Get your #malife card now!” the she posted on Sunday.
She has been tweeting quite a bit about the trip in the past week, especially regarding the news that 61 people were killed in a stampede in the streets after a New Year’s fireworks celebration.
Kim Kardashian wrote: “Reading about the terrible tragedy in Abidjan. So sad! I’m heading there in a few weeks… my prayers are with you all! #drameplateau.”
The expectant mother should also be careful of a travel advisory issued by the U.S. government, which warns visitors to the Ivory Coast of the dangers of high crime in the area.
According to the advisory, which was posted on the Department of State’s website in November, cautions that “crimes, such as muggings, robbery, burglary, and carjacking, pose risks for foreign visitors in Abidjan and around the country”.
“You should take precautions when stopped in heavy traffic or at road blocks due to the threat of assault and/or robbery, and avoid travel outside Abidjan after dark to minimize risk,” the advisory continues.

Despite calling Kim Kardashian “one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet”, Nick Cannon explained that he couldn’t forgive her for denying the tape existed.
Nick Cannon, now happily married to Mariah Carey, briefly dated Kim Kardashian from September 2006 to January 2007.
Speaking on The Howard Stern Show last week he explained: “This was my issue. We talked about this tape…And she told me there was no tape.
“If she might have been honest with me I might have tried to hold her down and be like <<That was before me>> because she is a great girl.
“She’s actually one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. But the fact that she lied and told me that there was no tape?”

It was particularly galling for Paris Hilton, as a similar film featuring her had been leaked in 2003, briefly making her one of the world’s most notorious celebrities.
While Kim Kardashian has always claimed she was “devastated” by the release of the tape, it certainly made her a star.
It has even been alleged her mother Kris Jenner brokered the deal, with Kim Kardashian receiving a hefty advance worth between $250,000 and $500,000.

“I had fallen SO in love with Mercy that I wanted to try everything I could to keep her, but I didn’t think it was safe to resort to injections,” Kim Kardashian told her 16.7 million followers Friday.
On October 16, Kim Kardashian passed along the responsibility of the furry feline to her sister Khloe’s assistant Sydney Hitchcock, who had lost her own cat after 17 years.
Kim Kardashian continued: “After a couple of weeks Mercy got really sick and Sydney had to rush her to the vet. They discovered she had a stomach problem that we weren’t aware of. Poor little Mercy died the very next day.”
According to E! News, Sydney Hitchcock got a call from her boyfriend saying the feline was “limp and not moving” on November 26, and the next day they had Mercy euthanized.
Unfortunately, the fatal, cancer-like virus attacked Mercy’s tiny stomach and Kim Kardashian was reportedly quick to point the finger at the breeder.

The search term “election” topped the list of searches, led not only by extensive media coverage but also widening conversation on online social media platforms.
The term “political polls” was No. 8 of the top 10 searches of the year.
“The 2012 elections dominated the online searches, which is amazing because if something is in the news, it’s already accessible … people were really saturated by it, but even so, that was a key word that people typed throughout the year,” Vera Chan, Yahoo’s web trend analyst, said in a conference call.
Vera Chan said only two other news stories have topped the list in the past decade, those being the death of Michael Jackson in 2009 and the BP oil spill in 2010.
“iPhone 5” came in at No. 2, which Vera Chan said was interesting “in a post-Steve Jobs era” because while Apple Inc’s iPhone has featured regularly in the top searches since the first generation emerged in 2007, this was the first time a specific model had appeared high on the list.

Indeed technology saw a high water mark this year with the launch of the Kindle Fire HD and the mammoth but ultimately disastrous Facebook IPO coming in at numbers nine and ten respectively on the news story list.

Kendall Jenner is clearly proud of her achievement, tweeting a link to the magazine’s website, and re-tweeting a post from the shoot’s photographer Russell James, who wrote: “Congrats @KendallJenner on your Ms VOGUE cover. Rare few models make it Vogue ever-especially by age 17!”

Kim Kardashian and her famous sisters recently launched the Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins in London, and reportedly send the Duchess of Cambridge a load of free clothing, only to get them send straight back.
According to The Examiner, Kate Middleton politely declined to accept any of the free clothing received from Kim Kardashian.
The Kardashian Kollection features a lot of figure-hugging silhouettes, with leopard print and studs – not exactly appropriate for a member of the Royal family.
A palace insider told the magazine: “Kate is hardly going to turn up for an event with the queen in a cheap leopard-print miniskirt or gold sequined jacket.”
The source also said Kim Kardashian invited Kate Middleton over for tea, in an attempt to get a new royal best friend out of her recent trip to London. But once again, the Duchess politely declined the offer.
And another insider explained to the Daily Star earlier this week why Kim Kardashian is so keen on getting closer to Kate Middleton.

Two hours later, it seems the reality TV duo weren’t any closer to getting active.

As Kim Kardashian’s pal Jonathan Cheban can be seen in the background, she wrote alongside the photo: “Stop trying to photobomb @jonathancheban.”
