The 36-year-old star told fans on a live video web chat: “I had a complete emotional breakdown in the shower and Brad found me crying.
“I felt this huge responsibility and I felt very small and, who am I to take this on?”
Angelina Jolie added: “I had a complete meltdown.”
The actress took on the daunting project of writing and directing the love story, which is set in the Bosnian war.

Angelina Jolie said: “I didn’t plan to become a director, and I still have trouble saying I’m a director.
“I just wanted to tell this story and I ended up by default being the director.
“It was a pleasure but I wonder if it would be a pleasure with another cast and crew, and a subject matter that wasn’t so special.”
Angelina Jolie was captivated by hearing heart-wrenching stories of people’s experiences living through the Bosnian war, but says at the time it happened, when she was aged 17, she was unaware of its seriousness.
The actress said: “I knew very little, like most Americans.
“I was 17 so I wasn’t very focussed. I was my own form of self-destructive, and it was a bad time.”
Angelina Jolie later came back to the subject and added: “I was a punk… you don’t imagine you could ever be a role model.”
She has clearly proven her directorial ability as the movie, which is released in Europe in February, has been nominated for an award at the Golden Globes.
The subject matter, which is close to her heart, has helped her to realize the importance of teaching her children certain values.
When asked by a fan what lessons she wished to pass onto her children, Angelina Jolie said “compassion and respect”.
She said: “I want my children to be aware of the world around them and have respect for all people around the world.”
Angelina Jolie added: “From the nature of the make-up of my family, they learn a lot abot each other. They dont see this divide which is dangerous.”

Michelle Williams, who was on hand to accept the Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award, said her thoughts were on Marilyn Monroe, whom she plays in “My Week With Marilyn” and who, unlike Williams, struggled to be taken seriously as an actress.
“My only wish is that Marilyn herself could have experienced in her lifetime what I am experiencing tonight,” Michelle Williams said.
“When she did stretch beyond her pin-up picture, she was pushed back into her place. I accept this award on both our behalf.”

“Brad Pitt has constantly made choices that are risky,” said Jonah Hill.
“Look at the unconventional storylines of the two movies he’s being honored for this evening. <<Moneyball>> is about baseball statistics and <<The Tree of Life>> is about… I’m sorry, I’ve seen it three times and I still have no idea what <<The Tree of Life>> is about. But it was beautiful.”
Brad Pitt, who was using a cane after, he said, tripping and falling while carrying one of his twins skiing, walked a 300-foot red carpet into the gala alongside partner Angelina Jolie. Other stars in attendance included Jessica Chastain, Charlize Theron, Glenn Close, Al Pacino, Olivia Wilde and Melissa McCarthy.
Octavia Spencer, who was on hand to accept the Breakthrough Performance Award for her work in “The Help,” thanked her dead parents who, she said, “sent me two white knights, very, very white in the form of [director] Tate Taylor and [producer] Brunson Green.” After acknowledging a phalanx of studio personnel and fellow honorees, including Brad Pitt and George Clooney, Octavia Spencer said: “I would be remiss if I didn’t say… I’m single, gentlemen. I just had to throw that in there.”
Later, “The Artist” director Michel Hazanavicius was presented with the Sonny Bono Visionary Award by his stars, Jean Dujardin and Berenice Bejo, who is also the mother of two of his children.

In the interview with the new issue of Marie Claire, Angelina Jolie spoke frankly to the magazine about her lack of female confidantes.
“It was nice for me to play with other girls; I don’t really have girlfriends in movies, if you’ve noticed,” she said.
“Well, I have a few girlfriends, I just… I stay at home a lot. I’m just not very social. I don’t do a lot with them, and I’m very homebound.”
Angelina Jolie, actress, director and mother-of six, who looks stunning in a blue top and gold statement ring, has previously bemoaned the fact that she really only chats with her partner, Brad Pitt.
“I’ll talk to my family,” Angelina Jolie said.
“I talk to Brad … But I don’t know, I don’t have a lot of friends I talk to. He is really the only person I talk to.”
Angelina Jolie‘s reputation as the ultimate man-eater and husband-stealer may account for her lack of gal pals.

Explaining the inspiration for the movie Angelina Jolie said: “It began as a private exercise, an excuse to get out some of my frustrations with international community and justice issues.
“Some of the very darkest sections of the film were conceived in Shiloh’s art class; I was in the back waiting for the kids to finish.”
Angelina Jolie has also revealed she plans to do another war film focusing on Afghanistan, where she made humanitarian trips to recently.
In the Land of Blood and Honey is is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 23.

This time, James J. Braddock, a Croatian journalist, is accusing Angelina Jolie, 36, of stealing the story behind her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey.
In legal documents obtained by RadarOnline, James J. Braddock claims that an article he wrote and published in 2007 is the basis for the film, which Angelina Jolie wrote and directed.
James J. Braddock gives examples of the similarities between his work and Angelina Jolie’s film in the lawsuit.
The lawsuit states that: “The Subject Work’s main female character is subject to continuous abuse and rape by soldiers and officers in the camp.”

An alleged mentally ill 14-year-old boy was kept locked in a filthy room of a mice-infested trailer for three years by his own mother.
Amanda Joliff, the teenager’s mother, who described her son as “developmentally delayed”, only allowed him out to take care of the family’s ducks, to clean and to eat, according to police.
It is reported that the boy ate only about four times a week.
It also appears that authorities missed numerous chances to intervene despite visiting the address numerous times.
Police visited the trailer at least three times since 2007, but, incredibly, failed to notice that anything was wrong.

Police acknowledged Friday that they previously had visited the home but had seen no signs of abuse.
Authorities were first called to the address in February 2007 after the family’s dog bit a boy.
A male child who lived at the home showed up at a bar to listen to country western music in August 2010 after which police took him home.
In 2011, police were again called to the home because neighbors had complained about unlicensed dogs.
Lt Lee Mathis said authorities never entered the home during those visits and didn’t notice anything suspicious.
“If we had any indication of what was going on, we would have taken action,” Lt Mathis said.
Amanda Joliff, 36, and her boyfriend Richard Smith, 31, have been jailed on charges of false imprisonment, child abuse and neglect.

Hazel Dickens, bluegrass singer, born on June 1, 1935, died at 75 on April 22, 2011 from pneumonia. Hazel Dickens and Doc Watson, 88, were two usual appearances at the festival, but this year Watson did not feel so well.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass (HSB) is a family-friendly festival. Children and on-leash dogs are welcome, no camping allowed, no alcohol is sold, but visitors can bring their own.
Potluck Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is an communal healthy food event held on September 30, the attendees bring food and offer it to their neighbors.
The Nighttime events require tickets and features music (The Jayhawks on Friday), film and wines of Silver Oak Cellars.

“People keep saying thank you, thank you, but this is the world’s most selfish gift. To spend three days with people I adore and musicians I’m nuts about, it’s an unbelievable mitzvah to be in a position to do this,” the billionaire told The Press Democrat last year.
