Mia Robertson, the daughter of Duck Dynasty’s stars Jase and Missy Robertson, went under the knife on Friday to treat a cleft issue on her face.
Missy and Jase Robertson have been using Facebook to keep friends, family and fans up to date on the Mia’s progress.
“Almost done with all the pre-op appointments today. Was just told by one of the doctors that she was impressed with how well Mia is prepared for this major bone graft procedure for her cleft,” Missy Robertson wrote on Thursday.
“Surgery tomorrow at 11 a.m. We’re ready! God’s got this.”
Just after the surgery began, Missy Robertson shared a picture of a great many family members gathered at Mia’s bedside.

Noticeably absent were Mia’s grandparents Phil and Miss Kay, as well as her Uncle Willie.
“Surgeon’s [sic] has been working on Mia for about 5 minutes,” Missy Robertson captioned the photo.
“They tell us she’s doing great! Here we all are right before she was wheeled away. Thanks for the prayers.”
About an hour after that, Missy Robertson came back with another update: “Great news! All went well. <<Textbook>> is the word the surgeon used. We are praising God and waiting to go see our baby girl. Thank you for all the prayers!!!!”
Jase Robertson took to Facebook with his own message of appreciation, as well, writing:“I really appreciate the outpouring of support, thoughts and prayers for Mia. Out of surgery, doing great, considering. #Blessed.”
Duck Dynasty’s Alan Robertson says his family isn’t going to back down from defending their biblical principles and, if anything, they plan to be even bolder than before after a series of controversies surrounded his father Phil since last month.
In a recent interview with The Christian Post, Alan Robertson said: “We basically stood with dad, and I think he has the right to express his biblical views, as well as his opinions.
“Obviously now, I think A&E is on board with that as well. They reinstated him, which is a good thing. I say now we just try to make a great television show and move forward. We’re going to continue to talk about the Bible and try to help people, like we always have. That really never was in danger of not happening, and all this does it make us more bold to talk to people.”
Alan Robertson says his family isn’t going to back down from defending their biblical principles
Last month, after A&E announced that Phil Robertson was suspended indefinitely due to pressure from LGBT activist groups for anti-gay comments he made during GQ magazine interview, the family stood together and announced that they were unwilling to continue Duck Dynasty reality show without the family’s patriarch. Nine days later, A & E announced that Phil Robertson was back on, with Season 5 set to air on January 15, and taping for Season 6 to get underway.
Alan Robertson also said: “Dad is a good, solid Bible man, and so are the rest of us. His views of sharing that haven’t changed and ours haven’t either. The biblical message is not always a popular message. There have been many people throughout history who’ve stood up for God and said what God needed them to say, and it didn’t always mean they were popular because of it.”
Duck Dynasty Season 3 premieres across Asia on January 9 at 9 p.m. western Indonesian time zone, on A & E Network’s History channel.
The opening episode sees the Robertson family going on their traditional camping trip the night before duck season, and is followed back-to-back by episode two, which charts Willie Robertson’s attempt to lose weight via any means possible, from yoga classes to chopping firewood.

Some of the Robertson family’s other adventures throughout season three involve an escaped monitor lizard, the hunt for a lost wedding ring, the purchase of a massage chair, a battle against beavers, as well as an eventful family photography session, including hunting dogs. The season culminates in a family holiday to Hawaii, where, although far from home, the Robertsons continue their usual antics.
Ultimately, Duck Dynasty Season 3 continues in the same vein as previous series, offering a humorous window into the lives of a group of proudly self-proclaimed “rednecks” from America’s Deep South.

The interview with Duck Dynasty’s Willie and Korie Robertson on Fox News Channel appears to have given a welcome jolt to the network’s New Year’s Eve coverage.
All-American New Year’s Eve on Tuesday put Fox News ahead of CNN’s rival New Year’s Eve Live in total viewers, in the period from 11 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
This included Bill Hemmer and Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s interview with Willie and Korie Robertson, which helped FNC gain considerable boosts over the previous year.
The special aired from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and averaged 1.7 million total viewers, compared to the 1.4 million that the CNN offering, co-hosted by Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin, averaged.
In the key news demo, however, CNN’s New Year’s Eve offering still came out on top, averaging 584,000 viewers to the 329,000 that Fox’s offering averaged.

Again, CNN won the demo in that time period, averaging 742,000 viewers 25-54 compared to 401,000 for Fox.
In the demo, All-American New Year’s Eve averaged 413,000 total viewers during that time period, a 19% boost over the previous year.
Even so, CNN bested Fox in that time period, averaging 2.095 million total viewers and 906,000 in the demo – though those numbers were down 11% and 4%, respectively, from the previous year.

Duck Dynasty family has launched their own line of guns in collaboration with gunmaker Mossberg.
Mossberg has teamed with Duck Commander, the company owned by Duck Dynasty family, to release nine different shotguns, as well as two semiautomatic rifles and a semiautomatic pistol.
The gunmaker has begun shipping some of the shotguns to distributors, according to spokeswoman Linda Powell. She declined to name specific retailers that will carry them.
Phil Robertson founded Duck Commander 40 years ago.
The Duck Dynasty patriarch was recently suspended – and then reinstated – by A&E network after making controversial remarks about gay people and African-Americans during GQ magazine interview.
Phil Robertson and his sons are featured prominently in four video ads for the new guns on Mossberg website. He narrates one of the spots saying: “Do you know what makes me happy ladies and gentlemen? To blow a mallard drake’s head smooth off.”

The Robertson family business in Louisiana sells duck calls as well as hunting DVDs and clothing through Wal-Mart and other retailers. Duck Dynasty brand has already been affixed to everything from action figures and door mats to wine, (produced by the Trinchero Family Estates) as well as books about cooking and religion.
Mossberg says the Duck Commander guns will come in a “waterfowl pattern” camouflage design, though not all of them are intended for duck hunting. They also bear the Duck Commander logo, of a duck in flight.
The pistol and one of the rifles have military-style designs with large capacity magazines holding at least 25 rounds. The rifle has some of the features of an assault rifle, but with a relatively low .22 caliber.
Mossberg’s website says its .22-caliber pistol is “perfect for small game, plinking, target shooting – or clearing cottonmouths out of your duck blind.”
The firearms will all come with an American flag bandana like the one worn by Willie Robertson.

Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson chose not to quack back during his appearance Tuesday night on Fox News’s All-American New Year special.
In one of his first chances to comment on the controversy surrounding his father and co-star Phil Robertson, Willie Robertson had only kind words for the A&E network and New Year’s wishes for the nation.
“We’re just glad to be back to work, and A&E and us are fine,” Willie Robertson said in a live appearance with his wife Korie Robertson from Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Hosts Bill Hemmer and Elizabeth Hasselbeck gave Willie Robertson several chances to address the firestorm surrounding the suspension of his father over anti-gay comments, but without quite ducking the question, the rsality star chose not to take the bait either.

“We’re looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows. It’s a New Year so we’re ready to break in a New Year and start it all over again,” Willie Robertson said.
“We’re ready to move on, you know. I think we all learned a lot and we’re just ready to move on, and the family’s happy, and we’re ready to go. I’ve got to make sure my guys are back there building duck calls.”
Asked her thoughts on the suspension by Hasselbeck, Korie Robertson took the same conciliatory tone.
“Hey, I’m just glad the family’s all together, the best thing about the show is we get to do it as a family,” she said.
“We’re all happy, happy, happy.”
A&E reinstated Phil Robertson on Friday, nine days after suspending him over the anti-gay comments made to GQ magazine.

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is back in the headlines for a newly surfaced video.
The 2009 footage, which was posted on YouTube, shows Phil Robertson speaking at a Christian retreat in Georgia. During the speech, the Duck Dynasty patriarch tells a story about advising a young man to find a good Christian girl and marry her.
“Make sure that she can cook a meal. You need to eat some meals that she cooks, check that out. Make sure she carries her Bible. That’ll save you a lot of trouble down the road,” Phil Robertson said.

Phil Robertson then went on to say that men should wed girls who are young.
“They got to where they’re getting hard to find, mainly because these boys are waiting ‘til they get to be about 20 years old before they marry ’em,” he said.
“Look, you wait ‘til they get to be 20 years old the only picking that’s going to take place is your pocket. You got to marry these girls when they are about 15 or 16. They’ll pick your ducks.”
Phil Robertson married Miss Kay when she was just 16-year-old. In the state of Louisiana, such unions are legal with parental consent.

Duck Dynasty and Phil Robertson’s supporters have found a new way to duck the halls this holiday season.
The Mail The Duck campaign is sending A&E thousands of tiny yellow rubber ducks to show their support for Phil Robertson.
Conservative Christians are showing solidarity with embattled ‘Duck Dynasty’ patriarch Phil Robertson by sending thousands of tiny rubber ducks to A&E’s New York offices.
The first cardboard box jammed with 1,500 ducks will be sent to the channel’s CEO Nancy Dubuc, according to Janet Porter, the founder of the conservative group Faith2Action.
Janet Porter said she was looking for a “tangible” way to show A&E that thousands of people support Phil Robertson’s views on homos**uality.
Phil Robertson’s fans planned to mail A&E CEO Nancy Dubuc thousands of yellow rubber ducks
Rick Scarborough, president of the partner organization Vision America, came up with idea to organize a “Mail The Duck” campaign. The goal is to fight back against a “homos**ual agenda” that conservatives believe is “steamrolling” over their rights to freedom of religion and free speech.
Janet Porter, president of Faith2Action, said she plans to send the ducks in several batches. She’s already gotten at least 1,500 requests.
The campaign was launched on December 23 and Janet Porter says she’s already gotten thousands of requests to sponsor ducks and send free postcards.
Each duck sets supporters back $7. The squeaky creatures will be labeled with a sponsor’s name, city, and state, along with the message: “We cry fowl-Reinstate Phil!”
Phil Robertson, 67, was suspended from Duck Dynasty show after making anti-gay remarks during an interview with GQ magazine.
A&E Networks decided to reinstate Phil Robertson after a week of controversy.
The Robertson family is ready to move on from the controversy surrounding Duck Dynasty’s patriarch Phil Robertson’s racist and homophobic rants, according to a new report.
A source close to Phil Robertson and his family told People magazine A&E’s announcement that the hit show will return for another season came as a relief.
“The family is happy that they can put this behind them,” the source said.

Phil Robertson caused a firestorm of outrage last week after making anti-gay remarks during an interview with GQ magazine.
He also said black men in Louisiana during the Jim Crow era weren’t “singing the blues” and were “godly” and “happy”.
“It got a little out of hand,” the source told the magazine.
“Phil has never been disrespectful to anyone and treats everyone with kindness. He made some comments off the cuff that he shouldn’t have made, and he knows that.”

As Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson was reinstated on the show Friday following his suspension over anti-gay comments, fans and foes of the move made their views known.
Advocacy group Faith Driven Consumer, which campaigned vigorously that Phil Robertson’s suspension be dropped, issued this statement: “Today’s decision by A&E to reinstate Phil Robertson to Duck Dynasty is in direct response to the powerful and engaged voices of millions of Faith Driven Consumers, as highlighted by more than 260,000 signers of the IStandWithPhil.com petition.
“However, the question remains, has the Faith Driven Consumer community truly been heard?
Phil Robertson was reinstated on Duck Dynasty reality show
“Despite our celebration, we remain uncertain of A&E’s true intent. Today, in the network’s statement of their core values – centered on <<creativity, inclusion, and mutual respect>> – Faith Driven Consumers are left wondering whether A&E considers us to be a part of America’s rich rainbow of diversity. Do they also now embrace the biblically based values and world view held by the Robertson family and millions of Faith Driven Consumers?”
GLAAD, the advocacy group whose vocal condemnation of Phil Robertson’s controversial comments to GQ magazine contributed to A&E’s decision to suspend him, warned both the network and its reality star that they were none too pleased, and would be watching carefully the show’s next steps.
“Phil Robertson should look African-American and gay people in the eyes and hear about the hurtful impact of praising Jim Crow laws and comparing gay people to terrorists,” GLAAD said.
“If dialogue with Phil is not part of next steps then A&E has chosen profits over African American and gay people – especially its employees and viewers.”
Duck Dynasty reality show is a huge money making enterprise for A&E which is co-owned by Walt Disney Co. and Hearst Corp.
According to Forbes magazine, Duck Dynasty has generated $400 million in merchandise sales and $80 million in ad sales for the first nine months of this year.

A&E has announced today that Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson can continue with the reality show despite his anti-gay comments in GQ magazine interview.
The network is reversing its suspension of Phil Robertson, which was imposed last week after his inflammatory comments about gay and black people made. The network’s decision clears the way for the entire Robertson family to resume filming the highly lucrative program this spring.
“While Phil’s comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the <<coarse language>> he used and the misinterpretation of his core belief based solely on the article,” A&E executives said in a statement.
“But ‘Duck Dynasty’ is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family … a family that America has come to love.”
Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson can continue with the reality show despite his anti-gay comments
The network said it consulted with “numerous advocacy groups” and would soon air public service announcements that would promote “unity, tolerance and acceptance”.
A&E executives did not make themselves available for media interviews and it was not known whether any of the Duck Dynasty stars would participate in the announcements.
Before the holidays, the furor surrounding Duck Dynasty reality show exposed wide political and social rifts in the country and stocked cable news programs for days. Conservative commentators argued that Phil Robertson was being punished for exercising his right to free speech and adhering to his Christian principles. A Christian group called Faith Driven Consumers collected more than 250,000 signatures in an online petition that demanded that A&E reinstate Phil Robertson.
On Friday, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, one of many conservatives to speak out in support of the TV family after the suspension, said he was pleased with the network’s about-face.
“I am glad to hear that the folks at A&E came to their senses and recognized that tolerance of religious views is more important than political correctness,” Bobby Jindal said in a statement.
“Today is a good day for the freedoms of speech and religious liberty.”
GLAAD officials released a statement Friday evening but would not comment on whether the gay rights group had participated in talks with the network about its decision to bring back Phil Robertson.
“Phil Robertson should look African American and gay people in the eyes and hear about the hurtful impact of praising Jim Crow laws and comparing gay people to terrorists. If dialogue with Phil is not part of next steps then A&E has chosen profits over African American and gay people — especially its employees and viewers,” GLAAD said.

A&E Networks executives are privately acknowledging they could have better camouflaged the indefinite suspension of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson, according to RadarOnline.
“Network bosses now recognize they should have just taken the show off the air for two weeks, since reruns were just airing anyway,” the insider said.

“The fallout wouldn’t have been strong and everyone could have just moved on.”
Instead of blacking out the show, which draws about 12 million viewers per episode, A&E has scheduled a Duck Dynasty marathon in which 25 consecutive episodes will air beginning at 3:30 p.m. Christmas Day.
Civil rights activist and Baptist minister Jesse Jackson Sr. has jumped into the controversy surrounding anti-gay comments made by Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson.
Jesse Jackson Sr. compared Phil Robertson’s recent comments about African-Americans, gay people and women to comments made by the driver of Rosa Parks’ bus.
“At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law,” he said in a press release.
“Robertson’s statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was <<white privilege>>.”
Jesse Jackson Sr. has jumped into the controversy surrounding anti-gay comments made by Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson
Jesse Jackson’s human rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, has demanded meetings with A&E and with Cracker Barrel regarding the two companies’ treatment of Phil Robertson.
His group, along with LGBT group GLAAD and the National Organization for Women, urged A&E to keep Phil Robertson on an indefinite hiatus from the show, which the network started following the star’s comments in GQ magazine.
Cracker Barrel removed Duck Dynasty items from its shelves and then put them back Sunday after customers protested, according to a Cracker Barrel news release.
Jesse Jackson Sr. and the leaders of the other groups are demanding a sit-down meeting with Cracker Barrel and A&E in the next couple of days.
“It is unacceptable that a personality who has been given such a large platform would benefit from racist and anti-gay comments,” Jesse Jackson Sr. said in the release.
Twitter apologized for mistakenly blocking IStandWithPhil.com and restored pro-Phil Robertson users’ ability to link to the website.

According to the schedule on the networks website, the Robertson family will take over the channel until 4 a.m., and then paid programming – meaning infomercials – will kick in.
Phil Robertson, 67, will not be left out of the Christmas Day airings as he is a key character in plenty of the episodes scheduled to air, including Quack-O-Lantern and Drag me to Glory.
The Duck Dynasty patriarch came under fire last week when GQ magazine published his anti-gay comments. He was subsequently suspended from the series indefinitely, and the family has stated they are hesitant to continue with the show if Phil will not be part of it.
Duck Dynasty Season 5 will premiere on January 15 and Phil Robertson is slated to appear in several episodes that have already been filmed.

People tweeting IStandWithPhil.com, the website created in support Duck Dynasty ’s Phil Robertson, have been blocked by Twitter.
It appears that those who type IStandWithPhil.com receive the following message: “Oops! A URL in your Tweet appears to link to a page that has spammy or unsafe content.”
The Christian group Faith Driven Consumer, which is behind the IStandWithPhil.com page, said a petition at the site has yielded 200,000 signatures in less than four days.
The group said Twitter has also shut down two other pro-Phil Robertson social media accounts.
Twitter has blocked people from tweeting IStandWithPhil
“Despite Twitter’s shut down of iStandWithPhil.com, we are surging through 200,000 supporters. In recent days, iStandWithPhil.com is among the top trending hash tags on Twitter,” said Chris Stone, founder of the group.
“We’re encouraging supporters to be heard, Tweet the @support or @twitter account, and use their other means of communication to get iStandWithPhil.com back online.”
The group notes that a Google page diagnostic of the site indicates it “is not currently listed as suspicious” and that “this has not hosted malicious software over the past 90 days”.
When it complained to Twitter, the group said, it received a boilerplate message saying Twitter “has systems that blocks [sic] the posting of suspected harmful URLs in order to make Twitter safer and more secure for our users. … Even if Google’s diagnostic report of the URL is clean, we may decide to continue blocking the URL on Twitter as potentially harmful”.

Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol Palin, entered the Duck Dynasty controversy saying that gay activists are “hypocritical” to take offense at Phil Robertson’s remarks.
“I think it’s so hypocritical how the LGBT community expects every single flippen person to agree with their life style,” Bristol Palin said in a blog post.
“I hate how the LGBT community says it’s all about <<love>> and <<equality>>,” she continued.

“However, if you don’t agree with their lifestyle, they spread the most hate. It is so hypocritical it makes my stomach turn. They need to learn how to respect others’ opinions and not just jump to the conclusion that everyone who doesn’t support homos**uality and gay marriage is homophobic.”
Bristol Palin has denied in the past that she is herself “a homophobic.”
“I like gays,” she said in July 2012.
“I’m not a homophobic and I’m so sick of people saying that. Just because I’m for traditional marriage doesn’t really mean I’m scared or anything of anyone else, and I don’t hate anybody.”

Louisiana’s Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne says Duck Dynasty reality show is important to state tourism and he could help connect the Robertson family with new producers if they cannot reach agreement with A&E Networks.
A&E Networks suspended Phil Robertson last week over anti-gay remarks during GQ magazine interview.
“Regardless of one’s views on Phil Robertson’s statements, Duck Dynasty has been an important representation of the state of Louisiana, inspiring prospective visitors and investors since its debut,” Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne said in a statement emailed Saturday.
Duck Dynasty is produced around the Robertson family’s home base in Ouachita Parish. KNOE-TV of Monroe reported in February that the show was bringing people from around the country who wouldn’t otherwise stop in northeast Louisiana. The Duck Commander warehouse has become a tourist attraction, said Alana Cooper, director of the Monroe-West Monroe Visitors and Convention Bureau.

Jay Dardenne, whose job includes running the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, said the audience of tens of millions is eager to visit Louisiana.
“If the Robertson family cannot come to an agreement with A&E and wants to continue the show, Louisiana already has the infrastructure in place to maintain their record-breaking program,” he wrote.
Jay Dardenne, who authored the state’s film and TV tax credit program, said he would use his influence in the state’s industry to help the Robertsons.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal said Thursday that everyone is entitled to express their opinions.

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson broke his silence after the controversial interview with GQ magazine and subsequent suspension from the A&E’s reality show.
Phil Robertson, 67, said during a Bible study group in West Monroe, Louisiana, on December 22: “I will not give or back off from my path.”
“We are a bunch of rednecks from Louisiana, but I am not uneducated. I have a degree from Louisiana Tech. But this week I have been called an ignoramus,” Phil Robertson shared with the group, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson broke his silence after the controversial interview with GQ magazine and subsequent suspension from the A&E’s reality show
“This week I have been asked, <<Is this the first time you have brought up sin?>>” the Duck Commander recalled during the religious meeting.
“I said, <<Are you kidding? I have been traveling to and for spreading this message>>. Then he said, <<Well, do you invite yourself to go and get your Bible and tell people what you are now sharing with us?>> I said, <<No, they are inviting me>>.”
The Robertson family patriarch added: “I love all men and women. I am a lover of humanity, not a hater.”
He then led the group in prayer and shared: “I will not give or back off from my path because you conquered death, Father, so we are not worried about all the repercussions.”
Phil Robertson made no direct mention of A&E Networks, which placed him on hiatus from filming “indefinitely”.
At least two networks are eager to air Duck Dynasty reality show if A&E decides to ax the hugely popular reality show, TMZ reported.
Merrill Sport, owner of the Christian-affiliated Hunt Channel told the website that he’d be thrilled to pick up the show.
“We believe in the 2nd amendment and freedom of speech,” he said.
At least two networks are eager to air Duck Dynasty reality show if A&E decides to ax the hugely popular reality show
“…A&E needs to put on their big boy pants, and if they don’t like the programming, they need to either let [Duck Dynasty] go or shut up and pay them.”
“A&E is too scripted. [Hunt Channel] would let the personalities flow.”
Rusty Faulk, CEO of the Pursuit Channel is also willing to air Duck Dynasty telling TMZ that the channel doesn’t, “censor our personalities.”
However, the Robertson family’s A&E contract precludes the clan from doing another show for a certain period of time.
Less than two days after Cracker Barrel announced plans to withdraw selected Duck Dynasty items from its shelves in the wake of Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments, the Southern country store and restaurant chain has reversed its decision.
Cracker Barrel’s reversal of its former position was posted this morning to Facebook, following a flurry of negative responses from customers and fans who showed support to Phil Robertson and Duck Dynasty family.
“When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many of our loyal customers. Our intent was to avoid offending, but that’s just what we’ve done,” Cracker Barrel wrote.
“You flat out told us we were wrong. We listened.”
Cracker Barrel has reversed its decision in Phil Robertson controversy
“People weren’t shy. They wrote, called and took to social media,” Cracker Barrel’s spokesman Jeff Eller told ABC News about the company’s decision to go back on its original pledge to ax “selected products” from its stores.
The restaurant was the first major retailer to announce its stance on the Duck Dynasty scandal since Phil Robertson’s remarks went public.
A statement posted on Cracker Barrel’s Facebook page read: “Cracker Barrel’s mission is pleasing people. We operate within the ideals of fairness, mutual respect and equal treatment of all people. These ideals are the core of our corporate culture.”
