Though not originally from a hunting family, Korie Robertson fit in with the Duck Dynasty’s family right away.

Korie Robertson, née Howard, was born on October 24, 1973 and is Willie’s wife and business partner. She also graduated from Harding University. She is the office manager of Duck Commander.

As Willie Robertson’s wife and business partner, she helped him grow the company into an ever-expanding enterprise. As the Duck Commander office manager Korie Robertson has to make her presence known in order to keep the workshop from turning into a funhouse. She met Willie Robertson in third grade and when he asked her to go on a moonlit hike at summer camp. He was 4th grade.

Korie and Willie Robertson got married on January 11, 1992, a year after high school, when she was 18 and he was 19.

Korie and Willie Robertson have five children: John Luke, Sadie, an adopted son named Will (called “Lil Will” on the show), Bella and Rebecca (formerly an exchange student from Taiwan now their adopted daughter).

In the late 1960s in Ruston, Louisiana, two Bulldog quarterbacks’ life paths diverged sharply.

One was Terry Bradshaw, who went on to attain the top pick in the 1970 NFL Draft, a lengthy career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, four Super Bowl victories, a spot in the Hall of Fame and a second career in front of the camera.

The other one was Phil Robertson, who was ahead of Terry Bradshaw on Louisiana Tech’s depth chart but gave up football with one year of eligibility remaining because the game and any future in it interfered with his heart’s dearest passion: duck-hunting season.

“At the time, no one quite understood what exactly was my problem because I didn’t put football as the ultimate goal, being this stud hoss football player, but what they didn’t see then, they get it now,” Phil Robertson said.

“Because as it turns out, what am I talking about now?”

Phil Robertson, now 67, was referring to the duck call business he started out of his home, which became the Duck Commander regime and led some 40 years later to the creation of Duck Dynasty, which airs on A&E.

Coming out of Vivian, Louisiana’s North Caddo High School, Phil Alexander Robertson said he fielded offers to join the football programs at LSU, Ole Miss, Baylor and Rice, but chose Louisiana Tech to remain close to home. After redshirting his freshman year, he was joined by some soon-to-be famous company on the depth chart.

“The quarterback playing ahead of me, Phil Robertson, loved hunting more than he loved football,” Terry Bradshaw wrote in his autobiography, It’s Only a Game.

“He’d come to practice directly from the woods, squirrel tails hanging out of his pockets, duck feathers on his clothes. Clearly he was a fine shot, so no one complained too much.”

Asked whether there was any truth to the squirrel tails anecdote, Robertson one-upped his own legend:”Squirrel guts! Squirrel guts hangin’ out my pocket!”

He spoke fondly of Terry Bradshaw and of his time with the Bulldogs, though he’s never been back since giving up football. “Bradshaw’s a great guy,” Phil Robertson said.

“I was the one that named him the Blond Bomber, and while he was at Tech, I said <<Son, you’ve got the want to and the drive to play in the NFL, you got a great arm>>, and I said <<You got brains>>, and when I got to brains, Bradshaw said, <<Are you serious about the brains?>> I said, <<Well, you have enough sense to play in the NFL>>. As it turned out, I put it this way, he must’ve been smart enough to win four Super Bowls.”

After three letter-winning seasons and with one year of eligibility remaining, Phil Robertson had had enough. He says he spurned interest from the Washington Redskins and went after the ducks full time in the fall while completing his undergraduate degree. “Bradshaw will tell the story better than I do,” Phil Robertson said.

“To put it bluntly, he was very happy that I chose ducks because he moved up a slot. I was blessed with a good arm, or Bradshaw wouldn’t have been playing second string to me.

“But you gotta remember, my heart was then and to this day — let me put it this way: Throwing a touchdown pass to a guy running down the sideline, and he runs down with the ball for six, it was fun. However, in my case, it was much more fun to be standing down in some flooded timber with about 35 or 40 mallard ducks comin’ down on top of me in the woods. That did my heart more good than all the football in the world.”

Phil Robertson went to work as a schoolteacher for several years after graduating from Tech, obtaining his master’s degree in education via night classes, with a concentration in English.

“I kinda liked ol’ Shakespeare and them guys, you know,” Phil Robertson said.

“I went back and got my master’s just in case. I thought, if I ever needed it, I’d have the sheepskin to show people no matter how dumb I looked, actually I was about half intelligent. I got the degree to let ‘em know I wasn’t as dumb as I acted.”

And all the while, Phil Robertson continued to hone his hunting craft. Dissatisfied with commercial duck calls, he began producing and selling his own about 40 years ago. These led to a series of duck-hunting videos that began 25 years ago, which led in turn to stints on the Outdoor Channel. Then came the call from A&E.

“Let’s face it, the bar has been set pretty low for you to get on American television these days. I think they said, <<Why don’t we try a functional family>>, and somebody said well, that’s a novel idea. Round here, you know, there’s no outbursts, belligerence, cursing, gettin’ drunk, dope, no, we’re all Godly people, so maybe it’s a little switch for a change. We’re not actually rednecks, but we probably could be called goodoleboys,” Phil Robertson said.

The Duckmen are under no-shave, no-laundry policies during the 10-week season.

“We shower our bodies during the hunting season, but under no circumstances do we ever wash our clothes,” Phil Robertson said. “We hang ‘em up and let ‘em air dry. We begin to look like the landscape around us, you know what I’m sayin’? Oh, they’ll get it. Hey, life is good, life is good.”

He attended Louisiana Tech where he was the starting quarterback and star of the football team.

Phil Robertson actually started ahead of future NFL hall of famer Terry Bradshaw. Upon graduation Phil Robertson had the option to play football professionally but declined because he didn’t want to miss duck hunting season.

In 1973 Phil Robertson invented the Duck Commander Duck Call which eventually became the gold standard duck whistle among professional hunters. He owns and operates the business alongside his four sons, and wife Kay who have all helped turn Duck Commander into the multi-million dollar business it is today.

The Robertson family and their business are so popular that they now have their very own reality show on A&E called Duck Dynasty.

During the 10 week duck hunting season, Phil Robertson has a tradition of not showering or shaving ever to bring him luck.

Miss Kay Robertson is the revered matriarch of the family featured in the Duck Dynasty reality show.

Marsha Kay “Miss Kay” Robertson (née Carroway), born December 21, 1950, is Phil Robertson’s wife.

She was 16 when she married Phil Robertson and since then she’s been keeping him and the boys from spending too much time in the woods, bringing them back to civilization each night with a home cooked meal.

Miss Kay Robertson is the revered matriarch of the family featured in the Duck Dynasty reality show

Miss Kay Robertson is the mother of Alan (who previously worked with Duck Commander before becoming a minister but has since returned to the company; he is not featured on the show), Jase, Willie, and Jep. She loves cooking, so she always has her entire family over for a home-cooked meal after a hard day’s work. (The meal setting is featured at the end of each episode, with Phil Robertson praying beforehand and his son Willie talking about the events of the episode).

Miss Kay Robertson believes her cooking talents are a gift which she must share, so she often ends up feeding all of the family and most of the neighborhood. Her most famous dishes are banana pudding, fried deer steak, crawfish pie, and sticky frog legs.

Kay Robertson’s favorite family member is Jesse, the family dog.

But here’s the secret, every time he dies, Miss Kay quickly gets a new puppy that looks just like the one that passed and even gives it the same name. As Miss Kay Robertson puts it, “this way, you never have to grieve.”

Phil Robertson, patriarch of the family featured in the Duck Dynasty reality show, is a living legend in Louisiana and is better known by his alias: the Duck Commander.

Phil Alexander Robertson, born April 24, 1946, created the Duck Commander duck call in 1972, and incorporated the Duck Commander Company in 1973.

Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Duck Dynasty family

Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Duck Dynasty family

He may not look like it, but Phil Robertson played first-string quarterback ahead of football star Terry Bradshaw at Louisiana Tech University in the ’60s. They were both drafted into the NFL but Phil Robertson turned it down because it interfered with duck season and he was not interested in having “large, violent… men chasing me trying to stomp me in the dirt”. Instead he stayed in Louisiana, married his high school sweetheart, Miss Kay, built a house down by the river and together they raised four children.

Phil and Miss Kay Robertson have four sons together: Alan (who previously worked with Duck Commander before becoming a minister but has since returned to the company; he is not featured on the show), Jase, Willie, and Jep.

Phil Robertson’s love for the outdoors leads him to create the Duck Commander® Duck Call in 1973, which has gone on to become the most trusted duck whistle ever conceived.

Duck hunting is so important to Phil Robertson that he follows a strict routine of no showering, no shaving, and no clothes washing of any kind during the ten-week season to ensure a bountiful haul.

Phil Robertson is known for his dislike of modern technology (he proudly admits that he does not own a cellphone or a computer) and his concern that his grandchildren are becoming “yuppies”.

Flextone Game Calls, the maker of special hunting calls, is excited about their new product called the Black Rack™ and it nabbed Si Robertson of Duck Dynasty to be the spokesman on the latest commercial.

The Flextone Black Rack dismantles the traditional method of using one full rack to create a rattling sound of two mature bucks going head-to-head for the right rain king of their doe’s. This rattling noise will attract other nearby bucks to come investigate who is fighting and what the prize is at stack.

Flextone Game Calls is excited about their new product Black Rack and it nabbed Si Robertson to be the spokesman on the latest commercial

Flextone Game Calls is excited about their new product Black Rack and it nabbed Si Robertson to be the spokesman on the latest commercial

Flextone saw this as a flaw in that only using one full rack does not fully create the proper sound that will attract some of the big boys in the woods. To address this problem they developed the Black Rack which is made of two full racks designed for maximum long range sounds. Forged from Bone Core Technology for realistic rattling tone. They chose the color black to conceal movements.

With this new product coming soon to the family of products offered by Flextone, they needed to create some buzz in the media so of course they looked no further than Si Robertson of A&E’s Duck Dynasty to endorse and deliver a powerful message of their new product. “IT’S THE BLACK RACK, JACK!”

Watch below the hilarious video of Uncle Si showing how to rattle deer in the right way with the new Flextone Black Rack. Hilarity ensues with every new saying he comes up with.

Willie Jess Robertson is the CEO and resident prankster of Duck Commander and is best known for his appearances on the hit TV show Duck Dynasty.

He lives in West Monroe, Louisiana, with his wife Korie Robertson and their five children.

Willie was born on April 22, 1972 to Phil Robertson and Marsha Kay Robertson. He is the third oldest brother of Jase, Jep, and Alan Robertson.

As the only one with the business degree, Willie Robertson took the company from a living room operation down by the river to a premiere destination for all things outdoors. He says he honed his skills as a salesman by selling his freshly caught fish at the market with his mom as a young boy. Even then he was always working to negotiate the best price. While Willie Robertson says “being a redneck millionaire has its perks,” including buying new trucks, gadgets and swanky suits, working with kin can be a headache.

As a child, Willie Robertson grew up around hunting and the great outdoors, as well as a small business ran by his father, Duck Commander. As a boy, Willie Robertson handled a myriad of tasks at the company, including building duck calls, and even handling business calls.

Ever since childhood Willie Robertson and his brothers have been interested in the family business started by their father Phil Robertson.

Willie Robertson used his business degree from Harding University to take Duck Commander from a family business to a multi-million dollar empire. Duck Commander is the company that generated a great portion of the wealth that he has acquired, and also generated the interest to start the TV show, Duck Dynasty. In 2006, Willie Robertson started another pursuit when he started the company Buck Commander. This company has also created the Buckmen series of DVD’s and the television show Buck Commander: Protected by Under Armour on the Outdoor Channel.

On Duck Dynasty, Willie Robertson is one of the main characters of the show, alongside his brothers Jase, and Jep, his father Phil, and uncle Silas. He is main narrator, and often is the peacekeeper of his business.

Willie Robertson tries to see that as much business gets as done as possible, only to be challenged by his brothers and uncle. His brothers and Uncle Si chastise him for being too busy, but he sees it as necessary for their way of life. From time to time, however, Willie Robertson will participate in the mischief of his coworkers and family.

He is also known for his Christian Faith, and goes about preaching and bringing people to Christ. He is also almost always seen wearing a bandana in the pattern of an American flag on his head, and often wears a white jacket to look more professional.

Willie Robertson is estimated to be worth about $10 millions and is also well known for his ZZ Top style beard.

Si Merritt “Si” Robertson is Duck Commander Phil’s younger brother, best friend, and partner in crime.

Born on April 27, 1948, Si Robertson has a very specific job at the Duck Commander workshop, fashioning the reeds that are inserted in every patented duck call. It’s a pretty easy job, made needlessly difficult by the fact that Si Robertson can never seem to stay on task.

Si Robertson’s most famous story is that while serving overseas, his mother sent him a blue mug. Thirty years later it’s still hanging from his back pocket and he continues to only drink from this cup, every day.

Uncle Si is married to Christine for many many years and they have together two children: a daughter, Trasa Cobern Robertson, and a son, Scott Robertson. Christine, Trasa and Scott are not featured in the reality show.

All Duck Dynasty’s lovable, sweet tea-swilling couples are anchored by long-standing, rock-solid marriages.

The Robertson couples – from patriarch and matriarch Phil and Kay on down to their sons and daughters-in-law – are definitely having and holding, for richer and for poorer , in sickness and in health, for as long as they both shall live.

Jase Robertson and Missy

Jase and Missy Robertson’s meet-cute story sounds like it comes straight out of a movie: They met in high school on a fake date to make Jase’s ex-girlfriend jealous! Now, they’ve been married over 20 years and have three kids – Reed, Cole, and Mia.

Jase Robertson and his wife Missy

Jase Robertson told Game & Fish magazine that the question the bearded Robertson men get asked most by viewers is how they managed to snag such beautiful wives.

“You hear people say <<Oh these women married these guys for their money>>, because we’re successful now, but what they don’t realize is that when they met us, we didn’t have any money. We were all poor, and we’ve all been married for lots of years,” Jase Robertson explained.

“I always think that’s comical. We really came from humble beginnings. It’s just been the American dream lived out, we do what we love to do, and it just worked out. But you know our wives are with us because of our spiritual qualities, which flies in the face of what most people think.”

On his Facebook page, Jase Robertson said “I am HAPPILY married” while responding to various fan questions.

“We were on a hike and I asked her to hold hands,” Willie Robertson told AskMen.

“We went to different schools – I was in public and she was in private – but we’d see each other in the Christian youth group during the year.”

They married a year after high school, and Willie Robertson doesn’t regret tying the knot at such a young age.

“That way you don’t have all the baggage. All our memories are together. Everything we have, we built together.”

Perhaps their five kids – three biological, two adopted – will take his advice. The eldest two, John Luke and Sadie, are high schoolers who are dating.

Now married for more than 21 years, Willie Robertson credits his wife for the family business’s success.

“In the early days, it was her encouragement that got me to start thinking about how to expand the business,” Willie Robertson said.

“Had I not been married to her, I never would have done anything that I’ve done today.”

Women everywhere shed a tear last December when Uncle Si Robertson, the infinitely quotable war veteran, revealed he was actually married. His wife of 43 years, Christine, is not featured on the show.

The inadvertent heartthrob had seemingly been getting so much fan mail that he finally posted a picture of himself with Christine on his Facebook fan page, with the caption: “Everyone’s been asking so here ya go…This is me and my wife Christine, we have been married 43 years…Loved her then, Love her still, always have, always will…and you can take that to the bank, JACK!!”

Uncle Si’s niece-in-law, Jessica Robertson, also posted a picture of the elusive Christine:

On Duck Dynasty, Si Robertson talked about his marriage for the first time just weeks ago. His grandnephew John Luke needed advice about breaking up with his girlfriend, and Si Robertson proudly declared he’d been married for over four decades.

Phil Robertson and Miss Kay

The high school sweethearts started dating when Kay was just 14 and got married in 1966 when she was 16. They were practically an old married couple when Phil Robertson attended Louisiana Tech on a football scholarship; he even started ahead of the now-legendary Terry Bradshaw and turned down an offer to play in the NFL to concentrate on duck hunting.

“They had me there when they first got to Tech, so he was also a little different than the modern athlete,” their oldest son, Alan Robertson, told ESPN.

Phil Robertson and Miss Kay

(Alan Robertson is a minister who is not on Duck Dynasty)

“He already had a family at that young of an age. I think that hunting, some of it was just providing for us. So I think that changed a bit of his attitude and allowed him to walk away a little bit easier, you know.”

Phil Robertson and Miss Kay’s love story hasn’t always been happy, though. In the ’70s, Phil Robertson was “headed south” – running a bar, drinking, getting into fights.

In his autobiography, The Duck Commander Family, son Willie Robertson recounts how his father Phil kicked out his family in a drunken rage, then begged Miss Kay to come back.

“What kept me there? What made me stay with him? It was words my grandmother said: <<One man, one wife, for one life>>,” Kay Robertson told Sports Spectrum.

Phil Robertson turned to religion to change his life, and Miss Kay forgave him. They’re still together more than 45 years later!

Duck Dynasty Season 3 just ended and, according to a Facebook post by March’s Outdoor Adventures on May 9, people are complaining about how the A&E hit show presents praying and using guns all the time.

A&E network was asked to remove the show from TV.

Duck Dynasty Season 4 is scheduled to air late in 2013

Duck Dynasty Season 4 is scheduled to air late in 2013

With 9.6 million viewers for the season 3 finale that is highly unlikely. Duck Dynasty even beat American Idol in ratings for that night.

A&E went to Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Robertson clan, and asked if they could stop the praying and the guns.

Phil Robertson said: “If we can’t pray to God on the show, we will not do the show. God and guns are a part of our everyday lives. To remove either of them from the show is unacceptable.”

Fans of Duck Dynasty and of the God-fearing head of the family wouldn’t have expected any other answer from Phil Robertson.

So A&E caved and accepted Phil Robertson’s terms. After all, Duck Dynasty is the most popular reality TV show on cable these days. A&E signed the Robertson’s for another season of Duck Dynasty as confirmed both by A&E and by Willie Robertson.

Duck Dynasty Season 4 is scheduled to air late in 2013.

A & E’s new reality show Duck Dynasty has been successful beyond what anyone could have imagined, and the most popular cast member of all is Si Robertson.

As fame always has its price, especially in reality TV, Uncle Si’s wife, Christine Robertson, expressed on her Facebook page that she is really feeling the pressure of their new life in the spotlight.

Christine Robertson posted that this is supposed to be their golden years, but she saw Uncle Si more when he was in the military. She described their Duck Dynasty time as a bumpy ride that she was ready to get off!

Although Si Robertson’s wife Christine chose not to be on the program for whatever unknown reason, her whole life is now upside down with the chaos from Duck Dynasty

Although Si Robertson’s wife Christine chose not to be on the program for whatever unknown reason, her whole life is now upside down with the chaos from Duck Dynasty

Things have not been easy for Si Robertson and his wife since they became more famous than most movie stars. They just live normal, ordinary lives in a normal, ordinary home, but the problem is that things are just not normal anymore.

Uncle Si’s wife described people coming to the door and knocking around 7:40 a.m. Reality stars have the disadvantage that anyone can figure out where they live and just show up. They are in the process of tearing down their home and building another one on the same spot. Si and Christine Robertson’s daughter suggested it would just be better to move altogether so the craziness would stop because nobody would know where they lived.

Christine Robertson shared on her Facebook a few weeks ago about going into her kitchen and having to drop to the floor because someone was snapping photos through the kitchen window. There is already talk of a privacy fence going up to stop this sort of thing.

Although Si Robertson’s wife chose not to be on the program for whatever unknown reason, her whole life is now upside down with the chaos from Duck Dynasty.

Turning small business owners into stars has become a winning formula for television producers, but some businesses featured in them are cashing in, too.

Sales explode after just a few episodes air, transforming these nearly unknown small businesses into household names.

In addition to earning a salary from starring in the shows, some small business owners are benefiting financially from opening gift shops that sell souvenirs or getting involved in other ventures that spawn from their new-found fame.

Duck Commander, seen in Duck Dynasty reality show, is having trouble controlling the crowds in front of its headquarters in the small city of West Monroe, Louisiana.

“Sometimes it’s hard getting from the truck to the front door,” says Willie Robertson, who owns Duck Commander with his father and stars in the A&E series with his extended family.

It’s a big change for a company that sells duck calls out of a part-brick, part-cinder block warehouse on a dry, dead-end country road. Duck hunters use the whistles, which mimic duck sounds, to attract their prey.

Since Duck Dynasty began airing in March 2012, Willie Robertson finds at least 70 people waiting in front of the warehouse every morning asking for autographs and photos. Neighbors have complained about the mobs and the police have been called.

Despite the trouble, the show has been good for the family business. Sales of the company’s duck calls, which range from $20 to $175, have skyrocketed. In 2011, the company sold 60,000 duck calls. In 2012, the year the show began airing, the company sold 300,000.

“We saw a big difference as the Nielsen ratings went up,” says Willie Robertson.

Their income from doing the show may be going up along with the ratings. Duck Dynasty is the most watched documentary-style reality series on TV right now, according to Nielsen, which provides information and insight into what consumers watch and buy. April’s one-hour season three finale was watched by 9.6 million people, making it the most watched program in A&E’s 29-year history. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the cast of the show is demanding a raise to $200,000 an episode to do a fourth season. Both the network and Willie Robertson had no comment on the report.

Cameras follow Willie Robertson and his family as they make duck calls, hunt or go camping. One episode showed Willie Robertson trying to prove to his dad, brother and uncle that he could spend a night in a tent during a camping trip. (Willie Robertson ends up bringing a big recreational vehicle and is ridiculed for it. “Once you bring something with wheels that’s enclosed, you’re no longer camping. You’re parking,” says Willie Robertson’s brother, Jace Robertson, in the episode.)

Duck Commander hired five more people to keep up with rising sales. Every duck call has to be put together by hand.

“It’s like a musical instrument,” says Willie Robertson.

“Each one needs to be blown into it to make sure it works.”

To stop the crowds from disrupting business, and to make extra cash, Willie Robertson opened a gift shop inside the Duck Commander warehouse.

“It keeps the people out of my lobby,” he says. The shop sells duck calls, Duck Commander T-shirts and bobble head dolls that look like Willie Robertson, his dad, uncle and brother, complete with their long beards.

It appears the menu at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner failed to impress the stars of Duck Dynasty reality show.

The culinary review of Willie and Korie Robertson, who sat pretty close to President Barack Obama at the WHCD, was very underwhelming, reports TMZ.

Check the entire menu and see why the A&E stars were disappointed.
