Political newcomer Republican Vance McAllister, who was endorsed by Duck Dynasty‘s Willie Robertson, won a Louisiana special election for Congress on Saturday.
Vance McAllister defeated Republican state Senator Neil Riser 60% to 40% to represent Louisiana’s fifth Congressional District.
In the October 15 open primary, Neil Riser got 32% of the vote while Vance McAllister got 18%.
Republican Vance McAllister, who was endorsed by Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson, won a Louisiana special election for Congress
“I’m so humbled. So humbled. This is such a great monumental win – victory,” Vance McAllister said Saturday night.
“[This race] was never about why not to vote for Neil Riser. It was about why to vote for Vance McAllister.”
The election was held after Republican Rodney Alexander (R-LA) vacated the seat when he abruptly retired from Congress to take a post in Republican Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal’s administration.
Willie Robertson, who some expected to run for the seat, endorsed Vance McAllister on Wednesday, calling him a “good buddy” who “can turn Washington around.”

Duck Dynasty, the A&E’s highest rated telecast in history, is becoming America’s 2013 new Chia.
Chia Duck Dynasty comes from the company that makes the world famous pottery that grows.

The Home Depot is offering Chia Duck Dynasty Si Robertson for $15.99.
More than 800 people showed up early Wednesday morning at the Post Exchange (PX) on Fort Hood, Texas, to have books signed by Duck Dynasty’s Si Robertson.
Uncle Si Robertson, who’s a Vietnam veteran, has a son, Scott Robertson, who was assigned to Fort Hood at one time, and deployed to Iraq.
Si Robertson’s new book is titled Si-cology 1: Tales and Wisdom from Duck Dynasty’s Favorite Uncle.
More than 800 people showed up at the PX on Fort Hood to have books signed by Si Robertson
Officials at the PX said they planned for 600 to 800 fans, but more than that were in the line that wound around the building.
Many fans said they like the show because of the family values and the fact that there’s no profanity so even kids can watch it.
The event even attracted some Si Robertson lookalikes, who said they’ve watched the show since it premiered in 2012.
Si Robertson will be visiting other military bases for similar book signings during the next few months.
Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson has endorsed political outsider and Republican businessman Vance McAllister, who will be battling it out December 9 in a special run-off election for a vacant seat in Louisiana’s 5th Congressional district where Robertson and his famous clan are residents.
Willie Robertson, once rumored to be considering a run for the very same seat, appears in a campaign video reminding voters to “get out…and vote for my good buddy Vance McAllister. Let’s send somebody from the 5th District who speaks for us to help turn Washington around.”
Vance McAllister appears at the end of the video and says: “I’m not a politician, but I approve this message.”
He has been promoting his outsider status from the beginning against state Senator Neil Riser, his Republican opponent.
Willie Robertson has endorsed political outsider and Republican businessman Vance McAllister, who will be battling it out December 9 in a special run-off election for a vacant seat in Louisiana’s 5th Congressional district
The strategy has worked so far, with Vance McAllister beating 12 other candidates, including state lawmakers, mayors and a former congress member, in an October 16 open primary where he garnered 18 percent of the vote.
However, Neil Riser, who won 32% of the vote in the primary, will be stiff competition for the contested seat, which Rep. Rodney Alexander vacated this summer to take a position in Gov. Bobby Jindal’s administration.
But Vance McAllister’s campaign thinks the name-recognition of the Robertsons will help them cross the finish line first.
“I think it gives an added bit of bona fides,” Vance McAllister adviser John Robinson told Roll Call, which posted the campaign video Thursday.
“I heard some people say, <<Oh, we’ve heard of Neil Riser, but we know the Robertsons are behind you>>.”
It’s hard to believe people haven’t heard of the Robertsons, even if they haven’t seen an episode of Duck Dynasty. The show, which follows the lives of the tight-knit duck call-making band of brothers and their families, is the most watched cable reality television show in history, beating out one-time rating juggernauts like American Idol.
This isn’t Willie Robertson’s first foray into political waters. While promoting his show – and squelching rumors of personal political ambitions on Fox News in August – Willie Robertson revealed his candidate pick for 2016.
“I’m curious to know about Jindal,” Willie Robertson said.
“That’s my guy.”

A Duck Dynasty event for a Christian organization in Bristol has now been canceled because of Duck Commander business deal.
Organizers of the Family Ministries benefit announced the cancellation of Willie Robertson’s appearance Monday evening.
They say a recent partnership between Duck Dynasty and Duck Commander Wines will send the wrong message to young people who were attending the event.
A Duck Dynasty event for a Christian organization in Bristol has now been canceled because of Duck Commander business deal
“Our greatest responsibility is to the young people we serve. Therefore, we feel that in light of the recent news that the stars of the show <<Duck Dynasty>> are partnering with Trinchero Family Estates to launch Duck Commander Wines, to continue with this event would send mixed messages to the young people who go through our Adolescent Drug and Alcohol program,” said Derek Bell, director of development for Family Ministries, in a press release.
Tickets will be refunded by the Viking Hall Civic Center. The event was scheduled for April 12, 2014.
Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson announced that Duck Commander Wines will hit stores this month.
According to People magazine, the Robertsons have partnered with the winemakers of the Trinchero Family Estates in Napa. They offer the Triple Threat Red Blend, Miss Priss Pink Moscato, and Wood Duck Chardonnay with bottles decked out in camo-inspired labels.

Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas debuted this week in the Billboard chart knocking Luke Bryan’s album from first to fourth.
The album took over the top spot ahead of Thomas Rhett’s It Goes Like This and Toby Keith’s Drinks After Work, which are also in their first week on the chart.

Duck the Halls is also ranked second on the publication’s list of Top Holiday Albums behind Kelly Clarkson’s Wrapped in Red.
Duck Dynasty’s album is currently listed as fourth on the Billboard 200, which ranks top-selling albums for the week across all genres. The Christmas record is situated behind new albums from Arcade Fire, Katy Perry and Clarkson.
The Robertsons are joined on their album by country music stars like Luke Bryan, Alison Krauss, Josh Turner and George Strait, who won the Country Music Association award for Entertainer of the Year on Wednesday.
Duck the Halls features a blend of original songs, such as Ragin’ Cajun Redneck Christmas, and more traditional Christmas tunes, including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and I’ll Be Home for Christmas.

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson assembled the Duck Commander’s 1 millionth call of the year at the company’s retail store on Kings Lane in West Monroe.
Phil Robertson put the call — fittingly his wooden Classic Commander with cedar insert and poplar barrel — and blew a few mallard notes.
“Not bad for the 1 millionth duck call,” said the Duck Commander, who said it was his first time in the store.
The Robertson family, whose Duck Commander business has exploded following their Duck Dynasty fame, is auctioning off the duck call with proceeds to benefit the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Association for its Wounded Warrior hunts.
“This has been the best thing to ever happen to the Warrior hunt,” said veteran John Nolan, who coordinates the hunts in northeastern Louisiana, including an upcoming event with 24 disabled veterans.
“For the (men and women) who have sacrificed with their lives and limbs … the least I can do is try to help out,” Phil Robinson said.
More than 100 fans, among them a tour busload from Oklahoma, packed the Duck Commander store to cheer the milestone, a far cry from the reaction Phil Robertson received when he presented his first duck call to his family in the early 1970s.
The Duck Dynasty patriarch said he walked into the house and presented the duck call to his parents, his wife Miss Kay and the couple’s two young sons Al and Jase as they were playing dominoes.
“I walked in and said we’re going to sell a million dollars worth of these before it’s over,” Phil Robertson recalled.
Phil Robertson assembled the Duck Commander’s 1 millionth call of the year at the company’s retail store
He said the family never looked up and continued the domino game.
“They said nothing,” Phil Robertson said.
“Little did I know 40 years later I would be erroneous,” he said.
Instead of $1 million worth of calls, “we literally sold 1 million in just a year.”
The Robertsons aren’t revealing annual revenue generated by the company, but consider that Duck Commander calls sell from a low of $19.95 to a high of $179.95 for the Cold Blooded series calls made of acrylic that look like snakeskin. Phil’s Classic Commander goes for $44.95.
“It’s a momentous occasion,” Al Robertson said while introducing his father to the crowd.
“Who’d have thought from one duck call this empire would emerge?”
Duck Commander call sales have surged from 60,000 in 2011 to 1 million and counting this year. Robertson said he sold 2,000 his first year.
Phil Robertson, with his Classic Commander in one hand and the Bible, credited God for his and the family’s success.
“I’m a C-plus man, so I can’t attribute it to intellect,” he said.
“God has poured out his blessing toward us.”
He recounted his story of redemption to fans Thursday.
“I repented at 28 and turned to God,” said Phil Robertson, who often uses the stage of fame to profess his Christian faith.
“There’s no down side to loving God and loving your neighbor.”
But even with that faith Phil Robertson said he could have never predicted the company’s current success.
“I didn’t think it possible,” he said.
“But I’m still the same dude. The only difference is I’ve sold a million duck calls.”
Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson was part of her Louisiana high school’s homecoming court this fall along with her older brother John Luke.
John Luke Robertson stuck to a traditional black tuxedo and his sister Sadie enjoyed a few wardrobe changes, picking a strapless dress embroidered with bright flowers and cinched with a skinny black belt for the dance and wearing a chic red and black coat and a black wide-brim hat for her appearance on the field.

Homecoming weekend was a family affair for the close-knit Robertsons: father Willie escorted Sadie out on the field, a buouttionere tucked into his sport coat and a stars-and-stripes band around his head, and mom Korie and grandma Chrys helped design Sadie’s sophomore class float.
Sadie Robertson, who is also class vice president, served as a sophomore maid and John Luke was a junior escort.
“It’s fun to have my dad walk me across the field and see that he’s proud to be my escort,” Sadie Robertson said.
“My best friend, Anna Catherine, was a sophomore maid, too. We pretty much have done everything together since preschool, so loved getting to be on the court with her.”
Viewers watching the 47th Annual Country Music Association Awards – held Wednesday night in Nashville – were surprised with Duck Dynasty stars appearance.
Willie and Jase Robertson were joined by their wives Korie and Missy to perform a redneckified version of Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines.
While the Robertson clan twerked on stage, CMA Awards hosts, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, switched up the words of Robin Thicke’s song.

Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson admitted that his bad behavior once put in jeopardy his 47-year marriage to his wife, Miss Kay.
Phil Robertson, 67, revealed in a recent interview with Extra how a love note inevitably helped sustain their wedded bliss.
He detailed some of the steps he took to get the couple’s relationship back on track during its tainted years. After finding God, Phil Robertson said his worldview and marriage dramatically changed. But he also spoke about how a short note he once wrote played a big role in helping maintain his now-strong relationship with Miss Kay.
Phil Robertson admitted that his bad behavior once put in jeopardy his 47-year marriage to Miss Kay
Phil Robertson told Extra’s Maria Menounos that the note originated long ago when his wife asked him if he loved her.
“I said yes and she said, <<Write it down>>. So I scribbled, <<Miss Kay, I love you. I always have and I always will>>,” he explained.
That note is still taped over the couple’s headboard, serving as a daily reminder to them both.
So, despite their on-screen love, like any married couple, Phil and Miss Kay Robertson have had their share of fights and problems.
Along the way, they hit some speed bumps.
[youtube jBibwSjyS6k 650]
“He had about 10 hard years,” Miss Kay Robertson told Maria Menounos of the troubles they experienced.
“He didn’t act nice like he does now, especially when he was drinking. He was real selfish and didn’t want to be responsible.”
Phil Robertson chimed in an added that his behavior came at a time “when there was no Jesus” in his life.
“I was following the ways of the world. I was raised in the ’60s,” he said.
The popularity of Duck Dynasty has migrated out of the duck blind and into home furnishings, among other things.
Jackson Furniture debuted its Duck Dynasty upholstery collection at the Fall High Point Furniture Market.
Tennessee-based Jackson Furniture presented more than 25 pieces including recliners, pullout sofas, club chairs and ottomans covered in Realtree camouflage and duck design camo.

Furniture snobs may find the line curious, even frightening, but fans of the show and cabin owners will be drawn like ducks to a call. The recliners will range in price from $499 to $699.
The Robertson family’s multimillion-dollar empire is based on duck calls for hunters as well as deer calls and accessories under the Buck Commander label. Duck Commander is the best-selling brand in the country.
Duck Commander is the nickname of its founder, patriarch Phil Robertson, who played quarterback with Terry Bradshaw at Louisiana Tech University and turned down the NFL draft to follow his passion, duck hunting. Phil Robertson and his wife, Miss Kay, and their four sons are all featured on the show.
Macy’s has revealed the lineup for its 87th Annual Thanksgiving Day which includes everything from circus acts to singers, Broadway to Duck Dynasty cast.
The bearded Robertson family from the wildly popular A&E show, which chronicles a business that makes products for duck hunters, will appear at the parade as well as Ariana Grande, Kristin Chenoweth, Jimmy Fallon, Fall Out Boy and numerous other acts.

Hosts Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie of Today show will introduce rock acts including Fall Out Boy, Goo Goo Dolls and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, the network said. Both the Big Apple Circus and Cirque du Soleil will be on hand, as well as performers as disparate as the Cherokee National Youth Choir and Richard Simmons. Others include the Muppet family of Sesame Street.
The first hour of the 9 a.m.-to-noon telecast will feature Carrie Underwood and members of the cast of NBC’s The Sound of Music Live!. Following tradition, the Radio City Rockettes will perform, and cast members of Broadway musicals will sing selections from Matilda, Motown: The Musical and other shows.
Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas album, which was released this week, features the bearded Louisiana clan singing traditional Christmas carols and duck-themed songs in the latest addition to their stable of merchandise.
The album, in which the family showcase their work on the squawking duck calls that have made their Duck Commander company leaders in the hunting industry, will also be a test of how the unlikely TV stars can compete head-to-head against Christmas albums by country music’s perennial million-sellers Kelly Clarkson and Trace Adkins.
Willie Robertson, Duck Commander’s chief executive, is not counting on music being a full-time gig for the Duck Dynasty crew, who have also parlayed the A&E Network’s series into a merchandise lines sold at big-box retailers like Wal-Mart and Sears.
“We’re not aspiring to be country music stars,” Willie Robertson said in an interview about the album, which was produced by Nashville hitmaker Buddy Cannon.
“When we first went in the studio with Buddy we didn’t know what was going to happen, but we are very proud of the album,” he said.
Critics ascribe its success to fact that the Robertsons are seen as a regular family, and viewers can compare their quirks and eccentricities to their own family members.

Duck Dynasty reality show has also spawned diverse merchandise, from sporting goods and apparel to the unusual antibacterial bandages and camouflage reclining furniture. A&E’s online store has more than 300 Duck Dynasty products.
The Robertson family also got a little help on the album from country stars such as Luke Bryan, George Strait and Alison Krauss, who lent their voices to some tracks.
The album includes a few novelties from the long-bearded, camouflage-wearing hunting enthusiasts from West Monroe, Louisiana, along with traditionals, including I’ll Be Home for Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
“It is definitely from our perspective of a down-home middle-America Christmas,” Willie Robertson said.
“There is some funny stuff and then there is some serious stuff.”
Willie Robertson even had a hand in writing a few of the songs, including Ragin’ Cajun Redneck Christmas with top Nashville songwriter Dallas Davidson.
Led by Phil Robertson, his sons and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, wife Miss Kay and brother Si, sing and toot their duck calls on songs like Duck the Halls and Camouflage and Christmas Lights.
Although a strong starting position on the Billboard 200 album chart next week would cement the national appeal of the family’s personas, do not expect them to be quacking about the album after November 23.

After recently selling a half-hour comedy to CBS, Channing Tatum is now going to be executive producing a reality pilot for A&E.
The hour-long docuseries would revolve around Saints & Sinners, the New Orleans nightclub Channing Tatum opened last year with his friend and business partner Keith Kurtz.
Modeled after New Orleans’ Storyville era, Saints & Sinners’ motto is: “Where the red light is always on.”
Variety magazine reported: “The project is currently in the pilot stage at A&E, and hails from Tatum’s 33andOut Prods. and Original Media. Tatum and Kurtz will exec produce the show alongside Original’s Charlie Corwin. It is unclear whether Tatum will appear in the show.
“Should the burlesque club docuseries be picked up by A&E, it would join the cabler’s slate of unscripted programs including <<Duck Dynasty>>, the <<Storage Wars>> franchise, and <<American Hoggers>>.”

Si Robertson dressed up as a beaver for the Halloween celebration on Duck Dynasty’s season finale.
“Look, it ain’t about the costume,” Uncle Si insisted.
“It’s about the attitude.”
“You’re telling me that if you saw a beaver the size of a man, that that would not scare you?” Si Robertson said looking straight into the camera.

“Buck teeth the size of your head? One chomp, he’d bite your right arm off.”
But when his nephew Willie Robertson, who dressed as Freddy Krueger, failed to see the sinister side of Uncle Si’s creature feature, what with it lacking any blood, Si warned him to be patient.
“That’ll come later when I eat a kid,” he smiled.

Duck Dynasty has spawned its own mobile game app called Duck Dynasty: Battle of the Beards.
Available in the App Store, the game enables fans to occupy the “redneck” universe of the rough-and-tumble Robertson family in the backwoods of Louisiana.
The goal for players is to transform from a clean-shaven yuppie type into a duck-hunting man’s man with a mega beard.
Duck Dynasty has spawned its own mobile game app called Battle of the Beards
In addition to duck hunting, the game allows players to “eat chilies, blow up beaver dams and compete in sets of rapid-fire micro-games that test players’ reflexes and drop them feet first into the Louisiana backwoods. As players successfully complete the challenges, their beards grow to epic proportions and they start to transform from a yuppie into a full-blown redneck!”.
Duck Dynasty is currently the most-watched nonfiction cable show ever.
The reality show chronicles the unusual life of Robertson family that earned a fortune by making duck-hunting products, in particular a duck call named Duck Commander.
Duck Dynasty premiered in March 2012, and by the time Season 3 wrapped, it scored 9.8 million viewers. Season 4 went on to premiere to 11.8 million viewers.
Duck Dynasty stars celebrated this year’s Halloween at their Duck Commander scarehouse with the show’s Season Finale.
“We’re going to turn the warehouse into the SCAREhouse,” declared Korie Robertson.
Most of the crew was excited about hosting the trick or treat festival, but Jase Robertson had his reservations.
“Let me guess, by <<we>>, you mean <<us>>,” said Jase.
“Exactly,” smiled Korie Robertson.
“I want this thing to be killer,” said Willie Robertson, holding a bloodied plastic arm.
“No pun intended.”
Jase Robertson was not particularly enthused about the idea of wearing a costume–or about Halloween in general.
“I’ve never really understood why people get so excited about dressing up during Halloween,” groused Jase Robertson.
“Let’s just call Halloween what it is–a weird fashion show for candy.”
As the Duck Dynasty crew got to work building a maze for the haunted house, they started debating what movie was the scariest of all time.
Jase Robertson declared his favorite to be the classic 1978 slasher flick, “Halloween.”
“There’s something about a man with a mask and a butcher knife,” he explained.
“Yeah, I watched that one with my eyes closed,” noted John Godwin.
Duck Dynasty stars celebrated this year’s Halloween at their Duck Commander scarehouse
“I like Freddy Cougar,” added Uncle Si, misnaming Freddy Krueger.
“Now, he’s scary. I’m talking about–hey–Freddy Cougar, the scariest movie of all. Hey, look–the guy comes you at you when you’re asleep. That scares me, because I sleep a lot.”
Jep Robertson had a different definition of terror.
“That movie <<Ghost>>, that was scary horror movie,” declared Jep Robertson.
“You mean that movie that Whoppi Goldberg was in?” asked Jase Robertson incredulously.
“That’s not a horror movie.”
“That was a chick flick,” added John Godwin.
“Yeah, but it was still scary,” said Jase Robertson, defensively.
Meanwhile, back at the Robertson compound, Miss Kay was busy in the kitchen, decorating cupcakes and telling ghost stories to the grandchildren.
Phil Robertson tried to sample some of Miss Kay’s baked goods, but was swatted away.
“No, no sir,” chided Miss Kay Robertson.
“This is for people who participate in Halloween. No dress-up, no cup cakes.”
It seemed that Phil and Jase Robertson share similar feelings about the spooky holiday.
“Well, I’m not much into All Hallows’ Eve, or Halloween as they call it,” explained Phil Robertson.
“Pagan holidays, not my particular cup of tea. But throw a bunch of cup cakes into the mix, and hey–I can suffer through it for a day or two. But trust me–I’m not into it.”
Phil Robertson did, however, seem to be into carving pumpkins.
Leading the kids to an outdoor picnic table, Phil Robertson instructed his grandchildren to treat the pulpy orange squash as if it was a freshly killed mallard duck.
“Gutting a duck is a particular skill that every man, woman and child should know,” he said.
“Of course, it’s not duck season yet, but we do have plenty of pumpkins.”
Phil Robertson attacks a pumpkin with particular skill and flair.
“Anything that involves a lot of knife work, that’s a good thing,” he explained, as he mimicked a series of quick slashing motions.
“River rat Benihana’s.”
After successfully carving a jack-o-lantern, his grandkids were not impressed.
“More scary,” one pleaded.
“A beard,” suggested another.
“You want a beard on him, I’ll give you a beard on him,” Phil Robertson told the children, squarely aiming his shotgun at the defenseless squash.
After the gourd splattered everywhere, Phil Robertson was satisfied.
“Now, that is how you carve a pumpkin.”
Back at the SCAREhouse, the kids had a frightful time, being spooked by a condemned John Godwin in an electric chair, zombie teenagers and Uncle Si dressed as a giant, crazed beaver.
After failing to scare anyone in his Freddy Cougar–um, Krueger–outfit, Willie Robertson reflected on the importance of unity.
“Halloween is awesome for many reasons. Of course, there’s the candy, dressing up in non-matching outfits and you can’t forget scaring the crap out of little kids. But the best part of Halloween is that everyone gets to come together–not just as family, but as a community. Young and old, friends and neighbors, all together in the name of good fun–and candy.”
Duck Dynasty Season 4 is over and A&E will air a very special one-hour holiday program on December 5 entitled, I’m Dreaming of a Redneck Christmas..
A new Duck Dynasty game for mobile devices called Battle of the Beards, and is available at the iTunes store for iPhones ($.99) and iPads ($1.99).
A carefully crafted scarecrow modeled to look like Duck Dynasty’s Si Robertson was stolen and burnt by a Georgia teenager.
The teenager was arrested for the theft of the scarecrow, which was constructed by a group of parents of fourth graders at Ball Ground Elementary School.
The Robertson-themed scarecrow was a popular entry in the area’s first scarecrow contest.
City Manager Eric Wilmarth told the Cherokee Tribune that the teen who stole the scarecrow was from Canton, Georgia.
“He was just passing through downtown Ball Ground and thought Uncle Si was pretty cool and wanted him. [He] just didn’t think about the consequences, and I am sure didn’t think there would be so much publicity,” Eric Wilmarth said.
“The young man has expressed remorse – he is sorry for what he did – it’s just one of those things you can’t back up and undo.”
Si Robertson-themed scarecrow was constructed by a group of parents of fourth graders at Ball Ground Elementary School
The city initially offered a $1,000 reward for information about the scarecrow’s whereabouts.
Ball Ground Police Chief Bryon Reeves explained that the teen got nervous after stealing the scarecrow and decided to burn it to get rid of it.
Doug Knott, the principal of Ball Ground Elementary School, said the scarecrow will be missed.
“Long before Uncle Si’s disappearance and unfortunate demise, the Ball Ground community and all those who travel through the city had grown fond of this very life-like creation of this very popular figure from <<Duck Dynasty>> fame. Needless to say, Uncle Si the scarecrow was a popular figure long before the unfortunate events,” Doug Knott said.
Allison Martin, who created the Si Robertson scarecrow with three other moms, said it took more than 40 hours to craft the scarecrow.
“To begin with, we were kind of upset; the main reason we had done ‘Duck Dynasty’ was because of the background and their beliefs and we truly believe in them, and as a community we have to forgive,” Allison Martin told the Cherokee Tribune.
Allison Martin added that the parents were intending to remake the Duck Dynasty themed creation.
Duck Dynasty‘s stars revealed they are no fans of gun control, but there’s another kind of control they think the nation could use.
“It ain’t gun control we need; it’s sin control,” Si Robertson told Men’s Journal magazine in a group interview.
His brother, Phil Robertson, has another kind of control in mind.
“Self-control,” he added.
The bearded bayou clan’s show has been a hit, and they’re not afraid to speak out about their feelings on religion and politics, though the show plays those down.
“We’re trying to infuse a little good into a culture in which gentleness, patience, kindness, self-control, love, joy and peace have become abnormal,” Phil Robertson told the magazine.
“I go out into America and I am literally navigating a minefield. Godliness has become abnormal.”
Duck Dynasty‘s stars revealed they are no fans of gun control, but there’s another kind of control they think the nation could use
Duck Dynasty show has brought Robertson family big bucks – the magazine reports they’re rumored to earn $200,000 each per episode – but they claim it hasn’t changed them.
“This place is probably worth $100,000,” Phil Robertson told the magazine about his Louisiana home.
“But I consider it a mansion.”
Duck Dynasty stars admit they’re not perfect. Si Robertson was drafted during the Vietnam War and remembers those days as especially rebellious.
“I kept a fifth of whiskey in my pocket everywhere I went,” he told Men’s Journal.
“I tried dope one time, OK, like marijuana, but why would you smoke something that makes you feel 100 years old? So, drugs wasn’t it for me. In my mind, it was alcohol and whoring around.”
Miss Kay Robertson was just 16 and pregnant when they wed in 1966, but even the fans who want him to sign their panties can’t sway him from her side.
“They walk up with a pair of little bitty, bitty bikini underwear and say, <<Will you sign these?>>” Phil Robertson said.
“Well, my first question is, <<Are they clean?>>. But, see, as I move forward on my travels, I make sure I take two things with me, my Bible and my woman, Miss Kay. You see what I’m saying? I’ve put my heathen days behind me. I’m not going down that path again.”
