Eunice Huthart, former Hollywood stunt double, has sued News Corp, accusing the company of hacking into her phone.

The suit, the first such claim from the US, was filed by the former double for Hollywood star Angelina Jolie.

In the suit, the Liverpool resident alleges messages from family, friends and Angelina Jolie were intercepted and in some cases deleted.

News Corp did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

In a civil complaint filed on June 13, Eunice Huthart seeks damages for violations of federal and California laws and “intrusion into private affairs”.

According to IMDb, Eunice Huthart worked as Angelina Jolie’s stunt double on the films Wanted, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

In the court filing, she describes herself as a close friend of Angelina Jolie, and says the pair “often travelled and socialized together”.

Eunice Huthart said that in 2004-05, some friends and relatives complained she had not returned their phone calls, and she in turn complained to her mobile phone provider that voice messages were being lost in their system.

She said Angelina Jolie left messages concerning travel arrangements and other plans, which Eunice Huthart never received.

She added that her daughter left messages complaining about bullying in school in Liverpool, which she also never received – rendering her unable to console her daughter.

Eunice Huthart said her husband had also criticized her for not responding to his messages.

She says her name, telephone number and other private information appeared in the notes of Glenn Mulcaire, the private investigator who worked for the News of the World and was jailed in January 2007 for unlawfully intercepting voicemail messages received by royal aides.

Eunice Huthart “believes that they were hacking her cellular telephone as a means to obtain information about Ms Jolie”, says the court filing.

According to the suit, The Sun newspaper published several news stories based on information illicitly obtained from Eunice Huthart’s mobile phone messages.

Angelina Jolie opted to miss her aunt’s funeral so she could jet to the UK to support Brad Pitt at the premiere of his new movie World War Z, making her first appearance on the red carpet since revealing double mastectomy.

Angelina Jolie, 37, kept to her promise and was one of the big names who walked the special black carpet at the event.

The actress opted to co-ordinate with her man as they both arrived to rapturous claps and screams, both wearing matching black.

Angelina Jolie wore a floorlength Yves St Laurent dress, while Brad Pitt looked dapper in a suit with a casual T-shirt underneath.

Just a few days ago it was revealed Angelina Jolie had chosen to miss her aunt’s funeral as it clashed with the premiere.

Angelina Jolie – who recently revealed she underwent a double mastectomy after she was identified as carrying the BRCA1 cancer gene – lost her aunt Debbie Martin, 61, last week following a battle with breast cancer. The actress said she cannot make the funeral in San Diego on Sunday June 2 because she will be in London.

Debbie Martin’s husband Ron told E! News ahead of the premiere: “We are making the final arrangements for the funeral as we speak. But we expect it to be this Sunday at noon at El Camino Memorial in Sorrento Valley near our home.

“Angelina will be in London on Sunday so she won’t be able to attend but she has been in touch with us and with various other members of the family, which has obviously been lovely and has meant a lot to us.”

And it seems Angelina Jolie is now fighting fit after making the difficult decision to undergo the operation.

Angelina Jolie, who oozed confidence at the bash, said she was “feeling great” as she walked the black carpet with Brad Pitt.

“I’m here for Brad. I’m so proud of him,” she said.

The actress said she was “proud” of the response to her article about cancer preventative surgery.

“If it did some good then I’m pleased,” Angelina Jolie said as she walked into the Empire cinema wearing a floor length Yves. St Laurent black silk gown.

The actress spent twenty minutes signing autographs. She joked: “I’m a director,” as she took cameras from fans and took their photographs and video shots.

One fan handed her a fluffy teddy and later she gave it to Sophie Martinez, aged 4, who promptly burst into tears.

“It’s a nice teddy,” Angelina Jolie told her soothingly.

Sophie Martinez’s parents Douglas and Tatiana, Brazilian students living in Putney, said they were so touched by Angelina Jolie’s gesture towards their daughter.

Jessica Chastain, however, skipped the carpet to attend the film. She and Brad Pitt were in The Tree of Life together.

Brad Pitt told BBC News as he spoke ahead of the screening: “I think it’s pretty much the most intense film you’re going to see all summer.”

The night before, on Saturday, Brad Pitt made an impromptu visit to the first preview screening of World War Z in one of the Empire’s smaller screening auditoriums.

He told the audience: “This has been a long time coming.”

Brad Pitt was clearly referring to the film’s problematic production with costs rumored to be in the two hundred million dollar plus range.

He added: “I’m willing to bet that this is the most intense film you’ve seen all summer.”

Debbie Martin, Angelina Jolie’s aunt, has died of breast cancer, nearly two weeks after the Hollywood star said she had had a double mastectomy to avoid such a fate.

Debbie Martin passed away at the Palomar Medical Centre in Escondido on Sunday, aged 61, the hospital said.

She was the sister of Angelina Jolie’s mother Marcheline Bertrand, who died of breast cancer in 2007 at the age of 56.

Her husband, Ron Martin, said the sisters had both had the same mutated BRCA1 gene, which Angelina Jolie inherited.

“Angelina has been in touch throughout the week and her brother Jamie has been with us, giving his support day by day,” Ron Martin told E! News.

“They both loved Debbie very much and although Angie is not able to come right now she has sent her love and support which was very nice.”

Ron Martin also praised Angelina Jolie for electing to have a double mastectomy, telling the Associated Press: “Had we known, we certainly would have done exactly what Angelina did.”

On May 14, Angelina Jolie, 37, wrote in the New York Times that she had had a double mastectomy after doctors estimated she had an 87% risk of breast cancer and a 50% risk of ovarian cancer.

“I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could,” the actress explained, adding that her chances of developing breast cancer had now dropped to less than 5%.

The BRCA1 gene is present in everyone but only mutates in one in 1,000 people. Anyone with the mutation has a 50-80% chance of developing breast cancer.

Ann Curry reportedly failed to land the first interview with Angelina Jolie since the actress made headlines by announcing her voluntary double mastectomy.

NBC executives had been pressuring Ann Curry, 56, to secure the interview with Angelina Jolie, who Curry has interviewed in the past along with the actress’ partner Brad Pitt.

Angelina Jolie, 37, announced May 14 in an opinion piece in The New York Times that she had undergone a preventative double mastectomy after learning she had the faulty BRCA1 gene that gave her an 87% chance of breast cancer.

Ann Curry and Angelina Jolie reportedly have grown a close friendship as a result of their interviews over the years and the NBC brass was hoping to score an exclusive.

Angelina Jolie turned down Ann Curry as well as all other news outlets for the time being, according to the New York Post.

Ann Curry was fired from NBC’s Today show last year and Angelina Jolie made it clear that she wouldn’t consent to an interview with anyone at NBC except for Curry, who is now a correspondent for the network.

The NBC executives wanted Ann Curry to set up a two-hour primetime special with Angelina Jolie with parts airing on the Today show.

Ann Curry returned to live TV on Wednesday night for the first time since being axed from the Today show.

She filled in for anchor Brian Williams on the NBC Nightly News and showed off a new short hairdo.

Ann Curry’s shorter hair previously got her in trouble with her NBC bosses because she didn’t notify management that she was changing her appearance and it was viewed as an act of defiance.

Angelina Jolie made her stunning revelation in an op-ed piece titled My Medical Choice.

The actress outlined her reasons for getting the double mastectomy upon learning of her elevated risks for breast and ovarian cancers.

Angelina Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died at age 56 of ovarian cancer in 2007.

The actress said with her double mastectomy she can tell her six children that they won’t lose her to breast cancer.

Angelina Jolie also said she plans to have her ovaries removed to reduce her risk of ovarian cancer.

Brad Pitt has revealed he felt he was wasting his life on drugs while he was married to Jennifer Aniston.

In yet another blow to his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt makes it clear that before he met Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004, his life had little meaning.

Brad Pitt, 49, who has previously admitted to ma*****na use, was married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston for seven years until 2005.

In an interview with the new issue of Esquire magazine, brad Pitt says: “For a long time I thought I did too much damage – drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I followed that other thing. I spent years f***ing off.

“But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany.”

Brad Pitt also spoke about his decision to shrink his circle of friends he could spend as much time as possible with Angelina Jolie and their six children – Maddox, 11, Pax, 9, Zahara, 8, Shiloh, 6, and 4-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – and he has never been happier.

The actor admitted: “I have very few friends. I have a handful of close friends and I have my family and I haven’t known life to be any happier.

“I’m making things. I just haven’t known life to be any happier.”

Brad Pitt fully supported Angelina Jolie’s decision to have a double mastectomy in February after learning she had an 87% chance of developing breast cancer because she carries the BRCA1 gene mutation.

Angelina Jolie, 37, went ahead with the operation so she can be around for her kids and Brad Pitt insists they can be no better motivation as the couple love the ‘chaos’ of their big household and the bond they all share.

He explained: “I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big. I wanted there to be chaos in the house … there’s constant chatter in our house, whether it’s giggling or screaming or crying or banging.

“I love it. I love it. I love it. I hate it when they’re gone. I hate it. Maybe it’s nice to be in a hotel room for a day – <<Oh, nice, I can finally read a paper>>. But then, by the next day, I miss that cacophony, all that life.”

Brad Pitt graces the cover of the publication, and can be seen looking as hunky as ever in a black top and wrinkled jeans, with aviator sunglasses covering his face.

His trademark long golden hair flops around his shoulder as he casually grips a camera in one hand.

Brad Pitt praised Angelina Jolie as “heroic” after she published a piece in the New York Times revealing she had undergone the double mastectomy on Tuesday.

“We set up our own little post-op recovery that became pretty fun. You make an adventure out of it,” Brad Pitt later told USA Today.

“I’m quite emotional about it, of course,” the actor said.

“She could have stayed absolutely private about it and I don’t think anyone would have been none the wiser with such good results.

“But it was really important to her to share the story and that others would understand it doesn’t have to be a scary thing. In fact, it can be an
empowering thing, and something that makes you stronger and us stronger.”

Angelina Jolie will play her own mother in a biopic of the late actress Marcheline Bertrand, who died from ovarian cancer in 2007.

Angelina Jolie, 37, who last week revealed she had undergone a voluntary double mastectomy, will star in the film produced by Plan B, the production company set up by devoted partner Brad Pitt.

Like her daughter, Marcheline Bertrand devoted herself to humanitarian causes, including helping women Afghan refugees and launching the Give Love Give Life organization to help fight gynaecological cancers.

When Marcheline Bertrand died from ovarian cancer aged just 56, it came as a huge loss to the talented actress, who has much in common with her mother.

But just a few years later, those similarities took on a more sinister tone when Angelina discovered she had inherited the faulty BRCA1 gene.

Doctors told the mother-of-six that she had an 87% chance of developing breast cancer and a 50% chance of ovarian cancer as a result of the gene.

Angelina Jolie then elected to undergo a double mastectomy, a decision Brad Pitt described as “heroic”.

He said: “Having witnessed this decision first hand, I find Angie’s choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic.

“I thank our medical team for their care and focus.

“All I want for is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children.

“This is a happy day for our family.”

Angelina Jolie has announced she also now plans to have a hysterectomy and oophorectomy, where the ovaries are removed to further decrease her chances of developing cancer.

She said: “I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer was higher than my risk of ovarian cancer and the surgery is much more complex.”

The procedure would rule out any further children for her and 49-year-old Brad Pitt. They already have three biological children: daughter Shiloh and four-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

They are also parents to their adopted children Maddox, 11, Pax, 9 and 8-year-old Zahara.

Marcheline Bertrand, who was raised in Illinois by a French-Canadian father, married Midnight Cowboy star Jon Voight when she was a 21-year-old actress.

After the births of son James in 1973 and Angelina in 1975, she quit her acting career.

However, she and Jon Voight split in 1976 due to his infidelity.

Angelina Jolie grew up to be a wild teenager, and her mother was no disciplinarian, permitting the 14-year-old Angelina to bring her boyfriend to live in their home.

Marcheline Bertrand was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1999, the same year as Angelina Jolie’s Hollywood breakthrough in the film Girl, Interrupted.

Marcheline Bertrand’s final wishes were said to be that Angelina Jolie would marry Brad Pitt, and she chose the name Pax, which Angelina gave to the Cambodian boy she adopted six weeks after her mother’s death.

Marcheline Bertrand is also remembered in the middle name of her granddaughter Vivienne.

Writing in the New York Times last week, Angelina Jolie paid an emotional tribute to her mother.

She wrote: “My mother fought cancer and died at 56.

“She held out long enough to meet the first of her grandchildren and to hold them in her arms.

“But my other children will never have the chance to know her and experience how loving and gracious she was.”

New reports reveal that Angelina Jolie is now planning to have her ovaries removed, following a double mastectomy after discovering she’s a carrier of the BRCA1 gene.

Angelina Jolie, 37, made the brave decision to have three months of secret procedures after being told she had an 87% chance of contracting breast cancer.

Now, the actress is said to already be planning her next surgery – the removal of both her ovaries – as the gene means she has a 50% chance of developing ovarian cancer.

According to People magazine, Angelina Jolie is likely to have the next procedures before she turns 40, as doctors recommend having the surgery done after child-bearing age.

After the surgery, Angelina Jolie will no longer be able to have biological children, although she still has the option to adopt.

Angelina Jolie and her fiancé Brad Pitt currently have three biological children, Shiloh, 6, and 4-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, and three adopted children, Maddox, 11, Pax, nine, Zahara, 8.

The View host Barbara Walters revealed on the show on Tuesday that she had both of her ovaries removed after her sister died from ovarian cancer.

Barbara Walters explained: “It’s not like having the breasts removed because people don’t see it. But it’s a decision you have to make – it’s preventative.”

Angelina Jolie’s decision to remove her ovaries will likely be fuelled by the fact that she lost her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, to ovarian cancer at the age of 56.

Marcheline Bertrand died in January 2007 after an 8-year battle with the disease.

Prior to her passing, Marcheline Bertrand founded a charity called Give Love Give Life which spread awareness of the condition.

Angelina Jolie’s mother and her colleagues at the charity also successfully campaigned for Johanna’s Law to fund education into gynecological illnesses and got it signed into statute in the US.

Jane Pitt has paid tribute to her soon to be daughter-in-law Angelina Jolie for her brave decision of having a preventive double mastectomy, even though there have long been rumors that relations between herself and Angelina are strained.

In a touching statement, Jane Pitt said she is “proud” of Angelina Jolie, 37, for having the surgery in order to ensure she is alive to watch her children grow up.

“We’re so very proud of Angie, this means so much to out family especially our grandchildren,” said Brad Pitt’s mother in a statement to People magazine.

“We love her dearly.”

Between early February and late April Angelina Jolie completed three months of surgical procedures to remove both breasts after being advised she was at a high risk of developing breast cancer.

Having watched her mother die at the age of 56 from ovarian cancer, ten years after developing the disease, Angelina Jolie was determined to ensure she had the best chance of avoiding the same fate.

Her brother James Haven also made a statement paying tribute to Angelina Jolie.

“My sister like our mother always put her children first,” he said.

“I am so grateful to be her brother.”

Jon Voight, Angelina Jolie’s father, revealed he learned about her preventive double mastectomy on the internet along with the rest of the world.

Jon Voight, 74, who reconciled with Angelina Jolie after a 10 year feud in 2011 praised his “extraordinary” daughter but was understandably surprised – especially as he had seen Angelina just one day before her announcement in the New York Times.

“My love and admiration for my daughter can’t be explained in words,” the actor told the New York Daily News.

“I saw her two days ago with my son Jamie. We all got together for his birthday, with her and Brad [Pitt]. But I didn’t know. It wasn’t obvious at all.

“I found out [Tuesday] morning. I was as surprised as anyone and deeply moved by the way she’s handled this. She’s a very extraordinary person, the way she examined it and what she shared.”

Angelina Jolie made the decision to have the surgery after learning she is a carrier of the BRCA1 gene and had an 87% chance of contracting breast cancer and a 50% risk of getting ovarian cancer.

She continued working throughout three months of procedures and kept them a secret from everyone other than her fiancé Brad Pitt, who was seen leaving a Hollywood studio on Tuesday, and their six children.

Jon Voight says he “absolutely” respects Angelina Jolie’s choice to keep her decision from him for that time.

“I completely understand,” the actor explained.

“I want the focus to be on the inspiration.”

Jon Voight revealed he spoke to Angelina Jolie on Tuesday and she talked him through what it all means.

“She just explained to me and educated me on this stuff,” he said.

Jon Voight fell out with Angelina Jolie in 2002 when he accused her of having “serious mental problems”, while Angelina criticized him for having an affair behind her mother’s back.

It was Angelina Jolie’s fiancé Brad Pitt who eventually engineered their reconciliation and acted as a go-between.

Speaking in October 2011 Jon Voight claimed he’d had an emotional epiphany and that he began living for his family after everything changed “in a moment”.

“I suddenly saw things differently and everything shifted. That one moment changed my whole life,” he said.

“It gave me back my daughter and my family. Being reunited with my Angie is very precious to me. I adore my grandchildren, they are my great love. It makes me so emotional and grateful.”

Angelina Jolie underwent a double mastectomy after learning she had an 87% chance of contracting breast cancer, but despite the stress put on her own body, her main concern was maintaining a sense of normality for her and fiancé Brad Pitt’s six children.

A source has revealed that Angelina Jolie, 37, did everything within her power to ensure the couple’s children, Maddox, 11, Pax, 9, Zahara, 8, Shiloh, 6, and 4-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, led normal lives as their mother underwent three months of secret operations.

The source told People.com: “Things have appeared normal. The kids have kept their schedules as usual. They have been in school during the day and have attended after-school activities like they always do.”

Angelina Jolie made the brave decision to have the procedure after doctors told her she was a carrier of the BRCA1 cancer gene.

The news was made all the more personal by the fact that Angelina Jolie lost her mother Marcheline Bertrand to ovarian cancer when she was just 56.

Revealing her decision to have the surgery in the New York Times, Angelina Jolie said it was the support of her six children and fiancé Brad Pitt which got her through the three months of secret procedures.

In the editorial piece in the New York Times entitled My Medical Choice, Angelina Jolie wrote: “I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive. So to anyone who has a wife or girlfriend going through this, know that you are a very important part of the transition. Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries.

“We managed to find moments to laugh together. We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has.”

Brad Pitt, 49, later released his own statement praising his “heroic Angie” following her difficult decision.

In a statement to London’s Evening Standard, Brad Pitt said: “Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie’s choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic. I thank our medical team for their care and focus.

“All I want for is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family.”

Angelina Jolie also revealed she is proud of her children for being so brave during her operations, which began on February 16th with the initial removal, before she had the reconstruction operation on April 20th.

The brave actress writes: “It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that’s it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was. And they know that I love them and will do anything to be with them as long as I can.”

Following the operations, Angelina Jolie’s risk of contracting breast cancer has now dropped to under 5%.

Angelina Jolie has revealed she has had a preventative double mastectomy after doctors estimated she had an 87% chance of contracting breast cancer.

Angelina Jolie, 37, made the decision to undergo the procedure after learning that she is a carrier of the BRCA1 cancer gene.

Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died at the age of 56 from ovarian cancer, which Angelina Jolie revealed she has a 50% chance of contracting.

Writing in an editorial piece in the New York Times, Angelina Jolie said: “My doctors estimated that I had an 87% risk of breast cancer and a 50% risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman.

“Only a fraction of breast cancers result from an inherited gene mutation. Those with a defect in BRCA1 have a 65% risk of getting it, on average.

“Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy.

“I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer is higher than my risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex.

“On April 27, I finished the three months of medical procedures that the mastectomies involved. During that time I have been able to keep this private and to carry on with my work.”

Angelina Jolie’s surgery was successful and doctors say her chances of developing breast cancer have now lowered to less than 5%.

“I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy,” she wrote.

“But it is one I am very happy that I made.

“My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent. I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.”

Angelina Jolie praised the support her fiancé Brad Pitt and their children, Maddox, 11, Pax, 9, Zahara, 8, Shiloh, 6, and 4-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, gave her during treatment.

“It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that’s it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was. And they know that I love them and will do anything to be with them as long as I can.

“I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive.

Angelina Jolie assured that having the double mastectomy hasn’t changed the way she feels about herself and her womanliness, and added that results of reconstructive surgery “can be beautiful”.

“On a personal note, I do not feel any less of a woman,” she said.

“I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity.”

In addition, Angelina Jolie hopes that she can encourage other women to be informed and consider their options.

“I am writing about it now because I hope that other women can benefit from my experience. Cancer is still a word that strikes fear into people’s hearts, producing a deep sense of powerlessness.

“But today it is possible to find out through a blood test whether you are highly susceptible to breast and ovarian cancer, and then take action.”

Angelina Jolie added: “For any woman reading this, I hope it helps you to know you have options. I want to encourage every woman, especially if you have a family history of breast or ovarian cancer, to seek out the information and medical experts who can help you through this aspect of your life, and to make your own informed choices.

“I choose not to keep my story private because there are many women who do not know that they might be living under the shadow of cancer. It is my hope that they, too, will be will able to get gene tested, and that if they have a high risk they, too, will know that they have strong options.

“Life comes with many challenges. The ones that should not scare us are the ones we can take on and take control of. “
February 2nd – Angelina Jolie begins three months of treatments prior to undergoing a preventative double mastectomy, starting with a “nipple delay, which rules out disease in the breast ducts behind the nipple and draws extra blood flow to the area”.

February 16th – The actress undergoes the major surgery – an 8-hour operation which sees the breast tissue removed before temporary fillers are put in place.

April 4th – Angelina Jolie attends the Women in the World Summit in New York looking in good spirits.

April 11th – Angelina Jolie is pictured with William Hague at the G8 Summit in London.

April 20th – Angelina Jolie has her breasts reconstructed with implants

April 27th – The mother-of-six completes the medical process. She is told that the surgery was a success and her chances of contracting breast cancer have now been reduced from 87% to less than 5%

May 14th – Angelina Jolie reveals her decision in an editorial piece published in the New York Times newspaper.

WHAT IS PREVENTATIVE MASTECTOMY?

Preventive mastectomy is the surgical removal of one or both breasts. It is done to prevent or reduce the risk of breast cancer in women who are at high risk of developing the disease.

In a total mastectomy, doctors remove the entire breast and nipple, while in a subcutaneous mastectomy, the doctor removes the breast tissue but leaves the nipple intact.

Existing data suggests that the treatment may significantly reduce the chances of developing tumors by about 90%.

Many choose to have breast reconstruction to restore the shape of the breast following surgery.

Angelina Jolie’s scraped back hairdo revealed her abundance of grey hairs as she made an appearance at the G8 Foreign Ministers Summit in London on Thursday.

Angelina Jolie, the UN’s special envoy for refugees, was dressed in all black, with a simple dress and overcoat to attend the high level summit at where she spoke out against sexual violence against women and children in war zones.

The star accessorized her conservative look with a simple strand of pearls and matching earrings.

Angelina Jolie’s presence at the conference no doubt shined a much needed spotlight on the cause.

The Human Rights and Communications team at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office tweeted part of the actress’s speech.

Angelina Jolie said: “Hundreds of thousands of women and children have been sexually assaulted in the wars of our generation. But wartime rape is not inevitable.

“This violence can be prevented, and it must be confronted. I have heard survivors of rape from Bosnia to (the Congo) say that the world simply does not care about them.

“But today I believe that their voices have been heard, and that we finally have some hope to offer them.”

The actress continued: “It is encouraging to see men in leadership positions speaking out against rape. Rape is not a women’s issue, or a humanitarian issue, it is a global issue.”

Angelina Jolie and the UN special representative on sexual violence in conflict, Zanab Bangora, met with G8 foreign ministers as part of the two-day talks among eight world powers that are expected to focus on North Korea and the civil war in Syria.

Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head by the Taliban in October in retribution for her advocacy for girls’ education.

The teenager now attends school in Birmingham, UK, following her recovery from the shooting and has signed a book deal worth about $3 million for her memoir.

The book, titled I am Malala, is scheduled for publication in the autumn.

“Announcing the first grant of the Malala Fund is the happiest moment in my life,” Malala Yousafzai said in a video message at the Women in the World conference in New York.

“I invite all of you to support the Malala Fund and let us turn the education of 40 girls into 40 million girls.”

Malala Yousafzai started school again in mid-March following surgery to fit a titanium plate and cochlear implant into her skull.

While there is no news that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have in fact already tied the knot, it appears that she had merely exchanged the jewellery for her official UN work duties.

In fact Angelina Jolie had completely pared back her look for her arrival, wearing a very plain black suit and billowing black T-shirt.

The actress accessorized the conservative look with some leather loafers and several other pieces of simple gold jewellery.

She also wore her hair tied back into a basic ponytail.

According to USA Today, Angelina Jolie is in the African country acting as a representative for the UN’s refugee agency.

The National Enquirer claims Angelina Jolie recently “told an astonished Brad that her former flame, Irish actor Colin Farrell, put him to shame between the sheets.”

“In a dig designed to push Brad Pitt’s buttons, Angelina Jolie insulted his manhood, and the devastated actor has gone on a drunken rampage!” declares the National Enquirer, an outlet whose reporting on the couple tends to alternate between despicable and nonsensical.

Her “sex confession” allegedly sent Brad Pitt into a “boozy tailspin,” allege sources for the Enquirer.

“Brad caught Angie red-handed, admitting that she thinks he’s a so-so lover,” says one insider for the facts-challenged tabloid.

The National Enquirer “source” continues: “Ever since then, he’s been on a drunken rampage – consuming copious amounts of his favorite beer and red wine.”

According to the magazine, Brad Pitt was “even spotted staggering up to a Taco Bell drive-thru window” at 1 a.m. last month, with an alleged “eyewitness” claiming the actor “looked drunk, and after he realized the fast-food joint was closed, he stumbled off into the early morning darkness.”

In any case, the tabloid insists that a booze-addled Brad Pitt has been on an extended bender ever since he allegedly first heard Angelina Jolie complaining about her sex life during a phone call with ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton.

“Angie told Billy Bob that her love life with Brad had gone cold, and she missed the wild, passionate sex she’d had with Colin,” says the Enquirer source.

The Enquirer goes on to explain how an enraged, eavesdropping Brad Pitt confronted Angelina Jolie and forced her to admit details of her supposed sex life with Colin Farrell, and that she still “lusts” for him, resulting in Pitt’s extended “drunken rage.”

The tabloid also claims that Brad Pitt is allegedly outraged over everything from Angelina Jolie’s eighth-grade “hookup” to her non-existent “plans to reunite” with Billy Bob Thornton.

With golden shoulder length hair, a sophisticated black suit and aviator sunglasses, Knox Jolie-Pitt appears to be the spitting image of his famous father, Brad Pitt.

Knox Jolie-Pitt, 4, and his parents, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and twin sister, Vivienne, spent the day at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles.

The boy walked with his dad – also in black – looking like his mini-me while mum Angelina Jolie held his twin Vivienne’s hand behind.

The foursome were rather dressed up for a trip down the educational halls of evolution and culture, but obviously Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt hoped to impart a love of learning onto their kids on Valentine’s Day.

The coterie of officers and advisers surrounding General David Petraeus had become suspicious of Paula Broadwell, now known to have been his mistress, due to her playful Facebook status updates they claim disclosed sensitive details of military operations in Afghanistan.

Paula Broadwell, the woman who penned David Petraeus’s biography and ultimately began a romantic relationship with the married 60-year-old, became a cause of concern back in 2009 when those in Petraeus’ inner circle saw her lighthearted postings on the social networking website.

Though Paula Broadwell was a West Point graduate and had served in Army intelligence, officers, unaware at the time of the extramarital liaison, thought she should have used better judgement and now see her inappropriate behavior in a new light – in the wake of the former CIA Director’s fall from grace.

Though hindsight is always 20/20, former David Petraeus aides told the Washington Post that Paula Broadwell’s behavior at the time seemed odd and her closeness to the notoriously straight-laced family man was not without controversy.

Without any specific examples of her Facebook postings, aides said they were stunned that Paula Broadwell was so free to describe her daily movements in Afghanistan on the networking site, so her friends back home could chronicle her adventures.

Another social media no-no occurred when Paula Broadwell posted a picture to her Facebook page of David Petraeus with actress Angelina Jolie, that had been captured at his 7th floor office at CIA headquarters, where only the official agency photographer is allowed.

It is believed David Petraeus had given the picture to Paula Broadwell but the break with protocol was uncharacteristic for someone in his position.

Officers have also revealed their shock at her frequent trips to Afghanistan to interview David Petraeus and the access she was granted to the Chief of Central Command, the role he assumed in 2008.

Others were having said to be unimpressed with her style and lack of journalistic know-how.

“Her credentials didn’t add up,” an unnamed former staff member, who had been interviewed by Paula Broadwell for her book All In: The Education of General David Petraeus, told the Washington Post.

“I was underwhelmed. It was surprising to me that she was his official biographer.”

Peter Mansoor, a former executive officer on David Petraeus’ staff, also told the Post that he found it “strange” that David Petraeus put so much trust in Paula Broadwell’s abilities.

“My gosh, if you are going to have someone interview everyone who has ever touched you in your life, choose someone who has written a biography or at least a history book,” he said.

Additionally, in the conservative culture of Kabul, aides said Paula Broadwell wore tight shirts and pants to display her figure to the best advantage.

“She was seemingly immune to the notion of modesty in this part of the world,” a general who served under David Petraeus in Afghanistan said.

But many who worked in close quarters with David Petraeus have said that few would have given credence to rumors of a torrid affair, given Petraeus’ solid reputation.

The sex scandal has only just come to light after Paula Broadwell, who is married with two young sons, allegedly accessed the general’s email account to send threatening emails to Jill Kelley, whom she accused of getting too close to him.

Paula Broadwell allegedly told the other paramour, believed to be an unpaid social liaison officer to military headquarters – Jill Kelley – to “back off” and “stay away” from the retired general in email communication uncovered by the FBI.

It has been claimed that Paula Broadwell used David Petraeus’ own Gmail account to send the emails, and when the FBI began to investigate a possible security breach, they instead uncovered the messages between the two sent from the decorated war hero’s own account – indicating an affair.

Sources say that after an investigation, Justice Department officials were unclear on how to proceed because no crime or breach of security had actually occurred.

James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, was informed of the incident and he reportedly advised David Petraeus to resign.

David Petraeus quit his post as director of the CIA on Friday while offering an apology for the affair.

Angelina Jolie has reportedly chosen L’Wren Scott to create the dress for her wedding to Brad Pitt.

According to Grazia magazine, Angelina Jolie requested L’Wren Scott, who is best known for her chic and sophisticated red carpet designs, to fashion a custom-made gown for her wedding.

“She’s been courted by some of the hottest designers on the planet, but having a big name isn’t important to her… Of all the people she’s met with she feels L’Wren is the one that understands her body the most,” a source told the magazine.

The source added: “Angelina wanted someone who is not so obvious for designing wedding gowns. L’Wren is famed for designing clothes to suit taller, thin women like herself.”

Angelina Jolie, 37, has worn L’Wren Scott’s eponymous label on numerous occasions.

In 2008 Angelina Jolie wore a black dress to the premiere of Brad Pitt’s film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and in 2011 she opted for an unfussy red number for the Moneyball premiere.

Angelina Jolie has been married twice before, to Jonny Lee Miller between 1996 and 1999 and then Billy Bob Thornton, from 2000 to 2003.

For her first wedding Angelina Jolie famously sported an unconventional ensemble consisting of black rubber trousers and a white T-shirt emblazoned the groom’s name written with her own blood.

Brad Pitt’s marriage to Jennifer Aniston lasted five years before they announced they were divorcing in early 2005 – which came after he had met Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Brangelina – as they became known – quickly became a Hollywood power couple, with a brood of six children; five-year-old Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne, aged 3, along with three adopted children Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, and Zahara, 7.

Although no further details of their nuptials, including the date, have emerged, it is thought that they will stage the event at their house in the South of France.

Former model L’Wren Scott, who has been in a relationship with Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger since 2002, has dressed Angelina Jolie many times for red carpet appearances, as well as the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz.

Fitting should also be easy to arrange as L’Wren lives in the house next door to the one Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt purchased in Richmond, Surrey, earlier this year.

Angelina Jolie’s daughter Vivienne was cast as the young Princess Aurora in her upcoming live action film Maleficent.

And now two of Angelina Jolie’s six children – Pax and Zahara – will also make their big-screen debuts in the same movie.

“They have smaller parts,” a source told Us Weekly, adding the 8-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl will not have speaking roles.

“Shiloh was supposed to be in it, too, but she was bored and not in the mood during the day her part was supposed to happen, so she ended up not being in the film.”

The tomboyish 6-year-old did, however, have a role as her father Brad Pitt’s daughter in his film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button back in 2008.

Angelina Jolie, 37, stars as the title role in Disney’s reimagining of the classic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty told from the evil doer’s point of view.

The focus of the film centres on the events that hardened Maleficent’s heart, leading her to curse the Princess Aurora played by Elle Fanning.

Back in August, The Sun reported that once 4-year-old Vivienne was cast as the younger version of 14-year-old Elle Fanning, the rest of the kids wanted to be included too.

“Ange thought it would be a fun experience for her and Viv to share, and Viv is a natural,” said the source.

“The other kids are now nagging Ange and Brad to land them roles.”

Both of the twins, Vivienne and Knox, were spotted visiting their famous mother on the set back in June and at one point Angelina Jolie held one of them in front of the soundstage’s green screen.

The next day, Pax and Shiloh were seen walking around the Buckinghamshire set with a minder.

Wearing her horned headdress, complete with prosthetic cheekbones and a long brown dress and matching cape, the dark-haired star looked frightening as the villain.

Speaking about her new film Angelina Jolie told EW: “It’s not anti-princess, but it’s the first time they’re looking at this epic woman.

“I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn’t mean she can’t have other [warmer] qualities.”

She said: “It sounds really crazy to say that there will be something that’s good for young girls in this, because it sounds like you’re saying they should be a villain. [Maleficent] is actually a great person. But she’s not perfect. She’s far from perfect.

“In general, it’s a very good message to say, <<Let’s look at something from the other side>>. But then also, what our challenge will be – and the script writer [The Lion King and Alice in Wonderland’s Linda Woolverton] has already cracked it – is not to simplify it, not to just reverse the story but tell a bigger story that doesn’t point the finger [at Princess Aurora] either.”

Juno Temple, Sam Riley, and Miranda Richardson also appear in the film directed by Robert Stromberg, which is set for release on March 14, 2014.

Meanwhile, according to the New York Daily News, the Jolie-Pitt clan has already gotten into the autumn spirit as recent aerial shots of the A-list couple’s Los Feliz home revealed a backyard table packed with Halloween pumpkins.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, 48, also have an 11-year-old son named Maddox.

The secret behind Angelina Jolie’s flawless face has been revealed as she is thought to be a fan of Dragon’s Blood, Rodial’s popular sculpting facial gel.

Dubbed the “Liquid Facelift”, Dragon’s Blood works by adding essential volume to hollow skin.

It claims to plump, sculpt and lift the complexion whilst protecting against ageing and reducing skin sagging.

Celebrity facialist Nuz Shugaa, who works with Rachel Weiz and Amanda Seyfried, as well as Angelina Jolie, says that the mother-of-six relies on the gel to maintain her youthful appearance.

“Angelina needs to keep her skin plump and hydrated to maintain the youthful radiance she is famed for,” says Nuz Shugaa.

“Lack of sleep, hectic lifestyle with extensive travelling all contribute to depleted levels of hyaluronic acid – which result in the skin looking tired, dry and dull.

“This incredibly ageing to all women in their thirties.

“I recommended the Dragon’s Blood’s sculpting gel to Angelina as it gives her a dewy complexion (for appearance of sleep!) with added volume which define her beautiful high cheek bones.”

Angelina Jolie, who is currently preparing to marry long-term love Brad Pitt, has apparently been using the product since February.

Dragon’s Blood, which costs $115, is made from the red sap of the sangre de drago tree and sold-out within minutes when it first launched earlier this year.

It proved so popular that there were 20,000 eager customers on the waiting list before it went on sale, with Harvey Nichols reporting “queues out the door”.

It is considered a less-invasive alternative to fillers, creating a youthful complexion without the needless and avoiding the common problem known as “pillow face”, where the cheeks look “inflated”.

“With our new Dragon’s Blood serum, women including our celebrity fans, are able to regain the youthful fullness in their face,” says a spokesperson for Rodial.

“Age, environmental damage and demanding lifestyles all take their toll and age us prematurely, with wrinkles and sagging skin around the eyes and cheeks being some of the first signs.

“Before now the only way to counteract these unattractive symptoms, was to inject fillers into the cheek to restore the original plumpness of the face.”

Dragon’s Blood alleviates the need for such cosmetic work as it plumps facial hollows and “orbital troughs” under and around the eyes, as well as for cheek volume and contouring of the chin, forehead and nose.

Lady Gaga also uses cream and reportedly used it as she prepared for the Golden Globes earlier this year.

During independent trials, 92% of volunteers saw an increase in skin elasticity over three months, while 72% also experienced a reduction in skin sagging.

Results also showed that those who used Dragon’s Blood found their skin was dramatically defined and volumised with firmer skin and improved tonicity around the jaw line and cheek bones.

U.S. superstar Angelina Jolie, whose recent directorial debut dealt with Bosnia’s 1992-1995 war, was a special guest of the festival earlier.

During her stay in the Bosnian capital she was made an honorary citizen of Sarajevo for her efforts in “keeping the truth about wartime events in Sarajevo and Bosnia-Hercegovina alive”.

The award is given by the Sarajevo county every year to a foreign national who promotes humanity, democracy and tolerance.

Other films among the more than 200 screened at the event, included a documentary Football Rebels, narrated by French former football superstar turned actor Eric Cantona.

It profiled five footballers – Ivory Coast’s Didier Drogba, Chile’s Carlos Caszely, Algerian Rachid Mekhloufi, Brazil’s Socrates, and Bosnian Predrag Pasic – focusing on their humanitarian and social activities off the pitch.

The film was directed by Gilles Perez and Gilles Rof.

The Sarajevo film festival was born as an act of resistance during the 1992-1995 war when Sarajevo was under siege.

Drinking Time Machine, a chilling new phone app, gives users an insight into how they will look after ten years of binge drinking.

The app has been designed by forensic artist Auriole Price as a warning of the devastating effects of alcohol on the body. By taking a photo and inputting your daily alcohol intake, the app shows how heavy drinking speeds up the ageing process.

The unflattering pictures reveal the full effects of alcohol with the portraits showing bloated flushed cheeks and bloodshot eyes. Initially designed for a Scottish Government health drive, the app is now available on iTunes for $1.

Auriole Price, 41, said: “The main aim is to shock people into drinking just a little bit less. We are appealing to people’s vanity as the effects of alcohol can include red, broken veins on the cheeks, bloodshot eyes, a bloated face and deeper wrinkles.”

The app has been used on photographs of well-known celebrities – from Angelina Jolie and Madonna to Tulisa – with the resulting bloated faces, haggard complexions and deep lines etched on the face acting as a warning against over-indulgence.

Angelina Jolie has become an honorary citizen of Sarajevo at the city’s film festival, in recognition of her film In the Land of Blood and Honey about Bosnia’s 1992-1995 war.

Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey, tells the story of a Bosnian Muslim woman’s love for a Bosnian Serb man during the war.

“This means so much to me. My heart is in this city,” said a tearful Angelina Jolie when given her award.

She said her experience making the film had been life-changing.

“The time I spent and the people I met in Bosnia have changed me forever,” she said.

“I can’t tell you how much it means to me to be named an honorary citizen of Sarajevo, a city so dear to my heart.”

The honor was announced in April.

It was presented to her by the prime minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Fikret Music.

In the Land of Blood and Honey, which features stark scenes of rape, executions and other war crimes, was first screened in Sarajevo last December.

Some Bosnian Serbs called for the film to be banned, saying it portrayed them as villains, but others said they wanted the film to be shown.

It was nominated for a Golden Globe earlier this year for best foreign language film.

Angelina Jolie was also attending the Sarajevo Film Festival to promote young talent in Bosnia.

The festival began during the Bosnian War and has gone on to become one of the largest in Europe.
