Rosie O’Donnell and her wife of less than three years, Michelle Rounds, have split, O’Donnell’s rep has confirmed.
She is also leaving The View daytime show after just six months. In July 2014, Rosie O’Donnell was rehired to join the ABC’s show as a co-host.
New reports claim that Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds have been living apart for months, and that O’Donnell feels she must leave The View to focus on her five kids.
Rosie O’Donnell’s publicists, Cindi Berger, confirmed the marital split, as well O’Donnell’s departure from The View, in a statement on February 6: “I can confirm that Rosie and her wife Michelle split in November. Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention. This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave <<The View>>. Next week will be her last.”
The 52-year-old comedian married her second wife Michelle Rounds in private ceremony in June 2012.
In 2013, Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds adopted a baby girl, Dakota.
The comedian has three other older kids adopted before and during her marriage to Nickelodeon executive Kelli Carpenter. Another child was born to Kelli Carpenter through artificial insemination.
Rosie O’Donnell was married to Kelli Carpenter from 2004 to 2007.
