Duck Dynasty Christian event in Bristol canceled after Duck Commander Wines deal
A Duck Dynasty event for a Christian organization in Bristol has now been canceled because of Duck Commander business deal.
Organizers of the Family Ministries benefit announced the cancellation of Willie Robertson’s appearance Monday evening.
They say a recent partnership between Duck Dynasty and Duck Commander Wines will send the wrong message to young people who were attending the event.
“Our greatest responsibility is to the young people we serve. Therefore, we feel that in light of the recent news that the stars of the show <<Duck Dynasty>> are partnering with Trinchero Family Estates to launch Duck Commander Wines, to continue with this event would send mixed messages to the young people who go through our Adolescent Drug and Alcohol program,” said Derek Bell, director of development for Family Ministries, in a press release.
Tickets will be refunded by the Viking Hall Civic Center. The event was scheduled for April 12, 2014.
