The 28th Annual MTV Video Music Awards 2011 (VMA 2011), was held in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre on Sunday August 28.

Adele, 23, English singer-songwriter, won four awards for Rolling in the Deep: Best Direction in a Video (Director: Sam Brown), Best Art Direction in a Video (art director: Nathan Parker), Best Editing in a Video (editor: Art Jones at Work), Best Cinematography in a Video (director of photography: Tom Townend).

Another big winner of MTV Video Music Awards 2011 was Katy Perry, 26, singer-songwriter and actress, was awarded three times. Firework became Video of The Year. E.T.  (Katy Perry featuring Kanye West) received Best Collaboration and Best Special Effects in a Video (special effects: Jeff Dotson for Dot & Effects).

Katy Perry was nominated ten times, while Adele and Kanye West were nominated seven times.

Beyoncé won Best Choreography in a Video (choreographers: Frank Gatson, Sheryl Murakami and Jeffrey Page) for Run the World (Girls).

Beyoncé, 29, R&B singer, actress and fashion designer, announced that she was pregnant with her first child.

Other MTV Video Music Awards 2011 went to:

Justin Bieber (Best Male Video for U Smile),  Tyler, the Creator (Best New Artist for Yonkers), Foo Fighters (Best Rock Video for Walk), Nicki Minaj (Best Hip-Hop Video for Super Bass), Maná (Best Latino Artist of 2011 for Lluvia al Corazón).
