As Glastonbury festival organizers announced that Kanye West will headline this year festival’s Saturday lineup, outraged fans are already demanding that rapper be dumped from the lineup.
According to a Change.org petition signed by more than 21,000 people as of Tuesday afternoon, it’s because “Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world” and not “deserving.”
“Cancel Kanye West’s slot and get a rock band,” the petition demanded.
It then added: “We spend hundreds of pounds to attend glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment.”
For the record, Foo Fighters are headlining Friday night’s Glastonbury lineup.
In 2008, there was an outcry over Jay-Z being the first rapper to headline Glastonbury, apparently because he wasn’t “rock” enough to handle the top slot on the bill.
However, anyone on the Internet can sign this petition, regardless of whether they’re going to Glastonbury or even live in the UK. So these 21,000-and-counting signatures don’t exclusively come from Glastonbury fest-goers.
Porter Ridge fans filed a petition to Discovery Channel to bring back the reality show.
“We ask that you bring shirtless Terry, The Bear Man, Kayla, Dirty Andy, Danny Bob, Elvis Larry, Rusty, Barry and the Dog Killer Ridge crew back. Not only have earned their place on the Discovery Channel lineup, they have built a strong fan base.
“While we’d hate to see Porter Ridge lose its home on Discovery Channel, the fan base encourages Scott and Deirdre Gurney to keep the show alive even… “ said the petition on change.org.
Porter Ridge’s premier last year drew in 1.42 million viewers which quickly grew to a global following. The reality show ranks in class with other favorites such as Storage Wars: Texas, Real Husbands of Hollywood, Chopped, Modern Family, Law & Order: SUV, Tosh.0, Family Guy, etc.

“Our request is for Discovery to continue to provide Porter Ridge a home on the network, one that has been rightfully earned. However, while we would be disappointed to see the show leave Discovery, the fan base would be satisfied to find Porter Ridge airing on any network.
“Further, we petition for Scott and Deirdre Gurney to keep their dream alive.
“Have your voice heard by signing this petition, and by visiting the Porter Ridge Facebook page or The Viewer Relations section of the Discovery Channel website,” the petition added.

An online petition requesting Justin Bieber’s expulsion from the US attained 100,000 signatures.
The petition was filed on a White House website by a member of the public.
The US president has no power to order an individual’s deportation, and it is unclear whether the White House will respond to the petition.
Justin Bieber, 19, has had several run-ins with police over the past year.
In the early hours of last Thursday, the singer was arrested in Miami Beach after a police officer pulled him over on suspicion of racing a hired yellow Lamborghini on a public street.

Suspecting he was intoxicated, the officer arrested him. Justin Bieber was also charged with resisting arrest and driving on an expired license.
He was later released on bail of $2,500.
Earlier in January, police in California searched Justin Bieber’s home after he allegedly threw eggs at his neighbor’s house, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
Justin Bieber’s manager tweeted on Wednesday evening asking people “to be kind and hope for the best in people. Not assume the worst. Thanks”.
Over 40,000 people in the US have signed a petition calling for President Barack Obama to revoke Justin Bieber’s visa and deport him to his native Canada following his arrest in Miami.
Justin Bieber was charged with DUI, resisting arrest without violence and driving without a valid license in Miami on Thursday, and it seems his latest bad behavior is the final straw for many Americans.

The petition, which was launched on Whitehouse.org hours after Justin Bieber’s arrest, states: “We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nation’s youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society.”
The campaign has garnered over 40,000 signatures, but must reach 100,000 before White House staff will agree to review it and “ensure it’s sent to the appropriate policy experts”.
The White House petition is not the only campaign that has been launched following Justin Bieber’s arrest – 17 additional petitions calling for the same action have appeared online.
