Angelina Jolie made her first public appearance since announcing she had removed her ovaries and fallopian tubes to prevent cancer at the 2015 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
Angelina Jolie, 39, attended the event with her daughters Zahara and Shiloh.
Last week, Angelina Jolie wrote in an op-ed in the New York Times: “Two years ago I wrote about my choice to have a preventive double mastectomy. A simple blood test had revealed that I carried a mutation in the BRCA1 gene. It gave me an estimated 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer. I lost my mother, grandmother and aunt to cancer.
“I promised to follow up with any information that could be useful, including about my next preventive surgery, the removal of my ovaries and fallopian tubes.”
Angelina Jolie went to see the surgeon who treated her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died of ovarian cancer at age 56 in 2007, for additional tests.

Amanda Bynes has been recently given full access to her millions and the troubled starlet is splashing the cash after deciding to stop saving, according to reports.
Amanda Bynes, 27, apparently demanded access to her money – including the funds tied up in investments – a few months ago.
A source told Radar Online: “While Amanda was growing up her parents and lawyers controlled all of her money, they put it away in investments so that she would be able to have it when she got older.”

“Amanda made a lot of money starting with Nickelodeon and then other TV shows and movies, but she lived like a regular girl when she was young.
“However, a few months ago she demanded that she have complete access to all of the money so she could spend it, not save it anymore.”
She recently told In Touch magazine that she is as rich as the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, who are believed to have a net worth of $300 million.
However, according to sources, in reality Amanda Bynes “is worth $5 to $6 million”.
“Amanda knows she has a lot of money. Before she wasn’t restricted from getting to it, but a lot of it was tied up in investments and banked for her future, but she insisted that she be able to use all of it as she sees fit and there is nothing anyone can do to stop her from spending it all,” the insider told Radar Online.
“Amanda can do whatever she wants for a while with all of her money but it isn’t going to last forever if she spends the way she has been lately,” the source added.
“She’s rich but she could find herself in financial trouble pretty soon.”
Amanda Bynes’ unusual antics include regularly professing her love for rapper Drake which she did once again on Tuesday.
She posted a link to an image of Drake on her Twitter page along with the words: “Loving far apart eyes @drake.”
Amanda Bynes was arrested on Friday at 3 a.m. on suspicion of DUI after she allegedly hit a sheriff’s cruiser while attempting to pass in her black BMW.
After being arrested near the intersection of Robertson and Santa Monica boulevards in West Hollywood, Amanda Bynes spent several hours locked in jail before her $5,000 bail was posted.
The former Nickelodeon star was then seen walking, clothed in the same scandalous outfit she was wearing when she allegedly crashed into a cop’s car, to the tow yard at which the black BMW she was driving was impounded.
The young actress, who was named one of Teen People’s “25 Hottest Stars Under 25″ back in 2006 and again in 2007, was listed as the fifth highest paid celebrity under the age of 21 as her earnings were reportedly $2.5 million at the time.

This isn’t the first time Amanda Bynes has found herself in trouble with the law as she was allegedly pulled over just last month for talking on her cellular phone while behind the wheel. While the officer was busy writing her a ticket, she decided it would be an excellent opportunity to simply drive away. After the incident, she did make a personal appearance at the police station in order to sign the traffic ticket. At this time, there have been no additional charges filed stemming from the incident.
Amanda Bynes is currently out on bail and back on the road after what was quite possibly one of the most disastrous nights of her life.
