Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson will be adding singer to her impressive resume, which already includes fashion designer and model.

Sadie Robertson made her modeling debut at New York Fashion Week on Monday, September 9, to show off her Sadie Robertson Live Original line during the Evening By Sherri Hill Spring 2014 show at the Trump Tower.

In addition to styling a black-and-white polka-dot ball gown, the A&E reality star walked down the runway in a beautiful, short beige dress.

Sadie Robertson’s parents, Willie and Korie, and other family members took a break from operating their Duck Commander company, which makes products for duck hunters, and traveled from Monroe, Louisiana, to support Sadie at the show.

“First time at New York Fashion Week,” Korie Robertson told Us Weekly.

“We’ve been to New York before, of course, but first time at Fashion Week and we’ve had a great time. We’re so proud and so happy about the partnership with Sherri Hill. She’s been awesome. And they’re a family business like we are, so we feel really great.”

Sadie Robertson said she likes to design dresses that are “unique” and “daddy-approved”, but she also has a celebrity fashion icon that she admires.

“I’ve been saying Carrie Underwood,” she said.

“She’s a country girl and she dresses very nice, classy.”

Korie Robertson also revealed that Sadie will be lending her voice to the upcoming Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas album.

“Sadie sings on it. Yeah, she has a couple of solos,” Korie Robertson said.

“And Willie wrote a song for it, so it’s really a lot of fun.”

Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson made her New York Fashion Week debut on Monday, walking the runway at the Evening By Sherri Hill Spring 2014 show at Trump Tower.

Sherri Hill dressed the aspiring model in a black and white prom gown with a full-length, polka-dot skirt and a sleeveless sequined bodice topped off with sheer material.

Sadie Robertson admitted to E! News backstage before showtime that she was “a little nervous -but more excited than anything.”

“I’ve done small [fashion-related] things in Louisiana, but this is New York Fashion Week,” she said.

“This is a whole new ball game!”

Sadie’s great-uncle, Si Robertson, also told E! News that this was definitely his first-ever fashion show – “and it’ll probably be the last”.

And though Sadie Robertson’s Sherri Hill prom dress will be the envy of any girl from any corner of the US, it had to get a very particular seal of approval before she could show it off in front of hundreds of people

The dresses Sadie Robertson models are, of course, “daddy-approved”, Willie Robertson said.

“They have to make it once by me to make sure I give ’em the thumbs-up.”

Fashion mogul Oscar de la Renta has slammed celebrities for turning New York Fashion Week into a “highly chaotic circus”.

Oscar de la Renta, 81, told WWD that he is sick and tired of the “huge crowds of people’ who pile into shows, ‘with no direct connection to the clothes”.

As a result, for his September 10 show at his midtown Manhattan showroom, he will only be allowing 350 invitees with a “legitimate professional purpose” to enter.

Explaining his motivation further, Oscar de la Renta said: “When you do megashows, it loses the reason of why we’re showing.

“It’s important for [certain industry professionals] to look at the clothes and see them.

Oscar de la Renta has slammed celebrities for turning New York Fashion Week into a highly chaotic circus

“They shouldn’t have to go through 30,000 people . . . who are trying to take pictures of all of those people who are totally unrelated to the clothes.

“I feel [inviting a more targeted audience] is the most manageable way and the most civilized way.”

In another interview with the Guardian, Oscar de la Renta explained that when shows are “highly chaotic and real circus, the people that do matter aren’t going to be put into the best of moods”.

He says for that those not invited to his presentation, all of the action will be available online, 20minutes later.
Echoing Oscar de la Renta’s sentiments, fashion journalist, Suzy Menkes wrote in the New York Times earlier this year that “today, the people outside fashion shows are more like peacocks than crows”.

“You can hardly get up the steps at Lincoln Center, in New York . . . because of all the photographers snapping at the poseurs.”

Meanwhile, retail consultant Robert Burke told the Guardian that once inside it’s often impossible to see what’s going on because people are “jumping to photograph” famous faces on the front row.

He points out that bloggers and celebrities are important, “but there needs to be balance”.

New York Fashion Week runs from September 5 to 12, with more than 80 designers set to show their spring/summer 2013 collections.

Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson is teaming up with designer Sherri Hill to create a line of prom dresses.

Willie Robertson’s daughter is finding herself in the spotlight once again after American Idol winner Scotty McCreery serenaded Sadie at her Sweet Sixteen party last month.

The Sadie Robertson Live Original collection, available next spring, will feature retro-inspired dresses with hem lengths that are “Willie approved”.

That’s very important, as Sadie Robertson’s protective father has vetoed her prom dress choices in the past.

In last season’s Duck Be a Lady episode, the 16-year-old struggled to find a gown that both she and the stern Willie Robertson liked.

Now, Sadie Robertson and girls like her across the country won’t have to worry about finding appropriate evening wear.

Not only that, but Sadie Robertson will model her designs on the runway at Sherri Hill’s New York Fashion Week on September 9.

Duck Dynasty Season 4 premieres Wednesday, August 14, at 10 PM on A&E.

John Galliano made his return to the fashion world yesterday with an outfit that resembled Hasidic Jewish clothing at Oscar de la Renta’s New York Fashion Week show.

John Galliano, who was fired from Christian Dior in March 2011 after several notorious drunken outbursts and anti-Semitic remarks in a Paris cafe, was seen in a long black jacket, charcoal homburg-style hat and twirled peyos – long sidelocks grown to demonstrate faith.

His outfit, seen en route to Oscar de la Renta’s design studio, where he has been helping the designer prepare for last night’s fall 2013 collection, shocked New York’s Jewish community.

Williamsburg community leader Isaac Abraham told the New York Post: “He’s trying to embarrass people in the Jewish community and make money on clothes [while] dressed like people he has insulted.

“It looks like the hairstyle he added was done purposely to insult.”

“I would invite Mr. de la Renta and Galliano to come to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, so I can show them some Holocaust survivors and the clothes they [wear].”

Meanwhile rabbi and fashion designer Tobi Rubinstein Schneier commented: “This was not very smart, unless he really wants attention. I’m hoping that this is not in any way a mockery through this attire.”

Heidi Klum has spoken publicly for the first time during an interview for the new Katie Couric TV show to deny she had an affair with her bodyguard while married to Seal claiming she never looked at another man when they were together.

Heidi Klum, 39, broke her silence to tell Katie Couric that she had been completely faithful to Seal during their seven-year marriage and has been left devastated by claims she cheated on him.

Seal had suggested his estranged wife was sleeping with bodyguard Martin Kristen after they were photographed together in Italy.

He said: “I would have preferred Heidi to have shown a little bit more class and at least waited until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help.”

A spokesman for Heidi Klum denied the claim, and Seal later retracted his statement and said he had not meant to suggest she had cheated on him during their marriage.

In her sit-down interview with Katie Couric, Heidi Klum insisted she had been faithful.

According to the New York Post, the German born model said of Seal’s comments: “It was a unique choice of words. I’m used to it. Other people aren’t. When we were together, I never looked at a another man.”

The full interview will be shown on Wednesday, two days after Katie Couric’s chat show makes its anticipated debut.

The revelation came a day after Heidi Klum was pictured looking relaxed in Los Angeles after returning from New York Fashion Week.

The supermodel landed back in California after strutting down the catwalk at New York Fashion Week last night, modelling an incredible and revealing gown at the Project Runway 2013 Spring Collection.

Following the success of last night’s shenanigans, Heidi Klum tweeted: “We shot the @ProjectRunway Season 10 finale today! Was a great show…but, you have to wait till Oct 18th to see it!”

The fashion show will become Project Runway’s series ten season finale.

Alongside Jennifer Hudson and Nina Garcia, Heidi Klum walked after a series of models, who were showcasing the designs of the three finalists, Fabio Costa, Melissa Fleis and Dmitry Sholokhov.

The Spring/Summer 2013 collections start coming down the runways on Thursday when New York Fashion Week shifts into high gear with nearly 300 shows and presentations over eight days.

Nicholas K, BCBG Max Azria, Richard Chai and Japan’s Tadashi Shoji are among the first to show at Lincoln Center, ground zero for a dizzying array of events around Manhattan.

Veterans on the schedule include Helmut Lang on Friday; Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta on Monday and Tuesday, and Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein when fashion week winds up next Thursday.

Younger designers and labels are prominent as well, among them Jason Wu on Friday; Alexander Wang and Altuzarra on Saturday; Thakoon, Zac Posen and Rad Hourani on Sunday; Phillip Lim on Monday; and Rodarte on Tuesday.

Newcomers include actress Katie Holmes, embarking on a new life as a part-time designer after her much-publicized divorce from film star Tom Cruise, with a collection put together with full-timer Jeanne Yang.

Running alongside fashion week is Fashion’s Night Out, on Thursday, spearheaded by Vogue magazine in 2009 to sustain shoppers’ interest in fashion in the wake of the post-2007 financial crisis.

Hundreds of stores and boutiques around Manhattan will be trying to outdo each other with the most original events, from tarot-card readings at Christian Louboutin to homemade charity cookies baked by model Karlie Kloss at DKNY.

New York Fashion Week is followed by London on September 14-18, Milan on September 19-25 and Paris on September 27 to October 3.

The semi-annual New York Fashion Week, branded Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in 2009, is held in February and September of each year in New York City.

New York Fashion Week is one of four major fashion weeks held around the world (along with those in Paris, London, and Milan).

Dates for 2013 have been set for September 6 – 13, 2012 (Spring/Summer 2013) and February 7 – 14, 2013 (Fall/Winter 2013).

New York Fashion Week kicks off the global calendar of Fashion Weeks, and is immediately followed by Fashion Weeks in London, Milan and Paris.

Twice a year – in February’s snow-covered chill and then again in September’s sunshine – New York’s streets overflow with models, buyers and fashion editors alike. For both the Spring / Summer and the Fall / Winter collections, New York Fashion Week (NYFW) promotes America’s fashion talent to the world, from big name designers to up-and-coming talents. With official runways, after parties, and off-schedule events scattered across the city, New York Fashion Week brings a packed program year after year.

Russian model Kira Dikhtyar has revealed the horrifying extremes employed by her peers in the fashion industry ahead of catwalk appearances.

As another round of New York Fashion Week gets underway, Kira Dikhtyar admits getting down to sample size-zero is no mean feat, and some girls are prepared to do anything to lose pounds quickly.

According to Kira Dikhtyar, 22, packs of cigarettes, diet pills, daily colonics and laxatives are the weapons of choice for many, while metabolism boosting injections have also crept onto the scene.

Disclosing what goes on behind-the-scenes, the 5′ 10″ beauty told Fox News healthy models turn to “HCG injections that go with a 500-calorie diet plan to T3 thyroid injections that… speed up their thyroid function, which results in a faster metabolism”.

HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a hormone found in the urine of pregnant women that supposedly works as an appetite suppressant. It is typically injected into the thigh, or taken as a drop under the tongue, however there is no scientific evidence proving its effectiveness.

Russian model Kira Dikhtyar has revealed the horrifying extremes employed by her peers in the fashion industry ahead of catwalk appearances

Kira Dikhtyar added that she has also heard of modeling agents encouraging drugs such as speed and cocaine in the run-up to shows in a desperate attempt to keep their money-making talent from gaining weight.

Fashion designer and former model Jackie Christie confirmed that models employ all kinds of dangerous techniques, such as hypnosis to control hunger and swallowing cotton balls, which enable them to get rid of excess fat or water before taking to the runway.

“I’ve seen models do ridiculous cleanses and diets – the lettuce soup diet, the lemon juice diet, extreme diet pills, etc. I’ve even heard of models detoxing a full month before a show and working out three times a day. It’s insane,” she said.

Nutritionists warn that limiting calorie intake in a short period of time can lead to nutritional deficiencies, which can in turn damage the immune system, cause dry skin and loss of muscle or bone density.

However, with many models wanting to boost their careers off the back of their stage appearances, the long-term health impacts of these unconventional weight loss methods can often be ignored.

Last year flame-haired model Coco Rocha spoke about the pressures on her to foster a malnourished look as a teenage model.

Coinciding with the launch of CFDA’s health initiative, aimed at protecting young women against eating disorders the size four Canadian told Vogue.com: “I was told: <<The look this year is anorexic. We don’t want you to be anorexic, just look it>>. This message was especially troubling given the fact that I was only 15.”

But commentators note that it’s not just the models who feel under pressure to be thin, and that the fashion industry as a whole including publicists, bloggers and editors have can be effected as fashion week looms.

Tweets about the #NYFW diet have been trending on Twitter this week. While many users humorously posted images of junk food others took to the social networking site demonstrating a more serious approach.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2013, begins today in New York and ends September 13.

Kirstie Alley showed full of confidence as she strutted down the catwalk at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday.

And this is not surprising, because the Cheers actress has reached a huge milestone in her battle to lose weight.

Kirstie Alley said she lost 100 pounds (about 50 kg) after she participated into Dancing With The Stars contest, according to a recent interview she gave to Entertainment Tonight.

Kirstie Alley took to the runway for Malaysian designer Zang Toi at New York Fashion Week

In the same interview Kirstie Alley said:

“I feel like I’m back in my element. I honestly didn’t even realize what I looked like.”

Kirstie Alley, the yo-yo dieter, who now says she’s a US size 4, is clearly thrilled with her new look and insists she’s not tempted follow up with a nip and tuck.

“I haven’t had plastic surgery but here’s the reason: People do plastic surgery to make you look younger.”

“I don’t think it makes you look younger. I like it can make you look weirder.”

Kirstie Alley, 60, who once tipped the scale at 230 lbs, outdid celebrities and models alike as she took to the runway for Malaysian designer Zang Toi at New York Fashion Week.

The Cheers star stole the show as she paraded her newly slimmed down physique in front of a packed house at The Studio at the Lincoln Centre.

Kirstie Alley was wearing a stunning cobalt blue embellished gown and matching dress coat while she garnered cheers and loud ovation as she swept up the long catwalk, looking maybe 20-years-younger than her actual age.

But she didn’t stop, Kirstie Alley also donned a fitting black dress over a pair of leggings.

Kirstie Alley’s blonde hair was pulled up into a large beehive-style bun, no doubt with hair extensions added to create the full look.

One day before the show, she tweeted:

”Waaaa Hooooo!!! Kitty is ready to walk the Cat!!! False Bravado will guide me…Let’s have some fun @ZANGTOI!!!”

“Will be winkin and blinking at y’all. DONT make me laugh! Gotta keep model face. Oh, who am I kidding?? Haha,” she tweeted.

“DO NOT make eye contact! I will start giggling and fall on my well-dressed ass. Look away!”

In the end, Kirstie said:

“Thank You all the REAL Models for letting me share @ZANGTOI runway with you!!!!! You all were sooo sweet and looked soooo gorgeous!!!

“THANK YOU @ZANGTOI !!!! I love you!!! I had the time of my life!!!!”

Kirstie Alley told Entertainment Tonight that she had known Zang Toi since 1993.

“I did the cover of Redbook and I wanted something really beautiful…he just has the most beautiful clothes, period.”

Kirstie Alley enjoyed the experience, and the clothes, so much that she walked out of the Lincoln Centre wearing one of the outfits she modelled.
