Justin Bieber won’t face assault charge over mobile phone row
According to LA officials, Justin Bieber won’t face a charge of assault over a row about a mobile phone.
Justin Bieber, 20, had been accused of the crime by a woman who claimed she had a row with him over her mobile phone.
The woman said Justin Bieber pulled her phone out of her bag to see if she was filming him, while he was hitting balls in a batting cage at a family entertainment centre.
She said she showed the singer her phone to prove that she wasn’t taping him.
Although the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office has declined to file a felony charge, the case has been referred to the Los Angeles city attorney’s office for consideration of a possible misdemeanor prosecution.
In the US, misdemeanors are generally viewed as less serious crimes which carry less severe punishments than felonies.
The district attorney’s report stated that the woman also said her daughter was crying but when police interviewed the girl, she said she was crying out of excitement at seeing Justin Bieber.
