The former first lady quipped: “Is that somebody throwing something at me? Is that part of Cirque du Soleil?”
She added: “My goodness, I didn’t know that solid waste management was so controversial. Thank goodness she didn’t play softball like I did.”
Ilene Rosen, a witness and the wife of a conventioneer, told the Associated Press the unidentified object-thrower walked down the aisle and got roughly six rows from the front of the seating area when she threw the object.
The woman then turned around, threw her hands in the air and walked toward the back of the room before ushers surrounded her, Ilene Rosen said.
Security officers escorted the woman out of the room. She said she threw a shoe but didn’t identify herself to reporters or explain why she did it.

Britney Spears was accused of lip-syncing during the launch of her Las Vegas show, Britney: Piece of Me
A number of critics claim Britney Spears has reneged on a promise to provide live vocals on stage after the singer’s manager, Larry Rudolph, previously insisted the show would not be mimed, saying: “There might be some numbers where she’s full out dancing with a [vocal] track underneath her, but there won’t be any lip-syncing across the board.”
Britney Spears was previously accused of lip-synching during shows on her Femme Fatale Tour in 2011.
