Jessica Simpson has taken to motherhood wholeheartedly and gave birth to her second child with fiancé Eric Johnson on June 30, a boy they named Ace Knute.
Ace Knute’s arrival into the world came just 14 months after Maxwell’s birth and before she was able to lose all the weight from the first pregnancy.
While Jessica Simpson is definitely fuller figured than usual, Eric Johnson has apparently been very supportive about her taking a slower, more healthy approach to weight loss.
Jessica Simpson also has support in the form of her trainer Harley Pasternak, who according to reports is encouraging her to shed the excess pounds slowly but surely.
Jessica Simpson famously struggled to shed her baby weight after piling on 60 lbs while pregnant with her first child, baby Maxwell.
And despite gaining half that amount the second time around, Jessica Simpson is apparently having just as much of a battle with the bulge.
According to reports, Jessica Simpson “feels really, really frustrated” with her weight loss post-pregnancy.
A source told OK! Magazine that slimming down “has been really difficult this time around” and added that the singer turned Fashion Star mentor “would just rather play with her kids than work out”.
“She feels really guilty whenever she leaves them,” the insider explained.

Jessica Simpson, 33, gave birth to son Ace Knute on June 30, just 14 months after welcoming her daughter Maxwell Drew into the world.
And her fiancé Eric Johnson has apparently been very supportive about her taking a slower approach than many celebrity mothers, who result to drastic measures to lose the weight quickly.
“He tells her to stop putting so much pressure on herself,” the source said.
“He says that they can work out together, cook together, and the weight will drop right off.”
The insider added that the retired NFL tight end “is so happy with his family” and “doesn’t care about the weight as much as Jessica does”.
Jessica Simpson also has support in the form of her trainer Harley Pasternak, who according to reports is encouraging her to shed the excess pounds slowly but surely.

Jessica Simpson’s fashion reality show was cancelled after dismal ratings for Fashion Star led NBC to pull the plug on the show after just two series.
Jessica Simpson, 33, who has her own fashion line, was one of the mentors on the show along with Nicole Richie.
The series had initially launched with former supermodel Elle McPherson as the presenter and was seen as a direct competitor to the hugely successful Project Runway.
Contestants were asked to come up with new designs, with the celebrities acting as mentors.
After just one season Elle McPherson was replaced by Louise Roe but the reality show continued to struggle in the ratings.
On average, the show rated 0.7 in the advertiser-coveted Adults 18-49 demographic and 2.76 million total viewers.

After the poor showing in season one NBC replaced H&M, who sold the show’s designs, with Express.
But as viewing figures plummeted the show was moved from Tuesday night the graveyard slot of Friday night.
NBC chief Bob Greenblatt confirmed at the Television Critics Association Press Tour that the show was cancelled.
While Jessica Simpson’s reality show career might be over her clothing line goes from strength to strength.
The Jessica Simpson Collection, which produces shoes, handbags, coats and clothing took in $750 million in retail sales last year.
Its success has meant Jessica Simpson is now worth over $100 million.

In first tweet since giving birth to baby Ace Knute, Jessica Simpson has revealed that fiancé Eric Johnson is taking his responsibilities to the extreme.
Jessica Simpson, 33, shared a photo of her mother Tina, tightly swaddled in a blanket wearing a look of surprise.
Alongside the picture, Jessica Simpson tweeted: “Eric got carried away with his swaddling skills!”

A beaming Tina looked delighted to be a grandmother once more, the new addition probably taking her mind off her recent divorce from husband Joe, which was finalized in April.
New mom Jessica Simpson hasn’t been spotted since the birth of her second child via a scheduled C section on June 30.
Announcing the birth, the Fashion Star mentor’s rep told USWeekly: “Ace Knute (pronounced Ka-nute) Johnson has arrived! Mom and baby are doing great.”
“Jessica, Eric and Maxwell are thrilled to welcome the new addition to their family,” the rep continued.
Baby Ace takes the unusual middle name Knute from his Swedish paternal grandfather, but since the name was revealed it has been ridiculed on Twitter as “stupid” and “ugly”.
Jessica Simpson and 33-year-old Eric Johnson are already parents to daughter Maxwell who is almost 14-months-old.
Jessica Simpson would like her baby son to excel like his father, former NFL player Eric Johnson, his middle name is Knute – apparently in homage to Knute Rockne, regarded as one of the greatest coaches in American football history.
However, others have not been so quick to appreciate the name chosen by the celebrity couple.
Just hours after his birth, Ace Knute Johnson has been targeted by “cowardly” online bullies.
Becoming the latest celebrity new-born to be attacked by internet trolls over his name, Ace has been branded “stupid and ugly” in dozens of Twitter messages.
Jessica Simpson, 32, has been accused of preparing him for a lifetime of bullying.
The singer, who is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson, gave birth to her son on Sunday afternoon.
The couple revealed their baby’s name to a US magazine and within hours they were being plagued by hateful messages.
Jessica Simpson’s newborn son Ace Knute Johnson was mocked by online bullies for his unusual name
One Tweeter speculated that Ace would be nicknamed “Ass Nut Johnson” at school while others questioned whether the name was a mistake.
“Knute? Did she mean Newt? Because Knute is a made up word, or Eskimo for <<Jessica Simpson is an idiot>>!” one wrote.
Referring to the trend celebrity parents to give their offspring unusual names, another posted: “Another week, another ridiculous baby name. Yes, Jessica Simpson, I mean you.”
Last night campaigners reacted to the tweets by branding those responsible “cowardly” and “small and nasty”. And they called for an end to trolling.
Susie Boone, of parenting site Made for Mums, said: “Celebrity or not these people are brand new parents and any new mum and dad will be feeling extremely vulnerable just after giving birth.
“It’s a very emotional experience, sometimes it can be a very worrying experience and it can be quite long and exhausting.
“There’s a pressure now for celebrities to announce the birth of their child and then everyone wants to know what the name is.
“They’re trying to get that information out and it’s very sad that people are coming in straight away and attacking them.”
Siobhan Freegard, founder of Net Mums, added that she was “fed up with this cowardly practice” and described the people responsible as “mean spirited, small and nasty”.
She went on to say that Ace, which means first, is an “unusual but not unheard of” name.
The middle name, Knute, is in honor of Eric Johnson’s Swedish grandfather.
This is not the first time Jessica Simpson has been targeted by Twitter trolls.
When she announced the name of her daughter, Maxwell, 14 months, she was accused of being a “terrible mother” for naming the girl “after an elderly man”.
Other stars to have been subjected to online bullying following the birth of their children include television presenter Fearne Cotton, reality star Kim Kardashian and Coleen Rooney, wife of England footballer Wayne Rooney.
Jessica Simpson, who gave birth via a scheduled C-section, was open with her fans throughout her pregnancy.
In March she revealed she was expecting a boy and admitted finding pregnancy much harder the second time round.
Jessica Simpson said: “This pregnancy is the complete opposite. With Maxwell, I felt amazing. I could do everything, eat everything, do whatever I wanted. I had a lot of energy. This time around I’m exhausted.”
Jessica Simpson has given birth to her second child, baby boy Ace Knute Johnson.
Ace Knute Johnson was born on Sunday, June 30, in Los Angeles, after Jessica, 32, had a scheduled C-section.

Jessica Simpson accidentally revealed she and her fiancé, a former NFL player and Yale grad, were having a son during a TV interview with Jimmy Kimmel in March.
In typical Jessica Simpson fashion the news slipped out accidentally.
“The crazy thing is I never knew a wiener could make me nauseous,” she told the chat show host.
Jessica Simpson then laughed off the on-air mistake, saying: “Well I guess I just told the world that I’m having a boy!”
“I can’t believe I just did that, that was not planned,” she said good-naturedly.
Later Jessica Simpson said: “I just did it so crude, I feel awful!”
But she didn’t seem too worried by the gaff, as she later tweeted: “Accidental announcement tonight on @jimmykimmel.”
A source close to Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson, who got engaged in 2010, previously revealed that they were keen to tie the knot shortly after the birth of their son.
But the blonde beauty fears she may fall pregnant again and be forced to cancel her wedding plans a third time, having previously nixed their nuptials because of the unexpected baby news.
In March, Jessica Simpson said humorously of her situation: “I keep planning on getting married but I keep getting knocked up.”
A source said: “[Jessica] was telling friends she wanted to get married a few months after the baby is born.”
Jessica Simpson is reportedly being sued for partaking in a baby picture conspiracy with OK! Magazine and Getty Images.
Jessica Simpson, 32, is being sued for allegedly posing with a Louisiana couple’s infant and passing off the child as her own on the cover of the celebrity weekly magazine.
According to the suit, originally reported by The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, Jessica Simpson was involved in the plot to make more money after she had already signed a six-figure deal with another publication for the rights to the first pictures of her actual child.
Christopher Hurst and Tracy Gregory took their teenage daughter and infant son to the Dillard’s department store in Metairie on October 2011 to meet Jessica Simpson, who was promoting her clothing line, according to the lawsuit.
As they were standing in line to get the star’s autograph, Christopher Hurst alleges a stranger suggested he allow Jessica Simpson – who was pregnant with her first child at the time – to hold the infant.
Jessica Simpson sued for passing off Christopher Hurst and Tracy Gregory’s child as her own in baby picture conspiracy
Christopher Hurst agreed, but when he handed his son to Jessica Simpson, “at least one previously unseen photographer hurriedly moved to the front of the line and began taking pictures of the child”, alleges the suit.
The couple were taken aback when months later OK! Magazine published the picture of Jessica Simpson with their child on the cover of its April 16, 2012 issue.
The headline read, My First Days as a New Mom, giving the impression that it was Jessica Simpson’s baby.
The lawsuit claims another publication had paid Jessica Simpson $800,000 to publish her first baby picture, but that she and OK! devised the plan to pass off another baby as her own in order to make more money.
The infant’s parents claim they were never offered and therefore never signed a release form allowing their son’s photo to be used.
The couple are suing Jessica Simpson, OK! Magazine, and Getty Images – who had the photos for sale or licensing on its website until March – for damages in excess of $75,000.
“What happened in this situation was wrong,” said Michael North, the couple’s attorney.
“It’s not something that ever should happen. Our immediate aim is to find out how it happened and why it happened and determine who is responsible.”
Jessica Simpson has kept mum on her due date, but it looks like she can’t have long to go before the birth of her second child.
The second time round mother showed off her awe inspiring pregnancy figure while out on Saturday during a girly weekend away with her sister, Ashlee and mother, Tina.
Jessica Simpson, 32, looked happy but huge as she headed off for a bite to eat in Ojai, California.
With her family be her side and daughter Maxwell in tow, Jessica Simpson stopped in at Italian restaurant Boccali’s.
Now that the singer is of course eating for two, her mother Tina made sure to grab all the left overs and bring them home with them.
For the dinner Jessica Simpson made her growing bump the centre of attention in a tight black maxi dress.
After she gained 60 lbs during her pregnancy with her first child, daughter Maxwell, Jessica Simpson has proudly revealed that she has only gained half that amount in her second pregnancy.
Jessica Simpson is due to give birth to a baby boy in a matter of weeks, and her frame has been noticeably slimmer in comparison to last year, when she prepared to give birth to Maxwell, now 11 months.
In a new interview with People magazine, Jessica Simpson, 32, says she has been working out regularly in the lead up to the arrival of her baby boy.
“Now I’m working out three times a week,” she told the magazine.
After she gained 60 lbs during her first pregnancy, Jessica Simpson has revealed she has only gained half in her second pregnancy
“I’ve only gained half of what I did in my first pregnancy!”
Jessica Simpson admits that she “let herself go” when she was pregnant with Maxwell, not paying enough attention to her diet and fitness regime.
“With my first pregnancy I really let go. I felt like I deserved to eat whatever I wanted,” she said in her interview.
Jessica Simpson also says that this time around she has also been more relaxed about her maternity wardrobe, easing off wearing her signature high heels.
“This time around I’ve been less about the fashion and more about the comfort,” she explains.
“With Maxwell I tried to wear heels the whole time but it hurt my knees. Now I’m wearing more flats.”
Jessica Simpson is only days to go until her due date and she was joined by celebrities like Jessica Alba and Ashlee Simpson as well as friends and family in celebrating her baby shower at the Bel-Air Hotel garden yesterday.
The bright and colorful shower, which was planned by renowned event planner Mindy Weiss, featured flowers by Mark’s Garden with yellow roses, yellow ranunculus, bunches of lavender and cabbage leaves surrounding the party.

Jessica Simpson piled on 70lbs while she was pregnant with daughter Maxwell Drew but now she is determined to keep her baby weight under control as she hit the gym in Los Angeles, California, on Friday.
Jessica Simpson, 32, who has 11-month-old daughter Maxwell Drew with NFL player fiancé Eric Johnson, gained 70lbs during her first pregnancy, and admitted that this time around she is trying to keep her cravings under control as she knows how difficult it was to shift her baby weight.

Speaking to chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, Jessica Simpson recently said: “The first pregnancy I like let loose and I kind of ate everything that I wanted to eat and I just really enjoyed it.
“This time around I think because I was doing Weight Watchers and I felt super healthy. I’m not really craving as much and I know how hard it is to get off so I’m trying to make healthier, wiser decisions.”
However, Eric Johnson was positively enamored by her blossoming figure.
Jessica Simpson said: “Apparently Eric still wanted me. So I can gain as much weight and I will have a husband to be that loves me.”
She explained her whole pregnancy has been different the second time around, with her finding the experience “exhausting”.
Jessica Simpson said: “It’s the complete opposite. Like with Maxwell, I felt amazing. Like I could do everything, eat everything. Do whatever I wanted.
“I had a lot of energy. This time around, I’m like exhausted. Eating Tums. That’s my snack of choice.”
Jessica Simpson has previously refused to reveal the sex of her unborn child, but she accidentally revealed that she’s expecting a baby boy during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday.
“The crazy thing is I never knew a wiener could make me nauseous,” Jessica Simpson told Jimmy Kimmel.
Jessica Simpson then laughed off the on-air mistake, saying: “Well I guess I just told the world that I’m having a boy!”
She didn’t seem worried by the slip up, tweeting: “Accidental announcement tonight on @jimmykimmel.”
Jessica Simpson, 32, fell pregnant with her second child when her daughter Maxwell was less than a year old.
The pop star and her fiancé Eric Johnson confirmed they were expecting their second baby back in December.
Jimmy Kimmel joked when greeting her that “It’s time to have this baby already,” to which Jessica laughingly said: “I know, I can’t believe I’m pregnant again!”
But this time around, being pregnant is more of a challenge, she said.
“It’s a totally different pregnancy. I just feel awful, I’ve been vomiting,” said the star candidly.
Jessica Simpson then cracked the wiener joke, after which she brought her hand to her mouth in shock at her accidental slip.
“I can’t believe I just did that, that was not planned,” she said good-naturedly. Later she said: “I just did it so crude, I feel awful!”
Jessica Simpson accidentally revealed that she’s expecting a baby boy during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday
It’s been reported that Jessica Simpson and her fiancé plan to name their child Ace. When Jimmy Kimmel addressed the rumors, she didn’t answer him directly, stating: “Well let’s hope it’s a boy!”
Jimmy Kimmel also asked her whether she planned on getting married soon.
“I keep planning on getting married but I keep getting knocked up,” she quipped.
“Maybe I should go back to when I was younger – I was a virgin before I was married, so maybe I should just completely reverse and just stop having sex all together until Eric and I actually say <<I do>>.”
Jimmy Kimmel asked what Jessica Simpson’s father Joe Simpson, who is an ordained minister, said when his daughter got pregnant out of wedlock.
Jessica Simpson said when she told him she was pregnant the first time, he said: “Well what are we going to do?”
And the second time she fell pregnant, Joe Simpson was more resigned, merely stating: “Oh honey.”
When asked whether she and Eric Johnson plan on having more kids, Jessica Simpson stated: “I really don’t want to be pregnant again because this pregnancy is really rocking my world right now.”
Jimmy Kimmel also mentioned Jessica Simpson’s best friend Cacee Cobb, who is pregnant and due around the same time as Jessica.
When asked if the two had planned it, Jessica Simpson replied: “Well it’s definitely something we would love to have happened. We want our babies to be best friends, ’cause we are.
“So now we’re going to force them to go to school together, force them to eat sandwiches together.”
“Hopefully it works out, we would be heartbroken,” Jessica Simpson said, laughing.

Jessica Simpson admits on The Ellen show that was a surprise to learn she was expecting another baby when her daughter Maxwell was less than a year old.
“We were definitely extremely shocked,” Jessica Simpson tells Ellen DeGeneres on the Wednesday edition of her talk show.
“Apparently, protection just went out the window. I feel like I’m always pregnant. We’re very happy.
“Maxwell was our focus and then I was puking and lying on the couch,” Jessica Simpson adds, recalling the time she discovered she was pregnant again.
Jessica Simpson, 32, and her fiancé Eric Johnson confirmed they were expecting their second baby back in December.
Since then, reports have suggested Jessica Simpson is expecting a baby boy, something the star hints at on the talk show.
“Well I don’t know,” she says when Ellen DeGeneres quizzes her over the sex of the baby.
“I haven’t said what it’s going to be yet.”
However, Jessica Simpson is forced into a corner when the talk show host holds up two different onesies as a gift for Maxwell, asking Jessica to choose between the “I <<heart>> my baby sister” or “I <<heart>> my baby brother”.
“You can’t have both,” Ellen DeGeneres tells her.
“You can only have one.”

Luckily, Ellen DeGeneres makes the decision for her, handing Jessica Simpson the “brother” outfit telling the star “that’s my guess okay”.
“Maybe I’ll take this one,” Jessica Simpson hints.
“If it’s a girl, she might call him bro.”
Jessica Simpson also reveals that she is finding her second pregnancy much more tiring than her first.
“It’s the complete opposite,” Jessica Simpson says.
“Like with Maxwell, I felt amazing. Like I could do everything, eat everything. Do whatever I wanted.
“I had a lot of energy. This time around, I’m like exhausted. Eating Tums. That’s my snack of choice.”
But Jessica Simpson says she has learned to be healthier in contrast to her pregnancy with Maxwell.
“The first pregnancy I like let loose and I kind of ate everything that I wanted to eat and I just really enjoyed it,” she reveals.
“This time around I think because I was doing Weight Watchers and I felt super healthy.
“I’m not really craving as much and I know how hard it is to get off so I’m trying to make healthier, wiser decisions.”
Despite her weight gain, a glowing Jessica Simpson tells Ellen DeGeneres that “apparently Eric still wanted me. So I can gain as much weight and I will have a husband to be that loves me”.
“Apparently he did,” Ellen DeGeneres responds dryly, gesturing towards Jessica Simpson’s blossoming baby bump.

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have been engaged for two years, and the star has revealed she and her fiance have set two separate wedding dates.
However, Jessica Simpson admitted that she hasn’t had the opportunity to walk down the aisle – because both times she then fell pregnant.
“We’ve had two different wedding dates, but he keeps knocking me up,” Jessica Simpson said when she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday night.
“We’re doing it very backwards, I know… I’ll just keep my legs crossed, I guess, this time.”
Jessica Simpson, 32, who is pregnant with her second child and confessed it was not planned, displayed her blossoming figure in a low-cut leopard print clingy dress, which displayed plenty of her ample cleavage and clung to her tiny baby bump.
“Apparently it was a part of God’s plan for my life,” she laughed as she chatted about her new pregnancy.
“I was extremely shocked because I was going through a lot of hormonal changes, trying to get back to the old, vibrant Jessica. You know, it was kind of like a one-night stand. And it happened, all over again!”

She went on: “We don’t have a name yet, we’re just now in the process of casting everyone, doing the pilot. I will be playing myself but we’ll have actors playing Eric and my dad. That’ll be funny.”
