Billboard magazine has named Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z as the most powerful people in music.
The celebrity couple were voted top of Billboard’s Power 100 list by the magazine editors who analyzed market share, revenue and other data.
Beyonce and Jay-Z have founded their own companies – Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment and Roc Nation.
The couple have been married since 2008 and have one child together, a daughter named Blue Ivy.
Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge and Red Light Management founder Coran Capshaw follow the performers on the annual list of most influential people in America’s music industry.
Billboard magazine has named Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z as the most powerful people in music
Lucian Grainge and Coran Capshaw were first and second last year respectively.
The third annual Billboard Power 100 list took place on Thursday night at the Emerson Theatre in Los Angeles.
Scooter Braun, who manages artists including Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Martin Garrix and Tori Kelly, came in at number 33 on the list.
Music producer Dr Luke, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek and recording executive Jimmy Iovine also featured.
Music and television producer Simon Cowell came in at 58, while his former colleague on The X Factor, LA Reid, was voted two places higher at 56.
Jay-Z has racked up a long list of reputed romantic dalliances before falling in love with Beyonce.
His first significant girlfriend was Blu Cantrell, an American R&B singer and songwriter, though he has also been linked to singer Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim and the late Aaliyah, amongst others.
Jay-Z dated Blu Cantrell immediately before Beyonce, and it seems as though she may still be harboring some salty feelings about the way they ended things.
Jay-Z dated Blu Cantrell immediately before Beyonce
The 37-year-old released a song titled S.O.S (Tell Me Where You At), and in the chorus she can be heard singing: “It’s an S.O.S. Hova, tell me where you at.”
Blu Cantrell apparently dumped Jay-Z and ended the relationship, but it seems as though she still felt as though it was necessary to express her feelings about the way that he treated her during the relationship. In the first verse she dives right into the subject matter of how she felt as though she was a loyal, “down-to-ride” type of girlfriend, but that he didn’t reciprocate the same kind of love.
Jay Z spent thousands of dollars trying to woo her with presents and even caught an attempted murder charge for her, but she dumped him.
Blu Cantrell apparently has another song in her arsenal where she takes shots at Jay-Z for using her name “Blu” to name his and Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy.

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter celebrated her second birthday and her mother shared a picture of Blue Ivy Carter’s new rides – a Cadillac and Ferrari.
Beyonce, 32, posted photos of the mini cars via Tumblr on Friday.
In the photo, Blue Ivy’s new wheels are parked next to one another. Her blue Ferrari is personalized with “Blue Ivy Baby Slab” written on the front windshield, with “BABY SLAB” adorning the black interior seats. Blue Ivy’s shiny pink Cadillac, meanwhile, is twice the size of her sports car. The Fisher-Price toy features gold detailing and cotton candy-colored interior seats.

Jay-Z came under fire for his collaboration with Barneys New York as the store was accused of racially profiling two black customers.
Jay-Z, 43, said Saturday he’s being unfairly “demonized” for just waiting to hear all of the facts.
The rapper made his first statement about the controversy in a posting on his website. He has come under fire for remaining silent as news surfaced this week that two young black people said they were profiled by Barneys after they purchased expensive items from their Manhattan store.
Jay-Z came under fire for his collaboration with Barneys New York as the store was accused of racially profiling two black customers
An online petition and Twitter messages from fans have been circulating this week, calling on the star to bow out of his upcoming partnership with Barneys for the holiday season, which will have the store selling items by top designers, inspired by Jay-Z, with some of the proceeds going to his charity. He is also working with the store to create its artistic holiday window display.
Jay-Z defended himself, saying that he hasn’t spoken about it because he’s still trying to figure out exactly what happened.
“I move and speak based on facts and not emotion,” the statement said.
“I haven’t made any comments because I am waiting on facts and the outcome of a meeting between community leaders and Barneys. Why am I being demonized, denounced and thrown on the cover of a newspaper for not speaking immediately?” Jay-Z said, referring to local newspaper headlines.
The two Barneys customers, Trayon Christian and Kayla Phillips, said this week they were detained by police after making expensive purchases.
Trayon Christian sued Barneys, saying he was accused of fraud after using his debit card to buy a $349 Ferragamo belt in April. Kayla Philips filed a notice of claim saying she would sue after she was stopped by detectives outside the store when she bought a $2,500 Celine handbag in February.
As the criticism grew, Barneys said Thursday it had retained a civil rights expert to help review its procedures. The CEO of Barneys, Mark Lee, offered his “sincere regret and deepest apologies.”
Jay-Z — who rose from a life of crime in Brooklyn to become one of the most heralded rappers and one of entertainment’s biggest superstars — has in the past called for a boycott of labels perceived to be racist, and has become more political in recent years, from speaking out about the killing of black teenager Trayvon Martin to campaigning for President Barack Obama.

Jay-Z has surprised fans by travelling to his concert at London’s O2 Arena on the Tube.
The rapper was joined on his journey by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Timbaland, who is supporting him on his Magna Carta world tour.
Chris Martin, who is good friends with Jay-Z, later joined him on stage.
Fan Jamie Robb tweeted a photo after meeting the rapper.
“What a riot… Just met Jay-Z on the tube in London,” he said.
He also revealed they had an entourage of around 10 people with them.

Another fan, Fu Choi, tweeted he was “too starstruck” to take a photo and said the rapper was mobbed by fans when he arrived at the arena.
And a third passenger, Elias, tweeted how the rapper surprised him on the escalator.
“Coming off the tube and I see Jay-Z casually walking up the next escalator next to me… EVERYONE GOES NUTS!!”
Last year Jay-Z took the subway to one of his concerts in Brooklyn, New York.
Rihanna has also used the Tube a number of times to get to concerts at the 02.
Jay-Z is playing four nights at the arena before his tour heads to mainland Europe.
Magna Carta Holy Grail is Jay-Z’s 12th studio album and became his first number one album in the UK.

Beyoncé and Jay Z – who also owns record label Roc Nation – took the crown for the second year running having earned a staggering $95 million together in the financial year June 2012 to June 2013.
The figures in the list show that the couple’s tours, businesses and endorsement deals saw them rack up $17 million more than last year.
Jay Z’s collaborative effort with Kanye West, Watch The Throne, spurned a platinum selling album and a world tour which earned $1.4 million a night.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé – who took a year hiatus after giving birth to Blue Ivy in January 2012 – earned $2 million a night for her current The Mrs. Carter Show world tour.
Beyoncé and Jay Z earned $15 million more than Gisele Bundchen and her footballer husband Tom Brady who came in second place with combined earnings of $80 million.
Jay Z and Beyoncé have topped Forbes magazine’s World’s Highest Paid Celebrity Couples list in 2013
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen out-earned her partner by $4 million as her line of flip-flops with Brazilian label Grendene – in which she owns shares – helped double her wages from last year.
Meanwhile Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt earned a hefty $50 million despite the fact they do not own any large businesses.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt pulled in the majority of their income from film fees while Brad earned a reported $7 million for his Chanel no.5 advert last year.
Ashton Kutcher and girlfriend Mila Kunis came in fourth place, while the fifth spot was taken by Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
While Kanye West had earned his half mainly through his Watch The Throne tour, Kim Kardashian earns an estimated $10 million a year through filming Keeping Up With The Kardashians and her various spin-off ventures.
Noticeably absent from the list was Victoria and David Beckham.

A documentary about Jay-Z’s role as curator of new music festival Made In America has been added to the bill for this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Ron Howard’s Made In America tells the story of the Philadelphia festival of the same name.
Widely considered as the kick-off to Oscar season, the 11-day film festival will feature 146 world premieres.
Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts are among a host of Oscar-winning stars expected to attend.
The pair are set to walk the red carpet for John Wells’ film August: Osage County, adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tracy Letts.

Colin Firth is also due to attend for the premiere of Jonathan Teplitzky’s film, The Railway Man, in which he plays the lead.
The Railway Man, a true story about the role of a British soldier who was captured by Japanese troops during WWII and for the rest of his life remained haunted by his captivity, also stars Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman.
Colin Firth previously won an Oscar for The King’s Speech, which went on to have award success after being shown at Toronto.
Other films included in the full programme, which was released on Tuesday, include Dallas Buyers Club starring Matthew McConaughey.
Matthew McConaughey, who plays real-life AIDS activist Ron Woodroof, lost nearly 40 lbs for the part and his performance has already been tipped for an Oscar nod.
Meanwhile, the film 12.12.12 about the Hurricane Sandy benefit concert will also feature.
Launched in 1976, TIFF is among the world’s top film events, and has served as a platform for international films seeking distribution in North America.
The 2013 festival, which opens with the WikiLeaks drama The Fifth Estate on September 5, will screen 366 feature and short films from 70 countries.
After days of speculation, according to E! News, multiple sources have confirmed to them that Beyoncé is expecting her second child with Jay-Z.
Suspicions were first sparked by the careful camouflage of the Givenchy gown Beyoncé, 31, wore to attend the Met Ball in New York.
The high waisted bodice with a detailed pattern made it hard to see the superstar’s actual shape.
But it was when Beyoncé had to cancel her Mrs. Carter Show performance in Antwerp, Belgium on Tuesday citing “dehydration and exhaustion” that the rumor mill went into overdrive.
Beyoncé recently told ABC News that she “would like more children” and that she feels 16-month-old Blue Ivy could do with some company.
She wore custom, hand beaded white peplum one-piece by designers Ralph & Russo when she took the stage in Antwerp a day after the cancelled concert, and though there was no sign of a bump the fitted corset gave little away.
Multiple sources have confirmed that Beyoncé is expecting her second child with Jay-Z
The New York Post newspaper also claimed that “multiple sources” told them Beyoncé is pregnant following her attendance at the star-studded Met Ball, where the star’s rumored pregnancy was the talk of the night.
Beyoncé is said to have “carefully” hidden her baby bump in the high-waisted Givenchy gown, but multiple photos have since surfaced of the singer sporting a growing stomach on her 65-date Mrs. Carter Show world tour, which touched down in Dublin, Ireland, on Sunday.
Pictures of her on stage in London appear to show an uncharacteristically rounded tummy.
Beyoncé welcomed her first child, daughter Blue Ivy Carter, into the world in January 2012.
The singer and her husband Jay-Z – real name Shawn Carter – remained tight-lipped about her first pregnancy until sensationally announcing it live at the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2011.

A photo of man bearing a striking resemblance to Jay-Z has surfaced, and if it wasn’t for the fact that it was taken in 1939, you’d swear it was the rapper himself.
The image, taken by Sid Grossman, is part of the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center’s collection.
The 1939 image shows a man sitting outside a stone building, dressed in typical though stylish attire for the decade: a news-boy cap and a full suit.
The man is staring down the camera lens with a distinct sense of attitude and intent.
Best of all, the man from the past has exactly the same poise and swagger as present day 43-year-old Jay-Z.
However, if you really wanted to start a conspiracy theory, you’d only need to look at the titles of Jay-Z’s albums and singles.
Jay-Z’s extensive list of titles include: In My Lifetime, The Best of Both Worlds (with R. Kelly), Don’t Let Me Die, Young Forever and Encore… mortality and immortality sure do seem to be running themes in the singer’s works.
Jay-Z has defended his trip to Cuba with his wife Beyonce in a new song titled Open Letter.
Jay-Z released Open Letter after two US politicians asked about the famous couple’s visit to the island.
The government officials from Florida asked if Jay-Z and Beyonce’s visit was officially licensed.
US citizens are not allowed to travel to Cuba as tourists but can obtain licences for academic, religious, journalistic or cultural exchange trips.
Jay-Z has defended his trip to Cuba with his wife Beyonce in a new song titled Open Letter.
On his new song, Jay-Z raps about his distaste for politicians and says: “Want to give me jail time and a fine, let me commit a real crime.”
Beyonce and Jay-Z are both supporters of President Barack Obama.
Jay-Z’s Open Letter raps: “Obama said, <<Chill, you gon’ get me impeached, you don’t need this (expletive) anyway, chill with me on the beach>>.”
“I done turned Havana into Atlanta… Boy from the hood, I got White House clearance.”
The White House said President Barack Obama did not personally approve Beyonce and Jay-Z’s trip to Cuba.
When asked about the lyrics, White House spokesman Jay Carney joked: “I guess nothing rhymes with treasury.”
“It’s a song. The president did not communicate with Jay-Z over this trip.”
US Treasury officials said Beyonce and Jay-Z’s trip to Cuba was licensed as a cultural exchange.

Two US lawmakers from Florida are demanding to know if the government sanctioned Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s vacation to Cuba.
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart have contacted the Office of Foreign Assets Control at the Treasury Department, asking if Beyoncé and Jay-Z obtained the correct license to travel to Cuba.
Angered by pictures showing Beyoncé and Jay-Z flaunting their retreat to the communist country, the legislators are criticizing the couple for indirectly supporting the oppressive regime of Raúl Castro by splashing as much as millions of dollars for luxurious accommodations for their entourage of family, friends and security.
A report in The Caribbean Journal said the two members of Congress have written to the director of the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
Two US lawmakers from Florida are demanding to know if the government sanctioned Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s vacation to Cuba
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart, who have openly criticized the repressive government in Cuba, are inquiring after the type of license Beyoncé and Jay-Z obtained to enter Cuba.
“We would like to respectfully request, within all applicable rules and guidelines, information regarding the type of license that Beyoncé and Jay-Z received, for what purpose, and who approved such travel,” the lawmakers stated in their letter.
“If these individuals were given people-to-people licenses, we would like to bring to your attention the Cuba Travel Advisory issued by OFAC on July 25, 2011 which states, <<OFAC only licenses People-to-People Groups that certify that all participants will have a full-time schedule of educational exchange activities that will result in meaningful interaction between the travelers and individuals in Cuba>>,” they added.
According to a description of the license on the agency’s website: “OFAC does not authorize transactions related to activities that are primarily tourist-oriented, including self-directed educational activities that are intended only for personal enrichment.”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s trip coincides with the news that a Cuban editor, Roberto Zurbano, was fired from his post at publishing house because of an article he wrote that claimed the country had a history of discriminating against blacks.
Roberto Zurbano had mentioned the discrimination in an op-ed piece for the New York Times, For Blacks in Cuba, the Revolution Hasn’t Begun, published on March 23.
On Friday, The Havana Times reported that Roberto Zurbano told his colleagues that he had been dismissed from the publishing house of the Casa de las Americas cultural center, in the wake of the article.
Pictures showing Beyoncé and Jay-Z sauntering down a street in Havana, Cuba and taking in the island’s nightlife have sparked outrage among activists appalled that the couple could vacation in a country known for its oppressive regime.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z took a jaunt to Cuba this week to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary but many wonder why they decided on a place known for extreme poverty and repression of political dissidents.
On Friday, the couple were pictured at the University of Arts in Havana and posed for pictures with students.
It was not reported if Beyoncé and Jay-Z participated in any classes nor were details provided about the visit.
Beyoncé, 31, even sang, though she was technically lip synching, the national anthem at Barack Obama’s 2013 inauguration and for his 2009 inauguration she sang while the president danced with First Lady Michelle Obama at a ball during the celebration.
Since the jet-setters have politically tied themselves to the 44th president and could literally select any location in the world to travel, why would they decide on such a controversial destination?
The US State Department classifies Cuba as “an authoritarian state that routinely employs repressive methods against internal dissent” and does not have diplomatic relations with the government, now lead by Fidel Castro’s brother Raúl.
The vacation has left one human rights activist in a state of disbelief.
“There are women getting beaten on a daily basis, women who are jailed for no reason…people are fighting for their freedom. It’s extremely insensitive,” Mauricio Claver-Carone, from the U.S.- Cuban Democracy Political Action Committee, told TMZ.
Washington’s 51-year embargo makes it illegal for US citizens to visit Cuba for mere tourism, although tens of thousands of Americans travel there each year on academic, religious, journalistic or cultural exchange visas.
The Obama administration eased many of the restrictions in 2011, but tourists still need a special visa to visit Cuba.

Celebrities including Beyonce and Jay-Z have had private details of their finances posted online.
Hackers have also put up information, but not credit reports, about US Vice-President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Los Angeles police say they are investigating how a police chief’s private details, including his address and a credit report, ended up online.
Police Cmdr. Andrew Smith described the site as “creepy”.
He said: “People get mad at us, go on the Internet and try to find information about us, and post it all on one site.
“The best word I can use to describe it is creepy.”
Andrew Smith also confirmed that police would be investigating the posting of information about any celebrities living in Los Angeles.
Other affected people include Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian.

Some of the private financial information posted includes social security numbers, which could allow fraudsters to commit identity theft.
Actors Mel Gibson and Ashton Kutcher are also reported to have been targeted on the site.
Information about FBI Director Robert Mueller is thought to have been uploaded. The bureau says it is aware of the site but has not revealed whether they will be investigating.
More names were added throughout Monday, including Britney Spears and former presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
The website uses an internet suffix assigned to the Soviet Union and includes some unflattering pictures of the people who are mentioned.
It did not state how it sourced the information but did include an anti-police message written in Russian.
One of the site’s pages also made reference to the former police officer Christopher Dorner who apparently committed suicide during a large scale manhunt, after he killed four people.
So far representatives for each person targeted either declined to comment on the accuracy of the information that was posted, or they did not return messages seeking comment.

Tickets for all 11 UK concerts go on general sale on Saturday, February 23.

The tour’s namesake, Mrs. Carter Show, is a nod to Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z – whose real name is Shawn Carter.
It is rumored that Jay-Z might make a few surprise appearances on stage with his wife for the highly anticipated shows.
The tour is set to be kicked off in Belgrade, Serbia on April 15 and the European leg comes to an end in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 29.
Beyonce will then take a month’s break before returning to the stage at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on June 28.
The singer will end the tour on August 3 in her spouse’s hometown of Brooklyn, New York.
The final show will take place at the newly-built Barclay’s Centre, which Beyonce owns a share of.
The tour farewell performance will not only be sentimental for her husband but for Beyonce as well.
It will be a true homecoming for the mother-of-one, who along with Jay-Z rents out a basement suite at the Barclay for $1 million per year.
Beyonce appears to have found joy again after the painful miscarriage she suffered two years ago with daughter Blue Ivy in a leaked image from HBO documentary Life Is But A Dream, which is set to air on Saturday night.
Beyonce is shown gazing lovingly at the one-year-old baby girl, who turned one-year-old on January 7.
In the image from the film, Beyonce, 31, looks bare-faced and glowing, her signature blonde mane styled in tight braids.

Amanda Bynes branded Jay-Z “ugly face” on her Twitter page.
It was not long before the message was deleted, which suggests Amanda Bynes either had second thoughts or her account was hacked.
In fact there was a massive cull on Amanda Bynes’ page, with just 13 messages being left by the time she had done deleting.
Amanda Bynes, 26, made no reference to the previous message, with neither an apology or an explanation anywhere to be seen.
Instead she seemed in quite a jubilant mood, as she self-indulgently posted an image of herself posing in front of a mirror while wearing cheesy grin on her face.

Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, has obviously taken the proclamation in his stride, as he has not stooped to the level of responding with a message of his own.
In fact the rapper seemed remarkably at ease as he spent time with wife Beyonce and daughter Blue Ivy Carter in Venice.
It is not the first time Amanda Bynes has landed herself in hot water because of Twitter.
She has caused a stir in the past after posting messages such as “live fast die young”, posted a picture of her breasts at New Year and boasted of her preference for “chocolate men” while she dated rapper Kid Cudi in 2010.
Beyonce formally announced the tour dates for her Mrs. Carter Show world tour on her website Sunday night.

The title was first leaked on Friday when ticketing giant LiveNation accidentally posted a promotional poster for Beyonce’s not-yet-announced world tour on its UK site.

In the promotional image published Friday, Beyonce Knowles looks every bit the queen of pop with a billowing Victorian updo topped with a crown and golden royal-looking garb.
The snap appears to be part of a royal theme for her performances, which was also used as the story line for an O2 advert released last week that promoted the UK leg of her tour.
Beyonce, who celebrated her daughter’s first birthday on January 7, had been keeping mum on any plans to return on tour until last week at an NFL press conference.
Instead, she was joined by her former Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams – as well as a couple of holograms of herself.
“I may have an announcement after the performance,” she said Thursday.
“Fans should just stay tuned to see.”
The tour’s name has also fuelled speculation that Beyonce and Jay-Z might perform together, and there were even rumors the 43-year-old rap star would join his wife onstage when she performed during this Sunday’s half-time show.

Beyonce’s Destiny’s Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, are also rumored to be joining her onstage.
The girl-group trio just released their first single in eight years, Nuclear, on their compilation Love Songs.
Speaking of album releases, Beyonce is said to have already recorded 50 songs while working on her follow-up album to 4.
Beyonce has opened up about her heartbreaking miscarriage for the first time in her upcoming HBO documentary, Life Is But a Dream.
Beyonce, 31, suffered the loss several years before the birth of her daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January 2012.
“About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time,” Beyonce says in a preview.
“And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life.”
“I picked out names,” the singer recalls.
“I envisioned what my child would look like… I was feeling very maternal.”
Beyonce lost the child in the early stages of her pregnancy.
“I flew back to New York to get my check up – and no heartbeat,” she says.
“Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat.”
Beyonce, who married Jay-Z in April 2008, turned to music to help her get through her pain.
“I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I’ve ever written in my life,” she says, but doesn’t name the track.
“And it was actually the first song I wrote for my album.
“And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I’ve ever been through.”
Jay-Z first referenced the loss in Glory, a track recorded within days of Blue Ivy’s birth in January 2012.

Beyonce was thrilled when she discovered she was expecting Blue Ivy and found it hard to keep the news to herself to begin with.
“Being pregnant was very much like falling in love. You are so open. You are so overjoyed.
“There’s no words that can express having a baby growing inside of you, so of course you want to scream it out and tell everyone.”
After cautiously keeping her second pregnancy a secret, Beyonce finally revealed her bump at MTV Video Music Awards in August 2011.
Beyonce famously rubbed her tummy during a performance of Love On Top and it went on to become the most-tweeted months of the year.
The documentary attempts to show the other, more vulnerable and human side of Beyonce.
In a previous clip, she says: “People see celebrities and they have money and fame, but I’m a human being.”
“I cry, I get scared, I get nervous just like everyone else.”
Beyonce shares tender and very candid moments from her pregnancy with Blue Ivy, showing her bare pregnant belly and even a sonogram of her unborn daughter.
Of course, Beyonce is now gearing up to perform at the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Sunday.
Beyonce – who was criticized earlier this month for allegedly miming the American national anthem at President Barack Obama’s inauguration – is said to have been preparing to perform live since the end of October.
She is now feeling the pressure to wow the audience despite believing she did nothing wrong during her performance in Washington DC.
A source close to Beyonce said she was very disappointed and felt “a technicality which everybody does took away from the beauty of the moment”.
“She didn’t think there was anything wrong with it. Pavarotti has done it! It was freezing out, and if she messed up just one note, that would have been the story.
“Everybody uses these tracks, and the music director advised it. Any big outdoor live performance is almost always with some kind of track.
“She did sing, but used a track.”

Blue Ivy Carter’s parents, Beyonce and rapper Jay-Z, have bought her the most outrageous luxury yet – her own nursery at a basketball stadium that costs $1 million a year to rent.
Blue Ivy is apparently put in the suite at the Brooklyn Nets ground in New York whenever her father performs on stage or is watching a game.
Jay-Z did eight shows to open the stadium last year as he grew up nearby and is a fan of the team.
He and Beyonce’s decision to rent the suite comes after they already showered their one-year-old daughter with more gifts than most children can dream of.
When she was just five days old the couple bought her a $21,000 “fantasy crib” made of solid cedar and birch.
Then there’s the $16,000 high chair lined with Swarovski crystals designed by Carla Monchen from which she can eat her food when she is old enough.
And let’s not forget the clothes: Blue Ivy has already been bought a $290 Jean Paul Gaultier silk dress to get her wardrobe started.
According to US Weekly, the suite at the Brooklyn Nets stadium is ‘filled with toys’ to keep the toddler entertained.
Blue Ivy, Jay-Z and Beyonce’s daughter, has own $1million nursery suite at New York’s Barclays Center
The decor is said to be mostly glass and there is a TV screen so she can also watch him perform.
Beyonce, 31, and Jay-Z are amongst the highest earning and most successful celebrities on Earth – she is worth around $300 million due to her singing with Destiny’s Child and her solo career, her clothing line and numerous investments.
Jay-Z, 43, is said to be worth $450 million on the back of his incredibly successful recording career and investments.
They have not been the only ones pampering their daughter and the child has reportedly be inundated with gifts from the likes of Sean Combs, Kanye West, Rihanna, Mary J Blige and Mariah Carey.
Among the more extravagant gifts already sent by their celebrity friends was a $4,700 Swarovski crystal-studded baby bath from Beyonce’s former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland.
The 3,000lb porcelain tub is studded with 44,928 crystals that Californian interior designer Lori Gardner spent more than two months applying by hand.
Kelly Rowland also bought a green Bob Marley one-piece and several cashmere baby blankets at a cost of $300 each.
Oprah Winfrey even sent a case of her favorite children’s books to get Blue Ivy off to a good start with her reading.
The outpouring has not stopped Beyonce herself splashing out herself, including the crib from high end baby firm Posh Tots, which has in the past sold items to Julia Roberts, Donald and Vanessa Trump and Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.
After the birth she and Jay-Z also ensured their newborn travelled home in style in a luxury van with blacked out windows and a pimped-up interior.
The leather seats, satellite TV, minibar and car stereo of the $125,000 Mercedes Sprinter Van Grand Edition made it look like it had come straight out of one of her father’s hip hop videos.
Beyonce’s baby was born in January last year weighing 7 lbs amid a $125,000 security operation which saw a bulletproof door temporarily installed at the entrance to Beyonce’s room at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
The happy couple said at that the “birth was emotional and extremely peaceful; we are in heaven”.
Jay-Z was filmed taking the New York underground to his latest gig, surrounded by his entourage of man-mountain bodyguards, producers and a film crew.
Jay-Z, 43, starts a near riot when he enters the Canal Street Station, ticket in hand.
He is first seen passing a sign to the J/Z subway line to Brooklyn, the line that he rode home as a child and later named himself after
But when he boards the line for the Barclays Center and sits down on the only available seat, a grey-haired woman on the adjoining seat asks: “Are you famous?”
Jay-Z, who is worth nearly $500 million, has sold approximately 50 million albums and received 14 Grammy Awards for his work, responds: “Not very famous, you don’t know me. But I’ll get there some day.”
He adds: “My name is Jay, what’s your name?”
“Ellen,” she smiles.
“What do you do?”
“I make music,” he replies before explaining that he has just completed eight shows and was en route to the Barclays Center to perform the last.
“Fabulous,” Ellen replies.
“And you are getting on the subway. I’m proud of you.”
Jay-Z talks to old lady on subway and she has no idea who he is
She then asks him to repeat his name.
“Jay. Jay-Z,” he replies.
Then the penny drops and Ellen exclaims: “Oh, you’re Jay-Z. I know about Jay-Z.”
It was a touching vignette that reveals how the barrier of fame can be broken down with a few small words.
Ellen is in fact Ellen Grossman, a successful Brooklyn-based artist herself.
The episode is part of a 24-minute documentary about the opening of Brooklyn’s new Barclays Center, posted by Jay-Z’s culture website Life+Times.
The video takes viewers behind the scenes of his string of gigs at the venue, with footage of rehearsals and the live shows, climaxing at the center on September 28.
Jay-Z said that performing in his hometown was better than performing at the Grammys, Glastonbury or Coachella. He yelled to the crowd of 18,000: “Nothing feels like tonight!”
The arena was full of exciting concertgoers, as the chaotic crowd made way to their seats after waiting outside to enter the building. Jay-Z emerged onstage as a video about Brooklyn’s history played in the background.
He opened with his songs about Brooklyn – Where I’m From and Brooklyn Go Hard. He also performed two songs from fellow Brooklynite Notorious B.I.G. He then held a moment of silence for the late rap veteran.
He told the crowd when B.I.G.’s Juicy played: “Sing loud so he can hear you in heaven.”
The rapper is the co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets, who play at the new arena.

Robert De Niro started an argument with Jay-Z at Leonardo DiCaprio’s birthday party in New York after the rapper failed to return not just one, but six of his phone calls.
Robert De Niro, 69, was sitting at a table at the upscale bash when Jay-Z came over to say hello, but the Raging Bull star was in no mood to be friendly.
A New York Post insider then overheard Robert De Niro complaining the rapper, who lives near the Oscar winner in the posh TriBeCa area, agreed to record a song for the Tribeca Film Festival, but failed to follow through.
Robert De Niro rang Jay-Z on several occasions to plan the project, but his calls were never so much as returned.
The insider said: “Bob wasn’t in any mood to make polite conversation.
“He told Jay that if somebody calls you six times, you call them back.
“It doesn’t matter who you are, that is just rude.”
Robert De Niro started an argument with Jay-Z at Leonardo DiCaprio’s birthday party after the rapper failed to return his calls
Jay-Z tried make light of the situation by claiming he is terrible on the phone, but that failed to douse Robert De Niro’s anger, and he continued to humiliate his foe in front of the likes of Martin Scorsese, Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.
Even the feminine charms of his curvy wife Beyonce were not enough to get him off his high horse.
The source said: “De Niro kept telling him that he thinks he’s the man, but that he was disrespectful.
“Beyoncé came over, but that didn’t calm Bob down.
“It was the talk of the party. Everyone was saying there’s only one star in New York bigger and badder than Jay-Z, and that’s Robert De Niro.
“He can be quite scary when he’s angry.”
The latter is certainly an understatement, given his fame for playing characters with explosive tempers in the likes of Goodfellas and Raging Bull.
However, a source close to Robert De Niro tried to play down the seriousness of the incident.
The insider said: “It was a low-key private conversation between two people that was apparently overheard. It was not a heated discussion.”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have lost a battle to trademark the name of their baby daughter Blue Ivy.
The celebrity couple had filed legal papers to protect the name of their first born child soon after her birth in January.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z were said to be planning to launch a range of baby products and clothes called Blue Ivy that would have added to their already substantial fortune of more than $1.1 billion.
But the pair have lost out on trade marking their daughter’s name to a small wedding planner based in Boston who had called her company Blue Ivy in 2009.
The ruling from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office means Beyoncé and Jay-Z have no legal right to keep the name to themselves.
Veronica Alexandra, the owner of Blue Ivy, found herself up against the most powerful couple in show business soon after they revealed the unusual name for their daughter.
Days after the birth of Blue Ivy Carter in January Jay-Z and his wife filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect the baby’s name.
The move followed two unsuccessful applications from New York based fashion designers who tried to trademark the name.
The trademark office denied both filings, saying the name belonged to a “very famous infant” and consumers would falsely assume that the products were approved by the celebrity parents.
But event and wedding planner Veronica Alexandra, 32, said she was forced to file her own application as she feared she could be put out of business if the power celebrity couple were successful.
She said: “My company had been called Blue Ivy since 2009. I came up with the name, and if they had won my business could have been restricted.
“It was important for me to protect the name of my company. We are very successful as wedding planners and wanted to stay that way.
“Of course Blue Ivy is a lovely name, but I had to make sure that I would be able to continue using it for my business.”
Veronica Alexandra, whose office is in Boston, Massachusetts, said she had no hard feelings towards Beyoncé and her husband.
A photograph of the pair on her company’s website says: “Congrats to our soul mate couple with baby Blue Ivy.”
Veronica Alexandra, a former Harvard graduate, chose the name Blue Ivy to make her company stand-out among the crowed market of wedding planners.
She said: “Blue is a very powerful color used by any companies and Ivy conjures up a very romantic image. I was very happy with the name, and of course business spiked after Beyoncé called her baby Blue Ivy. We do between 40 and 60 weddings a year.”
Veronica Alexandra said she would happily relinquish her rights to the Blue Ivy name if the couple were to make her an offer.
“If Beyoncé and Jay-Z want to buy me out I’d welcome that,” she said.
The couple has never revealed their reasons for naming their daughter Blue Ivy.
The color blue is said to be Jay-Z’s favorite having released three albums called Blueprint.
That middle name “Ivy”, reportedly references the Roman numeral IV for 4 – a significant digit for both Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
Beyoncé ‘s birthday is September 4, Jay-Z’s is December 4, they were married on April 4, 2008, and the singer’s latest album is entitled 4.
Kris Humphries appears on the cover of the new Page Six magazine, looking dapper in a tweed three-piece suit, complete with bow tie.
However, his most eye-catching accessories are the two stunning models pictured next to him, with a blonde and a brunette dripping off each arm.
Kris Humphries, 27, opens up about his desires to start a family one day, and touches on his failed marriage to Kim Kardashian in the accompanying interview.
The Brooklyn Nets star, who is currently embroiled in a fierce divorce battle with Kim Kardashian, told the September 6 issue of the magazine: “Some people just make bad decisions and you just know it’s not what’s meant to be.”

However, Kris Humphries says he is managing to keep a positive outlook on life: “The decisions that you make, you obviously make for a reason. Everything in life for me has just been moving forward.”
He also played down his Twitter spats with Kim Kardashian’s new boyfriend Kanye West, who dissed him in one of his songs.
In the lyrics to Way Too Cold, Kanye West professed his love for Kim Kardashian and joked about her ex Kris Humphries: “Lucky I didn’t have Jay drop him from the team.”
Kanye West was referring to his pal Jay-Z, a minority owner of the Brooklyn Nets franchise.
When Kris Humphries signed a two-year deal with team worth $24 million two months later, he used it as a excuse to fire back at Kanye West, tweeting: “I’m up at Brooklyn… lucky I didn’t have Jay drop me from the team lol!”
Referring to the cyber row, Kris Humphries told Page Six: “I have a sense of humor. It’s whatever, I joke around. It was what it was. Take from it what you will.”
Kris Humphries also talked about starting a family one day, but didn’t put a timetable on when.
He was recently the subject of paternity reports following a fling with Myla Sinanaj – however it later transpired she was not in fact pregnant.
Speaking about settling down, Kris Humphries added: “I think everyone wants a family of their own one day.
“You’re at the point in your life when all of your friends are married and stuff. For me, at least, everyone runs their own race. You can’t put a timetable on it.”
Opening up about his fashion tastes, Kris Humphries revealed he has been working closely with stylists to carve out a look for himself.
“I think about my style as, like, London meets Italy – edgy but, you know, classic at the same time,” he said.
“I’ve been working with stylists. You don’t want to be looking like you just came out of a Big & Tall shop, you know.”
