Star Wars: Boba Fett’s Voice Jason Wingreen Dies Aged 95
Actor Jason Wingreen, who provided the voice of Star Wars character Boba Fett, has died at the age of 95.
Jason Wingreen’s son Ned told the Hollywood Reporter he died at his home in Los Angeles on Christmas Day.
The actor also played Harry the barkeeper in the sitcoms All in the Family and Archie Bunker’s Place between 1976 and 1983.
Jason Wingreen was the voice of the bounty hunter Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back.
The actor only had four lines of dialogue but the character has become a favorite with his own fan club.
In 2004, when director George Lucas re-released the original trilogy, Jason Wingreen’s voice was replaced by Temuera Morrison, who played Boba Fett’s father, Jango Fett, in the prequel movies.
The role of Boba Fett was physically played by Jeremy Bulloch.
Jason Wingreen also appeared in many TV series. He was a regular on The Untouchables and appeared in the original Twilight Zone and Star Trek series.
