Hollywood icon Maureen O’Hara has died aged 95, her manager announced.
The Irish-American actress, one of the last living stars from the golden age of Hollywood, died in her sleep at her home in Boise, Idaho, Johnny Nicoletti said.
Maureen O’Hara starred in the 1941 multi-Oscar winning drama, How Green Was My Valley, set in a Welsh mining village.

The actress also regularly featured alongside John Wayne, in movies such as TheQuiet Man.
Born in Dublin, Maureen O’Hara moved to Hollywood in 1939 and later became a US citizen.
“Her characters were feisty and fearless, just as she was in real life,” her family said in a statement.
“She was also proudly Irish and spent her entire lifetime sharing her heritage and the wonderful culture of the Emerald Isle with the world.”

The actor follows the likes of Brad Pitt, Jonny Depp and Jennifer Aniston in leaving their mark.
Robert De Niro has been nominated for best supporting actor Oscar for his role in Silver Linings Playbook.
Speaking about his home town at the ceremony, Robert De Niro said: “I’m am New Yorker, it’s where I was born, it’s where I live, it’s where I raise my kids, it’s where I started a film festival. It’s home. But Hollywood is home too.
“They say everyone in the film industry has three homes – the home where there live, the home where their first wife lives and Hollywood.”
Silver Linings Playbook director David O Russell – whose film has become the first to win nominations in all four acting categories at the Oscars for more than 30 years – was present at the ceremony, as was Robert De Niro’s wife, Grace Hightower.

Billy Crystal, who starred opposite the double Oscar winner in Analyze This and Analyze That, was also on hand to support his long-time friend.
“I’m not used to playing straight for anybody. But it was a thrill of a lifetime to be on the opposite side of that genius and see how it worked. And just by being with him made me such a better actor.”
Robert De Niro is nominated alongside Argo‘s Alan Arkin, Philip Seymour Hoffman for his role in The Master, Lincoln‘s Tommy Lee Jones and Christoph Waltz for Django Unchained for best supporting actor at the Oscars which take place February 24.
