All of us are already familiar with the life of certain celebrities who decided to skip college and commit to a career that eventually made them famous. Some of these examples are Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Lady Gaga, Al Pacino, etc. This, of course, does not mean that after reading this text you should rush to leave your university. On the contrary, these are just tips that can be helpful in whatever life cycle you currently are.
Follow your dream
You got into a certain college because that move was expected of you or you simply thought that you can find happiness in doing a certain profession. If you happen to realize that this college and future job are not for you, you can always take a step back. This is the time to clearly analyze the situation as well as your own wishes and preferences. Focus on something that fulfils you. By doing so, you can find a completely new career that would suit you the best and change colleges. In case you’re still not ready to choose and accept that you need and deserve some more time, it’s perfectly fine to dedicate yourself to a hobby and redirect your talents to whatever feels comfortable even if it doesn’t seem profitable in the beginning.
Listen to your inner voice
Be persistent even when your immediate surroundings aren’t. Nobody got rich overnight. Work hard to achieve the goal you want. This clearly defined goal can be your secret strength and power when your enthusiasm fails you or when negative thoughts such as finding no perspective in what you do occupy your mind. If you feel it right in your gut, you’ve definitely made a right choice.
Believe in yourself
Be aware of your strengths and weaknesses and use them both to your advantage. Believing in yourself doesn’t mean that you have to negate your whole personality to make room for positive traits only. Actually, if you’re aware of your weaknesses you can make an effort to overcome them and be wary of them. Also, don’t be modest with your personal virtues. Use everything you’ve got as an advantage over the competition.
Improve yourself constantly
No one is born with the entire world’s knowledge. Just because you’ve decided that sitting in the university lectures is not for you doesn’t mean that you should give up studying. Quite the opposite. Take up a course in the area of your personal interest. That way you can meet like-minded people who can help and direct you. Also, this is a much faster way to obtain a certificate which can serve as a springboard for your future career advancement.
Do not waste time on insignificant details
You must have noticed that Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg always dress the same. They decided that spending time picking clothes is only going to waste when they can use this time wisely and do something constructive at their job. If you have your own small business do both of you a favor – wear branded promotional T-shirts that you use as a promotional gift. That way you won’t have to worry about your outfit and will do some smart advertising at the same time. Be practical and don’t let little things distract you from the desired goal.
Learn to listen to your needs. If you feel constrained and stressed dare to take a step out of the comfort zone. No one knows better than you what you need at any given time. Be brave and bold. If you don’t try to move, you increase the risk of depression. Do what it takes to get up in the morning with a big smile and in good spirits. Change yourself and your environment in a positive way and be an example to others that anything is possible.
Al Pacino has been transformed into legendary music producer Phil Spector for his latest role in the HBO production.
Al Pacino, 72, stars in the controversial made-for-TV film Phil Spector, who was convicted of murder in 2009.
Pictured with Al Pacino is his co-star Helen Mirren.
Dame Helen Mirren portrays Phil Spector’s defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden.
Though the two are only five-years apart in age, Helen Mirren’s fresh-faced and pale complexion makes Al Pacino’s character look rather weather-beaten.
Al Pacino’s own persona could not be further from the convict he embodies in the upcoming film.
Phil Spector was not only famous for his Wall of Sound production technique, which scored him a slew of hits including The Beatles’ Let It Be, but also for his eccentric hairstyles.
Al Pacino donned a variety of wigs to play the notorious music producer.
But the transformation went deeper than mere head adornments.
Al Pacino recently said he didn’t try to perfectly mimic Phil Spector or meet with him. Instead he “would sit for hours just looking at Phil talking about things”, on videotape.
The actor tried to capture the essence of the man in order to develop a character who was a real human being in his own right – not just a cheap imitation of Phil Spector.

Helen Mirren admitted that working on the film was “like a strange dream you are having”.
She further explained: “The nature of Phil Spector and the life that he lived encouraged that. He seemed to live in a permanent dream.”
Phil Spector movie is closer to a dream than reality as it depicts writer-director David Mamet’s re-imagining of the events, rather than a retelling of the plain facts of the case.
The HBO film comes with a disclaimer explaining that it is a work of fiction, “inspired by actual persons in a trial, but it is neither an attempt to depict the actual persons, nor to comment upon the outcome”.
What is known to be true about the murder trial’s outcome is that Phil Spector will most likely spend the rest of his life in prison.
Phil Spector’s initial trial in 2007 for the murder of Lana Clarkson, who died from a gunshot wound to the head, ended in a deadlocked jury.
But a second jury in 2009 found him guilty of second degree murder with a sentence of 19 years hard time.
HBO’s Phil Spector is set for release on March 24.

Al Pacino and Brian de Palma are teaming up for the first time in 20 years to make Happy Valley, a film about disgraced American football coach Joe Paterno.
Al Pacino and Brian de Palma, who worked together on Scarface and Carlito’s Way, are joining forces for Happy Valley, which tells the story of Joe Paterno.
Penn State coach Joe Paterno, who died last year, allegedly covered up child sex abuse by his assistant Jerry Sandusky.
The film will be produced by Edward R. Pressman of American Psycho fame.
Edward R. Pressman, who has acquired the movie rights from Joe Posnanski, author of the best-seller Paterno, said: “Happy Valley reunites the Scarface and Carlito’s Way team of De Palma and Pacino for the third time.
“And I can’t think of a better duo to tell this story of a complex, intensely righteous man who was brought down by his own tragic flaw.”

In July last year, six months after Joe Paterno’s death from lung cancer, all of Penn State’s results from 1998 to 2011 were expunged from the records as the result of the child abuse scandal which saw Sandusky jailed for 30 years after being found guilty of 45 counts of sexual abuse.
Al Pacino and Brian de Palma originally worked together on 1983’s Scarface – a remake of a 1930s film – which saw Pacino portray a Cuban refugee who becomes a drug cartel kingpin in the US before his life gradually unravels.
Ten years later the pair reunited for Carlito’s Way – the tale of a career criminal whose determined bid to go straight hits the buffers.
Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, who died in January, is about to be immortalized in a new movie starring Hollywood legend Al Pacino.
Al Pacino has agreed to take on the controversial role in a film based on the New York Times bestselling book Paterno.
The movie is still in the early stages of development, but respected Hollywood entertainment blog deadline.com is reporting that it will be shopped around Los Angeles early next week.
Joe Paterno was fired for his alleged role in covering up the child molestation scandal involving assistant coach Jerry Sandusky who was revealed to be a pedophile.
His death came just two months after he was let go by Penn State in November of 2011.

The new book, which was penned by former Sports Illustrated columnist Joe Posnanski, takes an in depth look at Joe Paterno’s relationship with Jerry Sandusky.
Jerry Sandusky was convicted and awaits sentencing on child sexual abuse.
As the scandal erupted, it was revealed that Joe Paterno had been told by graduate assistant Mike McQueary that jerry Sandusky had raped a boy in the Penn State locker room showers.
In addition, an independent report conducted by former FBI director Louis Freeh, concluded that Joe Paterno, as well as other Penn State bigwigs, “failed to protect against a child sexual predator harming children for over a decade”.
Joe Posnanski’s book, however disputes those claims, saying that Joe Paterno did not know Jerry Sandusky had sexually abused children, and when he read the list of charges against Sandusky, he asked his son Scott: “What is sodomy, anyway?”
Jerry Sandusky was convicted in June of sexually assaulting 10 boys over 15 years.
Movie legend Al Pacino was looking all his 72 years as he stepped out yesterday with leathery, wrinkled skin, lending him a slightly haggard appearance.
Al Pacino was seen on a stroll holding his coffee and wearing a black sports coat over a vest and grey trousers.
The Oscar winner, who is best known for starring in classic gangster dramas like The Godfather and Scarface, has been known for his leading man looks.

Al Pacino still has an enviable head of salt-and-pepper hair for his age, which looked like he’d just rolled out of bed and he’s grown a matching goatee.
Al is still looking better than many of his over-70 contemporaries Clint Eastwood and Jack Nicholson.
However, the Hollywood icon’s disheveled appearance will only add to his role as the sad-sack salesman Shelley Levene in the Broadway revival staging of Glengarry Glen Ross.
Al Pacino originated the role of slick salesman Ricky Roma in the 1992 film version of David Mamet’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, but Bobby Canavale will play the part for the revival.
He will be taking on Shelley, the washed-up salesman suffering from a long-running slump and a sick daughter, who was originally portrayed by Jack Lemmon.
Glengarry Glen Ross, staged in honor of the play’s 30th anniversary, will start previews on October 16 and officially open on November 11 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
David Mamet also wrote and directed Al Pacino in the Phil Spector biopic for HBO, premiering next year.
Al Pacino will play the notorious music producer who was convicted of killing a model.
The cinematic icon will also provide his vocal talents for Despicable Me 2 and he just wrapped The Standup Guys, a comedy also starring Alan Arkin, Christopher Walken, and Julianna Margulies.
