Ukraine’s ex-PM Yulia Tymoshenko has been caught in a leaked taped phone call with parliamentarian Nestor Shufrych, talking about it is “time to go grab guns and kill those damned Russians with their leader,” so that “not even scorched earth will be left where Russia stands”.
Translations also capture Yulia Tymoshenko as saying she would “like to grab a machine gun and shoot that motherf***er in the head”.
According to the Moscow Times, the recording, apparently made March 8, details a conversation between Yulia Tymoshenko and Nestor Shufrych from Ukraine’s National Security Council, and has Tymoshenko suggesting that Ukrainians should kill Russians, and, in particular, Russian President Vladimir Putin. The recording, which may have been altered, also apparently features Yulia Tymoshenko suggesting that the 8 million Russians living in Ukraine should be killed with “nuclear weapons”.

The video containing the recording was initially uploaded to a YouTube account under the name Sergiy Vechirko, and has since been widely shared on pro-Kremlin media outlets.
While the Moscow Times reports that Nestor Shufrych has denied the recording is real, a tweet from Yulia Tymoshenko appears to suggest she believes at least part of it is real.
In her tweet, Yulia Tymoshenko says that the recording has been edited, and that she in fact said that the Russians in Ukraine “were Ukrainian”.
She also added: “Hello FSB :)” in reference to Russia’s security agency.
Yulia Tymoshenko, widely considered a potential candidate for the Ukrainian presidential election in May, does not have a reputation for being anti-Russia, which has struck some as strange, and had enjoyed a working relationship with Vladimir Putin in the past.
HTC One (M8) features a depth sensor to let owners change what appears in focus in photos after they are taken.
HTC’s new flagship Android smartphone also features a bigger screen and louder speakers than the previous model.
The Taiwanese company said the device should turn around recent weak earnings and help it recover market share.
But experts said Samsung and Apple’s bigger marketing budgets would continue to put HTC at a disadvantage.
HTC only shipped 6.4 million units of the original HTC One model last year, according to the research firm IDC.
That compares with 43.3 million shipped copies of Samsung’s Galaxy S4 and 39.5 million shipped units of Apple’s iPhone 5S, which also launched in 2013.

Across its portfolio as a whole, HTC actually sold fewer handsets in 2013 than 2012 despite growth in the wider market.
One of the new handset’s distinguishing features is a sensor on its back used to record distance.
The information is used by an app to allow the owner to mimic the effect of changing focus after a photo is taken, keeping selected objects sharp but blurring others.
It also allows users to add stylized effects to a photo’s background while keeping its main subject unaltered.
Another innovation is the ability to activate the phone without having to press its on-button. Swiping the screen in different ways takes the user to either what they were last doing, the home screen or a feed of news stories and social media updates.
HTC also boasts that battery life is 40% better than before even though it has a bigger, 5in screen.
However, it lacks a fingerprint scanner despite the firm’s inclusion of the security feature on the One Max handset.
Despite winning several awards, sales of the original HTC One underperformed.
HTC said that part of the problem was production delays caused by its use of a unibody metal case and a new type of camera.
After Duck Dynasty’s Mia Robertson underwent her recent facial cleft surgery, the Robertson family has started a non-profit organization to help raise awareness and to help fund research for children with cleft lips and palates.
Missy and Jase Robertson’s daughter had surgery on January 3, and is recovering speedily.

Mia Robertson, now 11, was born with a facial cleft, and had her first surgery when she was just three months old. Cleft lips and palates form in the womb, resulting in a gap in the upper lip or the roof of the mouth because the tissue did not fully form during early pregnancy.
Jase and Missy Robertson started the Mia Moo Fund, a non-profit organization to help raise awareness and fund research for causes and treatments of cleft lips and palates.
Wednesday’s Duck Dynasty Season 5 finale will center on Mia Robertson’s journey with a facial cleft and highlight how her family has rallied around her in loving support and prayer.
The Boston FBI agent that killed Ibragim Todashev – a friend of Boston Marathon suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was justified in fatally shooting him, a Florida prosecutor said.
The prosecutor said Ibragim Todashev was a “fearless fighter” who brandished a long metal pole as he attacked the agent and a Massachusetts state trooper who had been interviewing him in his Orlando apartment.
Shortly afterward, the Department of Justice’s civil rights division also cleared the agent.
Ibragim Todashev sustained seven gunshot wounds in the incident, according to an autopsy.
“My conclusion, based upon the facts presented to me in this investigation, is that the actions of the Special Agent of the FBI were justified in self-defense and defense of another,” State Attorney Jeffrey L. Ashton said in a letter communicating the findings of his investigation to FBI Director James Comey.
Ibragim Todashev, a 27-year-old mixed-martial arts fighter, had allegedly just confessed to a role in the 2011 killings of three Waltham men, a crime in which Tamerlan Tsarnaev has also been eyed as a suspect.
The letter said that two Massachusetts state troopers and the FBI agent interviewed Ibragim Todashev for 4½ hours during which he admitted “some involvement in the triple homicide that was under investigation”.

One of the troopers left the room after Ibragim Todashev agreed to prepare a written statement describing his involvement. Ibragim Todashev’s demeanor changed at that point, the letter said.
While neither the trooper nor the agent left in the room was looking, a coffee table “is propelled into the air” striking the FBI agent in the head. Ibragim Todashev ran to the kitchen and could be heard rummaging through drawers, apparently looking for something, the letter said.
The trooper then allegedly saw Ibragim Todashev “moving in his direction carrying a long pole of some sort … with the end of the pole pointed toward him as if intended to be used to impale rather than strike,” the letter said.
The FBI agent fired three to four shots from his .40-caliber Glock 23 pistol at Ibragim Todashev as he advanced. Ibragim Todashev was dropped to his knees but was not incapacitated and “immediately sprung toward the officers in what the [trooper] describes as a low angled lunge”. The FBI agent fired three to four more shots, incapacitating and killing Ibragim Todashev, the letter said.
The law enforcement agents knew of Ibragim Todashev’s history as a skilled martial arts fighter, having reviewed his fights on video. They were also aware of recent violent confrontations he had been in both Florida and in Massachusetts, the letter said.
At the moment of the final fray, Ibragim Todashev had easy access to a door behind him to flee, but instead of fleeing, he appeared to choose to fight, the letter said.
“There is no evidence of close range firing in any of the gunshot wounds,’’ the report said. The medical examiner said six bullets were recovered from Ibragim Todashev’s body.
The report marked the first detailed public findings about the fatal shooting of Ibragim Todashev since the May 22 incident. The FBI’s own internal review was completed months ago, and it was awaiting the final review by the Department of Justice.
For more than 10 months, the bureau refused to release the autopsy results or basic details, such as whether Ibragim Todashev was armed, leading to widespread skepticism about the integrity of the investigation.
Ibragim Todashev’s father, Abdulbaki Todashev, a government official on leave in Todashev’s native Chechnya, a region in southern Russia, has said in the past that he would consider a wrongful death lawsuit against the bureau. He has also sent photos of his son’s bullet-ridden body to President Barack Obama and urged him to investigate the case.
President Barack Obama has called on Americans to pray for the victims of the landslide in Washington which has claimed at least 14 lives.
Officials say as many as 176 people remain unaccounted for after the 177ft wall of mud hit near the town of Oso, north of Seattle, on Saturday.
Emergency officials said they expected the death toll to rise throughout Tuesday as they comb the debris field.
Search crews have worked day and night, using helicopters and laser imaging.
“The total fatality rate remains at 14 and we’re expecting that number to go up throughout the day,” local fire chief Travis Hots told reporters on Tuesday.

At a news conference in the Netherlands earlier, Barack Obama asked all Americans to send their thoughts and prayers to the victims.
“We know that part of this tightly knit community has been lost,” he said.
“We hope for the best, but recognize this is a tough situation.”
Barack Obama has declared an emergency in Washington State and ordered federal authorities to co-ordinate the disaster relief effort.
Washington Governor Jay Inslee – after surveying the area from the air – said it was “devastation beyond imagination”.
Jay Inslee said the slide “basically cut a mountain in two” and deposited it on the town below. Nothing in the path of the slide was still standing.
Family members and volunteers were using chainsaws and their bare hands to shift the wreckage and try to find those missing.
Snohomish County emergency management director John Pennington has said the official list of the missing stood at 176.
About 30 homes were destroyed and more than half the town of Oso is missing – a recent census put its population at 180.
Copenhagen Zoo that provoked outrage after putting down a healthy giraffe has killed a family of four lions to make way for a new young male lion.
The Danish zoo says it “had to euthanize” two cubs and their parents after it failed to re-home them.
The 16-year-old male and 14-year-old female were nearing the end of their natural lives in captivity, it added.
Last month, Copenhagen Zoo killed Marius the giraffe because it was deemed surplus to requirements.

“Because of the pride of lions’ natural structure and behavior, the zoo has had to euthanize the two old lions and two young lions who were not old enough to fend for themselves,” the zoo said in a statement.
According to zookeepers, the male cub “would have been killed by the new male lion as soon as he got the chance.”
The zoo said it had asked other parks to take the 10-month-old cubs, but had received no offers.
The new male lion is due to arrive in the next few days and will be introduced to the zoo’s two female lions who, born in 2012, have reached breeding age.
Last month, the manager of the zoo received death threats after healthy two-year-old giraffe Marius was put down and later dissected in front of visitors.
Copenhagen Zoo said the animal did not fit in with the park’s breeding program but the move shocked animal lovers across the world.
Despite the outcry over the death, the zoo said it did not believe it was necessary to change its procedures.
A spokesman for Copenhagen Zoo said there would be no public dissection of the lions since “not all our animals are dissected in front of an audience”.
On Monday, police Capt. Francois Moller revealed in court at Oscar Pistorius’ trial that he had been able to extract some 35,000 pages’ worth of text messages from Reeva Steenkamp’s phone.
Capt. Francois Moller said that 90% of the messages between the couple “were loving”, but he had picked out exceptions.
Correspondents say some of these messages could prove extremely damaging for Oscar Pistorius.
Reeva Steenkamp’s messages paint a picture of the athlete as a jealous and possessive boyfriend prone to anger.
The texts between the couple also suggest Oscar Pistorius asked Reeva Steenkamp to keep quiet over an incident in January 2013 where he allegedly fired a gun at a restaurant – another charge he denies.

“Angel please don’t say a thing to anyone… I can’t afford for that to come out,” Oscar Pistorius wrote.
“I was not flirting with anyone today I feel sick that you suggested that” (Reeva Steenkamp, January 27, 2013)
“I’m scared of you sometimes and how you snap at me and how you will react to me” (Reeva Steenkamp, January 27, 2013)
“I do everything to make you happy and to not say anything to rock the boat with you” (Reeva Steenkamp, January 27, 2013)
“I can’t be attacked by outsiders for dating you and be attacked by you – the one person I deserve protection from” (Reeva Steenkamp, February 8, 2013)
The court heard Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp called each other “Angel” and “Baba”
“Angel please don’t say a thing to anyone…Darren told everyone it was his fault. I can’t afford for that to come out” (Oscar Pistorius, January 11, 2013, following an alleged shooting incident).
Oscar Pistorius’ lawyer, Barry Roux, has denied claims the athlete and his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp were unhappy.
Barry Roux emphasized that among hundreds of “loving” text messages, only four showed signs of arguments.
The lawyer made his case while cross-examining a police captain who had given evidence about the couple’s mobile phones.
Double amputee Oscar Pistorius denies deliberately shooting Reeva Steenkamp last February, saying he thought she was an intruder.
The prosecution has now ended its case and the trial has been adjourned until Friday.
Defense lawyers say Oscar Pistorius will take the stand, but it is not clear when that will be.
The defense is particularly focusing on text messages and calls extracted from the couple’s mobile phones by police Capt. Francois Moller.

Oscar Pistorius, 27, previously said he had forgotten the password to his iPhone and investigators went to the US shortly before the trial began to meet Apple officials to try and gain access to it.
Barry Roux tried to demonstrate that Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp had arguments but these were soon resolved.
Many of the text messages exchanged between the couple were affectionate in tone and showed they were in love, the defense argued on Tuesday.
The defense also played CCTV footage, earlier broadcast by Sky News, showing Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp kissing in a shop.
State prosecutor Gerrie Nel later questioned the relevance of the video.
On Monday Capt. Francois Moller revealed he had been able to extract some 35,000 pages’ worth of messages from Reeva Steenkamp’s phone.
He said that 90% of the messages between the couple were loving, but he had picked out exceptions.
In one message sent on January 27, 2013, Reeva Steenkamp: “I’m scared of you sometimes and how you snap at me and of how you react to me.”
The message was sent after Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp had a row when he accused her of flirting with another man at a friend’s engagement dinner – weeks before he shot her dead.
In another message written a week before her death, she said: “I can’t be attacked by outsiders for dating you and be attacked by you – the one person I deserve protection from.”
Correspondents say some of these messages could prove extremely damaging for Oscar Pistorius.
Reeva Steenkamp’s messages paint a picture of the athlete as a jealous and possessive boyfriend prone to anger.

“Angel please don’t say a thing to anyone… I can’t afford for that to come out,” he wrote.
Oscar Pistorius trial was due to end this week but has been extended and will now run until the middle of May.
The prosecution says it will call upon four more witnesses before closing its case.
The defense team will then call upon its own witnesses, including Oscar Pistorius himself.
Families of Chinese passengers on board the missing Malaysia Airlines plane have clashed with police outside Malaysia’s embassy in Beijing.
It came after Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said a new analysis of satellite data showed the plane had ended its journey in remote seas south-west of Australia.
China has asked to see the data on which Malaysia’s conclusion was based.
The search for missing flight MH370 has been suspended because of bad weather.
Malaysia Airlines disappeared on March 8 as it flew from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board, including 153 Chinese nationals.
In Beijing, relatives of the passengers released a statement accusing the Malaysian government of trying to “delay, distort and hide the truth”.
Dozens then left their Beijing hotel on a protest bound for the Malaysian embassy. Police stopped their buses from leaving, so they got off and walked to the diplomatic mission.
Families of Chinese passengers on board the missing Malaysia Airlines plane have clashed with police outside Malaysia’s embassy in Beijing
Scuffles broke out as protesters threw water bottles and tried to storm the building, demanding to meet the ambassador.
Meanwhile acting Malaysian Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said the latest analysis of satellite data showed a final automatic signal – known as a “handshake” or “ping” – that was still being investigated.
“There is evidence of a partial handshake between the aircraft and ground station at 0019 UTC [GMT],” he told a news conference on Tuesday.
“At this time, this transmission is not understood and is subject to further ongoing work.”
If confirmed, this signal would have been sent more than seven hours after contact with air traffic control was lost, and eight minutes after the last confirmed handshake.
A multinational search effort has focused on seas some 1,500 miles to the south-west of the Australian city of Perth.
Malaysian PM Najib Razak said on Monday it had to be concluded “with deep sadness and regret” that “flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean”.
Najib Raszak said the conclusion the plane was lost was based on new satellite analysis by British firm Inmarsat and information from the UK’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB).
However, Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Xie Hangsheng issued a statement saying: “We demand the Malaysian side state the detailed evidence that leads them to this judgement, as well as supply all the relevant information and evidence about the satellite data analysis.
“The search and rescue work cannot stop now. We demand the Malaysian side continue to finish all the work including search and rescue.”
Ukrainian ultra-nationalist leader Oleksandr Muzychko has been shot dead in what officials describe as a special forces operation.
Oleksandr Muzychko, better known as Sashko Bilyi, died in a shoot-out with police in a cafe in Rivne in western Ukraine, the interior ministry said.
He was a leader of Right Sector, a far-right group which was prominent in the recent anti-government protests.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s parliament has voted to accept the resignation of Defense Minister Ihor Tenyukh.
Ihor Tenyukh had been accused of indecision in the face of Russia’s military takeover of Crimea.
The shooting of Oleksandr Muzychko happened just hours after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Deshchytsia – their first meeting since Russia’s move into Crimea triggered a diplomatic crisis.
Ukraine’s Deputy Interior Minister Vladimir Yevdokimov said Oleksandr Muzychko died after opening fire at police and Sokol special forces, who had raided a cafe to arrest him and fellow ultra-nationalists. The authorities described Oleksandr Muzychko as a criminal gang leader.
Oleksandr Muzychko, better known as Sashko Bilyi, died in a shoot-out with police in a cafe in Rivne in western Ukraine
During the raid, Oleksandr Muzychko fired at police as he was trying to flee, wounding one of them. Police then returned fire and captured him and three others in his “criminal gang”, Vladimir Yevdokimov said.
“He was still alive as they were arresting him – but then the paramedics, called to the scene, found that he had died,” Vladimir Yevdokimov said.
The three arrested gang members have been taken to Kiev for questioning.
A Right Sector organizer in Rivne has now threatened revenge for the killing of Oleksandr Muzychko, saying he had not been summoned by investigators.
“We will avenge ourselves on [Interior Minister] Arsen Avakov for the death of our brother. The shooting of Sashko Bily is a contract killing ordered by the minister,” said Roman Koval of the Right Sector in Rivne region, quoted by the Ukrayinska Pravda website.
Earlier, Ukrainian lawmaker Oles Doniy, gave a different version of events. He said two cars had forced Oleksandr Muzychko’s car to stop, and he had then been dragged into one of the other cars. Later his body was found dumped, his hands tied behind his back and two bullet wounds in his heart, Oles Doniy wrote overnight on his Facebook page.
Correspondents say Oleksandr Muzychko acquired notoriety in Ukraine after he was filmed brandishing an AK-47 assault rifle at a town hall session in western Ukraine, and then harassing a local prosecutor. After that, in February, the Ukrainian interior minister condemned his behavior and promised to investigate.
Moscow says the activities of Right Sector and other Ukrainian nationalist groups pose a threat to the large Russian-speaking minority in Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin gave that as one of his reasons for intervening in Crimea.
However, some commentators say Russia has deliberately whipped up such fears, and that the influence of Right Sector in Ukrainian politics is exaggerated.
Earlier, Russian authorities issued an arrest warrant for Oleksandr Muzychko, accusing him of atrocities against Russian soldiers in Chechnya.
President Barack Obama is planning to ask Congress to end bulk collection of US phone records by the National Security Agency (NSA).
NSA senior officials told the New York Times the agency would “end its systematic collection of data about Americans’ calling habits”.
Phone records would instead remain with telecoms companies, only to be accessed by government when needed.
It follows widespread anger at home and abroad after leaks revealed the full extent of US surveillance operations.
The documents – leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden – revealed that the US collects massive amounts of electronic data from communications of private individuals around the world, and has spied on foreign leaders.
In a speech in January, Barack Obama said it was necessary for the US to continue collecting large amounts of data, but that civil liberties must be respected.
Barack Obama is planning to ask Congress to end bulk collection of US phone records by the NSA
He said the current system, in which the NSA collects the details of the times, numbers and durations of phone calls, known as metadata, would come to an end.
According to the New York Times report, Barack Obama told the US justice department and intelligence officials to come up with a plan by March 28.
Under the new proposal, officials say surveillance “would require phone companies to swiftly provide records in a technologically compatible data format, including making available, on a continuing basis, data about any new calls placed or received after the order is received”.
The phone companies would not be required to hold on to the data for longer than they normally would, the New York Times says.
The NSA currently holds information for five years, whereas telecoms companies are required by federal regulation to retain customer records for 18 months.
The new proposal “would retain a judicial role in determining whether the standard of suspicion was met for a particular phone number before the NSA could obtain associated records”, the newspaper adds.
The Obama administration plans to renew the current NSA program for at least another 90 days until Congress passes the new legislation.
New legislation has also been developed separately by leaders of the House intelligence committee that would allow the NSA to issue subpoenas for specific phone records without prior judicial approval, the New York Times reports.
The New York Times report does not provide information on possible changes to the NSA’s surveillance of phone records from other countries.
The definition of addiction is not always agreed upon among professionals. In general it would be any type of behavior that becomes compulsive and interferes with an individual’s daily life. Building a tolerance and needing more of whatever activities or substances are being used is often a substantial element of addictions. Finally, losing control over the behavior is the hallmark of an addiction. The following are 10 prevalent addictions affecting men in the United States and all 10 addictions have available treatment support in rehabs for men.
Alcohol
Men are twice as likely as women to be addicted to alcohol. It also takes men approximately five years longer than women to seek help for an alcohol addiction.
Smoking
According to the CDC approximately 20 percent of men in the United States smoke cigarettes. The number of men who smoke by age group is fairly evenly divided.
Drugs
While drug addiction covers a wide range of prescription and street drugs, the most commonly abused drug is marijuana. Painkillers appear to be the prescription drug of choice for men and women.
Gambling
Between 15 and 20 million adults have a gambling problem. The majority are men. Research indicates that men tend to be “action” gamblers, preferring games like poker that take a certain amount of skill. Women, however, are more likely to be “escape” gamblers and participate in games based on luck.
Pornography
Studies have revealed that the same brain changes that occur in drug addicts occur in those addicted to pornography. Men between the ages of 18 and 24 make up the largest percentage of men using pornography on a regular basis.
Cell Phone Nomophobia is the official term for anxiety if there isn’t access to mobile technology. Nearly 47 percent of men have two phones. If a guy constantly checks his phone before getting out of bed each morning or can’t get through the first course in a restaurant without texting, there may be a problem.
Work
This is a tough addiction to pinpoint since a hardworking man is often viewed as successful. About 25 percent of American men work more than 50 hours each week. While working long hours is not necessarily a problem, when it interferes with health or personal relationships it may qualify as an addiction.
Sex Sex addictions are not the same as addictions to pornography. One is primarily living in a fantasy world while the other is actually having sex with another person. About 8 percent of men in the United States suffer from this affliction.
Internet/Social Media
While online addictions are often connected to other addictions such as porn and gambling, constantly visiting places like Facebook and Twitter can also become a problem. Men may be especially susceptible to social media addiction because it’s an easy way for them to connect to others while still remaining disconnected on a certain level.
Food
Yes, men can struggle with food addictions, though usually not as much as women. Like so many other addictions, the release of dopamine in the brain is the driving influence behind this behavior.
While women’s addictions seem to be more severe, men are more likely to become addicts. Men are also less likely to seek help for their addictive behavior.
The economy is always experiencing phases where this or that industry begins to emerge as a major source of jobs. This can be because a new technological advancement gives rise to the need for a new career type. It can also mean that an industry is simply generating a lot of consumer demand. Often it is useful to research which industries are experiencing an uptrend both for getting a head start on a new job or even for investment purposes. Here are three trending industries that may deserve a closer look.
In the realm of hazardous chemicals and biological materials there exists the need for biorepositories and laboratory moving services. A Biorepository is a place where biological material is dealt with. This could include storage of biological materials, processing, and even proper distribution of such products and specimens. In the case where biological materials need to be transported in mass, the need for laboratory moving services becomes essential. These moving services need to have trained staff who comply with the regulatory measures imposed on the transport of hazardous chemicals and infectious biological agents. They must also have the proper temperature controlled refrigerated containers and back up refrigerator units to facilitate the proper and safe storage of specimens during transport. This industry may involve a hint of danger, but there are certainly exciting career possibilities to be considered.
Data Infrastructure Services are often overlooked facilities where private and public cloud services are housed will be a growing industry in 2014. The cloud infrastructure is home to much of the digital applications being developed, stored, and accessed by mobile devices, such as smart phones, tablets, and phablets. As more mobile devices increase demand for cloud services in the industry, this creates a greater need for more data centers and cloud infrastructure. The expansion of new data centers translates to more positions needing to be filled. Management, software engineers, and sales representatives will be among the many key positions needing to be filled by qualified applicants as this trend of infrastructure expansion occurs and business continues to pick up.
Perhaps one industry people do not take much time to think about is the role played by materials engineers. Every product we use is made of materials. Materials have specific properties that are often studied and manipulated to determine their range of use. Materials engineers spend countless hours playing and experimenting with various materials to figure out these properties and where they are most useful. Usually, a materials engineer will specialize in an area, such as metals, plastics, or ceramics just to name a few. Many times materials engineers are dealing with substances at the atomic level, trying to figure out how to manipulate atomic structures to produce new and exciting properties. As long as companies continue to create innovative products with new substances that exhibit exotic properties, this industry will continue to positively trend.
Catching an unknown industry as it is trending can often involve a lot of investigation and research. However, being able to determine if demand, product sales, and employment in an industry is increasing or not are sometimes indicators that an industry is on an up or down swing. Sometimes, only time can tell for certain what industries were trending in which direction.
Gwar’s frontman Dave Brockie has been found dead at his Virginia home at the age of 50.
Officers were called to a home in Richmond, Virginia, on Sunday evening to a report of a dead person, said Dionne Waugh, a spokesperson for local police.
When police arrived, Dave Brockie was found dead inside the home.
Dionne Waugh said the medical examiner’s officer would determine the cause of death but foul play is not suspected.
On Monday, a picture of Dave Brockie was posted on the heavy metal band’s official website, along with the dates of his birth and death.
Dave Brockie had been part of the Grammy-nominated band since it was founded in 1984 and went by the stage name Oderus Urungus
Gwar’s manager, Jack Flanagan, released a statement confirming the news.
“It is with a saddened heart, that I confirm my dear friend Dave Brockie, artist, musician, and lead singer of Gwar passed away at approximately 6.50 p.m. EST Sunday March 23, 2014.
“His body was found Sunday by his band mate at his home in Richmond, Virginia. Richmond authorities have confirmed his death and next of kin has been notified. A full autopsy will be performed,” he said.
Jack Flanagan added: “My main focus right now is to look after my band mates and his family. More information regarding his death shall be released as the details are confirmed.”
Dave Brockie had been part of the Grammy-nominated band since it was founded in 1984 and went by the stage name Oderus Urungus.
Gwar were known for the grotesque costumes, on-stage antics and extreme lyrics.
They had recently announced they would hold the fifth Gwar-B-Q concert on August 16 at Hadad’s Water Park in Virginia.
Gwar released their last album in 2013 and had recently completed tours in Japan and Australia.
In 2011, Gwar’s lead guitarist 34-year-old Cory Smoot was found dead on the band’s tour bus.
The search for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane has been suspended because of bad weather, Australian officials say.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said high winds and rain meant planes could not fly safely.
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak says satellite data showed the plane ended its journey in remote seas west of Australia.
In Beijing relatives of passengers clashed with police outside Malaysia’s embassy, as China asked to see data on which Malaysia’s conclusion was based.
About 200 relatives marched to the diplomatic mission, with scuffles breaking out as they confronted security personnel.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared on March 8 as it flew from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. It was carrying a total of 239 people, including 153 Chinese nationals.
A multinational search effort has focused on seas some 1,500 miles to the southwest of the Australian city of Perth.
In a news conference late on Monday, Malaysian PM Najib Razak said it had to be concluded “with deep sadness and regret” that according to new data “flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean”.
Speaking to media on Tuesday, Malaysia Airlines CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said: “We do not know why, we do not know how this terrible tragedy happened.”
But he added: “The announcement made last night and shared with families is the reality that we must now accept.”
The search for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane has been suspended because of bad weather
Malaysia Airlines Chairman Mohammed Nor Yusof described the situation as “an unprecedented event requiring an unprecedented response”.
“The investigation under way may yet prove to be even longer and more complex than it has been since March 8,” he said.
“But we will continue to support the families as we have done throughout, and to support the authorities as the search for definitive answers continues.”
Planes from several nations have been scouring waters far off Perth for signs of the missing plane, in a search co-ordinated by Australia.
There have been several sightings of debris, but none have yet been confirmed as linked to the plane.
In its statement, AMSA said it had undertaken a risk assessment “and determined that the current weather conditions would make any air and sea search activities hazardous and pose a risk to crew”.
“Therefore, AMSA has suspended all sea and air search operations for today due to these weather conditions,” it said.
Australia’s Defense Minister David Johnston said search efforts were unlikely to start again for “at least another 24 hours”.
David Johnston described the search as a “massive logistical exercise” in an “extremely remote” part of the world.
Mark Binskin, vice-chief of the Australian Defense Force, said: “We’re not searching for a needle in a haystack. We’re still trying to define where the haystack is.”
China, meanwhile, has asked Malaysia to hand over the data that led it to conclude the plane had flown into the sea.
“We demand the Malaysian side state the detailed evidence that leads them to this judgement as well as supply all the relevant information and evidence about the satellite data analysis,” Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Xie Hangsheng said, according to a statement on the ministry’s website.
“The search and rescue work cannot stop now. We demand the Malaysian side continue to finish all the work including search and rescue,” he added.
Washington authorities have found six more bodies after Saturday’s huge landslide, bringing the number known to have been killed to 14, say police.
Officials now say as many as 176 people may remain unaccounted for after the 177ft wall of mud hit near the town of Oso, north of Seattle.
Search crews have worked day and night, using helicopters and laser imaging.
Officials admit they have little hope of finding survivors.
President Barack Obama has declared an emergency in Washington State and ordered federal authorities to co-ordinate the disaster relief effort.
Speaking earlier after surveying the area from the air, Washington Governor Jay Inslee said it was “devastation beyond imagination”.
Jay Inslee said the slide “basically cut a mountain in two” and deposited it on the town below. Nothing in the path of the slide was still standing.
“It’s that absolute devastation that causes us all real pain,” he said.
Family members and volunteers were using chainsaws and their bare hands to shift the wreckage and try to find those missing.
Washington authorities have found six more bodies after Saturday’s huge landslide
At a news conference on Monday evening, Snohomish County emergency management director John Pennington said the official list of the missing stood at 176.
But he said he did not think the final death toll would be so high, because some of those listed as unaccounted for would be found to be alive, and other names would prove to be duplicates.
But he said authorities no longer expected to find survivors in the debris.
“We as a community, we as a county, are beginning to realize that we are moving toward a recovery operation,” John Pennington said.
“There is an awful lot of grieving.”
The landslide left behind a cliff known as a head scarp 600ft high, Washington state geologist Dave Norman told reporters on Monday afternoon.
Authorities have continued their search-and-rescue operations amid a tangled, water-logged field of mud and debris, using rescue dogs, aerial photography and laser imaging to help the search.
Officials said the conditions were treacherous, and the threat of further landslides on Monday forced the authorities to pull rescue workers back from the scene briefly until scientists determined there was no further risk.
More than 30 homes were destroyed and more than half the town of Oso is missing – a recent census put its population at 180.
The landslide cut off the city of Darrington and clogged the north fork of the Stillaguamish River.
Malaysia Airlines officials defended their handling of the notification of family members on the presumed final fate of missing Flight MH370.
At a press conference held in Kuala Lumpur airport, Malaysia Airlines Group CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya first gave his condolences to the family members of the passengers and noted: “It must be remembered that 13 of our own colleagues were also on board.”
Malaysia Airlines officials defended their handling of the notification of family members on the presumed final fate of missing Flight MH370
Regarding the text messages that some relatives got from the airline on Monday, Jauhari Yahya said Malaysia Airlines’ “sole motivation” was to make sure the victims’ families “heard the news before the world did”.
“Wherever humanly possible, we did so in person with the families or by telephone, using SMS as the last resort,” Jauhari Yahya said.
Malaysia Airlines officials also said that preparations were being made to provide the families with more than the $5,000 they were already set to receive as compensation, and to shuttle families to the recovery zone in Australia when possible.
Malaysian officials also noted some 40 extra “caregivers” have been trained to assist the passengers’ families.
Australian officials earlier had said that visas for family members looking to be as close to the search zone as possible would be expedited.
Meanwhile, when asked if they would resign in the wake of the handling of the investigation, Malaysia Airlines officials said they were considering it, but it was a personal decision.
Mayor of Brazilian city Porto Alegre, Jose Fortunati, says his city may drop out of June’s football World Cup if key legislation is not approved this week.
Mayor Jose Fortunati told a local Radio Gaucha that “there was no plan B” to find much-needed extra funding.
He says a bill creating tax breaks for companies investing in temporary structures for the tournament must be voted on Tuesday.
The Brazil World Cup starts on June 12 but some cities are behind schedule.
Porto Alegre’s Beira Rio stadium is nearly ready, but it still needs temporary structures to house the media, sponsors and other requirements by the world football governing body, FIFA.
Porto Alegre’s Beira Rio stadium is nearly ready, but it still needs temporary structures to house the media, sponsors and other requirements by FIFA
The outside of the stadium in the southern Brazil city, due to host five matches, including fixtures with France, Holland and Argentina, is still unfinished.
However, in an interview with local Radio Gaucha, Jose Fortunati said he was more worried about the temporary structures.
“If the project is not voted, we won’t have the World Cup in Porto Alegre. There’s no Plan B, nor C nor Z,” he warned.
The legislation that allows tax exemptions to firms that invest in the structures was poised to be voted by the Rio Grande do Sul state legislative assembly on Tuesday.
The authorities are not allowed to use public money in structures that will not be used after the World Cup.
FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke said on Friday that delays were most worrying in Sao Paulo’s Arena Corinthians – set to host the opening match – and in Porto Alegre’s Beira Rio, just under three months before the tournament.
Venezuela has stripped leading opposition congresswoman Maria Corina Machado of her mandate after she spoke before the Organization of American States (OAS) last week.
Maria Corina Machado had been invited by Panama to give her account of the recent wave of unrest in Venezuela.
But Venezuela’s authorities say Maria Corina Machado “acted as a Panamanian official” by accepting the invitation.
The decision means Maria Corina Machado will lose her parliamentary immunity and could be prosecuted for “inciting violence”.
More than 30 people have died since mid-February in demonstrations against high inflation, food shortages and violence levels.
Venezuela’s National Assembly’s president, Diosdado Cabello, said Maria Corina Machado had contravened the constitution.

Diosdado Cabello also said Maria Corina Machado was introduced at the OAS meeting in Washington DC as an “alternate ambassador” to Panama.
“Maybe the Panamanian government will now name her permanent ambassador,” he added.
Arriving in Peru’s capital, Lima, for a seminar at an institution presided by the 2010 Nobel Prize winning author Mario Vargas Llosa, Maria Corina Machado accused Diosdado Cabello of running a “dictatorship in the National Assembly”.
Maria Corina Machado wrote later on Twitter: “Mr. Cabello: I am a Congresswoman at the National Assembly so long as the people of Venezuela want it.”
She also said she was prepared to deal with the consequences of her actions.
“If the price that I must pay for having gone to the OAS so that the voice of the Venezuelan people could be heard is that I’m being persecuted today, in what they’re doing to me now, I will pay for it one and a million times.”
On Saturday, President Nicolas Maduro had already referred to Maria Corina Machado as “former congresswoman”.
Maria Corina Machado has been openly demanding the resignation of Nicolas Maduro since the start of the recent protests.
Venezuela’s government accuses “right-wing fascists” of inciting the unrest as part of a plot to overthrow the government.
Russia and Ukraine are holding talks for the first time since Russia’s move into Crimea triggered a diplomatic crisis.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says his country is unfazed by the prospect of being expelled from the G8.
Other members of the group of industrialized countries have agreed not to hold a planned summit in Russia.
The move comes as Ukrainian troops are leaving Crimea after Russian forces seized military bases in the region.
Earlier this month, Russia annexed Crimea after a referendum considered illegal by Kiev and the West.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andriy Deshchytsia, for the first time since Crimea annexation
Sergei Lavrov met Ukraine’s interim Foreign Minister Andriy Deshchytsia on the sidelines on a security summit in The Hague on Monday.
“We set forth our vision to establish good national dialogue taking into account all residents of Ukraine,” Sergei Lavrov told a news conference.
He also said he saw “no great tragedy” if Moscow was expelled from the Group of Eight (G8) club of leading nations for its annexation of Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula.
“If our Western partners think that this format has outlived itself, then so be it. At the very least, we are not trying to cling on to this format,” he told reporters.
The remaining members of the powerful body, who also met on the sidelines of the nuclear summit, agreed that the planned G8 summit in Russia would be called off because Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine.
Several G8 members have also called for Russia’s membership of the group to be suspended.
Secretary of State John Kerry also met Sergei Lavrov on Monday and expressed “strong concern” about the massing of Russian forces on the Ukrainian border, Reuters quoted a senior US state department official as saying.

“Look what we’ve got cooking!” Stacy Keibler tweeted, alongside a photo of a bun in an oven.
Just a few weeks after she secretly married boyfriend Jared Pobre in an intimate beachside ceremony in Mexico, Stacy Keibler announced on Twitter that she is pregnant
“A Bun’dle of love!”
Though Stacy Keibler, 34, has known Jared Pobre, 39, for more than five years, the pair didn’t start dating until fall 2013, after she split from George Clooney last summer.
Stacy Keibler dated George Clooney, 51, for two years, attending numerous red carpets on his arm.
News of the pregnancy is as surprising as Stacy Keibler’s impromptu wedding on March 8.
Stacy Keibler and tech entrepreneur Jared Pobre simply told their families about a surprise Mexican vacation. Once their loved ones arrived, the couple revealed plans for a “rogue wedding” a source said.
Mila Kunis is pregnant! The actress and her fiancé Ashton Kutcher are expecting their first a baby.
Just weeks after Mila Kunis, 30, and Ashton Kutcher, 36, got engaged, a source revealed to HollywoodLife.comthat they’re expecting their first child.
E!Online was the first to break the news that they had a source confirming that Mila Kunis was pregnant. However, the pregnancy news comes as no surprise to us because she has been wearing some rather baggy tops and oversized clothing lately.
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are expecting their first a baby
In an interview for Ok Magazine a friend of the couple revealed that yes, indeed a baby, or babies were on the way.
“Ashton and Mila feel like they won the baby lottery,” a friend of the couple told the March 31 issue of OK magazine.
“It was a total shock for both of them, but they feel up for the challenge. It didn’t seem like it was possible for them to fall any deeper in love, but the prospect of raising an insta-family together has solidified their commitment to each other.”
Mila Kunis was photographed just last month wearing a massive diamond ring while out shopping with her mom at the Grove shopping center in LA, and a source confirmed to E!Online that Ashton Kutcher had indeed popped the question to make their romance legit.
At least 108 people are reported missing or unaccounted for after Saturday’s huge landslide in the north-western Washington.
Eight bodies have been recovered so far after the 177ft deep wall of mud swept near the town of Oso, about 55 miles north of Seattle.
Search crews have worked day and night, using helicopters in the dangerous conditions that destroyed 30 homes.
Several people, including an infant, were critically injured.

Snohomish County emergency management director John Pennington said the figure did not necessarily represent the total number of injuries or fatalities.

Authorities have continued their search-and-rescue operations amid a tangled debris field that Washington Governor Jay Inslee labeled “a square mile of total devastation”.
The landslide cut off the city of Darrington and clogged the north fork of the Stillaguamish River.
This prompted fears of severe flooding downstream if the build-up of water behind the debris breaks through suddenly.
The authorities say the landslide was caused by recent heavy rain.
The area has had problems in the past with unstable land.
Oscar Pistorius trial in Pretoria has heard today that his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp sent him a text message saying: “I’m scared of you sometimes.”
The message was sent after Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp had a row when he accused her of flirting with another man – weeks before he shot her dead.
A police captain has been testifying about the couple’s mobile phones.
Oscar Pistorius denies deliberately killing his girlfriend of three months, saying he thought she was an intruder.
The trial has now entered is fourth week, with the prosecution expected to wrap up its case before Friday.
Capt Francois Moller said he had been able to extract some 35,000 pages’ worth of messages from Reeva Steenkamp’s phone.
He told the court on Monday that 90% of the messages between the couple were loving, but he had picked out exceptions.
Oscar Pistorius has said he has forgotten the password to his iPhone and investigators went to the US shortly before the trial began to meet Apple officials to try and gain access to it.
Reeva Steenkamp sent Oscar Pistorius a text message saying she was scared of him
In one message sent on January 27, 2013, Reeva Steenkamp wrote: “I’m scared of you sometimes and how you snap at me and of how you react to me.”
Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp had attended an engagement dinner and left abruptly.
In another message she wrote: “I can’t be attacked by outsiders for dating you and be attacked by you – the one person I deserve protection from.”
Reeva Steenkamp’s messages paint a picture of the athlete as a jealous and possessive boyfriend.
Earlier, one of Oscar Pistorius’ neighbors said she had heard both a man and woman scream on Valentine’s Day 2013.
Anette Stipp, whose husband gave evidence earlier in the trial, said she heard the screams and gunshots at around 0300 local time on the day of the shooting.
She said she heard two groups of gunshots with a woman screaming in between.
Anette Stipp testimony has closely matched that of other neighbors and witnesses, including her husband.
The defense has previously claimed that Oscar Pistorius screams like a woman and that neighbors had confused his screams with those of Reeva Steenkamp.
“It was a definitely a woman screaming,” said Anette Stipp.
She also said that the light was on in the bathroom cubicle, where Reeva Steenkamp was when she was shot.
This contradicts evidence given by Oscar Pistorius, who said that it was “pitch dark” where the shooting took place.
On Sunday the trial was extended and will now run until the middle of May. It had been due to end this week.
The prosecution says it will call upon four more witnesses before closing its case.
The defense team, led by Barry Roux, will then call upon its own witnesses, including Oscar Pistorius himself.
Last week the trial heard evidence from ballistics experts and computer forensic teams who described the sequence and timing of the shots that killed Reeva Steenkamp.
A commuter train has derailed at an underground station at Chicago O’Hare International Airport early Monday, injuring 32 people on board, officials said.
The eight-car Chicago commuter train plowed across a platform and scaled an escalator.
No one suffered life-threatening injuries in the Blue Line derailment at O’Hare International Airport, Chicago Fire Commissioner Jose Santiago said during a morning briefing.
An enormous disaster was avoided thanks to the timing of the crash at 02:50 a.m. The bustling station is usually packed with travelers making their way to or from Chicago from the major airport, and a Chicago Transit Authority official said the crash happened at a traditionally quiet time.

CTA investigators along with the city fire department and police were reviewing security footage and interviewing the driver and other CTA workers to pin down the cause of the accident around 2:50 a.m. National Transportation Safety Board investigators were expected to arrive later in the day.
“We will be looking at equipment. We will be looking at signals. We’ll be looking at the human factor and any extenuating circumstances,” CTA spokesman Brian Steele said.
“But really at this point, it’s far too soon to speculate.”
Transit agency officials said crews were working to remove the train and fix the escalator, which received “significant damage”. Hours after the crash, the front of the first car could still be seen near the top of the escalator.
Christopher Bushell, CTA’s chief infrastructure officer, said it would likely be at least 12 to 24 hours before the station would reopen. He said workers will cut the train apart and remove it in pieces on a flatbed.
The CTA was busing passengers to and from O’Hare to the next station on the line.
The train appeared to have been going too fast as it approached the end-of-line station and didn’t stop at a bumping post — a metal shock absorber at the end of the tracks.
The injured were taken to four hospitals and most were able to walk away from the wreck unaided.
