Cheerios first Super Bowl commercial sparks controversy
Cheerios is creating a huge controversy with its first ever Super Bowl commercial.
General Mills, which owns the cereal brand, got a lot of racial backlash for portraying an interracial family in the commercial.
“Cheerios is about families and love and connections – and breakfast,” said Camille Gibson, vice president of marketing for Big G cereals.
“Our new Cheerios ad celebrates one of those special moments with a family that America fell in love with.”
The racial comments have been deactivated on the YouTube video.
