George Clooney pranks his father at The Monuments Men screening
George Clooney pranked his father at a screening of his new movie The Monuments Men by suggesting the old man had passed on in the credits.
Journalist Nick Clooney, 80, plays George Clooney’s war hero character as an older man in the film and features in the movie’s final shot.
George Clooney couldn’t resist poking fun at his father’s age as the dedications rolled at the end of the screening.
The actor told Access Hollywood Live: “I did a really horrible thing to him when we screened the movie … He came to the house in Italy and I was working on the rough cut of the film and the movie has my father walking away into this beautiful light in this church … and it goes to black and the first thing that comes up is, <<In loving memory of Nick Clooney>>.
“He’s looking and he says, <<What the hell?>> I said, <<Well, it’s a long time until the movie comes out, it’s easier to take it away. <<He didn’t think that was funny at all>>.”
