Randy Travis leaves hospital after suffering stroke

Randy Travis has left a Texas hospital, three weeks after he suffered a stroke.

His publicist, Kirt Webster, said the singer had been moved to a physical therapy centre for further treatment.

Randy Travis, 54, was initially admitted to Baylor Medical Centre on July 7, suffering from a heart condition caused by a virus.

Three days later Randy Travis suffered a stroke and underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain.

His fiancée Mary Davis thanked fans and friends for their “prayers and support as Randy continues on the road to recovery”.

Randy Travis is best known for his songs Forever and Ever, Amen, Diggin’ Up Bones and I Told You So.

Randy Travis began his career in the mid-1980s and has won several Grammys and Country Music Association awards.
