Verne Troyer Dies Aged 49
Actor Verne Troyer has died at the age of 49.
He was best known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies.
Verne Troyer, who was 2ft 8in tall, also played Griphook in the first Harry Potter movie.
A statement on the actor’s official Facebook page read: “It is with great sadness and incredibly heavy hearts to write that Verne passed away today.”
“Over the years he’s struggled and won… but unfortunately this time was too much,” the statement added.

Verne Troyer has also made regular appearances on Celebrity Juice and starred in Keith Lemon’s feature length film, Keith Lemon: The Film.
One of his first roles was as a stunt double for a nine-month-old baby in the 1994 movie Baby’s Day Out.
Verne troyer appeared in two Austin Powers movies as Mini-Me, the clone and sidekick of the villain Dr. Evil who was played by Mike Myers.
Earlier this month, Verne Troyer was admitted to hospital in Los Angeles but his team did not say what he was suffering from.
In 2017, the actor was treated for alcohol addiction when he released a statement addressing his problems: “While it’s not always been an easy fight, I’m willing to continue my fight day by day.
“I want to thank everyone that’s reached out with their messages of support, it truly means the world to me.”
