A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in the southern French town of Grasse after two people were hurt in a shooting at a school, sparking a terror alert.
A second suspect was on the run with one French media report suggesting it was an incident between two students.
Anti-terrorist commandos from the elite Raid force were sent to the scene.
Grasse, the capital of French perfume industry, is about 27 miles from Nice, where a truck attack killed 86 people in July 2016.
France remains under a state of emergency after a string of deadly attacks in the past two years.
