Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny have reunited as agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder for a new season of The X-Files series after a thirteen and a half year hiatus.

The latest teaser to give fans a taste of what is to come has been released and it shows the two former FBI agents in familiar territory.X Files new season 2015

Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are seen looking in the corners of darkened buildings a corners, both brandishing a torchlight.

Dana Scully also holds a gun as she looks into the darkness. Both look frightened as their faces are caught in the blaze from the flashlight.

As well as David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their much-loved double act, the Smoking Man (William B Davis) and FBI head honcho Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) are also set to return, with guest spots from Rhys Darby and Joel McHale as Tad O’Malley – an internet news anchor.

The X-Files will premiere on January 24, 2016, on Fox.
