Joan Rivers out of medically induced coma
Doctors from New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital started the process of bringing Joan Rivers out of a medically induced coma, ET reported.
Joan Rivers, 81, was placed under a medically induced coma following a routine endoscopy. Not long after the procedure started, she stopped breathing and was then rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital.
“This morning, Joan Rivers was taken to The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York where she is being attended to,” a spokesperson for the hospital confirmed on August 28.
“Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support. We will provide an update on her condition as it becomes available.”
Joan Rivers’ daughter Melissa, 46, flew to New York from Los Angeles on August 28, saying after she landed: “I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother. She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.”
