Joan Rivers health status: Comedienne resting comfortably in hospital

Joan Rivers’ daughter, Melissa, has released an update on the health status of her mother after she was hospitalized in New York.

In a Tweet posted to NBC News, Melissa Rivers said that her mother “is resting comfortably and is with our family.”

“I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother. She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in you thoughts and prayers,” Melissa Rivers wrote.

On August 28, Joan Rivers, 81, was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital from her New York City doctor’s office after she stopped breathing during vocal cord surgery.

Melissa Rivers, who co-stars with her mother on E!’s reality series Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best? quickly made her way to the hospital to be by Joan’s side.
