German-born actress Rosemary Murphy has died aged 89.
Rosemary Murphy passed away on July 5 at her home in New York after a battle with esophageal cancer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
She made her Broadway debut in 1950 play The Tower Beyond Tragedy, and went on to star in 15 more productions on the Great White Way.
Rosemary Murphy stared in the Oscar-winning film adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird, as well as That Night and Julia.
She won an Emmy Award in 1976 for playing President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s mother, Sara, in the TV movie Eleanor and Franklin.
Rosemary Murphy was nominated for another Emmy for the sequel the following year.
